I've been to the rooftop at Clermont before, but my friends and I wanted to check it out again since it's been a while and we were curious about their trivia night! We were a bit nervous because it was supposed to rain, but we were pleasantly surprised to find a big tent covering most of the rooftop bar. The only thing I'd suggest for that setup is a fan--it was super humid, and we started to sweat! Luckily, we snagged a spot near the edge of the tent, so we caught a little breeze instead of being stuck in the middle with no airflow. Before trivia kicked off, we all rushed to the bar for drinks. They had this cool Dune-inspired cocktail menu, and most of us went for the Arrakis drink, which had tequila, watermelon, and ginger. It was delicious and not too sweet, just how we like it! Trivia was a blast (it was Dirty South Trivia for those who know!), and the host was hilarious and kept things moving smoothly. Our group might have lost pretty badly, but that didn't stop us from having a great time! I'd definitely love to come back for trivia night again! read more

This location has valet parking but I decided to park near by and walk about 2 blocks. Once you enter the hotel, going to the rooftop isn't hard. They have signs that point you to the right direction. Drinks were delicious and strong. The specially drink menu was small and $14+ for drinks. The staff were very friendly and the view of the city was fabulous. Like many other reviews stated, I probably won't be back but it's cool to check out at least once if you're in ATL. I used to hit up the rooftop bar before the renovations and loved it. Since it has reopened, myself and a few of my seasoned friends went to enjoy the new rooftop scene and were rather disappointed. It was nice to have a few signature drinks and more than one bartender.We enjoyed the quality of the drinks even though the lines were long. Things that were not cool: 1. We had to each pay $5 to go up to the rooftop. #WHY????? 2. The astro turf is uneven and has dips in it. I tripped a few times and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Major safety hazard. 3. It was super crowded that you could hardly have a convo. 4. The crowd was all younglings in their 20's and 30's. It would have been nice to have a bigger mixture of folks but looks like the rooftop belongs to Gen Z'ers..UGH!! Beautiful hotel and restaurant but the rooftop is no longer welcoming to folks 40+. I have mixed feelings about the Hotel Clermont rooftop. I'm sure it is on plenty of "must see and do" in Atlanta, and I won't contest that recommendation. I've been here with my friends and with my classmates for senior night during college. Their drinks are definitely very strong and in the $15-$20 range. There are maybe about 10 drink options on the menu. I have tried one of their sandwiches and it was good but not spectacular. The view cannot be beat, and there is plenty of seating. As well as different types of seating for different types of friends and evenings. The bathrooms are also super clean! I would maybe try to add the basement Clermont Lounge to your night. I have also heard of the karaoke downstairs but haven't tried yet. read more

First off: some other reviews appear to have confused this place with the nearby but COMPLETELY different Skyline Park (rooftop games, restaurants, drinks) at Ponce City Market. This business is the Rooftop of the Clermont Hotel, which is a smaller rooftop area primarily good for evening food/drinks. Wanted to do some late night drinks with a view after dinner, so came here a little before 11 pm with a large group of girlfriends on a Saturday night. First off, the view of ATL from here is LOVELY and we liked that it wasn't super crowded when we first arrived. That said, the wait for drinks here is kind of insane. They had 1 bartender working on a Saturday night and he seemed to take forever to make even simple drinks. After waiting almost 30 min in line for drinks (at which point the place got progressively more crowded), someone then announced it was last call and the bar would close at midnight, which was tough when we hadn't even ordered a first round of drinks. Most folks in my group ended up getting cocktails, and I found my daiquiri overly sweet and definitely not worth the wait, particularly because the roof is so cold (due to the windiness of being on the roof + no heat lamps or anything to make you feel more comfortable). Suffice to say our trip was short lived here. A nice place to stop in just for the view/picture opportunities, but I don't know if I'd come here again for anything more than that. We went with a group of 4 people at 4:00 pm on a Saturday and it wasn't too crowded at that time. Great views, lots of seating. The bartenders were super nice. They don't have too many options for cocktails on their menu. I tried the Feelin' Frisky ($12), Rock, Paper, Saler's ($13), and the (Your Name Here) ($13). I liked the first two, but wasn't a huge fan of the last. They definitely need to have food up there - at the very least, they need some snacks. Ambiance: unbeatable. Like who doesn't love a rooftop bar that overlooks the beautiful city. And seating is super cute (limited when it gets busy, and sometimes people aren't friendly enough to share their tables). Their drinks are overpriced for what you get and not super strong so I wouldn't say come here to get drunk with your friends...it's more so for the view if you're wanting some Instagram photos. But don't let the subpar reviews deter you from going. It's definitely worth a visit!! read more

