This place was great! I loved the atmosphere, the food, and the staff. I parked in back and walked in the back door. Luckily I sat with the most incredible server ever. She was seriously amazing. Super attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Oh, and literally the most gorgeous girl in Ohio. She suggested I trie the small ribeye (small is 16oz). So I did and holy crap folks. The steak was INCREDIBLE. Super tender and flavorful. It was expensive for lunch but man, I won't be able to order anything else if I get back up there. The place was clean but super dark. Cheeseball wasn't bad but def salty, The Barbecue sandwich was good overall, our waiter seemed a bit "off" or confused... also almost seemed like he was rushing us. The baked beans are good but you don't get enough to justify them as a "side"... like 3 regular tablespoons of beans is about all you get. $1.50 or $2 on the side and def not worth it to waste on your meal. Peanut Butter pie was about the smallest piece of pie I've EVER received. It was alright but didn't have a lot of Peanut Butter flavor honestly. Overall I'd give this place a D+\C- grade... We visited the area with a group of friends to go to the ribber and Shawnee state park. Upon arriving the place was packed and with a long line waiting outside. To me that was a good sign. Everyone we talked to said the steak was amazing and indeed it was. My wife and I split the large order steak which actually comes as two pretty good sized ribeyes. The steaks were juicy, hot, and cooked to perfection which we prefer medium rare. The sides however were small in portion. We got the ribber frys which wasn't a lot but were good however, we also got the German slaw and that was pretty good and appropriately portioned. Service was pretty fast once we were seated despite how busy they were. Would visit again if in the area. I would say it appeared to be one of the best options in the area so if youre near check it out. read more

All I heard about this place was hype. You walk in and are seated, standard practice. However the restaurant itself is very dark. Thankfully, we were put in the sunroom section. Our server was very short and unfriendly, and couldn't really recommend much. Don't waste your money on the sampler plate, it's all fried and comes out of bags. They will throw it on your table and walk away briskly. My husband and I split a steak, and it was the only redeeming quality of the entire meal. They bring everything out on nursing home plates, and you get steak knives that were probably repurposed from a nursing home. Their sides come prepackaged in plastic cups, so if you avoid BPA please don't order a side. The kids seemed to like their barbecue sandwiches, which was nice. They come with a bag of Lays chips, nothing special. I just don't think this place is worth the money, or lives up to the hype that I have heard. The service was subpar, the atmosphere was just so so, the attention to detail was nonexistent, and if the only good thing on your menu is a steak, then are you even worth it as a restaurant? read more

Wood fired grills set the stage for some really nice steaks. My party had both ribeye and the strip and both were well regarded. The beer choices were limited and vegetarian options were not great. We arrived at 1:30 on Wednesday and they were moderately busy, but were quickly seated. Our waiter said he would be right with us, but another waitress ended up getting our drinks. My wife ordered the small ribeye and I ordered the large ribeye even knowing I would have no chance of finishing it. She ordered hers rare( yuck) and I really like mine medium well, but was advised to order mine medium. Based on the size of the steaks I knew it would be about 20 minutes plus before we got our order. I got up to use the restroom and when I got back our meals were just being served. Now that was lonely about 5-7 minutes. So I cut into my steak and it is so rare not to mention he only ordered the small not the large. He brought it back to be cooked more and 5 minutes later it was barely medium. He asked it I wanted to send it back again and I said no as my wife was now half done with her own meal. So I started cutting up the ribeye and as you can see half the $34 steak was noting but fat. At this point I was done. The waiter was apologetic and the supervisor did apologize and take that off the bill. She even gave us a gift card to come back when we can. Visited Portsmouth for work with co-workers, we went to Ribbers based on yelp reviews and recommendation from the hotel staff at the holiday inn. Great food, huge steaks and pork ribs the size of pork chops. Nice spice range on ribs. Pork ribs were not "fall apart" but still good. Wine good and CHEAP. Very good steak and ribs. Very busy so plan ahead to get there on off hours or have plenty of time for a table.

The ribeye was delicious. Tender, tasty and cooked perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning. The service was good.

Wow! One of the best steaks I have eaten. Anywhere. If there is a wait to eat here, believe me it's worth every minute.
