Also, has a little souvenir shop that has a lot of cool stuffs. Beer: what can I say, all great. Also has great cocktails (very good margaritas). Food: I had the pretzel and chicken sandwich. Updated review since Aloha Beer has been making so many improvements to their food menu! I come here often since I live close by. They had a menu update a while ago last year, adding things like salmon crispy rice and pork belly. More recently, there was another menu refresh so I took the opportunity to try it. We tried the mushrooms Rockefeller, ahi tataki, and BBQ sliders. I was SO impressed by the mushrooms which were a balance of creamy, salty, and sweet with their spinach dip and a tomato onion jam on top. Literally put this mushroom concoction on anything. I ate it with the sliders and it was amazing. I bet it would even be good on mac and cheese. The ahi tataki was perfectly seared and sliced into precise, thin pieces to absorb more of the ponzu sauce. We also love getting the pizzas here. Make sure to ask about the monthly special. I love Aloha Beer. Every time I'm on the island, I make sure to stop by. Their beer is always on point, with a great variety from pilsners to IPAs and more. But I also really appreciate that they offer cocktails if you're not in the mood for beer (which was me last night). I went with the li hing mojito, and it was so refreshing, perfect for a humid night. The dried plum touch was everything I needed. For dinner, I had the fish and chips, and my husband got the salmon bomb bowl, both were good. I love their patio area, such a great place to hang out, especially in the evening. Even though it was rainy, it is half covered so we were all good there. I've been consistently coming to this spot for a few years. The only thing consistent about it is a few of the beers and the facts that they are dog friendly (major plus) with a solid dog menu, and that they serve pizza, which I have never ordered. With that said, I've enjoyed this place for quite some time, through all their changes. The current menu is palatable. The poke nachos are fairly generous, depending on who's in the kitchen. The salmon bowl is also quite tasty, but beware that if you go near closing, the rice may be way too dry. The salmon itself and the mix of flavors and textures in the bowl (rice aside) are on point! I will continue to keep coming back here, but it's never something I crave. Came in for drinks on a Saturday night. We parked in the valet area, which was $5 and not due on spot. Our valet driver told us that this charge will be added to our bill and we can pay inside. Made reservations via OpenTable and was seated outside. The crowd was pretty average at this time and it was not too busy. Service was great and quick. We came here for my husband's work event and had such a wonderful time! We got there at 1600 (right smack during happy hour!), and the prices were fairly reasonable, especially for Hawai'i! We had over 40 people at our party, so it was fairly loud with everyone talking, laughing, and eating. I've been here for dinner and did not enjoy my experience. For pau hana it was a enjoyable experience. My server was friendly and knowledgeable. She had great suggestions and very tentative. Even at 3p there was a good amount of customers. The dinning area just off from the bar is a pleasant spot for a meal. Only down thing is the noise from all the traffic passing by. I love coming to Aloha Beer Gardens! my sweet puppy Luna also loves the garden because it's furry friendly!!! There is a puppy menu and they even bring her own bowls which can be purchased as well! We visited for Aloha Beer's Oktoberfest and had so much fun, we had to come back to try their daily happy hour from 2-6pm. The prices were great and the food was good too- unsurprisingly, all pretty heavy options geared towards eating with beer. We did cave and get a salad at the end because we needed some lighter greens, but everything we sampled was 'ono! Especially liked their firecracker pork and crispy rice with seared salmon belly. Came here on a Tuesday afternoon as we were interested in trying their craft beers and food. Both were good. Disappointed they don't have any dark beers or brown ales, but their variety of styles is commendable. We had the inpognito, the tap haus martini, and the DA gold kolsch. All were fresh and flavorful. On the food side we had the crispy wings, ahi nachos, and bbq Kalua pork sandwich. The nachos and wings were fantastic. I had an event at the beer garden at Aloha Beer, and the vibes here were great! I love that there's outdoor seating that's very spacious. It was nice having the beer garden area to ourselves, but I noticed they had some kind of trivia night or something going on in the main part of the building. We were served pizza, sliders, artichoke dip, and fries. The pizza was flavorful with a good crust texture. The sliders were a little on the dry side, but it could've been that it was sitting out for awhile. I also got a lilikoi mocktail that was really good and the perfect amount of carbonation. The HI BRAU was the perfect venue for our company's Administrative Professionals Day luncheon! I highly recommend this place. The food was delicious! My favorite dish was the Waffle Fries. The Caesar Salad was very crispy and fresh! Their drinks are also very good. The drink I enjoyed the most was Lime in the Coconut! We had such great service and working with the Manager, Edward Maloney, to coordinate the luncheon was a great experience because he is super responsive and clear in his correspondence and very professional. Stopped in for happy hour and wanted to get a seat at the bar but it was full, but Lauren kept and eye open and grabbed us when 2 seats opened up. (Thanks Lauren!). We saw a recent review that seemed to have some valid complaints and I would say our experience was a complete turnaround from that review. Maybe management really does take reviews seriously and made some corrections. Hope so, that means Yelp can work. We had a really nice time and this visit reinforced why we come here at least once (usually more) when we visit Oahu. We're bar people and enjoy sitting at the bar being close to all of the action. Pat and Lauren were both attentive and very willing to allow us to taste any beer we had not had before. Some bars don't allow or charge for tasters, glad to see Aloha is good about that. Why spend good $$ on something that you really may not like? We ordered the Firecracker Pork, which is basically fried pork bellies that comes with a dipping sauce. For 10$ HH, it was a good deal and while I couldn't eat a lot of these, they were really good especially with the dipping sauce. My husband ordered the FURIKAKE CRISPY RICE SALMON BOMBS and they were equally good for $10 HH price. All of the staff we interacted with were polite and friendly and willing to chat a bit with customers or cut up a little. That's why we sit at the bar, sometimes we get a good tip on food or beer suggestions or sometimes we learn about something we're interested in the area. Next time we come back we hope to see Lauren and Pat because we know they'll take good care of us with a smile. read more

