We Went there for the first time yesterday 12/9/23. we made reservations to accommodate the 10 people in our group. We were seated pretty quickly, our server did a really good job considering the size of the group. The food was pretty average for a breakfast joint all was ok till the end... once we were rounding up and fixing to leave my wife had found a dead cockroach in her drink of water stuck to the side of her staw! Food has always been great. However this morning I had the worst customer service i have had at a restaurant in years. We were the first customers at the time at the bar. We've eaten here quite a bit and I'm surprised I haven't written my review until now. I typically order breakfast because that is what I think they do best. My husband loves their Chili Burger with Tots, but I'm not a chili fan so never tried it. My latest favorite thing is the mushroom omelet. They serve it with hash browns and a blob of cream gravy on top of the omelet. Strange combo you say? Oh no, that is what makes the omelet special. I love cream gravy, eggs, mushrooms, and cheese, so you cannot go wrong with this combination. The staff are nice enough, but not always friendly. The service is fast and can be hit and miss when it comes to the follow up on refills, etc. You have to pay at the front counter and can stand there for a bit before someone will come and ring you out. The decor is cowboy-esk and they get super busy on weekends at brunch time. Things are dated and well used but they keep things relatively clean. I'd call this a divey cafe style joint, but sometimes that just what I'm looking for. read more

Great brunch spot! Super cute old fashioned decor, nice staff, great menu! We loved everything we got, they were out of a couple things (rolls & the turkey sandwich meal- which sounded incredible if they do have it on your visit!) but no big deal. Out boys got the kids' waffles with strawberries yum! We got a couple scones- which are Utah scones- like Navajo fry bread- not like Starbucks pastries- which we all love! Came with like a maple butter type dipping sauce. Husband got French toast- simple & just what he wanted- but they have a crunchy option too. I got the berry salad & it was different than I'm used to with the Gorgonzola cheese & the vinaigrette was a bit more savory than sweet- but Husband likes blue cheese where I don't, so he enjoyed it! My favorite part was actually the vegetable beef soup- so hearty, home made, & tasty!! Definitely give this place a try- we enjoyed our experience better than the last Ogden restaurant we visited with over double the cost! read more

I am new to Ogden and have decided I will try new places once or twice a week to see what's around and what I like. Todays adventure was the Rusty Spoon and it did not disappoint. 3 egg skillet and purposefully requested some changes to see how the order came out and it was exactly what I asked for. Server was prompt on refills and asking if I needed anything. If I had a knock on this place it would be the chairs. The marker wooden chairs are comfortable however the smaller metal ones not so much. Food, service and expected price were all great value and enjoyable. Will be back! read more

Just came here for the first time a few weeks ago. The crunchy French toast is what sold me. All the other breakfast foods that came along with it were just as good as Jeremiah's (my other favorite breakfast place) but honestly the French toast here broke the tie and this is now my preferred breakfast joint. I'm looking forward to going back here again and exploring other items on the menu, but that may not actually ever happen because I'll just end up ordering their breakfast foods- mainly the crunchy French toast . There isn't a sadness that can't be cured by breakfast foods. This place is wonderful. read more

The food there is overrated! My fruit cup was soo close to rotten, my scone was over cooked/fried...my husband's meal was not impressive either, he was NOT Impressed at all! Breakfast is pretty ok but the restaurant definitely could be a bit cleaner. Had to ask twice to warm up my tea kettle. How is the hot water not hot but lukewarm??? What a fantastic place! We went on Father's Day morning and they were quite busy. We have 5 people and we're told 35-45 min and we waited exactly 45 min. Our server was very kind and attentive. The food did take awhile, but it was worth it. Our order included scones, ribeye and eggs, kids pancake meal and crunchy French toast (which was the star of the show). There is only one male and one female restroom and the female one has the changing table. When they take your order they do it from this little device and it gets sent right away which ai love because then there is less chance of your order not being put in. There is a little bar area, but I am not sure if it was FCFS or not. Another bonus is they had coke and Pepsi. Really you should go there you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to go back to get the crunchy French toast again because I have been dreaming about it! read more

