They've updated the sound and lighting systems. They've also done some work around the stage, repainted and cleaned the interior and semi fixed up the restrooms. This is a fun little venue. Whoever you come to see will look and sound good and you should have a good time.

It was an all-ages show, and yes there was a baby at the bar. I mean the baby was in his mom's arms, but there was a baby at the bar. I guess they take "all ages" literally in LFK. The staff was friendly from entry to exit. not an overly crowded venue. It seems you could pluck this venue from its location and move it to Westport in KCMO and it would fit right in. The place was fairly crowded and noisy at 6pm on a Saturday. The drinks were priced well and our waitress was awesome. We ordered a side of fries to get some food in our belly and we certainly won't make that mistake again - processed mashed potatoes formed into fat spiral shapes are not French Fries!!! My only complaint. After the concert we crossed back over the tracks and paid $5 cover charge for more drinks and to listen to Dating Sarah - fantastic cover band that had the place rocking at 10pm. We stayed for 2 sets and had a great time. I really liked the old school dive bar vibe in an old building that seemed out of place for Johnson County's upper middle class suburban aesthetic. A repeat return for all my future Green Guitar events and maybe some pizza next time - and for the love of god Jerry, get a new french fry distributor.

I was excited to go with my wife and parents to see The Truetones as my mom is a huge Beatles fan. I underestimated how much it would fill up so we stood up near the stage. Though we would not have expected this, Aztec's staff was very kind to offer us any available seats. I do wish there was more standing room available and I wish there was a larger variety of music that played here. However, the classic rock cover bands I've seen here put on a GREAT show. I'm glad to have this place in my local community.

I liked the spacious game room, which had two pool tables, two Golden Tee games, a pinball machine, and four dart boards. The L-shaped bar was nicely done, with a large main seating area, plenty of TVs, classic rock background music (not too loud), and a patio. Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. I call it the…read moreKansas Opera House :). This massive performing arts center is like a State pride for Kansas City, Missouri. It reminded me of the famed Opera House in Australia, except that this one is at a crossroad, not near any sort of water body, and much closer to home in US !  Kansas , Missouri has been historically known for its jazz, classical music and theatre. It has this typical theatrical staging for an auditorium with all the seats facing the same way towards the stage, which is framed by an arch- this setting also has a fancy name - its called  Proscenium Arch ( pruh-see-ni-um - I had to ask google how to pronounce it ...lol)It is a non-profit theatre !!!!  Wow! Built to promote dance, opera, music , it is perfect for the city to live up to its reputation of being widely recognized destination for vibrant and colorful arts. It has two big halls interconnected with a foyer, its simply impressively massive and absolutely stunning architecture.  I read from the brochure that Acoustical considerations factored into every architectural decision of the building, right from the shape of the hall to the grain of the wood paneling. And also that it seats 1600 guests at a time. Located at the heart of downtown Kansas on 16th and Broadway, it is near the  city's Power & Light District, the T-Mobile Center and the Crossroads Arts District with plenty of parking within, but if you don't want to get stuck after a performance, it is better to take a cab here.

One on one street dance battle where the crowd decides who's the winner, red or blue, with wands that were handed out, narrowing the competition down to the final two.
