Went here for the first time for the Eclipse party. What a great excuse to eat ice cream! I ordered the Windy City Dog ($7.99) while hubby got the Cod Fish sandwich ($7.99) & a side of fries ($5.29). We both got Dole Whips for dessert. Hubby didn't even want to go here but ended up liking his cod sandwich & Dole Whip. Both of us agreed the fries were way overpriced & not that good. My "Chicago dog" was a little pricey & just okay - way too much mustard that overwhelmed the other flavors. I would order it again with the mustard on the side. The cod sandwich was huge & tasty - highly recommend. Our car hop took good care of us & we tipped her accordingly. We would like to return here & support a locally owned family restaurant. Looking forward to trying the burgers!

Being that I absolutely love Root Beer, I had to give the Root Beer Stande a shot! Pulled up and sat for a moment, I thought this was a car hop but I figured that maybe things had changed so I got out of the car and that prompted the waitress to come and greet me. She gave us an updated menu that had a lot more to choose from. I ordered the Hanky Panky Burger basket. The Hanky Panky is a bacon cheeseburger with a special sauce and grilled cheese sandwiches for buns. The basket came with fries and a drink, so I obviously got a root beer. The waitress advised me that they are cash only, but she could accept Cash App. I ended up Cash Apping her for my meal and the food came out fairly quickly. The burger looked amazing and it was! My only complaint with my burger would be that I wish it had a little more of the secret sauce. The fries were standard-issue crinkle fries, but they were hot so that was a plus! The house root beer was a bit underwhelming because it lacked the kick that usually comes with most root beers. I will likely try the red cream soda when I return. My wife got the Phillio Cheesesteak and she said the meat was good, but the veggies were heavily salted. She also got an order of fried mushrooms, and she really enjoyed them. We both agreed that we would definitely try them again in the future! Hanky Panky Burger 1-5=4.9! Fries 1-5=3.5. Root Beer 1-5=2. Customer Service 1-5=4.

Not today. Lol. Love the food here! Show them love! Roxannenicole0 insta

While visiting the Dayton Ohio area we stopped at the Root Beer Stande. I saw that it was the Retro Old Fashioned Curb Service and it was Hot Dogs and Root Beer what a wonderful Nostalgic foodie adventure. We pulled in and the waitress was there "Toot-sweet". I ordered 2 Hot Dogs with Chili, Mustard and Onions. They do not put Cole Slaw on the Dogs here I also ordered a large Root Beer, which I was hoping was HOMEMADE but not..Tony had his own Beverage of Choice in the car already. The food was good! The Chili or sauce on the dog was very good but the onions were strong from being a little old maybe a day or so. But I would eat here again, strong onions don't keep me away!!! I recommend this nice little Mom and Pop Retro Foodie Adventure!!!

    No cash only sign!

Horrible service ! Complicated payment ! It is definitely not worth your day to be there !

This is a place I assumed I'd been before, and maybe I had, long ago, but never reviewed. It's a real old-time root beer stand (why the extra "e"?) You park, and they come to serve you, using a tray on your window if you want. I was here for the root beer, mainly, but had some lunch too, and it was all good. The root beer came in a heavy frosted mug. Nice head, great flavor. Tasted homemade (though they have a Frostop sign, so I'm not sure.) I had the "super burger" which is two patties, mayo, lettuce, tomato, cheese, etc. A really good burger. Thin patties with good flavor. Good bun and toppings. Also had fried cauliflower. Again, very good. Service was good. Prices are reasonable (all of the above for $10.) It's a nice place for nostalgia and root beer, but also a really good lunch or dinner.

a hot dog and french fries

Living in east Dayton 60 years and being at root beer stand can't count how many times in my youth. I have not been in several years. This is what I got today after spending $20. 2 short hot dogs and 2 fries. Kids could only eat a few of the fries they were so under cooked. The hot dogs were no better than what you can get at speedway for $1 a piece. Avoid this place like the plague!!!

