I laughed as we just got back from looking at a vehicle in queensborouh landing and we were both stone cold sober. We told the waiter but he refused to serve us. I believe the waiter was being a judgemental, pompous ass and discrimating to my partner. I will not be returning or recommending this establishment. I understand it is a pub but it was hard to hear the people sitting next to me with the music blaring. I would come back again because the food was good and it is free on your birthday. NOT SO HAPPY HAPPY HOUR…read more We popped into the Wolf and Hound Irish Pub, which boasts on its website that it's "a good place to hide from the yogis" (not the smartest way to endear itself to this particular neighbourhood!) for some mid-afternoon scran. Between the two of us we ordered deep-fried pickles, poutine, "slow-roasted Angus beef yorkies with crisp onions and au jus", a side of fries and one soft drink. For $8, we got 4 slices of dill pickle (likely one pickle in total) breaded and deep-fried with ranch dip. This was the most successful item because it seemed to be freshly made and hot. At $2 a piece it was wildly overpriced. The mini poutine ($7) was disappointing. The chips were okay, but the cheese was clearly not the required "squeakers", more likely plain old mozzarella, and the gravy was oddly flavoured and unsatisfying. Half of it was left in the bowl uneaten. The so-called yorkies ($9) with so-called slow-roasted Angus beef were a joke. Straight out of the freezer via the microwave without a doubt. The two tiny yorkies were flat and tough. If they'd ever had the famous yorkie puff and lightness it was long gone. The beef was tough and lifeless. And the "au jus" - extremely salty and my guess is it was, not long ago, a powder in a packet to which hot water was added before arriving at our table in a tiny pitcher. I would honestly be embarrassed to serve that dish to anyone. The side chips ($4) were adequate. They arrived hot, at least. One soft drink ($3.25) was served in a glass with a few small ice cubes. It was not cold. At least we didn't get a can plopped down in front of us like at many places. Service: he took our order and he delivered it to our table. No inquiry how everything was, no "Would you like anything else?" No "How was everything?" when we paid. (We gave up waiting for a bill at the table and went to the bar to pay.) He seemed to be the only server in the place and there were several people at the bar, so perhaps they kept him busy. The white rice complimented the meal and the curry sauce was spicy and hot and completed this meal. All ingredients taste fresh, and flavorful. There is enough to have a little meal the next day. But after reading some reviews I followed a small side path that led to the back of the building to which there was a door bell that said Emerald dragon on it. You can ordee via Uber eats or door dash. Doing pickup had no additional fees luckily (except taxes of course). I wish you could also call in to order. There was a phone number on the order app ( I used Door dash) but when I called to find out how to find them , the number was not in service. After ringing the doorbell, a worker came out to confirm who the order was for ( there were a few people standing around) and then after maybe 6 to 8 min ( after the app said my order was ready) , I was given the goods. There is not much proper Parker as many of the spots were for a different shop , so if you picked up by foot or came with someone that you could hop out and in of the car, that worked best. We got the munch of course as I had seen it on social media and looked like a good variety. It came withba large bag of prawn crackers and choice or a 6 -8 oz container or sweet and sour sauce or curry sauce. I think the more authentic way is to get the curry sauce but I love a good sweet and sour for my fries and fried chicken items! With no store front and we were quite far from home , we opted to eat in the car to taste it hot and fresh. It smelled so good. Unfortunately there was no napkins or utensils even though I requested it. Napkins were a no biggie but there is half the box lined with fried rice which we couldn't really eat. The star of thw show was the 'Irish spice bag' seasoned fries. Standard Costco type fries mixed with a spicy , garlicky seasoning and it was soo good !! It filled the other half od the box and even though I was full , I could eat a but of it anytime. I even tried the fries cold thw next day and they still tasted good- that was the true test.
