I went to this place yesterday and ordered there chicken fried steak with the youth chicken that beef or you can still get a beef style, but I got the chicken one which was delicious the server which was the owner. Son was very friendly. I was also impressed if you knew all the local names and what the regular orders were the food I got came out quick hot. The sun also made sure that my water and my coffee was all full I do need to give a warning their sign out front. It's very small and hard to find so you just gotta trust your GPS. I had to open up this app and look at the photo of the sign to figure out where it was in the plaza. I do plan on going back to this place more often. I also do like that. They have real early hours where they open up at seven in the morning. I think I might even go back and try lunch there one of these days soon because their sandwich menu looked pretty decent. read more

The restaurant sits in an older strip mall that doesn't exactly scream "destination dining," but the inside has a cozy, old-school Texas diner feel that was actually pretty charming. Unfortunately, convincing my two kids that this was a better choice than IHOP turned into a losing battle almost immediately. We waited over 40 minutes for our food, which, in kid time, is roughly equivalent to serving a prison sentence. Every five minutes I was reminded that pancakes at IHOP would have already been eaten, digested, and forgotten by then. To be fair, the food was good. I ordered the Philly Scramble, and my wife ordered the California Eggs Benedict. The quality was solid, but the pricing left me scratching my head. The California Eggs Benedict, which came with tomato, avocado, and bacon, was nearly $30. For comparison, I've paid less for Eggs Benedict at places in downtown Seattle. Seeing a $28.99 Eggs Benedict in a strip mall in Kent felt like finding luxury hotel prices at a gas station convenience store. The pricing surprises didn't stop there. There are extra charges for things like splitting orders, automatic gratuity, and add-ons. We had asked for strawberries with the French toast, which may have contributed to the final bill, but it wasn't entirely clear when I reviewed the receipt. Unfortunately, the handwriting on the check was difficult to read, making it hard to understand exactly how everything was itemized. Since I wasn't completely sure what had already been included, I ended up leaving an additional tip just to avoid accidentally shorting someone. By the end, breakfast for our family came out to around $115. Now, credit where it's due: the service itself was friendly, and once the food arrived, everyone enjoyed it. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and I can see why people like this place. The restaurant has a unique charm and definitely feels different from the typical chain breakfast spot. Overall, Mary's Fine Food serves good food and has a pleasant atmosphere, but the long wait times and pricing felt hard to justify for a family breakfast. Three stars. Only got one coffee refill while we W A I T E D. I ordered a pancake with berries. The berries piled on my pancake were still FROZEN! So, it made my pancake COLD AND SOGGY! Saw a Tik Tok and decided to try it. Went early on Saturday morning. The ambiance was like going to my halmeoni's house - vintage wallpaper, the old-style yellow light fixtures, retro booths, pics of who I assume are Mary's kids. The waitress was extremely nice and cheery. We ordered and our food probably took 15-20 minutes. There's a sign that says "We don't serve fast food. We serve fresh food." I can appreciate that. My pancakes were huge. I don't know if it's because I haven't had pancakes for awhile, but my pancake was delicious. It was thin, but moist on the inside and had a crispy bottom. I actually like my pancakes that way - they taste home made. I asked for scrambled eggs - they were cooked well, fluffy. I ordered an extra side of hash browns, and again, I haven't eaten hash browns in a long time, so I really enjoyed the ample portions and they were perfectly cooked - crispy outside, moist inside - and it wasn't greasy at all. It also came with 4 slices of bacon, which was just so much! The chicken fried steak meal was a hearty portion and came with hash browns and toast. My husband said it was ok - but he ate the whole steak! We had to get a box, because there was so much food. I ate a full breakfast of leftovers the next day, and am looking forward to eating the other half of my giant pancake and hash browns tomorrow! The bill was about $55.00. Our party of two arrived to find a mostly full restaurant where nearly everyone looked as though they had just been seated. Lots of full tables, not much food. That probably should have been our first clue something was up. From what we could tell, there were two servers working the dining room and one person cooking. While it's not a big place, this led to seriously delays in everyone receiving their orders. I'm not sure if they had a call out because it's hard to imagine a breakfast place having one cook on a Sunday morning. For the food, I ordered the eggs benedict and my wife opted for the waffle combo. After an hour of waiting, our food arrived and it was just so-so. Too much sauce on the benedict, hash browns tasted like they hadn't been seasoned and were a bit dry. I appreciated that the eggs were cooked properly. My wife felt like her bacon was old and the coffee was watery and un-drinkable. It's easy to be flexible with a restaurant having a bad day if they just communicate as such. Success Orders placed. Now, I know from reading reviews that it does take a bit longer than usual got orders to arrive after being placed. I won't lie, it did take a little longer to get out food even if I exclude the long wait yo even place an order. This is a small business and it was busy. The food arrives and it was so very good. The Café omelette was fluffy and delicious. It had bacon and avocado and cheese and sour cream - yum Other members of the table had a Denver omelette, pancake with bacon and egg. I do recommend this spot if you're not in a rush. I believe there's always just one cook ( based on what the regulars say) but the food is worth the one cook. I was very disappointed in the scrambled eggs that I ordered. They put way too much spinach and hardly any eggs in it. When I told the waitress that I was not happy with my eggs, she was rude and not accommodating. She did not offer to remake them or take it off my bill. Generally when a customer is not happy with their meal, they try to make it right. I ordered a pancake because I did not want the scrambled eggs. They charged me $34 for my meal. The cook even came out and made excuses that she does not measure. My friend ordered the exact eggs and hers did not have a ton of spinach. I will never go back again. This is the best diner I've ever been to. I'm ruined for any other diner. The service was incredible and so friendly. It felt like you are eating at someone's home. I got the country scramble and a pancake, my boyfriend got the famous chicken fried steak and a waffle. The pancake was perfectly cooked, so soft but crispy. The hash browns were crispy, which I feel most dinners never achieve. The gravy on the chicken fried steak was absolutely incredible. I've never had a gravy so good.