I have been here a few times. The first few times were great. Last weekend, I wanted to take my wife and kids for the first time. My wife went in to check the wait before we unloaded the kids. It was not crowded, but she was ignored by staff for a few minutes. The girls at the front made eye contact with her several times, and continued talking to each other about the night before, and after a few minutes, she left and we took our business elsewhere. I'm gonna give them four stars but I really want to give them five.. I would give them five stars for their other location hands down and for most of the servers. I love this place, the food is so so good, the prices are really reasonable compared to most places and it's a cute little restaurant. The owner is really sweet and I'd address this with her directly but have seemed to miss her the past few visits. As someone that's served for years myself, the service you get from one or two of their servers lacks, especially the one we've gotten recently.. I always try to give servers the benefit of the doubt but when you get the same server and consistently get poor service it makes it hard to keep coming back, often times we've been going elsewhere just so we know we won't have to worry about possible poor service. It takes about ten or so minutes for the server to come over to us. Once she gets the drink order even though we let her know we're ready she doesn't come back for almost another ten minutes. This last visit we had a friend (who is also a server) with some dietary restrictions so we asked for a couple things to not be on the plate if possible and she was fine with that but once we received the food it had come out wrong. We didn't realize until my friend first cut into her food. The server never came back to check on us so we had to go up to the checkout area to ask someone else for help. Mind you we never received refills on our empty drink cups after delivering the food. A table by us had noticed that we were looking around and they told us that when they have the same server they have the same issues. She came out when the servers let her know someone was up there and completely dismissed my friend, had a short conversation with a server and then came over to the table. Mind you we were never rude or short when speaking to any of them and after addressing the issue, the server continuously pointed towards us when talking to other employees, not saying she was definitely talking about us but by the annoyance we received from then on it seemed likely. I hope that things like this can be addressed with their employees and that timely and attentive service can be more of a priority to them in the future. It's a great restaurant that has the right idea on the food, how to get it out of the window quickly to the table and the atmosphere. Arrived at 9:30 received food at 12, we were told there's a 15 minute wait and waited outside for 1 hour. I understand it was busy but this was far too long. We waited about 40 minutes before someone even came to take our drinks. The server didn't know she had a table. I ordered the ribeye steak (medium rare)and eggs (over easy). For charging $16 for that plate you'd thinks it's good, it wasn't. Steak was cooked well done, they didn't trim any fat, there was a solid 2" of fat on the steak, wasn't seasoned at all. The eggs were stabbed with a fork before I received them and it ran all over my plate. The hash browns were burnt on one side and raw on the other. Server didn't write our ticket correctly, added things we didn't order. Very unhappy with this place. I'm never eating here again. Don't waste your money!!! read more

I used to come here all the time as a child with my mom and it was delicious, over the years it's gone downhill. Last time I went, about 3 months ago, I ordered a salad that was supposed to come with spinach (as the menu stated) but it was instead made with ice berg lettuce. The blueberries on it were moldy as well. Our server was super nice about it and I could tell she was stressed so I wasn't that mad but just disappointed. My boyfriend ordered steak and eggs and the steak was bland, which was the second time he's complained of that. My wife had their monte Cristo, and the turkey looked like it was shredded turkey, and she said it was just missing some thing like it wasn't battered enough. Once I found out that this place is run by the same people that handle the Rusty Spoon out in Perry we had to go. Love the Rusty Spoon, but it is a bit of a drive. This place is much closer and the food is excellent. Same friendly service. Tried the Turkey Dinner and it is my fault I did not show up with enough of an appetite. Serving is big and well worth it. This place is great. Excellent bacon, really nice servers, and a cool open concept design inside. The coffee varies -- seems like the run the same coffee through 2 or 3 times before refilling so hopefully you get a 1st batch and not the second or third. But there is also a sign on the wall clearly stating (hilariously) not to complain about the coffee, because you are cold & bitter sometimes too (or something).
