Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Longmont. It is a must when you are in the area. They have other GREAT restaurants as part of this restaurant group, but The Roost is my fave. I LOVE the Ahi Tuna Poke Nachos, the Steak Frites and the green chili cheese tot-choes! Oh and the buffalo Cauli. You pretty much can't go wrong. They have an amazing dog-friendly patio on the rooftop, which is amazing during the summer. It is beautiful up there and so nice they allow dogs. There is so much space inside, so it's a great place to have a large reservation or gathering (just make reservations in advance) and the staff is so kind and friendly. They also have an amazing bar program and are always switching up the seasonal cocktails. Their spritz game this summer was on fleeeeeek. Can't wait to visit this winter and check out their seasonal dessert offerings. Always go for the cheesecake! read more

I used to like this place a lot. Food good, prices ok, drinks fine. However, my last visit--and I mean that--was awful. One small drink, a salad, and a dessert cost over$80! The salad was a Cobb. Came here on a Friday night around 7:15pm. We managed to secure a table upstairs on the rooftop and it was great weather for it. The server was super friendly and immediately brought us waters for the table. Two of our party ordered the coq au vin and it was a hefty plate of food! Easy to find, I guess they have roof top seating but we ate inside. I was expecting more chicken dishes but they have a nice variety of other options so we got to try a couple different options and both were very good. A Longmont gem! I don't know how I hadn't heard of this place before, but it was a lovely location for lunch with a friend. It was pretty busy for midday on a Sunday! The atmosphere is clean & fresh with a rustic feel, and the staff were all kind & welcoming. Our waiter was very attentive in refilling water and asking how we were, but not overly so. This is a dream for gluten free/celiac as they have a gluten free fryer and the waiter assured me they are very careful with cross contamination. There are plenty of clearly marked gluten free options in every menu category. This alone makes it a standout for me and I will definitely be back! My friend and I both ordered the burrito bowl, which was a great spin on a takeout item with a filling portion. The only The Roost doesn't seem to be able to do is mediocrity. Everything is phenomenal including food, service, and ambiance! I'll start with the ambiance: casual, modern, fun, gorgeous. There's indoor seating, outdoor seating, and rooftop seating. Our server was Steven and we loved him from the moment he greeted us. He's just kind and welcoming, knowledgeable and down to earth, really enthusiastic about the menu and about the area. The food, OMG the food! Other reviews said the bangin' cauliflower was bangin' so obviously we had to try it and it didn't miss. Flavorful and spicy with the perfect amount of crunch! I had their guacamole burger with the vegan patty and my husband had the short rib tacos. Both were sooooo good with generous portion sizes. They have an extensive mocktail menu and I had the delicious no-jito. We were stuffed but wanted to try the carrot cake. As someone who historically does not like carrot cake, I gotta say I was shocked to fall in love with this warm spiced layer cake served with a melt-in-your-mouth cream cheese icing and vanilla bean ice cream plus caramel drizzle and candied pecans for some extra razzle dazzle. Delicious food, great service, generous portions. The Roost is located in downtown historic Longmont in a rustic building with all the modern and classy elements such as large sliding windows that can open the dining room to outdoors, a lovely roof patio with umbrellas & tables and a cute bar area that reminds me of being at the beach. Excellent cocktails, and a wide variety of food choices. We had the beef short ribs which was very tender and came in a large portion without the bone, with mashed potatoes and veggies. We also had a salad that included some roasted squash as well as the cauliflower appetizers. It was a good balance of flavors and we were so full that we didn't have room for dessert. While we were at the restaurant, we sat on the rooftop but then it started raining. Our server was quick to move us downstairs into the dining room. Nice! read more

We went here for my wife's birthday lunch and have nothing but positive reviews. The atmosphere of this restaurant is great and the staff is super friendly. The food was EPIC and I love that the place uses local vendors for their ingredients. The salmon and the bourbon blue burger were delicious and were paired nicely with a jalapeño margarita and an old fashioned respectively. The dessert options were great too. Got the "steak frites" and tuna sandwich. Tuna sandwich was killer. The "steak frites" was also pretty good, but it should definitely be called fries w beef and bacon or something. I've had a lot of steak frites, this was like 5 pieces of what I have to assume was pre cooked beef on fries with an equal amount of bacon bits as steak. Tastes great, but I would have happily paid 5-10 $ more for an actual steak frites if I had known or if it had been a menu option. Service was great and it's a cool restaurant! This place was just okay to us. We stopped in for lunch on a Monday, and the service was better than the food. The atmosphere of the place was really cute though so I was hoping for more. I had a pomegranate spritz cocktail, which was refreshing and light- 6/10. I had a Cuban and fries for my entree. The sandwich itself looked great, but left much to be desired- 4/10. It was just bland and lacked flavor. The tastiest thing on the plate was probably the house pickles. Fries were okay, maybe a little bit over for my taste, but seasoning was good. After reading the reviews and scoping out the Happy Hour menu I knew The Roost was the place we needed to stop in at on our drive to Cheyenne from Denver. We got there around 5pm and seated right away at the bar. It was pretty quiet even with social distancing in place. Our bartender, Max, was exceptional. Friendly, knowledgeable, and made us some quality drinks. Cosmo for me and a Mexican mule for the hubby. Happy Hour drinks were $6-$7. What more can you ask for? Well the food here was pretty damn good too! We stuck to the Happy Hour menu and wasn't disappointed in the least. My husband made a face when I ordered the polenta bites but it quickly turned into a smile when he tasted them. Dusted in Parmesan over a smoked tomato purée then topped with goat cheese and finished with a drizzle of balsamic reduction these polenta bites were outstanding. All the flavors complimented each other without any one overpowering the other. The Mojo pork tostadas had three ingredients: pork shoulder, Asian slaw, and pico de gallo. Simple and fabulous! We finished Happy Hour with another round of drinks (Hobo for me and the agave margarita for my husband) and the warm carrot cake for dessert. The candied pecans on top added a nice touch to the already delicious carrot cake and ice cream. The Roost hit the trifecta for us: quality drinks, tasty food, and great service. Five stars for me and hopefully a return visit if my travels take me that way again. read more

