I stopped by with a colleague for a quick breakfast. When we walked in the staff was a little hesitant to seat us as she said they have limited staff and may not get to us. Nevertheless we sat down and waited maybe 10 minutes and then we ordered. The service was good despite the solo staff working. I ordered the Combo Breakfast with crunchy French toast and my colleague ordered the breakfast burrito. The portions were huge, I loved the hash browns, eggs. The French toast was also crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfect. I'd definitely come back!

    Rusted Spoon fish sandwich

The fish sandwich is good, it comes with a choice of fries, onion rings and or tots. The tots are delicious so are the hash browns! The Rusted spoon is a good old fashion diner. with great service. A must try! They serve breakfast, linch and dinner.

    Chicken fried steak

A great small restaurant with lovely comfort food options for breakfast and lunch. Honestly, I just searched something along the lines of "country fried steak" and found this place very close by. Service was quick and all the servers were attentive. It felt like a very genuine, small town restaurant where everyone is friendly and knows each other. I got their Chicken Fried Steak with soup (Cream of Celery today - salty and tasty), onion rings, and a scone. I wasn't able to finish the food (there was a heck of a lot of it - I scarfed it down quickly), so I took some of the food to go... I'll be curious to see how it is the next day. Bonus: they even offer a 10% military discount! I came in uniform and didn't even ask for it.

We popped over to have brunch at the Rusted Spoon after a late night. We did have to wait about 10-15 minutes for a table of 2 at 11:30 am on a Sunday, but that wasn't too bad; we opted to wait in our car since it was pretty busy in their foyer. After we seated, we ordered coffees and water, then an order of the crunchy French toast and their simple eggs, sausage, toast, and potatoes plate. Our food took a little longer than anticipated, but it was also super busy. My crunchy French toast wasn't so crunchy when it arrived but was still super tasty. It was even better at home when I could air fry it back to life. Our sunny side eggs were a little under done, so we mixed it into the also under done potatoes to make both more manageable to eat. My partner's toast was super buttery and worked well with his sausage and my bacon. Overall, it was an okay diner restaurant. We'll try some other foods the next time we swing by.

This is their attempt to show you that prices on the menu are different.

I reached out to the company directly before posting my review of their company online to see if they would make it right, shocker they didn't. I recently visited Rusted Spoon on 2/23/2025 and experienced several issues that I feel need to be addressed. First, there was a clear discrepancy between the prices listed on your menu and the amount I was charged per the receipt. What?! You're not going to have your wait staff say anything to the customers when they are looking at the menu. The listed price was $8.49 for two egg breakfast and $11.49 for 3 egg BYO Skillet, but I was charged $12.98 for two egg breakfast and $15.99 for 3 egg BYO Skillet, instead. Plus, if you look online at their menu their pricing is also different. This practice is not only misleading but also illegal under consumer protection laws, as businesses are required to honor the prices they advertise. In addition to the pricing issue, the service during my visit was extremely disappointing. We waited nearly 45 minutes for meals that were not complex (food was subpar), and during that time, our waitress never checked in on us. There was no real customer service, nor did management on-site offer any support or assistance. This lack of attention and care made the experience even more frustrating. I was told by the manager on duty since eggs are up that's the reason for the price increase which I let her know that it was not my problem, but they needed to clearly define their prices on the menu for the consumers. Then she let me know that new menus are being printed which is poor business management. I don't understand how a company can imply that it's the consumers fault for not reading their little signs not clearly posted that their increase in prices. My niece gave them a zero out of zero and I stand with her on that grading system. I'm shocked that they are still in business. I would never ever eat or support this business, EVER.

Delicious breakfast food! We finally tried this place after driving by a million times and we loved it! We both had the skillet, which you can customize with your desired toppings. We also ordered the 1/2 biscuit & gravy. Normally we're disappointed when we order this other places, because we're judging it with southern food. But The Rusted Spoon did such a good job! Tastes just like we're in Georgia! The French toast were small, but delicious. You can pay to have them extra crispy, but we opted for normal and they were perfectly crispy. The decor is typical for a diner. The bathrooms were clean and the ladies' room has a changing table.

Food was very good, hot and tasty. My wife had the Country French Toast with peaches and cream, I had a traditional Chicken Fried Steak. Both were delicious. On the down side, coffee was weak, and at the time we were there, two large groups of 10 or more made servicing tabletops of 2 or 4 VERY slow. That said, staff was friendly, smiled lots, and as busy as they were, still managed to check-in to see how we were doing.

    Pancakes and maple syrup

Wow!! Both our food and waitress were amazing! Portion sizes are HUGE and everything we ordered tasted great. We had pancakes, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, sausage and bacon plus the scone with honey butter (GET ONE!). It's a traditional old-school diner with a homey feel. We never lacked drinks as all waitresses rotated with coffee and water and everyone was super friendly. Definitely recommend!

Build your own skillet + scone, biscuits & gravy with hash browns and bacon!

The service isn't great. The food is just okay. But the atmosphere basically makes up for it. It's a fun place to eat.

I've been a long-time customer of No Frills Diner in Ogden, and my wife and I used to come here…read moreregularly because the food was great and the portions were worth the price. Our absolute favorite thing on the menu was the Caramel Apple Stuffed French Toast. It was two thick pieces of cream-cheese stuffed French toast topped with apples, caramel, crumble, and whipped cream, and you actually got two of those pieces per order, plus bacon and eggs. It was easily one of the best breakfast plates in Ogden and the main reason we kept coming back. Yesterday we came in and found out they completely removed it from the menu. Huge disappointment right out of the gate. They still have mixed berry, banana caramel, and peach versions. I can't eat the berry because of an allergy, and we've had the peach before and didn't care for it, so we tried the banana caramel crunch instead. Service was slower than usual. There's a help-wanted sign when you walk in and it looked like a new employee was being trained, so that part was understandable. What wasn't understandable was when the food showed up. The portion has been cut in half. What used to be two stuffed French toast pieces per order is now only one, but the price is the same. My wife and I have both had weight-loss surgery, so we're definitely not people who need massive portions. But cutting the plate by 50% while charging the same price just feels like a bad move. Even though we split meals we made it up by tipping are wait staff, the difference as if we would have ordered two meals, Removing a customer favorite and shrinking portions at the same time is a good way to lose longtime customers. Cute little diner, just hope the owners can rethink this issue. All things change and not always for the good. We used to recommend No Frills to everyone. After this visit, it's hard to say we will anymore or visit ourselves.
