The place itself has seating inside and outside. We sat outside, and it was a nice evening. The place was not loud and the service was quick. The people working were very sweet! The place felt casual with wood tables and decorations. We decided to order a burger and macaroni. Both came out pretty quickly. The burger and the fries were yummy! The fries were pretty big and were good on their own. The burger was tasty and tasted like it had just the right amount of salt. The macaroni was also very good, with a decent amount in the bowl. It's been over 2.5 years since my last visit and my stars remain the same. The nice interior design, cleanness, great service have not changed, and that's a wonderful thing. I wasn't sure if that was how it was supposed to be served, but the draft beer wasn't that cold. It still tasted good though. We had Chicken Wings, Fish & Chips, and a Cheese Burger. Brew'd does not make their own brews, but instead cultivates a great roster of draft beers from California, Hawai'i and elsewhere. The best thing about this place is their staff, who are super friendly and have cultivated a great neighborhood vibe. Our bartender also allowed me to taste a couple beers before ordering them, which I appreciate! They also have a great happy hour, with discounts on wine, beer, well drinks and pub eats from 4-6. They also have wine Wednesdays with 25% on bottles of wines and deals on glasses of wine. We also tried the jumbo pretzel, which was a bit rubbery. Good food. Good beer. New parking system is HORRIBLE ! Stopped by tonight to grab a quick burger. Parked in the lot behind the building specifically reserved for Brew'd and the other businesses. Was there about 40 minutes. When I got out to my car, there was a ticket for more than $50 from their parking company. I'm not paying $50 for parking for a $30 meal, ($40 after tax and tip.) They were prompt and had hustle and ettiquette. 2) My friend Justin said his burger was one of the best he ever had. 3) They ran out of silverware. It was awkward. Get more silverware, or if the dishwasher called in sick, then figure that out. 4) The french fries shown on the website looked pretty well cooked, but what we received were way more dried out and on the way to charcoal. In summary, prices have gone up and food is expensive everywhere. But when the meal is great and the setting is good, I will pay those prices. But it means you have to fix your problems. It has been years since I ate here, and my boyfriend and I had put this on the "try soon" list. We finally got there last week. Parking is easy in the lot out back, just remember to scan the QR code on the menu to check in. We sat at the bar and made friends with Steve, the most amazing bartender around. He had recommendations in beer and food, and was just great to chat with. Steve is a treasure. Boyfriend wanted ribeye, but they were out that night, so we had burgers. I saw the cauliflower app and definitely should have gotten that! Small place but well decorated. Good selection of draught and bottle beers. I had seen another reviewer saying the beers weren't cold enough and I found this to be the case as well. Might be ok stout temp but not IPAs. Only other negative is the price of the beers. $10 for a 12 oz cider. $12 for a 16oz local brewery IPA. When we paid the bill, we weren't given an itemized receipt--just the total--so we couldn't even see what we were being charged for until after we paid. I think when a restaurant is charging $0.75 for a side of ranch, that's something that should at least be mentioned; it's cheap. Since we were celebrating a birthday, we asked if they did anything special. Our server said they were out of birthday desserts, so we asked if we could just get a scoop of ice cream with a candle. We were under the impression it was complimentary, but after paying, we saw we were charged $6 for it. The food was nothing special; it was greasy. I was exploring the general vicinity when I encountered this café and went in for lunch. On this initial visit, I had the blackened fish sliders ($24.00) and two Dragonfruit Lemonade ($4.00/ea). With tax ($1.51) and service fee ($1.34), my ticket was 34.85 before gratuity. (Interestingly, there is a small discount if you pay with cash.) The fish sliders were okay. I understand the seasonings that go along with blackened fish; but I found it too salty. And the manner in which the fries were prepared was not to my liking. I think I just made a bad menu selection, and I'll try other items in the future. The space is not too large, but it is stylish and comfortable. There is a robust selection of draft and packaged beers and ciders. They have the ability to make conventional and crafted cocktails. A lot of people describe this establishment as a neighborhood gastro pub. I think this is a good description. I don't think this is a destination of itself; rather it primarily caters to the surrounding vicinity. There are 25 beers listed on the draft menu. To save time, I followed by friend's lead and ordered a Delirium, a Belgian ale that comes in its own special elephant glass. FOOD- everything was good and of course went well with the beer! *Smashed burger - 1/2 lb all American beef with all the works including a delicious caramelized onion jam. Comes with their hand cut fries that are fried in beef tallow. Delish! *Beet salad- a colorful bowl of greens topped with beautiful thinly sliced red pickled onions, fried feta balls, cherry tomatoes, and of course fresh beets. You can order with protein. I got the grilled chicken that was nicely seasoned and delicious by itself . There are some other vegetarian options on the menu as well. *Roasted tomato and garlic Hummus-very tasty comes with fried pita. I ordered extra pita since I ran out. We share a Philly cheese slider sandwich with Truffle fries they forgot we ordered Truffle