There are a few different seating areas, including a loft area over the restrooms. The pizza kitchen is open to the dining room. There is a separate bar area and a bit of outdoor seating as well. So options. The pizza topping are so fresh. The crust is tasty (buttery?) and has a lovely crunch/chew. We have had the same waitress a few times now and she's very personable and capable. First time eating here and it was GREAT!! Walked in and was seated immediately, then ordered and had food in 10-15 min. Ordered a personal pizza and some Mac and cheese- both are soooo tasty. 20 Years ago, I worked at The Landing and when that location opened, I ate there twice. The first time was out of curiosity and the second time was due to someone else's suggestions. I don't recall being impressed either time, but today I decided to give them another try because it's been 15 years and this is a different location. Call me stupid, but I never made the connection between the name and the music industry. I assumed the name came from the fact that it was a brick oven. That said, in my opinion, they do a really poor job and creating a rock and roll environment. Either it's too expensive, or requires a license they don't want to pay for. So instead of being the Hard Rock Café of pizza, this is just the Applebee's of pizza. Our sever had a bad attitude. We came in for lunch and a personal pizza comes with a side salad. I was offered a Caesar or House Salad. Again, call me stupid, but I never knew there was a difference. I have been to places that had both and the only difference was the dressing. I used to tell a story, when I was a teen, a friend and I were at the mall, he ordered teriyaki chicken, and I ordered sesame chicken. We were served the same plate, when I told the woman I ordered sesame chicken, she reached beneath the counter, grabbed a shaker and shook sesame seeds on my plate. So when I say many times I was told the difference was the dressing, you have probably experienced it. Either way, the attitude was uncalled for, and your job is to explain the menu in detail, so don't end up losing your tip. I stayed with water and it tasted terrible. I know the fountains and guns have water, but that water tastes like residue of everything that comes through that line, making it taste contaminated. Either have a dedicated water line or have a way to thoroughly clean your equipment to reduce aftertaste. The pizza was served hot, but it was light on toppings and flavor. I shook a little salt on it, but that was a mistake, now it tasted bland with a sodium kick. I'll say this, I've paid far less for much better and that explained why the place was empty. Let me tell you about The Rock Wood Fired Pizza, where the food is phenomenal but the complete lack of Dwayne Johnson memorabilia is frankly suspicious and increasingly disappointing. Upon entering (while scanning for any hint of The People's Eyebrow), you'll discover incredible wood-fired pizzas served in an establishment that stubbornly refuses to acknowledge its apparent connection to the most electrifying man in sports entertainment. Their host stand doesn't even have a single "Can you smell what The Rock is cooking?" sign, which feels like a massive missed opportunity. Their signature pizzas emerge perfectly charred from ovens that, disappointingly, are not shaped like The Rock's iconic Brahma Bull logo. The "People's Pepperoni" (which they don't actually call it, but SHOULD) comes with a magnificent crispy crust that would make The Great One proud, even though his face appears nowhere on their walls. The menu (which criminally lacks wrestling puns) features zero references to jabronis, catching hands, or knowing your role. Not a single dish is served with a side of pie... which The Rock would definitely approve of, both literally and metaphorically. Their dessert menu doesn't even feature a "Rock Bottom Brownie" or "People's Elbow Pasta." DO YOU SMELL WHAT THEY'RE NOT COOKING?! Five stars for the food, minus several stars for the puzzling absence of Rock-themed decor! P.S. If you hear "Order up!" instead of "IF YOU SMELL..." you'll be as disappointed as I am. P.P.S. Their wood-fired ovens reach 800 degrees but not once have I heard anyone say "The most electrifying oven in pizza entertainment." P.P.P.S. Each table has a small placard that doesn't even mention laying the smackdown on your hunger. Warning: Do NOT ask the staff to do The People's Eyebrow. They seem confused by the request. Double Warning: The management would like to remind you that their name has nothing to do with the most famous Rock in human history, which feels legally questionable. Triple Warning: Yes, that's actually a rock climbing theme instead of The Rock theme. No, we don't understand this decision either. Final Warning: Their slogan isn't even "Just Bring It," which is just leaving money on the table. P.S. Their pizza tossers don't even yell "FINALLY, THE PIZZA HAS COME BACK TO COVINGTON!" when serving. P.P.S. The weekly special board contains zero references to knowing your role and shutting your mouth. Note: The staff uniforms don't feature a single catchphrase from The Rock's extensive catalog of quotable moments. Extra Note: Their website doesn't even have an "IT DOESN'T MATTER" section for complaints. Final Note: The pizza is fantastic, but the complete absence of references to the People's Champ makes me wonder if this is some sort of elaborate heel turn by the restaurant industry. Wow, we hadn't been here in a hot minute. We actually thought they had closed because of some online chatter on Facebook we had seen a couple months ago. Glad to see The Rock is still open in Covington. There are so few sit-down restaurants in Covington, and even fewer that aren't big chains. We went for the happy hour and highly recommend. We will be back! I was so pleased to see that happy hour was a new option. We had stopped going to The Rock because we knew that if we'd eat here, we'd likely end up leaving with some leftovers. Our family loves small bites - trying to reduce our food waste overall and effort to eat what we feel. The food quality is just as we remember. We never really ordered any apps because we knew the pizza would be filling, so this was our first time trying the wings, etc. All yummy items! Our server looked to be the only one around. But she was working hard and was pretty attentive given all the tables she's responsible for. That's not a ding to the server, we understand a lot of restaurants are short-staffed after the pandemic. We try to support local business as much as we can. And believe me, we get it - in this economy it's difficult sometimes, especially when chains can afford to offer better deals. But, if you can, give this place some love. Would hate to lose another business in Covington. The food was so salty, and the Caesar salad had so much Parmesan cheese that it was inedible, and the bucket drink?!? So sweet with little rum/alcohol in it. Pizza and chicken and unlimited refill of juice and sodas!!! Their pizzas were amazing and there is a lot of choices you can pick from. Also, you can choose from white to red sauce or if your like me and can't decide which one just go for both and do half and half. Not to mention, if you are not too sure which one to get just ask what is the most popular or most ordered. The calamari is superb, sooooo tasty, delicious, crunchy and it just melts in your mouth because unlike other places you can actually eat it without any struggle . It was my fav of them all!!! The chicken is my least favorite because it wasn't as meaty as I thought. I was told that there would be 12 pieces, but I noticed there were at least around 9 pieces which I don't mind at all. Although, for those who loves chicken in general it shouldn't be a problem, just ask for sauce on the side (ranch, etc.).
