I freely admit I was suspicious and leery as I was a big fan of the previous owners (The Riverenza), and I was not excited about something good being tampered with. But I can say with confidence that this place is a NEW (not so new anymore) GOOD THING! The coffee is skillfully crafted, the food is quality, thoughtfully planned and executed. I have enjoyed every special they serve when they have evening events - like "Friday Night With Ben". The food is adventurous but classic (and not like down home country fried classic, but like classic dishes with agreeable twists). Love that it is a family business, and there's always a quiet sweet precious wee bebe on someone's hip, just loving life. This beautiful little church was perfect for our last minute brunch plans. It's fairly empty with regards to decor and furniture, but it's nice and simple. We ordered the banana by smoothie, breakfast burrito, and garden bagel. The smoothie was sweet and not very thick, which made it easy for our 1 year old to drink through a straw. My husband was able to alter the breakfast burrito to his liking (black bean patty for bacon), which looked great, while my veggie bagel was perfect. It included lettuce, vegan pesto, tomatoes, peppers, and avocados. Service was great considering that it wasn't too busy around 10:30am. I will admit that when my husband and I walked in, after a long drive from central Washington; we were a little confused because it looks like we walked into a room of tables in an old church. Then we turn the corner and see a little barista stand, at first it looks like they just made coffee. When we walked up to the front, the server hands is the menus with tons of food items. We decided on build your own breakfast sandwich. I made a panini sandwich and my husband ordered a breakfast bagel sandwich. Then two beers for $25 plus tip! Great prices! We waited for a food on a big, red, velvet couch while a young man tuned his guitar in the other room. When the food came within minutes and we saw our plates our jaws dropped. We were extremely surprised and impressed the delicious sandwiches waiting on our plates. After the first bite we were in love with every bite. I would definitely recommend this place to someone looking for good food and and open mind to the ambiance. When you see the stain glass windows and hear the charming young man singing with guitar. I ordered The Charlie Boy and honestly, it was really unappetizing and found myself forcing it down my throat as it hardly had any flavor. I was disappointed to say the least. The outdoor space was super kid friendly (as was staff), but they have no kids menu, which was a bummer. We stopped in for lunch on a road trip and had a great experience! I got the chicken and waffles and my wife got the Veg Out sandwich. My chicken was nice and crunchy and my wife loved how fresh her sandwich was. Also, the coffee was amazing. The staff was friendly and brought our food out pretty quickly, plus the ambiance felt like the kind of place where you could spend a whole afternoon chatting or reading a book. 5 stars! We found this place on Yelp and decided to stop in since the reviews and description looked interesting. Wow! It's in an old church which gave it a great atmosphere. The owner greeted us and gave us some more details of the property and history. Very nice people. My Philly cheesesteak sandwich was very tasty and filling. My wife had the tomato soup (homemade!) and it was fantastic! Fair wine and beer selection (only one selection for each wine varietal) but we enjoyed the cab we chose nevertheless. Homemade cookies for desert and they were yummy. Only suggestion is to make the menu on the wall simpler. Yes there is a lot of choices just not necessary to put everything up on the wall. Too busy. The paper menu goes into greater detail. Next time we are in the area with our MINI club, we will definitely stop in again. read more

I'll try it again. My 1st experience with new ownership was a bit awkward. Coffee had a good flavor but wasn't quite hot enough. Luke warm at best. Toasted bagel took forever, over 10 minutes and when I got it, it was just heated up and not actually toasted. Lastly, I felt super awkward in there! The barista would ask me a question and attempt to engage in conversation but whenever I'd go to answer he'd start another conversation with others. It was odd! He WAS busy but then don't attempt conversation then. I felt dumb answering a question when no one was listening. Otherwise, the building is still gorgeous and I love the area. I came over from Kennewick, WA to meet my aunt from Portland, OR. What a wonderful spot to visit and catch up with loved ones from the west side. We were so thrilled by the delicious pita wraps recommended to us. The coffee was good and the atmosphere of the old church building is quaint and interesting. The chatter noise in the dining room is a bubble of peaceful buzz, much like the sound of fellowship after sermons. It's a fantastic, more intimate, alternative to Cousins. read more

4.5 out of 5, I Need to emphasize that. The reason I am emphasizing this is because it was REALLY GOOD for what it was, but I wanted breakfast, which I got but it was just small portions. The atmosphere is GREAT, absolutely. The food is decently priced, just a limited menu. The coffee/drinks looked pretty good, but Im not a coffee drinker. Definently a nice place to sit back relax, and enjoy the morning. I am not sure where the picture for the Riverenza comes from but it looked delicious. I just wish they had a larger kitchen instead of just bagel sandwiches and Panini's, and salads. Really good for what it is though, not sad about it at all. Definitely give it a try, just don't go expecting a big breakfast, youre gonna be stuck with bagel sandwiches.... not like that's a bad thing though. read more
