First time here came on a sunny fall saturday. Was busy at 3pm, they have plenty of room; I found a table easily. Had a beer within minutes of sitting down; food arrived like literally 10 minutes after. I ordered the all day special crispy chicken wrap with chowder. Chowder was nice a chunky with big salmon and cod chunks (could have even been Halibut) wolfed that down almost immediately, the wrap was well made not dripping with sauce, was not messy, nice crispy chicken, all served with a smile. A neighbourhood classic where all the staff know their regulars by name and drink order. Yes, the crowd is a bit older. Besides the staff, I was definitely the youngest one in the bar by about 15 years. But hey, you know what? It makes for some great conversation. I sat at the bar and had a great chat with 3-4 different people. This isn't the kind of bar where you sit on your phones and hope no one notices you. No, it's the kind of bar where you listen to the older generation talk about their lives and the glory days. And if you listen long enough, you can learn a thing or two. As for food, it's your typical pub fare. Sandwiches, burgers, and all the pub appies: nachos, wings, even deep fried pickles. Portions are generous. Quality is yummy. Might I recommend the Rose & Crown wrap? I switched out the onions and added in some avocado. It was delicious. Drinks? They've got a good beer selection on tap, as well as different wines and cocktails. I'm sure you'll be able to find something that tickles your fancy here. Atmosphere. Well, it's a bit different than your typical downtown Vancouver pub, but that's why I like it. It's got more a bit of a sports bar vibe to it as well. Afternoon liquid refreshments at The Rose and Crown Pub in Tsawwassen. Why does their website list "Delta" as the city? What's wrong with Tsawwassen? Or are they interchangeable? I'm so confused! Back to the task at hand, which is to imbibe some liquid amber on a beautiful West Coast day. Of course, one would need snacks to go along with the beers. Ordered deep fried pickles and nachos. The deep fried pickles were nicely battered and not too thick. The plate of nachos could have fed an army! Not quite enough cheese though. The establishment was really busy on a Friday afternoon. Don't people have to work? Oh well, it is Friday and The Rose and Crown was a great way to wind down for the weekend. read more

Came here on a Monday Night Football Night with a few friends and was lucky to find a table. We eventually found one at the back of the pub by the restrooms. About five minutes after we sat down we understood why no one else was sitting there, every time the men's bathroom door was opened you could smell the incredibly strong urinal tablet, how lovely when wanting to eat and drink. I ended ordering the Jalapeno Cheese bites, which I had expected to be regular Jalapeno poppers and were not. There were little deep fried things of cream cheese with hints of jalapeno in them. For my entree I got the Ruben with poutine fries (I HAD to have poutine at least once while back in Canada). After eating some of the jalapeno bits and the poutine I was pretty full but wanted to try my sandwich as it smelled fantastic. I took two bites and was happy that I had ordered the Ruben and was looking forward to eating it later. The waitress came and gave us our tabs, $24 for the appetizer and entree, not to terrible. I had asked the waitress for a box for the rest of my sandwich, but instead she took my plate away saying she would box it up for me. When she returned the box felt light, I opened it up and I only have half my sandwich, she had tossed the one I had only had two bites out of. I couldn't believe it, I asked my friends if that was the norm at the Rose (as they go far more often than I do) and they said no. I didn't bother to ask my waitress where my sandwich was as I knew it was in the trash, I just couldn't believe she tossed it, especially without asking first. Overall the restaurant is good, the atmosphere is decent, the location easy to find and the food delicious. But I'm knocking down the rating for how strong the bathroom smell was and for throwing out half my meal that I had paid for. read more

I have been going here for awhile. Lately the ladies have been rude and treating me very aboriginal. I was asked to leave my bank card when I went out for a smoke . She went out of her way to embarrass us. My sister and I. When recently I gave a huge tip the last time I was there. Anyways she embarrassed us then at the same time two white ladies were aloud to just go to shoppers drug mart with no issues at all. Such a good atmosphere to be in. The service is great and the staff and Shelley always go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and welcome. Great for parties and events! Cant forget about the delicious food too. read more

My first experience with this pub was so bad, I will never step foot in that place again. wasn't busy @ all in there so, we expected that our drinks would come quick. they didn't. after we were waiting about 15mins for them, we tried to flag down our server but she was clearly trying to ignore us... so, I walked up to the bar to order a drink (since the server wasn't going to help us out) + the sweet aroma of urine coming from the bathrooms perfumed the area. so disgusting. then, when we were playing pool a trouble maker randomly tried to start a fight with my bf + he started choking him against the wall...one of the servers witnessed this but, didn't do anything! she didn't want to kick out "a regular" cuz they'll lose a customer. this was a horrible experience + will never recommend this place to anyone. read more

A big let down for an area as nice as Tsawwassen. The crowd is very old, as well as a lot "white trash" types. There is a nice patio, but unfortunately its dominated by smokers (you can still smoke on patios??! its 2015)....and they allow people to smoke e-cigatettes inside the pub (seriously.), which is in itself a huge turnoff. The inside of the pub is dark and dated. A shame there aren't more options in town. On the plus side, portions are huge and there are lots of beers on top. read more

My wife and I and friends come here somewhat frequently. Today my friend and I sat down for dinner and I ordered the Rose and Crown Burger. GROSS: worst burger I have ever had. Dry, burnt, lacking any flavour. I think it's time to be very careful as to what they have in their menu. Please avoid this burger at all costs!!! This place is alright; a typical pub. It is the only pub in the the area so get a huge array of demographics, most notably age groups. You'll see just turned legal children and older couples hanging out. The prices are excellent and helpings are enormous, but it comes at a cost. I had the pulled pork on my nachos, and I had my head in the toilet the next day. Lower prices aren't necessarily a great thing when your food quality is sub-par. read more

