Whenever I come to Pasadena this place is number one on my list of must dos! The whole place is pleasant ,and smells great, and the people who work there are sweet. I was looking for an outdoor massage studio and discovered the Salt Studio was giving massages in an outdoor space. After researching them and talking to them on the phone, it seemed like they had thought of every safety precaution, and I decided to commit to trying it, which was a big deal for me during this time of COVID. I was put as ease as soon as I got there. The experience was wonderful, and my therapist was very, very good- all while wearing a mask and visor and being sensitive to every safety consideration. I was able to actually relax and enjoy the massage. There was a bit of traffic noise but it soon faded away and I felt like the setting was private and protected. A relaxing place to go if you have respiratory problems, skin or sinus allergies. I like that they have a child friendly room and an adult room. I have taken my daughter there many times when she gets a stuffy nose or when she is starting to come down with a cold or flu and a few sessions, she clears up. I also went with her once while having some of my own symptoms and in just 2 days I felt 100%. When I first was told about the place, my wife made it sound like a room with a sand box made of salt and I was just skeptical and apprehensive about what seemed like BS. But, when I went to visit and they explained I would need to stay in the room for a period of time with the door closed, I got confused...what for I asked....Well because we pump in a fine mist of medical grade salts. OH, NOW I GET IT. Granted my wife was not wrong there was a sand box filled with salt that my daughter and I played in with toys like at the beach, plus we read books, and did some toy dinosaur play too. After the session is over, I drank lots of water and our noses ran continuously, flushing the junk out of my system. Cool place, I have now recommended this place to half a dozen patients and then have all expressed improvement from their sessions including one with a 2 month long chronic sinus infection that went away with three sessions. I enjoy the atmosphere and the staff are friendly and laid back. I will be back as needed. read more

This was a very cool find. The ambiance at Salt Studio is so relaxing, modern, and down to earth. The salt room itself is very spacious compared to the other salt places I've visited. The treatment was very relaxing and the heat therapy bean bag for my shoulders and neck made it an even better experience. The owner is very friendly. He is a Respiratory Therapist who knows his stuff. He and his wife purchased the salt machines from the same people who did the initial studies that everyone cites when they talk about halotherapy benefits. It's nice to know they're using a machine that has been used in studies where patients have seen huge health improvements. As for myself, I love salt therapy because it has helped with my keratosis pilaris (a skin condition), I breathe better, sleep better, my allergies have decreased, I don't get sick as often (and when I do it isn't for as long as it used to be), and I have felt serious decreases in my stress levels. Currently, I have a membership at a different place in the San Fernando Valley, but can't wait for it to be over so that I can sign up here. I got to peak into the children's salt room and it looks like kids would have a blast in there. I take my 7 year old niece to the salt room I currently visit and she get's so bored because there is little to no space for her to play. I can't wait to bring her here, even if it's a little bit further of a drive. read more

Those of you that read my reviews of service providers will be familiar with my format. This is my first review of a studio so I will be following a different style. The journey that brought me to The Salt Studio was the need for a massage which I had gifted my Mom for Christmas. I know, you're asking yourself 'the journey that brought YOU to The Salt Studio...?' Okay, my Mom loves spending time with me AND she loves getting a massage. I simply combined the two activities into a gift. So, YES I suppose you could say I benefited from my Mom's gift if you really want to split hairs but I did buy her a nice lunch afterwards! Physical Experience. With a service that is largely based on a physical experience, I will say that the expertise of the practitioner is right up there in terms of what I base my rating on. In the case of Diana, who I received my massage from, she is a nationally certified massage therapist. I will also give you some context on which to validate my rating and comments. I have been getting massages for about 35 years and during this time I have had massages in many states in the US as well as internationally. To provide you with an exact or even approximate count would cause me to think too hard and I'm still relaxed from yesterday. Let's just say I've had a lot of massages during this time on which to compare the one I had yesterday. The one I had yesterday at The Salt Studio was the best, most relaxing, healing, restorative massage I have ever had. Diana asked me what many others ask, 'is the pressure alright' and 'how are you feeling?' but the actual 'product' she delivered was simply not comparable to anything I've ever received. I'm glad I opted for the 90 minute massage which I endorse without reservation. The service I will be coming back for and which I caught a sneak peak and whiff of is the Salt Therapy which consists of a wonderful room of relaxation set with chairs where tiny salt particles are dispersed by a state of the art halo generator that creates a negative ion condition which is very good, I have learned, for those with respiratory conditions. The story behind this is fascinating. Apparently, it was first discovered in the mid 18th century in Poland when a health official noted that workers in a local salt mine were not contracting lung disease at the same rate as the rest of the adjacent populations. Ambiance. This room, as with the rest of the studio, makes up the second aspect of my rating for this very unique service type: ambiance. When you walk into the studio, you immediately slow down. My shoulders moved like an escalator going down, from their typical position of just under my ears, to wherever shoulders are supposed to be. Across from a comfortable sofa where you are invited to wait for services, is a display of items you can purchase where I got awesome gift ideas--you won't find these anywhere else because all are unusual and many are made by The Salt Studio. The room I had my massage in was similarly appointed: quiet; semi lit; gentle music, appropriate for the occasion; sheet and blanket soft to the touch; a glass of water and plenty of hooks on which to place clothes and belongings. Staff. Staff, depending on how many services I'm having can be more important than location and access, but in this instance, it was the other way around. The process of checking in an out was seamless, which, with this type of experience, is exactly what you want--no fuss, no muss. What is terrific is the location and the access. It is two minutes from the off ramp of the 210 freeway at Hill and Walnut. Although you cannot see the address or name, the fashionable brown structure of buildings on the southwest corner of Walnut and Hill is where you will turn right and make an almost immediate left (you will see Wellness "n" More). Follow the arrows and you will see MANY parking places for which you pay nothing. Zip. Zero. The Salt Studio is tucked away in the far southwest corner. I went to the Salt Studio yesterday for a salt session and reiki session- both of which I have never tried before. I was greeted with warmth and hospitality from the moment I stepped through the front door. The 2 hour experience was incredible. The vibe in the salt room is so tranquil and refreshing. I walked out of there with not only clearer lungs, but my mind felt clear as well. Then I headed next door to the reiki room. I had no idea what to expect, but the healing session was incredibly powerful. I felt buzzy and tingly all day, and also a calm and happiness from my session. I also had some wacky dreams last night. I can't wait to take the reiki workshops there both for myself and for my aspirations to be the best mother I can be to my kids. Highly recommend! Diana and Kristen are the best at what they do. I have been bringing my 5 year old son here since summer of 2013. My son suffers from asthma, allergies and upper respiratory problems. The doctor had placed him on Albuterol and when things get bad then on a steroid med. All I can say is that this place has been phenomenal. He is barely on any meds now. His asthma is not completely gone but it has improved by 90%. We made the mistake of not taking him in for 3 weeks and the symptoms came back. So I know this works for us. Please talk to your doctor, but for our kid it has improved his symptoms. The staff is the best, friendly, knowledgeable and not pushy. read more

