Atmosphere was very rustic, cozy, and welcoming. Fireplace in the center of the room draws you in. Overall for service and food the price was pretty high. If I pay high end prices I want to receive the best services and best food. Service was not the great, yelp lists it as being Gluten Free, but the server knew nothing about Gluten Free. Extensive alcohol list, however again pretty steep prices, majority of the wins are more than $50 a bottle. This is our second time here. The place is beautiful, extremely cozy with the brick fireplace in the middle of the restaurant and couches around it where you can have a drink and sit by the fire. We were here last night on new years eve and the food and service as always was excellent. We had the apple salad as an appetizer as they provide a very warm crusty bread with whipped butter and it goes well with a simple salad. For entrée we ordered the salmon with leek mashed potatoes and skirt steak with roasted round potatoes (delicious) and for dessert the root beer cookies which were incredible! We ordered the warm winter cider drink and truly does warm you up, it was definitely a good choice on a cold night. We ate at the Saddle Room on Friday Oct. 11 at 7pm and the restaurant was half full of guests and we were seated immediately. We had high expectations as it is one of the most expensive restaurants within miles with a very impressive creative menu and many unique dishes. The decor is nice with a few lovely fireplaces you can enjoy a drink at and an outdoor area that would be welcome in the summer months. The food was rather average and fell far short of our expectations. We ordered the Beef Short Ribs, Gnocchi and Mahi Mahi. Most of the food was warm at best. The Beef Ribs ($34.95) was the smallest 18oz portion I have ever seen and highly doubt it was braised for 8hrs as it was a little chewy with little flavor once the scarce marinade/gravy was gone with the first few bites. Braised beef ribs that claimed to be braised for 8 hrs should be moist, juicy and falling off the bone but this was not the case. The Gnocchi was dry with no sauce or gravy of any kind. One of the highlights was the bread basket, large water and iced tea glass that was never refilled. The service was ok and the waiter seemed knowledgeable of the menu. Went here on Saturday night the 25th for the first time--my dining partner has been a frequent guest here. Despite the big crowd we were seated very quickly. We each had a signature Martini--very yummy. Bit of a wait for the drinks, but again, given the crowd this was understandable and the waiter kept us informed. Started with the BLT Tamale--very tasty. We ordered the "Pigs Can Fly" and lamb chops, respectively, and the food came out beautifully. We also had the brussels sprouts as a side and they were a nice change. The waiter was able to recommend wines by the glass for both of us to have with dinner. AND THEN! Root beer cookies. STOP THE PRESSES AND HOLD THE PHONE! Too good. We saw this place off the highway and decided to go for my mom's birthday. We loved it. The food was excellent including the sweets at the end. The chef does a lot of custom food you don't find other places or maybe not even on your second visit. I have an allergy to wheat (gluten free) and they were extremely accommodating! Thank you to Nicole for providing us a great night out with friends! The Saddle Room is a fun adult restaurant and bar....and in the spring and summer the gigantic outdoor experience is something that you don't find anywhere else in the Schaumburg area. They play great music that you can enjoy but not have to yell over; some excellent food choices; and a wide variety of salads and sides to make a great dining experience. The place is busy so get on line and make reservations and then arrive early so you can enjoy drinks around the bar or try the cozy fireplace seating area in the middle of the place, indoors!! Two of us at the table had the Flat Steak - fabulous flavor, done just right. And the sweet potato with smoked gouda complimented the flavor just perfect! We had an order of Paiche, which seemed a small portion compared to other entrees at the table. And we also had the Backyard BBQ Bacon and Egg salad entree with a side of Brussels Sprouts, which were fabulous as the whole table shared. Great service, with excellent recommendations on all fronts. We brought two people with us who had never been to the Saddle Room prior and will definitely be back again. Phenomenal! Everything from the ambiance to the service to the food here is superb! Please note though this is a tad bit pricey, it is absolutely worth it! I consider dining here a real treat. Their cocktails are a must-try and their martinis always pour to the very rim! I ordered the turkey burger for lunch and it was cooked perfectly - a burst of flavors. OTB on the other side of the bar if you're into that. Other than that, prepare to enjoy the full experience here. read more

Phenomenal environment, even better food!

