I went to Aladdin's today to try the viral chicken shawarma wrap. I had no idea what restaurants serve this in Greensboro until I saw a video on tick tock doing a food review on Aladdin's. On Sundays they open at 12 noon. So I did a little shopping and came on over for lunch. When I pulled into the parking lot it seemed kind of full which is to be expected when a tick tock went viral just yesterday, I think. The restaurant itself seemed clean. There was plenty of space to sit down and eat. There were booths and tables with chairs. The girls at the service counter were exceptionally kind. There was a little bit of a wait on the food but not too bad. I ordered ahead of time and they told me about 20ish minutes and I got mine in 25 minutes. I was a little disappointed because they didn't have the chicken ready so I didn't want to wait an extra 45 minutes. So I just went ahead and ordered the beef shawarma wrap and I ordered creamy cucumber salad. Honestly, it tasted pretty good but it wasn't anything to write home to Mama about. Was it worth the $12 just for the wrap? I personally don't think so. It's not bad at all. Would I get it again, probably. But I also want to try other places that may make this so I have something to compare it to. If you're craving a chicken shawarma because you've been seeing people eat it all over social media........ Go ahead and go on over to Aladdin's to at least give it a try yourself. I was heading to another spot that happened to be closed so my friend suggested we try Aladdin's. I'm so glad she did. The food reminded me of my trips to Istanbul. The food was delicious and authentic. It was not Americanized Mediterranean. The spices were Smokey and unique. I had the chicken shawarma with fries and the cucumber sauce. Best I've had since Turkey. We also split the appetizer platter and I thought the falafel was outstanding and worth a standing ovation. The texture was moist and flavorful. Went here for lunch during a training. I've seen it many times but never took a chance to stop in. So glad we did! The service was a bit slow but the food was fresh and amazing. My friend got the sampler and I got the chicken shawarma entree. The only down side was that the cheese on the sampler was CRAZY SALTY!!! We tried mixing it with other things to hide the salt but it didn't help. There were leftovers, as usual, and I'm excited to eat the rest! We loved this place we sat down immediately and had a couple questions about the menu and our server was very helpful. We got the double XL box that came with two wraps and were full after the first one. Both the beef and the chicken were flavorful and moist I'd recommend getting one of each to try both. Officially on my short list of can't-miss spots. I ordered the mixed shawarma entree with 2 sides - their creamy cucumber (like tzatziki) and hummus. Best tzatziki I've had. The shawarma entree was unbelievably good. Juicy, perfectly seasoned, and a large portion size. Had a hard time saving half for lunch tomorrow! The service was fast and also exceptionally friendly. The food is always spot on, and they have so many options for everyone, including picky eaters, vegans, etc. The staff is so awesome and very helpful! Aladdin's was more than happy to take our large order for 35 folks with same day service! The gal who answered the phone was extremely patient and answered all of my questions! Everyone in the meeting was so impressed. We had 3 family plater with 3 types of kabobs and rice with all of the sides! So the next time we went and sat in the restaurant! This place is delicious! We have been wanting to try it for a long time and I'm so glad we did. The food is outstanding, and the prices are great, especially for the amount of food you get. We had the Double Wrap Box which came with 2 wraps - Chicken and Beef, plus fries. We also had the Chicken over rice. I highly recommend adding the Spicy Turkish which is a nice addition to the richness of each meal, adding a hint of freshness. The sauces add a nice flare, too. The tenderness and texture of the meat was perfect. No notes! I am particular about my falafel, but this was top notch. It was SO moist and wasn't overly crumbly. The flavor was spot on. This is a nice sit down casual Mediterranean spot with such flavorful food! The kofta and baba ghanoush tasted authentic and I would order again. The garlic sauce was a nice addition. Such a lovely spot! The inside is decorated well and has plenty of seating if you want to eat in, however plenty of folks were grabbing their orders to go. The service was just fine, you can grab drinks on your own too once you have your cup for faster refills as well. Wonderful new place serving middle eastern cuisine in Greensboro, we are already spoiled with plenty of top-notch options, and you can add Aladdin's Shawarma to that list without a doubt. I came for lunch on a weekday, later than most, and there were a couple of tables occupied. The young man working the counter was also doubling as a waiter and asked me to take a seat since I was dining in. The restaurant is clean and