We stopped by New Local in Kent for a later dinner around 7 PM we usually only come for lunch, so we wanted to finally see what dinner was like here. I ordered the three tacos, my husband got the Umai Burger, and we added fish tacos plus wings and garlic fries to share. Everything hit the spot! The fish tacos were perfectly battered, and the garlic fries were giving full-on stadium/baseball vibes crispy, garlicky, addicting. Drinks were solid too. The space looks small from the outside, but once you're in, it's actually pretty spacious. The vibe is super fun they host cool evening events like Latin nights and other themed nights, so it's definitely more than just a restaurant. Excellent Mexican restaurant with lots of great options. There is a bar section as well as family dining area and outdoor seating. Great space for kids and awesome views of the water. Portion sizes were large and my personal favorite was the seafood chimichanga. Additionally, the chips and guacamole were delicious. Holy Margaritas! Had an eye on this place for awhile and happy when we realized we were in the area. Stopped by for an early dinner while the game was playing. It's a great open space that does dancing on Tuesday nights. So cool! We had the steak nachos, which was a generous portion. Buffalo/bbq wings & a cheeseburger with fries. Pretty slow for a Friday night. Friendly staff and very clean establishment. There was someone playing guitar and singing, he was wonderful. The food was ok, everything could have been a little hotter. We tried mozzarella sticking and the cheese wasn't very melted. I ordered the birria tacos. I was expecting the tacos to be made and fried as that's how I've always had them with a side of the juice to dip it in, but it was served in a bowl to make your own tacos. So it got kind of messy. I came here on a Saturday afternoon and got sat right away, there's lots of seating available! I got the Baja shrimp tacos which came with a side of rice and beans. Taco's were pretty good, loved the mango salsa on top but the tortilla had been heated a bit too much so it was hard around the edges. Rice and beans were tasty! Wide open bar/restaurant that has it all. Many tv screens, nice atmosphere, quiet and a great menu. Open for breakfast but not crowded at all, despite some amazingly good food at awesome prices. Our server was friendly and saw to our needs. We both ordered the Mountain Breakfast- cubed russets, two thick bacon, two awesome sausage patties, two eggs your way, and choice of waffle, pancakes or French toast. I got the pancakes which were amazing while Jeri got the French toast with a gourmet bread that was thick and flavorful. All this for $18! The coffee was also great. My only regret is not checking this place out sooner, It's tucked away off the intersection 104th and 256th. It is super clean, large & airy. The service was excellent and the food was so good we cannot wait to go back and try some other dishes. Came in on a Sunday around 11ish. The vibe is moody (dark) and industrial - open floor plan (great for large parties) and low lighting. Lots of space between tables, you won't feel like you can hear other tables conversation. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and sat wherever we wanted to. The bar is in the back corner of the restaurant. It looks like from the decor, that the owner maybe a Veteran (which we love since my husband and I are both vets ourselves and love to support). We ordered Nachos, Breakfast Burrito, Chicken and Waffle, Cajeta pancakes and chilaquiles rojos. Service was great. We got our food in a timely manner. My husband loved his burrito, my daughter enjoyed her huge nachos and my son enjoyed his chicken and waffle. He did say that the tenders were crispy and juicy. The sweet and spicy sauce that it came with complemented the tenders very well, my husband said the sauce tasted even better on his burrito. As for my chilaquiles and cajeta pancakes. These were great. I'm very particular about my chilaquiles, I love when there's texture in my food. Everything else on the plate is soft--the eggs, the beans, the avocado--so that crispy crunch from the chilaquiles gives me the contrast I'm craving. I was disappointed in the level of heat of my chilaquiles rojos. I felt that my chilaquiles rojos was catered to the PNW palate. Since chilaquiles is a traditional Mexican dish, I expected it to have the level of spiciness Mexican food is known for. Unfortunately, mine didn't quite deliver on that. I love my food with a kick and that's what I expected from a Mexican dish. On to the Cajeta Pancakes , I absolutely loved my pancakes. These were so delicious that I wish I ordered more of the caramel on the side. I obviously did not finish my meal and ended up packing it to go, but I'm regretting not asking for more caramel (or whatever sauce it is). Price for all what we ordered came to $93. Overall this was a great brunch place and would definitely go back for their lunch and dinner. read more