It is what it is. The staff is amazing. It wasn't a earth shattering can't wait to go back experience but it is an amazing venue to meetup with friends for a post work cocktail situation or vibing with a date before heading to the main act. I LOVE the tent on the roof right now. I can admittedly say that I haven't added The Rooftop to my rotation because it's been raining so much in the city. The tent needs to stay. It opens up soany opportunities to kick it without the fear of being rained out. Drinks- we had a Cosmonaut and (_________), they were OK. The drinks give me dive bar meets Ruby Tuesdays. The Rooftop at Hotel Clermont is pretty cool. There are some other cool rooftops with similar views in the vicinity, such as those at New Realm Brewing and Ponce City Market, so I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to come here. The best thing about it: there's no cover/admission charge. The Rooftop is newly renovated and looks nice. It opened in June 2018 alongside the restored hotel which had been inactive since 2009. You can access the Rooftop from an elevator in the hotel lobby. As soon as we stepped out of the elevator, the Rooftop immediately reminded me of a couple other rooftop/bars I've been to in some hipster-friendly cities: Bar 96 in Austin (https://www.yelp.com/biz/bar-96-austin) and Paradise Park Trailer Resort in Nashville (https://www.yelp.com/biz/paradise-park-trailer-resort-nashville). It's probably no coincidence that Oliver Hospitality, the owner of Hotel Clermont since 2012 and the company responsible for restoring this property, is based in Nashville. The Rooftop looks a lot like a bar you might find there. Like the aforementioned bars, the Rooftop has a fun, lively atmosphere sporting a cabana-style bar with TVs, music, food, and lots of artificial turf with a variety of lawn furniture (loungers, tables and chairs) and games like giant Jenga. The views of Ponce De Leon Ave below and the surrounding Poncey-Highland and Virginia-Highland neighborhoods are great. The best views are off the western edge of the Rooftop -- the Downtown and Midtown Atlanta skylines make great backdrops for photos. The highlight is perhaps the iconic and retro Hotel Clermont sign which towers above and illuminates the Rooftop in neon red at night. I mean, is it expensive? Totally. 4 veggie skewers cost $12 and the burger ran $20. Was the food delicious? It was...pretty good. The skewers were nice, although I preferred the "Korean" seasoning vastly over the "French/Provence" seasoning (too tart). The patty in the burger was 100%, excellent and excellently cooked. Everything else about the burger was just okay (good Boston Bibb lettuce and cheddar but nothing to write home about). And the chips were severely undersalted. But service was friendly and the views are great, so not much to complain about despite the high prices! read more

The atmosphere was absolutely amazing and fun! We went during the perfect time while the sun was setting. There's the skyline view w/ the different colors in the sky, you can imagine. The way getting up to the roof was an experience itself. There's mini golf & lots of fun carnival like games that you can pay to play. Not to mention, there's a whole slide! What a cool spot! I wish we had a place like this back home. This place was recommend by a friend that lives here in Atlanta. It cost $15 per person just to go up. Issa whole fraud if you reserve the igloo, please make sure you go out to eat before you come to the rooftop cause that menu will not suffice and they were out of everything so we ended up just getting wine and chitchatting for 2 hours. Potential, but a total miss and just not worthwhile. Ownership and management have given up. +view of ATL skyline, music is chill -lights don't work; bartender is obviously "over it"; drinks are disgusting unless you order a can of beer. Conclusion: An absolute disappointment. There are PLENTY of more worthwhile spots to spend your time and money. Maybe save this for a night where you're just desperate for somewhere to go and all of the great/decent places have too long of a wait. read more

First time visiting the rooftop of Ponce City Market. My sister and nephew were visiting and decided to check it out. Really cool concept of having carnival games, food, and drink on the roof top. We enjoyed playing different games, having cocktails while having a great view of the city. While most of the games are outdoors, there is an area where you can can go that has a bar and a few games to cool off. Definitely a place to go for something different to do. read more

However, the bee/wasp infestation has forced the bar to serve only canned/bottled beer and wine for far too long at this point. And sadly, even given the lack of sugary drinks on the menu, the wasps still swarm. If you have any fear or aversion to wasps or bees at all, sadly, the newly opened rooftop bar at the Clermont is not for you. On top of the lack of beverages (which is kind of a key cornerstone for a bar...), the service is pretty bad. Considering that they weren't even crowded when I stopped by at 5:30 on a weekday, it took way too long to get a server's attention while I was seated AT the bar. They were too busy bemoaning the wasp/bee situation amongst each other and complaining about its impact on business. And, the drinks are served in plastic cups. Given the swanky and beautifully designed setting, I would have expected something a little classier, not something that takes me back to a college bar. Because it's in my 'hood, I'll definitely be back (also, see A+++++ skyline views). Hopefully, by then they will have fixed the bug issue and gotten servers who make it a pleasure to give them my money. read more

The views from this rooftop bar are A+ on a good day. That's one major draw for its location. The bar is well stocked with a variety of local beers, decent wine, and liquor of course. It does get pretty busy on a nice evening, so keep that in mind when visiting. Parking can be a pain. I tried to valet my car, but you have to go to the front of the hotel in order to do that. The side that I came from, trying to turn left onto the main road in traffic, then left again into the hotel was practically impossible. So I opted for street parking just a few steps away. There seemed to be a side entrance but the valet attendant said I had to use the front side. The restrooms were also nice and clean, which is wonderful considering it's a bar. read more

Great view, but not much atmosphere. If you go, get there early or you won't have anywhere to sit. Mixed drinks seem a little over-priced. Several other rooftop bars/restaurants in the city that I would choose, but I would also be willing to return if someone else made the choice. Overall = meh, but not awful. read more

Security / service here is awful, they will treat you like you're unwelcome as soon as you walk in. We made a reservation with the hostess, received a notification that our table was ready, and were told to go up to our table. Nothing was open so, we went back down, where we were verbally insulted to check ourselves by "security" and happily left.