sleek, well-lit by both natural and artificial light, and maximizes their seating space. I was quite comfortable at my own booth by the window. I ordered a rice bowl with the mixed shawarma, which included a beverage at lunch, much appreciated. I also always have to try the falafel at any new restaurant of this type that I visit, so I got an order of those, to which 6 were included. We'll start there, the falafel, were perfect! Crispy on the outside, but moist and flavorful inside. Dipped in the tahini, I could not have been happier, and this boded well for the rest of my meal. I could see myself coming back in the future for a veg meal featuring the falafel on its own. My mixed shawarma bowl the came out in a nice wide bowl. The entire top was covered in protein, each bite full a mix of chicken a beef. Of the two proteins, I preferred the beef, it was hearty, spicy, and had an abundance of grilled flavor. The chicken was interesting, it too was nicely spiced and grilled, though it APPEARED to be dry. In reality biting into it, it did not taste dry, it was almost like somewhere between roasted chicken and like a chicken jerky. Still, I enjoyed it, I was just kind of perplexed by it. Overall, no complaints from me. I think at lunch I would be totally fine just having counter service (that's generally true of me at most places at any time). I will definitely be back! read more

I give this place 4 stars because they open late (11pm). That's awesome and needed in a city that closes early. A healthy option open past 10. Service was great, the ladies were nice and helpful. Food was okay. The rice needs to be cleaned up, do not leave the fennel pods in the rice! Terrible. Had to comb through the rice to pick them out. The chicken dish was bland. This is our second time.. friendly and warm service from the second you walk in the door. We started with a cup of the Arabic coffee.. freshly roasted and brewed generously thick. Our service team is humble and takes pride in what is being served. It's nice to have water served in real glasses.. and serving some of the dishes on an embossed cutting board is cute. The food is fresh, clean and straightforward. We haven't been able to finish our meals in both instances, but look forward to having the leftovers! The falafel is top notch.. just the right amount of spices and super crisp outside. The qalyat lahma was very tender and warmed us up. This is a fairly new restaurant. The outside will definitely catch your eye as you're approaching while driving. Inside is big, bright, clean, and has a lot of seating. When I visited, there was only one of the customer sitting in a booth . I asked if I could sample the baba ganoush because that's really what I came for. I have been trying to find a spot that has babaganoush like Jack's Corner did. I miss that place soooo much! Anywho, now, I ask to sample babaganoush before I purchase because everyone makes it differently--some chunky, some puréed, some unseasoned and bland. I've tasted it all. This particular babaganoush, I didn't really care for it. It was way too chunky and had a weird flavor. I was greatful that I was able to try a sample before spending almost $10 on something that I would not have eaten. Not my cup of tea, but go in and try it for yourself. This place is awesome! I was in the Greensboro area hoping to get some authentic Mediterranean food. I am so happy that I looked up Aladdin's Shawarna. The flavors are the star here. Kudos to all of the chefs here because the food was absolutely delicious. You can taste the cardamom in the rice, the chicken and beef were tender and the portions are enough to last for multiple meals. I ordered the chicken over rice. Love trying new Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food this time I got to check out Aladdin's Shawarma which is a new spot here in Greensboro! Love the way they made the restaurant look and how they brought out the food on wooden boards with their restaurant name laser engraved into the board. Me and my friend wanted to try a couple different things since it was our first time, the waiter recommended we try the fried cheese appetizer he did warn us that the cheese itself was very salty but it's supposed to compliment with the pita and salad. The cheese was pretty salty for sure but it did taste good with everything together. My friend got their chicken shawarma and I got their falafel sandwich. Amaaaaaaazing! Loved their food. I tried the grilled platter where there are 3 different meats over rice. You get to pick 2 sides which was the cucumber salad and the hummus for me. I ordered pita chips for my hummus and asked for the garlic sauce and the habibi sauce (spicy). The gentleman up front was very helpful when I ordered. Shummus is a favorite of ours, and this was flavorful, tender, and crunchy in all the right places. We added some shatta, as the hummus felt a little lacking in spice, but it was still excellent. My breakfast platter was a joy. I have missed having ful since relocating here and was overjoyed to find it on the menu. It was perfectly creamy and earthy.