A very pleasant outdoor dining experience during covid. Our servers were extremely nice, always wore masks and gave great service. Our local friends eat here once a week and said the service was consistently good. We hit happy hour on Sunday (happy hour 5 to 8 Sunday thru Thursday), and the place was very busy. On happy hour, their coconut daiquiri was delicious. Their pitcher of rhubarb mojito was tasty but a little watered down by the ice. Their shishito mushrooms were excellent, as are the sliders, cauliflower, and tater tot selections. A fun happy hour spot. They have large windows that open up to feel like you are outside when inside, and a rooftop bar, so plenty of space to spread out. There is a parking lot behind the restaurant. read more

We started out with the Grilled Avocado ($9) and Hummus Flight ($15) - all of us loved both of the items. The avocado was pretty unique. Our group ordered the Steak Frites ($17), Roost Burger ($15), Squash Lettuce Wraps ($13) and 60 South Salmon ($21). ATMOSPHERE; The place looks cool from the outside, but NOTHING has been invested into the atmosphere of the dining room. It is worn out, uninspired, drab, and dreary! FOOD; We both ordered the Ahi Tuna torta. The bread was not heated, toasted, or grilled. My lunch companion said hers tasted old. My tuna was tough and unchewable. Our fries were the scraps and too small to pick up. Contradictory to the website, this is not a "farm to table" menu. When I mentioned to people the hubs and I were coming for lunch with friends, everyone said we were in for a treat. They were not wrong. We started with the banging cauliflower. Two orders actually. Both disappeared in a hot second. For my lunch I decided on the roasted squash lettuce wraps. These were outstanding. All of the parts were perfectly seasoned and then you put it all together and it was magic. The hubs went with pork tacos and was also super happy with his choice. It's still official. The Roost is definitely my heart and soul. I've been waiting their return to Longmont and never fail to miss a post. Last night: Thursday they did a re-grand opening for 3 hours, and you bet I was there at 6pm. I could NOT wait to try their new menu options. 1. Burrata: the waitress was not joking, this has to be my FAVORITE addition to their menu. It was amazing, delicious, creamy, and so filling. It was worth every penny. 2. Hawaiian Pork Belly: this was melt in your mouth AMAZING! It is definitely on the pricey side, but to me anything at this place is worth it. 3. Bangin Cauliflower: still worth getting every single time. My favorite dish that continues to amaze is the Steak Frites, we invited a new friend to come along and he fell in LOVE. Desserts: 1. Hawaiian Butter Mochi: amazing, I would personally like the fruit on the side, but great concept and great flavor. 2. Whiskey Chocolate Torte: VERY rich! It was good, but I would prefer something not as rich. Nice dark chocolate flavor. 3. Sweet Potato Cheesecake: Oh my FLUFF! It did taste like pumpkin and I am okay with that. I really wanted to like this place more however our experience was pretty average. Despite being a large party of 9 people, our waiter was fantastic! He paced our meal well and gave us recommendations on his favorite meals. Our favorite part of the meal was the bangin' cauliflower app. It was spicy and crispy! Others at the table had Caesar and house salads which they enjoyed. We ordered the steak frites and the short rib. Both dishes, the meat was lacking seasoning. The steak in the steak frites was chewy and there were 6 pieces on top of what looked like a pound of French fries and wayyyy too much bacon. It was more like a meal of fries with a side of steak. The short rib was tender and fell apart but a little dry. The mashed potatoes on that dish were my favorite part. A different member of our party got the lamb gyro dish, and again, thought the meat wasn't seasoned well. Same with the salmon dish. Overall, underwhelmed by our experience. I came here with a couple friends on a late Friday night. We were seated pretty promptly without a reservation, which was great, but our experience with our server soured the rest of the experience. Our server got multiple things wrong. He brought my spouse a beer he never asked for and gave me my short rib tacos on a sandwich, which isn't even an option listed on their menu. We ordered some poutine as an appetizer, and while it is meant to share, four of use could only each a couple fries each. When he brought us the bill, the mistaken items were still on there (it's an extra $1.50 for a sandwich version apparently), and we had to ask him twice to remove the things we didn't order. read more

This is worst restaurant experience I have ever had. I made a reservation a week prior to the reservation. My kids were graduating from high school and we were celebrating birthdays. My parents are from out of town and don't hear well. I was told I would get the wine room. We had to wait and then we're seated in the bar which was very loud. There were plenty of open tables for the other party which made there reservation after we did. The hostess was rude and said the other reservation was for 3 more people and that's why they got the wine room. The waitress wouldn'tgive us another drink menu and was very rude about it.
