I came in to buy my new friend Laura a meal and a water. Roxie, claiming to be a manager, accused my new friend of being a solicitor and walk toward her to kick her off the property. My friend Laura didn't request anything from me or from anyone at the restaurant on this property. Roxie assumed she did without even after I told her she didn't. When I told her she didn't she didn't believe me despite me being the one asking for service and the bill. Your managers should not make assumptions. I'll not ever dine here based on this experience. One of the waitresses was kind and gave me a water for Laura (thank you for that decency) and I escorted Laura away from the hostility shown by Roxie and she left the property. Great specialty cocktails at a good price. My sister and I walked from the Sparkman's Wharf area for a short bar crawl. It was 10 minutes and a beautiful walk along the water. Of course, this is in April when it's not sweltering hot. They have a specialty cocktail list that's $14 each. I got a strawberry lemonade, which was delicious. It really hits the spot to grab a drink and look out on the water. They have umbrellas that were nice to sit under to shade you from sun (and for us, a light sprinkle when it started to rain a bit). We were here at 1 p.m. on a Wednesday, so not a prime time at all. There were only a couple other people here so it was super easy to order a drink and grab a seat. I think it's a great idea to start at lunch at The Pearl or Boulon, walk along the river, maybe stop at the Marriott bar, come here, then walk back to Sparkman's Wharf to end the day. read more

I had the pina colada they sever a variety of alcoholic beverages. Staff were attentive and DJ was awesome. He played several throw backs. The crowd is mid 30s +. It's super chill. I love the atmosphere of this place, but current management has made this an extremely toxic environment. The male cooks at Big Ray's verbally rate female employees by "how good they think they would be in bed" and then get into bloody fist fights, while preparing food on the line. The girls are told they "haven't been with real men yet" and then go into graphic details about what they would like to do to them. Multiple sexual harassment complaints have been brought to the HR department, but Linda fires anyone who tries to help these girls. HR barely exists at this point, meaning the complaints go straight to Linda now. Linda then tells the girls it is their own fault "for being nice to their male coworkers" and they should just "talk less to them". Linda clearly keeps her favorites protected and the men know this. They have even taunted the girls, telling them to "go ahead and report them, because there is no way Linda will ever fire them". And they are correct. I would be very careful taking your family into this kind of sexually overcharged, toxic environment. I'm very disappointed and expected so much more from the beautiful City of Tampa Bay. read more

Always a great spot to people watch while quenching your thirst. Service has always been friendly and attentive during my visits whether they were a hot second or full dining experience. I don't know why I haven't explored The Sail up until this point, because I have been across the water to establishments close by. I am so happy I gave it a shot. It is a beautiful place to go if you want to chill, have some casual drinks, people watch and perhaps partake in the public & private boat tours offered right across from it. You'll spot a lot of runners and people walking their dogs too. Drinks are reasonably priced, and service is fast, especially because you walk up to purchase your drinks and choose your own spot to set up camp. There are umbrellas to sit under, so although it was extremely hot, the gentle breeze and the shade provided by the umbrellas made in bearable. Drinks aren't the worst but service is slow . My big Problem was that I grabbed a drink there today and I witnessed the bar literally making bee traps and drowning them ! I grabbed the manager and brought it to his attention that I wasn't sure if he was aware he was trapping and drowning an endangered species and his response was "Well it's annoying to work with them". I just thought it was ridiculous they weren't covering their bar fruit and were willingly making their own traps to not only attract but kill an endangered species, instead of just closing their fruit containers . I wish I could give a better review for this spot because the location and ambience is great. It's right on the water, they had a good band playing on a Saturday night, and it seems like just a fun, chill place. However, the service is super slow, inaccurate, and the drinks are definitely on the pricy side considering the service. The servers were nice enough, but twice I had the incorrect mixer for my drink. The second time I mentioned it and they did fix it, but the time between ordering drinks and getting them was very long compared to most places. Some of the food sounded good, but my patience wore down and we opted to just go elsewhere so I didn't try any food. If the service could be better organized and quicker, I think it could be a fun place to hang out and take in the view on the water. read more

Nice place for drinks on the water. I have yet to eat here but that's partially because it has always been slammed every time I've tried to go there to eat. I have grabbed drinks here a couple times and it's just nice to be outside and on the water. I wouldn't say there's anything special about this place but it is more casual and a great place to stop along the riverwalk. I actually stopped here for drinks the weekend before the super bowl when they had festivities along the riverwalk. Prices are reasonable and better than other places along the riverwalk. They offered buckets to expedite service during such a chaotic time. This was a great idea because lines were long everywhere Hoping I can stop by some time to eat and test out the service and food sometime soon. I'm guessing my best bet is to go during the week because the weekends is almost impossible to get a seat or table. However at the same time I not in a hurry because nothing on the menu truly stands out to me that I need to try. If you like beer/wine, you should be happy. On the liquor side, the cocktails are very inconsistent. I'm typically not one to complain or ask for a drink to be re-made, but there have been times at this place I'll do that as they can just come out wildly different than what the menu describes and how you know they should taste. I find myself out on the Riverwalk on a Thursday evening the weather 80% chance of rain did that stop the party naaw we had family in town and we promised them a walk down the river. After hustling to find a parking spot hoping we had enough umbrellas in the truck we start our hike up the riverwalk. Just as you may know Riverwalk is beautiful in the evening with the sunset and neon lights from the bridge . We make our way up to The Sail and it was empty obviously because of the rain which was fine to us because we were getting the staff's full attention. The bartenders were beyond dope! I have been coming here forever. It is a great spot on Tampa Bay to hang for a bit enjoying the view and a cocktail. We are usually combining a stop here with some form of exercise, as it sits right on the Riverwalk. You may walk or bike along this beautiful sidewalk getting some vitamin D, taking in the sites and working off the calories that you will be consuming at the Sail in the form of liquids. They offer a food menu too, however I think I come for the beverages and typically go elsewhere for a bite. Service is spotty. I go knowing I will be going to the bar myself for a drink, especially when they are crowded on the weekends. I have even seen people bring their own food. That's a great idea. This spot is obviously casual. Bring the whole family, your four legged friend too. Yesterday they had a Mastiff Rescue fundraiser here. Drink are horrible, bartenders are impersonal and robotic, management, I believe his name was Tim, was miserable and rude. Not to mention there was a couple at the bar, older couple drinking a draft beer and the lady a corona. They had maybe 4 or 5 rounds each and I couldn't help but notice they had a 15$ tab!!! Please tell me how my fiancé and I can have 8 drinks here and get a $15 tab!! The couple places $50 in the book and said keep the change.