I have been three times. Came once for the opening, I had the burger, my fiancé had a steak dish and we shared the hummus. The burger was good, but frites were dry and my meal was so greasy. My fiancé didn't love the steak. The hummus was good but served with spiced tortilla chips like Doritos. Would have been much better with pita bread or more veggies. The next time I came with a group of girl friends. We shared several small plates, including the corndog shrimp and the pimento cheese. I also got the Chopped salad for my main. Appetizers were very good, salad was just meh. Third time we came for an early dinner. I got the BBQ Bacon Ranch Salad and fiancé got the burger. Salad was not very good, just an odd mix of flavors. Fiancé said burger was good. They changed the fries but he wasn't impressed with these either. The drinks and wine list are excellent. Would love it if the bar stayed open later Thurs- Saturday and offered more small plates and appetizers. I really hope they figure out the menu and execution because it could be such a great restaurant.

We met our kids in Dayton, which is about a halfway point for us each, for lunch this Saturday. We'd been wanting a good burger so I started looking for options and when I saw this place it was a no brainer. Slyders did not disappoint! The burgers are done on a flat top that's probably been in their kitchen since they opened in 1948. Talk about flavor!! The burger is good quality, tender, and full of great beef flavor, cranked out on that flat top to a crispy brown exterior. Great fresh tomato, lettuce, onion, pickles and cheese make this burger oh so good!! Add a basket of perfectly fried HUGE onion rings and a cold beer, there's nothing better!! Top top it off the service was incredible. We had 3 or 4 guys stopping by checking on drinks, napkins, ect... The energy in this bar was comfortable and you felt like you were a "regular" even if you'd never stepped in the door before in your life. With big bear hugs and handshakes we left full of great food and a warm soul. Slyders is going on my "ride for a burger" list this summer on the bikes. It'll be well worth 2hr ride to get there!! .

The decor has changed since the last time I visited (more moody & cozy color scheme) but it still is and always has been a vibe!!! On my most recent visit I got an iced vanilla matcha with oat milk and an avocado "toast". The matcha was well blended and balanced between the matcha and vanilla flavor. My toast came out as a croissant piled high with fresh avocado, pickled onions, blistered tomatoes, micro greens and everything seasoning! So filling and delicious! I originally sat at a high top table in the front so I could eat and work easier at the same time but eventually moved to the low table conversation area in the back when I needed an outlet (the tall tables in the front by outlets were all taken). I also noticed that on wednesdays-sundays the shop is open until11p and that there are daily happy hour specials from 4-6p with drink and dip specials! Would love to come back one day to check this out! Definitely check out MidDay if you are in the area looking for somewhere to relax, catch up with a friend, work (be mindful of finding an outlet), or go on a date.... The dining room itself was very small, a single picnic table, and they had a large industrial stand fan running in one corner. It was warm but the fan brought it to the perfect temperature. The food is unbelievably good. I had their chicken sandwich with a side of fries, and you could tell that everything was made fresh from scratch. My friend had the chicken quesadilla and it was so huge and delicious he had to stop himself from eating the entire thing! While we were waiting, we got to see some of the other foods being made. Traveling through the area, was looking for a breakfast/brunch spot on our way out of town and first and when 6 people walked in, the entire vibe shifted in the place. We were told that they only do online orders and pick up basically, but we were in a tour a van and did not want to eat eggs on a 90 degree day in a hot van, we asked if we could sit, and they said "no problem." But then it became a problem. The two working here decided to start playing very loud grime/trap music while sat there as they made our food. They increased the volume of every track and even as the orders came out, kept turning up the music. After they said we could eat in the shop, they continually raised the volume on the music to an unbearable point, even clocked the one of the chefs going to the ipad to raise the mix even further, and we all ended up taking to go. I get it. You don't want people in the shop. You don't have bathrooms, theres not a ton of seating, and this is a cool stoner delivery spot. But everyone, including myself, tipped the workers on the orders and just tried to have a quick bite so we thought it wouldn't be a problem to eat and be on our way. It was so obvious that these workers do not want people in their store or for diners to enjoy themselves there. Again, the food was really good, but I didn't want to eat it in a tour van. I know that may be selfish of me, the customer, to want a place to eat something with gravy and eggs, and not in a steamy enclosed vehicle, but wow, it was so obvious that we were not allowed to be in there from the vibe. Not to mention, one of the folks in my party clocked that 2 cops were outside rummaging through the trash - so not a great look on this restaurant or neighborhood. The food was so good it still gets 3 stars from me, but I will be ordering on line for pick up next time.