When you're in Tsawwassen, you don't really have a lot of options for nightlife. My best friend happens to live in Tsawwassen, so I happen to be there a lot, and what do we do when we want a drink? The Rose & Crown, of course! Seeing how this is basically the only place to go for drinks, there's quite a mixed crowed. Middle-aged drunkards to to the fresh "just turned 19" kids. People are generally pretty friendly, but don't expect not to get stared at if you look a bit out of the ordinary. When we come we aaaalways order the peach margarita. A surprisingly fancy and fun drink for a cheesy little neighborhood pub. The food is decent, the drinks are decent, and we always have a more than decent time. read more

Nothing home made, the guacamole is a tragic Sysco green paste and is disgusting. The manager, shelly is great just always stressed out and disorganized. Shelly, get control of your staff, they are always high and not to attentive to customers because they are so stoned!! and you need not to tell people you own 45% of the place when you barley own 10%. Tsawwassen needs another choice in pubs. They are killing it and it's a goldmine. They can charge what ever they want and they do!! Fyi, chicken wings are supposed to be bigger than your pinky finger, again, Sysco. The wings are the worst I have ever seen, it's embarrassing how small, skinny and over cooked they are. Great customer service. Friendly staff, taps feature well chilled beer. More than fair prices for a full pint. Feature beer is Stella Artois and recently London Pride Ale for all the ex-Brits. Nice to hear that the pub has begun to feature more live music. Would love to see live music more consistently. read more

There is okay pub food (you'll eat there once and while cause your craving stuff right out a fryer) and then there is bad pub food (like you craved it, ate it, wished you hadn't and then quickly head home to purge). The Rose and Crown is in the second category. The food here is what the colour grey/brown might taste like if you ate it from your crayon box, with a side of pretty good fries. The menu options reflect a chef/owner circa 1982 and the place wafts a heavy pong, that screams "sorry I threw up on your carpet". (And what about carpet in a pub anyway, it's not a hells angels hang out?) The TV to table quota is fine and the staff is earnest and generally friendly, though one senses they are somewhat embarrassed to be serving you. What is incredibly sad here is that with the captive audience of the Tsawwassen as your local market, combined with limited if any competition in this category, this location and format could 'rock'! A few simple lessons in food service, some farm to table thinking and some post 2000 ambiance would have this place packed every night and even pull in a few ferry riders. Really, sell this pub to someone who cares and they'd be rich! read more

This pub could have the best food and the the greatest prices (which it most certainly does not) and it would still be a terrible place. Why? Because the staff is absolutely horrible. They're slow, rude and miserable. They walk around with scowls on their faces and act like they're doing you a favour by serving you. I've owned and operated pubs/restaurants for over 35 years and I can tell you exactly what is wrong at The Rose & Crown, lazy management. It's really easy just to let staff stay well beyond their best before date. Much easier than finding good people and putting in the effort to build a team that cares about customer service. If you're the owner or manager of this establishment consider this; around 4 times a month myself and a decent size group of friends come to Tsawwassen to golf. Sometimes there are as many as a dozen of us. After our game we like to go for drinks and food. We probably spend between $60 to $80 each. After our very negative experiences at your establishment we will not go there anymore. Think about that next time you're doing payroll and handing over your profits to staff who drive your business away. I could tell you exactly which staff in particular I'm talking about but it's not necessary...you already know who the worst offenders are...you're just too incompetent to do anything about it. read more

you know how sometimes people hate-watch certain tv shows? well, sometimes i'll go to places that are poorly rated on yelp because i enjoy torturing myself and/or disagreeing with the other reviewers. this was neither: i was pleasantly surprised to see that the place wasn't a crappy dive and we'd likely be able to get some delicious beers to drown our sorrows about missing the ferry, and yummy food to keep the hangry bears at bay. (side note: if this is you in the future, be warned: service is not fast. not fast at all. chose wisely. potato skins are not wise.) both boyfriend and i felt a tad bit out of place... he was struck by the number of white people (all of them. every. single. person.), and i was surprised to see no female customers - just female servers. maybe they held a meeting of middle-aged white men at the pub just before we arrived? the prices are a bit steep (you'll find ferry food is cheaper, since they don't charge $15 for chicken strips), but the food we had was pretty tasty. I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to return, but I wouldn't refuse to return either. read more

Awesome local bar with super friendly staff. Very large menu with lots of different options, something for everyone. Great wings! Good drink deals. Will definitely come again when in tsawwassen! An excellent pub with great food and staff. The manager Shelley always goes out of her way to make your visit a pleasant one. They are often quite busy, but the service is consistently good. They also have great food at a reasonable price. The patio is wonderful for beers and people watching in the summer and they are a great place to watch hockey in the fall. They always have great specials including their often changing $2.00 special! Would definitely recommend to others as a great place to go for lunch or dinner. read more

We were sitting in the upper area, which was nice as it was a busy time of day and a little quieter for conversation. Food is decent and most of the staff are good. Burgers get overcooked . Nachos are great. Beer is not cheap. It's good overall.

My wife and I missed the ferry and were both hungry. We stopped into this gem of a pub. I had the chicken pot pie and she had the Rose & Crown burger. Not only was the food amazing but the server was so nice and the atmosphere was great, busy and hopping. We definetly will be going back there again soon! read more

This pub is great! If you ever want a quick stop on the way to the ferry, THIS IS IT:). The service was fast, friendly, and so worth the stop! We stopped in for a quick bite before our trip back to the island and ended up staying to catch the NEXT ferry:). The staff and regulars were having so much fun and we felt totally welcome and like a part of it all. Highly recommended!! read more
