This has to be hands down the most cute, quiet and unique spa I've been too! The salt room was very new to me, but a very healing experience. I've had a chair massage as well as acupuncture done in the salt room, and I reassure you, it is an experience like no other. I've had a number of facials done as well. Diana gave me a body scrub and massage (total 90 minutes). I have never left a massage (and I've had many) so thoroughly relaxed and loose. She worked on my tense shoulders and a stiff hip, really working out the tension and stretching the muscles. I feel like I am standing straighter, and I just feel great. Will definitely return. Oh, my. I have never had a better massage than the 90-minute one I had from Priska! The room was wonderful, with aromatherapy oils that I got to select. Music was soothing and not too loud. Heated table, soft blanket, and very comfy face cradle and bolsters. Priska started off by asking me how I was feeling, what kind of massage I preferred, pressure (firm for neck and shoulders), what kind of work I do (sit at a computer all day), do I do any stretching, etc. The massage was sooooo relaxing that I fell asleep!!! I never fall asleep--even with the deep pressure at my shoulders, she managed to do so in such a relaxing way! She sent me away with a yummy salted caramel and suggested that I drink lots of water today and take a hot bath with some Epsom salts. Best massage so far, wonderful service. Thank you!! tl;dr: The Salt Studio is an amazing place that will heal your body and your heart. Also, buy a membership! It just might change your life. The Salt Studio is a hidden treasure in the corner of a strip mall in NE Pasadena (conveniently close to the freeway). The space is simple and calming, the online appointment system is easy to use, and the products they carry in the store (some of which they make) are fantastic. I've used the salt room several times and can absolutely vouch for the difference in my respiratory system before and after treatment. But the real gems here are the people. Diana, Pilar, and Kathleen are expert therapists, to be sure. More importantly, they fuse a passion for healing with their technical skills, treating body and heart with equal care. Their sensitivity to their clients' bodies and states of mind is truly remarkable. When you leave, you feel light and free and full of joy regardless of how broken you felt when you came in. I should mention that I am extremely picky about massage therapists and spent several years looking for someone I liked before finding Diana. When she opened The Salt Studio, I wanted to be supportive of her new business by purchasing a spa membership to receive a massage every month. My "support of her business" turned out to be much more valuable to me than it is to her, as each month her healing touch peels away a new layer of stress and anxiety to reveal the love below. I am so excited about finding the Salt Studio! I decided last night to treat myself to a much needed massage for my birthday today. I found this place on Yelp (thanks Yelpers!) and as someone who has struggled with asthma my whole life, I was intrigued. I called early this morning and they were able to accommodate me on short notice. I did the salt room treatment first. Since it was a weekday mid-morning, I was the only one there. It was very relaxing and even though I brought a book, I was content to just sort of veg out and let my mind wander. I felt that the treatment did help my breathing a small bit, but understand that you probably need to do this on a regular basis to see a significant difference. I also splurged on a salt scrub and one hour massage. Melissa was my massage therapist. She really knew what she was doing! She hit just the right balance of being friendly and engaging without being too chatty (which doesn't work when you're trying to relax during a massage.) She made sure she was checking in with me about her pressure and adjusted beautifully for the different spots where I had tension. I have to say that this was probably the best massage I've ever had - and I've had my fair share. The pricing was fair for what you get - and they offer a decent array of pricing packages and specials. I will definitely be back! read more

The one star for the really sweet therapist who did my facial and another star for the relaxing ambiance of this place. I was really excited to try this place since it is very close to home and the reviews are pretty stellar. The first time I came in, it was for a salt scrub which was fine. The second time I visited was for a facial that a friend had given me a gift certificate for. So I go in, mention it's a gift certificate booking, get the facial and come to the counter to close out. The person at the front desk (who may be the owner) then says oh, you actually owe $$ because the gift certificate had the wrong service written on it. This gift certificate was exactly what it was - a gift. So I had no clue what options there were or if I could even take their word for it. I had to call the gift giver and ask if what the company wrote on the gift certificate was wrong. She wasn't sure since there are several options and it was purchased awhile ago. Sure enough, the person at the front desk said that the person working there who booked it had written the wrong service and that she would "talk" to her. She even handed me a printout of the transaction w/ CC info. At that point, I was just in a very awkward position and wanted to get out of there. I just paid the extra $$ that I didn't expect to pay and left. I feel like the person or the company could have handled the situation a little better since it was their employee who messed up and wrote a more expensive service on a gift cert! It didn't make me feel like she even cared at all. Instead, she just said nope, the service is wrong and you owe X amount. I thought wow, what if I had no CC or cash on me since I expected to pay nothing but a tip. So bummed and will likely not be returning to this establishment. I booked an acupressure cupping session with Sarah because I really needed to treat my reoccurring back pain from a car accident that I had many years ago. Cupping was the only way to take away my pain. I'm really glad to have found this place. Sarah is very knowledgeable about cupping. She knows exactly where the tension is and she knows where to place and move the cups on my back. Ever since I had my cupping sessions at the Salt Studio, I noticed a gradual improvement on my back. Had a reiki massage today and WOW!! My first reiki massage. Felt amazing afterwards. I do meditate with crystals and incense but I needed a little help balancing my chakras. Diana was amazing. I went for mothers day and enjoyed the salt room for 45 min, then had a salt scrub, and massage. It was pure relaxation!! I felt so good after I left. The prices are so reasonable for a beautiful spa and great massage. The massage includes aromatherapy and the use of an infrared amethyst mat. Both of which would be extra charges at any other spa. The staff really makes you feel special and cares about your health and relaxation. This is my new number one spa of choice! I really loved the Dead Sea Mud treatment and massage by Pilar. It was my first time here and found it to be a very welcoming and calming experience. Yesterday my husband, 8 year old son & I experienced our first Salt Therapy session at The Salt Studio in Pasadena. It was amazing!! We sat quietly in comfy chairs for 45 minutes breathing in the salt enriched air. The room was dimly lit & spa-like. It was the best "family time" we've had in a long time. No distractions, no screens - just us alone together. I'd highly recommend it just for that reason alone.
