Everything here is fresh and so delicious often a line but well worth the wait. Cute tables to enjoy your scones and pasties outside. The crumb cake is a huge portion and comes with or without a delicate glaze. A thick layer of cinnamon crumbs adorn this light cake base. Very rich and buttery. The scones are all delicious with just the right consistency. Moist and flavorful we had the cinnamon which came with tiny cinnamon chips and the blueberry lemon which had a great lemony flavor along with sweet blueberries. Stop in for a real treat. read more

A cute little place right by the ocean. Everything is fresh and hot! I've never found a place that specializes in scones and thought it was so neat. My favorite item was a blueberry cheesecake slice of cake. While I was in town for a wedding and I'm not sure I'll ever get to go back, I would go out of my way to visit again if ever in the North Jersey Shore area again. read more

The Scone Pony in Spring Lake has a cute ambiance and even better scones. The Scone Pony is more of a grab and go location for fresh baked pastries like scones, cookies, and muffins. I purchased five scones and each one was better than the last. Some of the flavors we tried were: blueberry, chocolate chip, cinnamon chip, vanilla bean, and funfetti. My personal favorites were the chocolate chip and funfetti; and my husband loved the blueberry. The service is always friendly and they do take call ahead orders. My only complaint is that they are closed Monday - Wednesday. Tucked away on a side street in Spring Lake's downtown district, this charming bakery is a must visit. The ambience is chic, with some limited outdoor seating. Service was friendly. I'm not a big sweets fan but my weakness is a great bisquit or scone. These are the best scones I've ever had. I live in Bergen county but any time I'm in Spring Lake, I buy a bunch and share them with my neighbors. My favs are lemon blueberry and cinnamon. Truly the best scone I have ever had. I came to the shore on a Sunday and stopped here. I had a mimosa scone. It so so orange-y yet light. I also picked up a cupcake and that was tasty but the scone was the star. They were closed M-W but luckily I was able to stop on my way back in Thursday and get another mimosa scone and some other flavors to try. I'm very sad I didn't get buy a scone every day. My only wish was that they had merch! I didn't see any but would be happy to wear a Scone Pony hoodie or carry a insulated cup with their name and logo. read more

Heard about this place from a friend and had to try. I have never heard of a place specializing in scones but that's what it is. What a cool place and you can see all the action happening right there in front of you. They are making scones fresh and they keep coming out of the oven as you order. Get whatever is the most fresh out of the oven. The blueberry scones were my jam. The chocolate chip scones weren't bad. I did find some of the scones kind of dry but maybe they were out too long. I would skip the cookies. Anyway, they also do baguettes. Cool place and downtown Spring lake is a cool place to stroll as well. Check it out! read more

Reeeeally buttery soft moist but but not soggy, sweet but not overbearing, crumbly but not dry scones. We had an assortment of three across the fruity vs. normal scones, and each one was a total hit with our family. They're definitely heavy though, so plan to leave a lot of room post-meal or substitute breakfast with one of their scones. They're really good about limiting the number of people in the store at a time for COVID control, but the outdoor area right outside gets crowded because for some reason they do take a while to get your order out to everyone -- which I dunno, I thought they're baked in bulk each morning and ready, so why the delay? Either way, I was a skeptic because how good could a shore bakery really be vs. touristy, but this one is ACTUALLY so good! read more

The crumb cake they serve here is so amazing! I come to this place every time I have a big group of friends/family that come to my house. I always pick up goodies here and am never dissapointed with the end result. Although, one disclaimer: You must get to the shop early if you want certain scones.. This place will have items sold out after just 2/3 hours of being open! read more

Cherry turnover. Delicious and worth the 20 minute wait. I got there at 740 Saturday morning and there were 10 people ahead of me. Wild to hear the totals of people before me , does someone actually think it is average to spend 40, 50, 60 at a bakery getting bags of scones? Rich folk problems I guess!! Anyway the turnover was absolutely the best I ever ate. read more

During my first visit, they had a pop up from Mirah's Sweet Shoppe. During my second visit, there was a pop up from J. Bakes. Out the gate, I love that they give other local small businesses an opportunity to shine and generate revenue. If you follow The Baker's Grove on social media, you see that they post pictures of these beautiful pastries and pastry cakes weekly. If that's not enough to get you in your car and over to their bakery, I don't know what is. Not only are the pastries beautiful, they are delicious! They make a coconut cream doughnut that I am currently addicted to. Their key lime tart is delicious. One thing I will say is that if you get anything chocolate of theirs, make sure you're a true chocolate lover. I got a slice of the s'mores tart for myself and a slice of chocolate cake for my mom and one thing we agreed on is that both treats were very, very rich. On top of all this deliciousness, the service is usually friendly and efficient. Even with a line, they get you in and out swiftly. There's not much room to dine in, but it's definitely worth a stop by.
