A chic place in Georgetown with a great view. The location and the atmosphere are definitely a great place to grab a drink or two after shopping. However, the place is quite expensive and there's no full service ( at least when I went on a Friday afternoon). Overall it's is a great location and worth a visit.

After miscommunication about their official opening date (thanks Thrillist! tsk tsk) and turned away the first time due to a closed party, I came back at the manager's request and was able to check out the Observatory Rooftop Bar and Lounge for some cocktails this past weekend. All Cocktails are handcrafted or you can choose from their wide selection of liquor. Sit and admire the Rosslyn and DC monument backdrop. The bar and lounge is beautiful: Wood patio, glass, wicker furniture reminiscent of a Miami escape, but panoramic views of Rosslyn and the DC monuments, tres sexy. Finally a beautiful rooftop bar and lounge on top of the Graham Georgetown Hotel open to the public just in time for the spring/summer 2013! 3000 square foot rooftop bar and lounge to be exact- Just what DC needs!

If your looking for an excellent place to unwind outside during the spring and summer, The Rooftop of the Graham Hotel is just about the best public rooftop bar to do so in DC. Table service is reasonable and you can drink champagne all afternoon comfortable couches. The drinks are excellent and the service is first rate. When it comes to planning a party, the staff is very accommodating. The views are beyond fabulous at The Rooftop. They aren't as monument specific as the terrace at the W, but the view of Georgetown, DC and Virginia are unmatched by anything similar. At sunset this is the best place to be in the city to see the lights and look upon M street. Tip: Have dinner at The Alex downstairs, this place is pretty killer as well.

No drink menu, only bottle service menu. No food (the website says they do) and no happy hour. There is a dress code. No athletic wear. I wanted to like it but it really was less than stellar. You certainly pay for the view which is just ok.

Amazing views and delicious cocktails. Come dressed to meet their dress code and you won't be disappointed

3 1/2 stars. Located in the Graham hotel, this place has a really good rooftop view of Georgetown. The ambiance to me was their best attribute. The Friday night I went though, It was kinda empty. Not sure if it was a slow night. Service and drink prices were pretty standard for DC. I'd say my experience here was pretty decent.

Happy hour (3-7) offers beers ranging $1-3, wine $4-6, $7 margs, and I think a few other drink specials, but those options were good enough for me and I went with the wine. Service was a little slow at first, but the one bartender working was friendly and cheerful and doing her best to keep up with everyone until another two eventually showed up or came back from break. Atmosphere was really chill. I liked the dim lighting, everyone was casual and relaxed with a dj setting up in the corner, some hip hop and classic 00s rap bumping, and a steady flow of young-ish friend groups coming in for cheap beer around 5pm. I tried not to evesdrop on the couple next to me at the bar arguing, but their fight sort of added to the entertainment and general vibe. On the other side of me was an adorable couple unsuspectedly ordering fruity drinks and laughing. Totally will be back whenever the end of my work day brings me to this area.

This is such a perfect spot for either a date night or a fun night out with friends. The speakeasy vibe, the chic atmosphere, and the music (a smooth, chill house mix) all come together so effortlessly. Plus, being open until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays is a huge bonus. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time - this place stays busy for a reason. From my previous visit, I remember having a ravioli dish, what I believe was a braised beef, and their sliders with duck fat fries - all of which were incredible and clearly memorable since I was thinking about them for months. The sliders paired with those fries were honestly a standout. This time around, we had to get the duck fat fries again, and they were just as phenomenal as I remembered. The cheesesteak oysters were easily a 10/10 - fresh, meaty, and honestly surprising coming from someone who used to not even like oysters. We also tried the grilled octopus, which was well-seasoned (as expected, slightly chewy), and the fried calamari, which was light, not heavy at all, and paired perfectly with the sauces. The tuna tartare was another standout - super fresh, soft, and practically melted in your mouth. For drinks, we went all in. The Dirty Diamond martini with blue cheese olives was great, though if you like your martinis extra filthy, I'd recommend specifying that. The Hemingway Special had a nice subtle sour kick, and the vanilla mint espresso martini was strong (you can definitely taste the alcohol) but still smooth and frothy. The Mary Pickford with Malibu was surprisingly delicious - almost like a mocktail. The Paloma was solid, and the Code Red cocktail gave me slight cosmopolitan vibes. But the real star was the dulce de leche espresso martini--absolutely unforgettable. What really ties everything together here is the service. The staff - from the hosts to the servers - are attentive, welcoming, and genuinely elevate the experience. Overall, Code Red is one of those places you keep coming back to. If you're looking for a stylish speakeasy atmosphere with great food, drinks, and energy, this is it.

When our party of 4 arrived, the host took us to the rear area of the restaurant. It was extremely noisy, however much cooler than the main dining area. We asked if we could please be sat in main area as this was my friends first time and we had looked forward to sharing the experience with them. She then let us know that because of the weather it was not as cool and was much warmer. We didn't mind so they went ahead and changed it. Considering I had made reservations it would have been nice to have been sat at a table as closest to the open window. Not sure if this is something you must request when making reservation but it seemed all the tables were marked reserved. That would be my tip when making reservations to ask for a table where you are sitting right at the window. I preferred the shrimp cocktail ($26) it was very refreshing. The shrimp were big and the dipping sauce was delicious. My friend ordered the steak and Buratta salad ($50), She enjoyed it. Our husbands ordered the crab cake ($48) and they said they were very good. We ordered drinks. Moscow mules and gin and tonics which were doubles, and the Witness tampered. If you don't have a budget then enjoy your time there. I believe most places in DC are pricey. My opinion is we had drinks with small plates and I have added the total. Also we only had 4 in our party and the receipt says we had 6, which allowed them to force the tip on bill. Our gratuity was put on there by server so we didn't add to it. Not sure why this was like that.