This update is strictly for the recent pop-up collaboration with Chubbies Burger. I have always had Chubbies Burger on the top of my burger list ever since their food truck days to their former brick-and mortar spot. So I was super stoked to hear that they were going to do a pop-up event at Aloha Beer. I mean who can't complain? Really good burgers with great beer. Sadly, I may have over-hyped myself since my experience was a disappointment. CHUBBIES: As a pop-up, I understand the menu would be limited and given the popularity of Chubbies, it will take some time. We had to order through the take-out side because we were told that there was a 40 minute wait time on the burgers. For this particular day, they only offered two types of burgers: Cheese and Carolina Onion and Fries. I opted to order the Carolina Onion and to be honest, it was a bit of a letdown. The burger lacked the bold flavor that I have come to love from Chubbies. It was bland, the onions were over cooked, and the additional housemade pickles didn't have that perfect pickled crunch to tie in the whole burger. It was definitely not hitting that signature Chubbies mark for me. On the plus side, the bun was soft and fresh. ALOHA BEER: In addition to the take-out order from Chubbies, we ordered food from the Aloha Beer side. The service from our main server was not the greatest as she took our order and never returned until we summoned for the check. She didn't even ask if we needed refills or check on how we were doing. I forgot to even order for my dog but since she was not attentive to us, another Aloha Beer staff was very helpful to put in that order. Some other staff also brought us food that weren't ours and mentioned that Chubbies were experiencing some confusion as they were making double orders. One major disappointment for this service: we were not provided ANY individual plates, utensils, AND napkins. Because this pop up was so busy, the wait times were another issue. When we arrived, we were told to put our name on the waitlist and order take out (if we wanted Chubbies) to save time, so we did. When I tried to pick up out take out (after we got seated), I was told by the Aloha Beer staff to go outside where the take out side is. It didn't make any sense to me, but I did it anyway, only to find out our order was not ready. At that point, I informed one of the Chubbies' staff that we were dining in and ordered ahead. She was nice and told me that she will have it brought to our table when it was ready. Our food took way longer than expected (over 40 minutes), despite the order status saying it would be ready in 20 - 30 minutes. Given this experience, I'm not sure if I'll be back for the next pop-up. If I do, I'll probably place an online order for take out and avoid the whole dining-in experience. read more

My husband and I recently moved back onto the island after leaving 6 years ago. We were excited to return to Aloha Beer but unfortunately were disappointed. Parking : A majority of people park street side. I believe they do have valet but didn't see anyone working it. Service: The service here really seems to have gone down hill. We sat at a table so can't speak about direct bar seating. When we asked for recommendations on an IPA she made us feel like we were bothering her and replied that they were all good. Very little input. After drinks were delivered it was a long while before we were checked on again for more beers & food. We eat out regularly and can understand if she was busy but in combination with her attitude, it really just gave us a terrible experience. Food: My husband said his fish tacos were good but nothing special, especially for being on the island and definitely not worth to $25. Came here for trivia night with friends but have been here in the past. Since I haven't made a review, this one will reflect my most recent experience. Trivia Night was absolutely fun! Unfortunately, I came on the host's last night (as he's moving) but I'm glad I got to play a game hosted by him just once! I ordered the Pork Sliders. It was OK. I actually got a side of BBQ sauce because there was a lack of flavor in the two little sliders. Fries were good. Would recommend adding sauce to the sliders. My friend ordered the Crispy Rice and Spicy Ahi. It was not exactly what she expected. I guess she was expecting more sushi-like pieces. Anyways - the rice was indeed crispy. Perhaps a little too crispy? It was definitely a hard bite. Spicy Ahi was alright. Her boyfriend ordered the Chicken Sandwich and they really enjoyed it. They think it's the best item they've gotten here so far, and I'll take their word for it. Beer was good! All their beer is good. Overall, will come back and try their other menu items! The bar was busy for the early afternoon. There is ample space to sit and I hear they allow dogs too on a certain night. Not sure, I was told word of mouth. There's a bunch of breweries in the Kaka'ako area and we've been trying out different ones. This one might turn out to be our favorite! We found street parking nearby but there's parking up the ramp for $5. There tons of seating inside and out with a little shop in the back selling their merch. Beer is really good-great selection of IPAs, ales and more. As for the food, we had the 2-6pm Happy Hour cheese bread ($10) and the regular menu Margherita pizza ($24) Both were tasty except the pizza was a bit over sauced IMO. Looking at the food menu, items were reasonably priced. Service was GREAT! Our server was super nice and friendly. We felt like VIPs!