I don't know how this business became attached to this review and have NEVER been to the Salt Studio. So, finals were upon me and I needed some stress relief!! I ALMOST booked a massage with Burke Williams ($$$!) and decided to check out some other routes for a relaxing massage. I think BW is more fun with a couple of friends anyway. I found Diana on YELP! and there was a special deal going on. So I checked out the reviews and booked it ASAP. Diana's massage studio is on their residential property, and I felt very welcome. Diana was gentle and nice. She allowed me to choose my massage scent. I Love aroma therapy!! The scent was so nice to have throughout the duration of the massage. And unlike many other massage places, it did not cost extra. The massage table was very stable, heated and comfortable. The blanket and sheets were snuggly. I prefer strong pressure in a massage, and she worked her way up to a very good pressure for me. There was spa music and water flow sound in the studio and she also has bolster pillows to add extra comfort while laying on the massage bed. I recommend Diana and her wonderful healing powers of massage. In Short, I'll be back :-) read more

Not only is this place owned by the sweetest, kindest people, it's also a unique oasis of healing! I've loved each salt sessions I've had (one of which helped clear upper lung congestion that was stubborn and not going away). I recommend the mud wrap as the best spa treatment I've ever experienced. And, I have shared the products that Diana makes and sells from the studio with many friends. Her oil blend, Renew, is my favorite (though I also love Goddess, Joy and Happiness). I like to purchase her blends as room sprays -- a few sprays in any room of my home, or on me when I leave the house, raises the vibration and lifts the mood. i've been going to diana for a few months now and there's a reason i keep coming back to her she's really good at giving feedback.. first thing i do when i see her is tell her what i've been doing and what kinds of pains i'm feeling to give her an idea.. then we zero in on the trouble areas.. each time, she was able to get me very relaxed and feeling much better afterwards.. the reason i do this is because i work out quite frequently and i actually do need the feedback diana is also incredibly nice.. i actually came back from her today, a sunday, because i felt a pop in my back yesterday which resulted in a kind of pain i should not have been feeling.. she called me back today and made an exception for me to see her as today is not her normal day for this, but i was in a good amount of pain and i am very very appreciative for what she did for me lastly, plenty of parking on the street where she is, so no worries there.. and she has limited days, so call ahead to schedule it out first as long as she's still around, i'll keep coming by read more

I have been going to the Salt Studio for the past year. They have an amazing deal on monthly memberships, I highly recommend trying it for a year. I have tried the Salt room, the kids salt room with my son, massages from Pilar and Organic facials from Kathleen. Both Pilar and Kathleen are amazing!!!!! I've never experienced a facial that makes me fall asleep because I'm so relaxed, but every time I fall asleep. The owner is also amazing. Really great experience. Treated myself to a mini birthday spa day. Spent 35 minutes in the negative ion salt detox room, amazing and so relaxing. Then a salt scrub and 90 min massage.