fries so he apologized and brought us a plate of truffle fries. The slider's was tasty with lots of meat and melted cheese. The fries and truffle fries were also very good and it came out hot and crispy and very tasty, they also make their own ketchup in-house which was also very good. The wedged salad fresh, it was okay a little hard to eat, but we managed and the dressing and tomatoes. The Brussels spouts are amazing- this time they were drizzled with Caesar dressing and topped with bacon crumbles (sooo good). The Szechuan Cauliflower was also amazing. Y'all. They have Bell's Oberon on tap. This is the absolute best beer in Michigan and is usually only available in the spring/summer. You need to RUN not walk to Brew'd to try this beer. It's literally the greatest beer in the history of beers. I'm a professional historian so I can make that claim with some authority. I had their fish & chips today along with Oberon and it was DELICIOUS. Perfected cooked. Like, perfect. The crust on the fish was crunchy but soft. The only issue is that the fish itself was bland. It needed a lot of seasoning. I don't know how one would do this other than maybe seasoning the batter or the fish prior to frying? I dunno. I'm not a chef. But that ish needed more salt. We went there for lunch so we did not have any of the beers so downgrade us for that missing in the review. It is pretty small with a few tables and a bar. There are some tvs (see photo). The food was very good and good place to hangout and catch up. The garlic wings were excellent. The truffle fries are recommended and they were pretty good. I was very disappointed in the mac and cheese. I added on kalua pork for $6 and it was severely underseasoned. The texture of the cheese sauce also wasn't quite right. Next time I'd like to try something that comes with fries, since those seemed to have a good amount of salt and be cooked the way I like. On the plus side, the service was friendly. Came in here when we were wondering around trying to find a place to eat around 8-9ish and everyone was closed or closing. So happy we came in! Had a nice dinner for our friends 30th- one person got the prime rib special and loved it. Another got the fish and chips which was amazing and a large portion. Only knock down a point because we ordered nachos as an app and it came out after our entrees- on top of that, the nachos were gnarly. They were just beef with cheese on top of chips- would've loved to see some salsa, guac, pico, or sour cream to jazz these guys up. These Incompetent kitchen staff couldnt let there waitress staff know after I waited about 20 min that they didnt have somthing prepared and was going to take another 10 min. Mind you it took me 8 minutes to even get to the place and I received the order 4 mins prior so thats an additional 12 min before I even got there. So 32 min for an order that wasnt even prepard or ready yet. Thats ridiculous There was literally 8 people in the entire place. They couldnt handle 8 people and an Uber order pathetic. Unfortunately, some of the fish in the "fish n' chips" was VERY chewy taking me a full minute of chewing each bite before I could swallow. The bartender gave offered me a steak knife for the fish. They said they used marlin for the dish, which kinda explains the tough texture as marlin, a muscular fish, can be very beef-like when overcooked. Usually fish n' chips is made with a white fish like cod or haddock which are more tolerant to deep frying. I ordered two fried eggs, potatoes, toast, and Canadian bacon. Even though it looked like humble fare, it was delicious. My BF ordered steak with potatoes and eggs and liked his food too. Some suggestions for the management to make brunch more pleasant. (1) Can the music be more mellow? Hard rock is difficult to listen to in the morning. I've been attending quite a few of birthday celebration gatherings now that Safe Access Oahu enforcement has ended. We usually allow the birthday person to select the venue and this time it was BREW'd craft pub (BCP). Located on the corner of Waialae Ave and 9th Ave with nearby businesses of Leahi Health Kaimuki and Brick Fire Tavern, BCP is a gastropub offering craft brews, cocktails and tapas. Parking in Kaimuki can be challenging so fortunately, several of us carpooled and arrived early to ensure a space in their shared private parking lot. BCP offers indoor and outdoor seating and a friend had made reservations for indoor seating for our party of 10. As we were escorted to our table, I couldn't help noticing their cool interior décor, especially their lighting fixture and various brew taps above. While perusing the menu, our server informed us of their current specials and we went on a Thursday, which also meant their prime rib special. I wasn't hungry that day and a foodie friend highly recommended their beet salad. I also ordered the roasted bell pepper garlic hummus along with Lucky Lyla, a cocktail of Jameson, Maui Brewing Co. ginger beer, honey syrup and lemon. I really enjoyed my cocktail as I found it to be tasty and refreshing. This paired well with my garlic hummus and beet salad. Hands down, the beet salad was a winner and I'd order this again. It was lightly dressed with a vinaigrette where it wasn't overpowering and blended well with the beets and goat cheese balls. The hummus was just okay for me. I appreciated that the chickpeas were not processed too fine - - not a fan of mushy texture. The flavoring of the hummus wasn't anything special for my palate - - it wasn't pronounced. I would have preferred bolder flavorings. As time went by, the business started to fill up but our server did an amazing job attending to our table. A handful of friends ordered the prime rib special, which impressively sold out for the day at only 630pm. Overall, a positive first experience at BCP where I'd be game to come back again.
