Everything is fresh here. Mostly fried stuff that we ordered. Catfish is great, a tad too salty, but still great. Burgers are great, the patties are a tad dry, but acceptable. Curly fries are great, seasoning is not crazy. Wings are great, especially the plain bone-in ones. Service is exceptional. Very friendly staff all throughout. Nice cute little venue. We both ordered the catfish which was very good, as were the hush puppies and Cole slaw. Of the 7 soups on the menu they only had 2 but they had a third that wasn't on the menu. Great food, nice people, 2 out of 3 orders were slightly wrong. There was someone in there who was really loud and I think she was an employee. Otherwise we were able to conduct our conversations. Definitely a go backer. I can't believe how many great restaurants there are in this area! Biggest catfish fillets I've had and best hush puppies. I think next time my meal might be the hush puppies! Let's start with the food! All in all the food is a 4/5! The food is pretty good, however the appetizers could use a little work. We ordered the fried green tomatoes, I was a little disappointed because they didn't have much seasoning or flavor. However the fish is a 5/5! The service was pretty decent. The drink selection could definitely use some work! The owner came to our table and asked how we were and how everything was and I definitely appreciated his hospitality! I wanted to love this place! The people are the sweetest ever and they're trying so hard. They have fixed it up so it's cute and inviting and it has everything it needs but really good food. I got the coconut shrimp appetizer, which was the worst example of that dish I've found. Another person n the party got the 'lobster bites' appetizer. Not sure what they were except balls of fried batter with sort of a McNugget vibe. The hamburgers are pre/frozen and not recommended. Sadly disappointed. I have been wanting to try this place but won't be going back after today's experience. Nearly empty I ordered a burger & fries. They are out of fries. So I ordered the curly fries. 15 minutes pass & I ask about my order. Turns out the cook was one of the guys chatting near me. Apparently "forgot" my order. They did offer to refund my charge but I wasn't given any receipt so I guess I have to trust them? They did offer to give me the food but I declined. A hidden gem in Denison. Owner is a great human being. Found it by chance when my father died and we were looking for a place to eat after making funeral arrangements in May. Everything else was closed. He actually prayed for us after learning of my father's passing. Whenever I go to Denison I stop there to eat. Plus, they have German chocolate cake which is my favorite. Let me start off with I try not to write bad reviews and I 100% try and support local businesses. After months of wanting to try this pace out and reading all of the reviews I couldn't wait any longer. Especially since they have wings. What better to watch football with than some tasty wings? I tried them at lunch time if that makes a difference. We ordered the Fish Tacos, curly fries and spicy lemon pepper and Hot wings. The fish tacos were good but not great. The fries, which were 5 dollars for some reason, are another story. I'll let you be the judge but for 5 bucks I maybe got 20 fries. The small curly fries at Jack in the box are a larger order. But I thought for such a small size maybe they're just that amazing. Not so much. Terrible doesn't begin to describe them. I'm not sure if the oil needed to be changed out or what but they were completely inedible. Now to the wings. The inferno wings were pretty good. The hot lemon pepper maybe I just had different expectations. By hot I thought spicy. Which they weren't. They were sitting in liquid when served. I assume grease so they were pretty soggy. The wings themselves were overcooked. I'm not really sure what to think ar this point but I feel 30 dollars for a meal for 2 people I could spend elsewhere.
