We stumbled upon 511 franklin and immediately love the cozy vibe. 511 has so much room - it's a large space, drenched in wood decor, cozy booths and a long bar goes on for miles. The bar itself is a looker, lol. I was mesmerized with all the mirrored glass and artful displays. Really well done. We enjoyed several craft cocktails - all very good and made with care. We ordered food as well. His grilled cheese - the Ol' Smokey was made with pulled pork and quite tasty - a bit sweet for me, but I wouldn't have refused a second (or third) bite. My nachos looked amazing at first, but sadly, turned out to be only mediocre, at best. What's that phrase - lipstick on a pig, lol?!?! Def pass on the nachos. You could do better at home. Think cold cheese, store bought chips, cold rotel maybe and picked jalepenos, cover that all in shredded lettuce and top with thousand island. Not a home run. Can't go wrong with the Happy Hour here. I appreciate this place as it's actually 23+ to get in. Good food, themed nights with great deejays and drinks that taste like they're made correct. Service can be a little hectic as the bar does fill up quickly sometimes but the service most times is great and vibes are always on point here. Well it looks like after going a second time that they don't really want to offer the food much. It's to bad because the food really is quite good. racist club owner! prejudice workers! strict restroom usage! i am disgusted by this club and the way they handle usage of the restrooms! i was in the restroom fixing my shapewear and i heard banging so i told them hold on they completely rushed me out of the rest room and i was asked to leave because i expressed that its not fair to rush a lady in the restroom! do not come here unless you want someone monitoring how long you use the restroom. meanwhile there are three restrooms here. theyre very strict about restroom useage and will not be patient or show respectful . this is a predominantly caucasian club on most nights, so i assume the restroom structure is due to people doing drugs in the restroom because at night security is flashing flash lights towards the bathroom area and rushing people through the walkway to the restroom my friend also told me the bartenders and management was very prejudice to her so do not come here read more

Beautiful new bar located downtown Tampa. As of this review, it has been open for a couple of months. The decor is outstanding very classy, they have a huge bar with bottles of liquor adorning the bar. Also have several televisions as well as tables and booths. The staff are all gorgeous. Service was very good and the drinks are delicious. They advertise that it's 23 and up to avoid some of the younger college crowd. Their hours are Monday 3PM-12AM. Tuesday 3PM-12AM, Wednesday 3PM-1AM, Thursday 3PM-2AM, Friday 3PM-3AM, Saturday 12PM-3AM and Sunday 12PM-12AM. They offer snacks and handhelds as well as charcuterie board for food, but I did not eat anything at this visit. They have a great wine list and mostly Florida brewery beer selections. This establishment is outright RACIST and SEXIST, and I strongly urge anyone considering visiting to think twice. My friends and I had a reserved table, yet when our two Mexican friends tried to join us, they were told they needed to purchase two bottles to meet a supposed "minimum." Meanwhile, women faced no such requirement. Let's be clear: this wasn't about money--these men are doctors at Tampa General, more than capable of contributing. This was about targeting and excluding them because of their ethnicity and gender. Despite their willingness to buy drinks and a bottle, it took five attempts just for them to even sit at our booth and then ultimately they still asked them to leave to force them to buy. Frustrated by the mistreatment, they ultimately left. Other tables with mixed gender groups didn't have any minimums at all, making it obvious this policy wasn't applied fairly. Women and men were open freely to enter other booths and no one said anything. Later that night, three white men casually entered our booth after our tab was closed, and no one cared. White men were allowed to stay, contribute NOTHING, and go unchecked, while my Mexican friends who had money and would have contributed were made to feel like they didn't belong. When I addressed this with the GM, "Regina, or "Redina" her response was dismissive and insulting. She claimed it was my job to notify her staff about the uninvited men, despite their prior micromanagement of my mexican friends. When I asked whether my friends would have been treated differently if they identified as female, she and her VIP table partner actually laughed on my face. Their mockery was disgusting, especially given that I have family in the LGBTQ+ community. This place has no integrity or respect for people of color or marginalized groups. Their actions are discriminatory, hypocritical, and shameless. If you value decency and equality, STAY FAR AWAR from this establishment. They don't deserve your support. read more

Be careful. My wife and her friend were drugged by the bartender last night. After only 2 cocktails we almost had to take them to the hospital. Both of them became violently ill minutes apart about 15 minutes after drinking a cocktail they got from the bar by themselves. Love the ambiance of this new bar located in downtown Tampa. If you are familiar with the Stanton and Bowery restaurant group, this is the first location brought to the Tampa Bay area. They ID for 23+ so be prepared to show your ID at the door. The bar is full service with specialty handcrafted cocktails. Depending on your preference there seems to be a nice selection from bottom to top shelf liquors. I went with the Manhattan and was pleasantly surprised as I'm typically an Old Fashioned girl. This was a little sweeter but with a rye whiskey it was a nice balance. Now let's talk about the food---this is a primarily cold kitchen restaurant so you'll notice they serve light bites and handhelds but don't let this sway you. The chef is definitely doing his thing in the kitchen to create some nice concepts that are enjoyable. The buffalo chicken wrap was fantastic and served hot with a side of the best chips I ever had! They are dusted with a seasoning that really turns this side into the star of the plate. I had the absolute worst experience here last night and didn't even make it inside. My friends and I were on the VIP list and got in line as directed by the staff because we were on the VIP list, there were plenty of other white people in that line but some asshole that seemed to be staff targeted us (we were the ONLY non white people there) and told us he doesn't know why she told us to stand there that there is no VIP line and being blatantly racist towards us. When clearly there was a VIP line. He was rude as hell, he has no idea who he turned away, and all we were trying to do was spend money and enjoy a night out. If all the staff is like this and this is how 511 likes to treat paying customers then I will never support this establishment.