We love going out for breakfast so any place that is open at the hour needs to be tried. This is a really large place and we asked the server if they were busier in the evening since we were only one of two booths occupied. He said yes, they have karaoke on some nights and it gets very crowded. Lots of things that have a Mexican flavor which is sort of fun. Nice extensive menu for both breakfast and dinner/lunch. My husband had biscuits and gravy which he said tasted good but not enough sausage. Came with both eggs and potatoes so plenty. I had Chilaquilies Verde which were totally delicious. A large pile of fresh corn chips with a yummy green chile sauce and eggs on top. There was also a side of refried beans. The spice level was perfect for breakfast and I brought home a bunch of chips to heat up and have later. I did have a choice of red or green sauce. we will for sure go back and try lunch. read more

We stopped in for brunch. Overall the food was decent and lots of seating inside and out. My wife's breakfast potatoes were a little cold when we got them but seasoned well. The birria omelet was also good if you like to add sauce and things to your food otherwise would be a little bland. The cheese in the middle is delicious though. The kids cheese pizza has marina sauce on the sour side with the pizza being more bread forward. They do like their spice for the dishes with peppers so if you like spicy you should enjoy those. Overall the restaurant has a lot of potential, great/personable service, and we will stop back in to try some additional dishes in the future. The price was also very reasonable compared to other restaurants. This is also a good place for kids during the day with the noise level and multiple TVs so you won't feel bad if you have a slightly louder/energetic kid (like us) or give them a phone or tablet to watch while you eat. read more

Got to try breakfast at the New Local. What a nice, clean BIG space! This was known in kent to be such a dive bar so many avoided the area but i implore you to give them a try. Service was friendly and attentive too. So as for the food, I tried the tre leches pancakes as well as the Nuevo Local scramble. While both were fine, nothing that blew me away. I have had many a tres leches cake so thought the pancakes would be "soaked" in tres leches, moist. Alas, while fluffy, tasted like regular pancakes to me. I saw this place was new late spring when I was next door at Dollar Tree. Being a bar, I honestly didn't pay it much mind. In a recent search, it came up as a Mexican bar, so I decided to check them out. We came in for breakfast, so it was empty because it was a weekday. There was one guy there, that told us he was drunk and hung over, but they continued to serve him. I was seriously tempted to call State Patrol to warn them, but I decided to leave it up to bar staff. They needed to stop serving him and ensure he does attempt to drive. Anyway... I had the breakfast burrito, It was large, I honestly couldn't even finish it. It was okay. I really didn't love the sausage, but who knows, maybe bacon would have been a better choice, that said, it was kinda dry. I think they needed more cheese or beans to make it less dense. There was salsa, hot sauce and sour cream on the side, but again, for me, it just wasn't an item I'd recommend. The potatoes were amazing and as silly as it sounds, the best breakfast potatoes I've ever had. Seasoned and crisp. I'd like to come back for lunch or dinner, but I'm a bit skeptical after my breakfast. Eggs are hard to get wrong and I have to say, they didn't get it right. Nice people, service was slow, but I wouldn't tell you to pass, check it out, form your own opinion. Maybe after the place is better reviewed, I'll make my way back to try a dinner combo. I found an amazing restaurant today! Saw earlier reviews and decided to stop in for lunch. The parking is ample and when walking inside, I was astounded by how spacious the interior looked. The tables, floors, and deco looked so clean. Ambiance was relaxing with some light Latino music playing. There was even a stage for live music and karaoke. The waitress was very kind and we felt welcomed there. Their menu displayed a good assortment of breakfast, lunch, and dinner selections with Mexican and American choices. I ordered the cowboy burger with a side of Caesar salad. My wife ordered the birria omelot. My Caesar salad looked fresh and the first mouthful was just as good as the last. They had given me a perfectly balanced Caesar salad that exceeded what I've had at most Italian restaurants. Bravo!! The cowboy burger with crunchy onion strings, bacon, and bbq sauce was equally awesome! Ordered it medium rare and it was cooked just right. Flavor was balanced and the meat tasted excellent. Best burger I've had since Pigfish Cafe in Burien. My wife enjoyed her birria omelet too and it was easy to add this restaurant into our rotation of preferred dining out options. This area of Kent may not look like much, but once you step inside the restaurant you'll forget about that since the vibe is so relaxing. But definitely go for the food!
