We went for brunch and the service was quick and the food and drinks were amazing. We started with a sangria flight and some guava and cheese empanadas. The cranberry and mango sangria was our favorite. The empanadas were really good with just the right amount of guava and cheese. For mains we went with the French toast and the chorizo scramble. Both were really good. Overall we're very impressed and plan to come back. read more

Good atmosphere but very limited space. It got very crowded for Karaoke night Friday after 9-10pm. It was fun! Because of crowds, it was pretty hard to order drinks, and couldn't even imagine to order food. But it was fine, this place is more for fun/party than food/drinks. I see a lot of reviews claiming the service is bad here, so I had to put in my two cents. LOOK. We came in with a party of 16 on a Sunday for brunch. The service was slow, yes, but the young lady taking our orders was very nice! On top of that, I could see she was waiting tables, taking care of bar guests and making all of the drinks. Our food was taking a long time, as well. By the time I went to ask for the check to be separated a specific way, I casually said "a little short handed today?", to which the response I got baffled me! ONLY TWO EMPLOYEES SHOWED UP FOR WORK! One girl was out front serving and making drinks and running food, and the other young lady was in the back prepping and making ALL of the food, from scratch, it tasted like! Our party of 16 ordered BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH. We all felt so bad! We had no idea! Jennifer said they were going to close that day, but they knew they had a large party for a birthday celebration, so they had to open for us! To me, that is amazing customer service. Had they told us there were only two of them, we could have ordered regular entrees instead of the dang bottomless brunch! Somehow they stayed lovely and positive the entire time! We were very patient with them (i think), because we weren't in a hurry. We didn't have any complaints (besides the time, but we didn't say anything to them) and all of the food was delicious! We stopped by The Sangria Bowl on the way back home from the Blue Ridge Area. The restaurant itself is accessed trough an old movie theater and has a small indoor and outdoor eating area. We are outside on a pretty warm day for October and enjoyed the space. We ordered The Chile con Queso dip to start with a Sangria Flight followed by some Street Tacos. The Chile con Queso had good flavor with some kick and the Plantain chips were different than what we were used to but good. Out of the Sangria flight all had good flavor as well and were refreshing but our favorites were Just Peachy and Lavender Lemonade. Both of the Tacos were delicious and there were actually two tortilla per taco which held them together well. We had an overall good experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for some Latin food in Culpeper. read more

I was excited when I walked up the steps to the sangria bowl, which is on the second floor of the old state theater, to see the swanky 20s wallpaper and gorgeous teal sofa in the waiting area at the top of the stairs. But then I realized this wasn't the restaurant and then had to walk into this room painted black with generic tables and chairs and absolutely no charm that I was so disappointed. The appetizers were good. I recommend the elote bites. However, they were out of two of their sangrias for the flights which was also very disappointing and for a business highlighting sangria I feel like they shouldn't be out of any. It was an ok visit. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon when it was not very busy. We tried a flight of Sangria and they were all good. Our favorite was Lavender Lemonade followed by Just Peachy. For the appetizer, we tried the plantain nachos. The plantains seemed like they were from a bag but nevertheless tasted good. The food came out so fast that made it feel like it was just warm and serve. They only have a few tables in their rooftop deck area, so it's best to make a reservation ahead of time. Their historic location makes for an interesting setting. Parking is across the street in a small parking lot. Double check parking signs for pay-to-park days/times. read more

This is a roof top bar that has great views of the mountains and we watched the sunset on a beautiful spring day. We got 2 sangria flights with 8 different types of sangrias. All of them were really good. Definitely try the bruschetta it was amazing and the beef empanadas were really good too with the dipping sauce. This is a hidden gem. read more