The prime rib pizza was to die for. Such an interesting combination with the egg, but so delicious. Would HIGHLY recommend this pizza. Split that with 2 desserts and drinks, it was the perfect meal. Definitely recommend the peach sangria and cognac square (cheesecake) for dessert was to die for. I'm a huge chocolate person but so glad my boyfriend convinced us otherwise because it was amazing. The best cocktail place in the northwest suburbs. Some of the martinis can be a little on the sweet side but all are creative and taste great. The ambiance in this dark and rustic. Great for dates. The patios have wood burning fireplaces going at night that look over natural wetlands. Awesome place for watching the sun set. All the food I have had has been really good also, so maybe I just picked the good stuff off the menu. Tuna tar tar was amazing, the roasted pear salad I cleaned my plate and my dates plates leftovers. The filet and duck were both great. This place is officially my new favorite suburb place. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. My disappointment was with the menu. The food is very unique and overpriced. They are trying way too hard to cater to a specific demographic; a foodie that doesn't mind paying extra. My group of friends had difficulty selecting something from the menu. The steaks were raw in the middle and the outside was equivalent to chewing on coffee grinds. Even the Caesar salad was way over complicated and my friend spent more time cutting it up and building it herself than eating it. Definitely not worth the price. read more

This poor experience is a 1st at ANY restaurant I have been to! It was so unfortunate because my family went here for a birthday dinner. Two small children in our group ordered a burger off the "adult menu" and were splitting it as explained to the server. The burger was ordered medium. The burger arrived, we cut it in half and separated on each plate. In the dim lighting it was hard to see at first but the burger was definitely rare. We told the waitress. She took the burger and didn't apologize. She came back shortly with the same burger we gave her! So this was 1/2 of a reheated burger. (She didn't pick up the plate with the other half that was sitting on the table RARE.) We could not believe this! So the 2 children were not only getting a reheated burger which had cheese, egg and bacon on it also reheated, but now we only have 1/2 a burger to share. We mentioned our disappointed to the waitress and she asked if we wanted to speak to her manager. He came over and only made it worse since he saw nothing wrong with this. He did not apologize either. In fact his reply was "Well, we didn't know that the other half of burger that was left on the table wasn't ok for you." HUH??? We ordered a burger medium and received it rare so how would it ever be "ok" suddenly to be RARE? Were we supposed to piece it together to make sure we got a full reheated burger back? We have eaten at the nicest and best restaurants in the city and burbs and in many parts of the world in fact. We have also eaten at fast food restaurants all over. We have never been given a reheated burger if it was not cooked to specifications........not to mention only getting half of the burger back!!!!!!!! Not even in the fast food places. This one takes the cake! At least if you are going to keep such a low standard and reheat a burger could you provide a full one that we paid for? lol. BTW: Every eating establishment makes mistakes! It's not the error that makes the place bad......it is how it is handled. We didn't ONCE hear an apology.......NOT once. We also didn't get a thank you when handed the bill. read more

Ive been here several times and have nothing but good things to say. In warm weather the outdoor deck is delightful. In cold weather, grab a seat around the fireplace and have one of their awesome drinks. The tortellini is awesome. It is topped with yummy goat cheese. The flatbreads are all good, as are the beef short ribs. Some of the menu items are described in very flowery terms but fret not.. the servers are very knowledgeable and great at making recommendations. Definitely for adults! I always stop here before heading to Cabelas. I like the decor, the fireplace and the food is good. I just tried their Sunday brunch today and watched the football game. A diverse menu, but it's really all about pork. And it's pork done right! Pigs in Flight is a great choice for first timers. Pork Shank is unreal! Calamari appetizer is one of the best I've ever had. I don't know how to describe the dinner rolls other than, they fit more in the dessert category. Martinis are some of their signature cocktails. I I have gone to the Saddle Room and the Turf Room many many many times they have Nevis martinis the best food the atmosphere is great is definitely the place to go if you want to have a good time relax and catch up all of their servers are fantastic and if you get the chance have a pomegranate martini any number of their steaks are phenomenal and the Turf Room actually has the lobster bisque soup which is served table side amazing both great restaurant read more

I had a great steak, but my wife's salmon was served cold so we sent it back. They did bring it back warm, but the wife said it lacked flavor. I hate eating in shifted , I was done before my wife's meal came back out. I blame the server he must have left hers sit there! They did take of the charge for her meal and the apperitzer we had. Beautiful setting. You can sit on the couch and have drinks in front of a large wood burning fireplace. Todd, the manager is awesome. Should you have a problem, make sure you let him know. He is all about you being taken care of and happy with your dining experience. The drinks are generous.
