Cold beer, great food, great people! They have outdoor and indoor spaces. Fresh shrimp any way you want them!

I was told it would be about 25 minutes, which was perfectly fine because my pickup was taking around 40 minutes anyway. When I walked into the restaurant, I wasn't acknowledged by anyone. I stood there for a long time and had to ask multiple employees about my order because nobody seemed interested in helping me. The owner/manager never once spoke to me or asked what I needed. After waiting another 20 minutes, the cashier finally came over so I could pay for my food. Then I had to wait another 30 minutes before the food finally came out. After all that waiting, the fish tacos were cold. I asked for a refund, and unfortunately that became another ordeal. The owner didn't know how to process the refund through the register, and after waiting yet another 25 minutes, I finally told them to just give me cash so I could leave. From start to finish, this experience was a complete mess. Poor communication, no sense of urgency, no customer service, and cold food after an extremely long wait. I understand restaurants get busy, but completely ignoring customers and serving cold food after well over an hour is unacceptable. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I can't recommend this place based on my experience.

Chef Jerome is a piece of SE Georgia history and makes some fantastic food. From the moment we pulled up to the restaurant, Chef Jerome came out and greeted us with hugs and assurances that he was going to take good care of us. The building is eclectic, quirky, rustic, and several more adjectives - but never off-putting. It is comfortable.... When you walk in, you really get a feel for the history of this place - particularly from the tens of thousands of photos that decorate the walls (virtually all of them) throughout the restaurant. There are pictures of locals, travelers and even several celebrities that have feasted at the Diner. Ben Afflect's picture is featured all over the restaurant as he frequents this place whenever he is in town (he even has his own autographed chair hanging on the wall). We were seated in the VIP room and presented with a menu with several good southern dishes from deviled crab, oysters, scallops and of course shrimp to ribs, porkchops, steaks and burgers. They are known for their Wheelchair Platter - which serves 2, 3, or 4 people. This is a collection of things that the Chef has selected for you including fried shrimp, fish, hushpuppies, pork chops, Mac 'n cheese, and other treats. Comes with slaw and potato salad (both fantastic), We ordered the platter for 2 - and it did not disappoint. We also got the sweetpotato logs with a cinnamon dipping sauce (wow!). First - those were some of the best hushpuppies I've ever eaten. Crispy on the outside but fluffy with bits of corn on the inside. yum. Everything else was cooked to perfection. Once we had eaten, Chef Jerome came out and took some pictures (for the wall of course) and had us promising (truthfully) to return soon. This place is a little out of the way. It's down a dirt road and looks a little rustic - but you will be very pleasantly surprised once you go in and let Chef Jerome take care of you. A Definite recommendation! Don't miss this treasure!

When we arrived, we were asked if we were OK if the service was a bit slow that night. Since we drove a bit out of the way from Brunswick we were not leaving, but it gave us extra quality family time with the daughter who was visiting. After ordering the wife and daughter went outside to take in the view of the water and look around. Maybe we were just having a great time, or were prepared to wait forever, but once the food came out, we all agreed it wasn't as long as we thought it would be. I ordered the whole fired flounder platter with Oysters,h ush puppies and fried Okra. Everything was perfectly cooked. And as you can see from the pictures I provide the flounder itself was stunning. I also ordered onion rings which were fresh, large and incredible. The Daughter ordered the Founder dinner, and again, just a absolute beautiful cooked piece of fish. The wife order the Grouper Plate, which was probably the least favorite dish of the 3 as she got it blackened, and it was not as well prepared as the other dishes. Overall a very successful dinner night out

The food was served fresh, they took their time to make it right, and I would call it above average as far as hole in the wall seafood places go. Our waitress Marie was not to be messed with and she knew what to do and went to do it. The guys playing live music were actually very good but of course it was way too loud for such a small room. They would have done a lot better with me had they just played their acoustic guitars without any amplification. this could be said of any Seaside restaurant though. We did have to talk at full volume to hear each other at a small table all the way across the room from the band. There is pretty much zero parking anywhere so you will probably have to park somewhere and walk to this place but it was a very enjoyable dinner with big portions of fresh seafood and it really hit the spot. The service was good, as well. Plus, it's pretty much the only place around to get any kind of seafood. We will be going back and I would recommend this place for visitors.

After an hour and 20 minutes, our food never came, she had never come back out to the deck to check on any of the tables, and our drinks were empty. We decided to leave. When we went to the register to pay for our drinks and leave, she threw her pen, said they only had 2 people working and 1 cook, and said we don't have a problem with locals here insinuating that we were the problem.