We stopped in on a cold Friday night to meet our daughter for dinner and enjoy a nice meal out. This was my first visit and my wife and daughter's second trip. When we arrived there were 2 couples occupying 2 tables and only one staff person covering all of the front of the house positions and we still had to wait to be seated. It was in the 20's outside and the dining area was around 65 degrees. I can typically manage a chilly room but this was downright cold and it never got better as the dining room filled up. We ordered empanadas for appetizers and a variety of tacos for our main courses. My beef empanada was crispy on the outside and meaty inside. My wife's pizza empanada was less appetizing. She described it as closer to a stale hot pocket. The tacos were tasty but got cold quickly. We had talked about staying to listen to the live music but decided against it when we could no longer feel our noses or fingertips. I appreciate the decor and the vibe of the restaurant and the attempt and a little more upscale street tacos but the mediocre service and poor environmental conditions are a No for me in the future. read more

It's our first time in Culpeper, and this spot was recommended by a friend. Since it was a Saturday night, we called on our way to see if there would be a wait. At first, no one answered, but then someone called back to the number they'd missed! We were so impressed that we decided to go, even though only inside seating was available. By the time we got there, though, an outside table had opened, and we sat in comfortable chairs on the little deck. Our order was quickly taken and sangria flights arrived swiftly. Though food took a bit longer (they're short staffed), we never felt unattended. And the food was worth the (brief) wait! We had delicious plates, and our daughter loved her popcorn shrimp (that was actually shrimp--not all breading!). Our server even took the time to make her a special drink once she described what she liked. We can't wait to come back! read more

Stopped by the Sangria Bowl for a quick lunch after church. I had never been before and I am always eager to try something new. The location is in the old State Theater building upstairs. It has a very small dining area with an outdoor patio overlooking Main Street. The dining room was very quaint and comfortable but could do with so window dressings as the sunlight reflecting off the white roof next door was blinding! It was so bright I was sqinting the whole time. It was seat yourself which is always nice. Disappointed that they did not offer a hard menu, only online via your phone. See above regarding squinting. They offer a "bottomless brunch" which consists of the entire appetizer menu and a single "entree" plus $2.00 Mimosas, which seems like they would rather keep a secret. The server never suggested it and did not tell you that the "bottomless" aspect was as many appetizers as you wanted in a two hour sitting. The server overall was not enthusiastic and was not helpful with regards to menu selections. Probably because their menu was really not that great. Cold bottled water on the table was a nice touch. But it was tap water. Our first mistake was coming to a Sangria place for food. We were not there to drink but, after being there you could see that this is really just a sangria hut trying to be a Tappas place. We settled on the Chicken and Waffles for my wife and the Mallorca sandwich for me. The Chicken and Waffles were just sad. A small 6" X 8" waffle segmentd into quadrants, each quadrant topped with a chicken nugget. No sides just what you see pictured below. Very disappointing! The Mallorca sandwich was equally disappointing. The bread was not cooked through, filling you mouth with ham egg and dough, with each bite. I would not be exaggerating if I told you, that you would get a better meal at the Golden arches! Bottom line, if you want to drink Sangria for $50 a pitcher, this your place. But if you are looking for lunch I would skip this place all together. read more

Tacos were tasty at a great price. We went for Trivia Night. There was no real format for the game. 48 questions, or in this case songs. Each song played through its entirety. What a nice place to dine. My wife and I stopped in for some small bites and a glass of wine, We had the Empanadas (Beef,and Pizza) as well as the Maduros. The best Maduros I have had. you you go try them. The Empanadas are also very good. I prefer the beef. The service is very good and the wine was just right. Cute space has so much potential, but the thick black curtains make it feel like you're in a toaster oven. Every time I come here I swear to god the service gets worse. I understand the service industry and restaurants are hurting... but good god. You have live music. Open your patio doors so the interior can listen, too. You pay no attention to the customers inside. Do better, hire more people, rebrand. I really want to like this place. I'm giving two stars because the food is AMAZING, but I have never had good service and it seems to get worse. The last time I went (less than a week ago) I walked in and NO ONE who works there was to be found. Unfortunately, this is typical, so we sat ourselves. After around 5 minutes the server came and told us we needed to move to "that table there" and pointed us to a table shoved in a corner.
