Went in for happy hour. Great prices, and bang for buck. Wasn't crowded, bartender was nice, goes down good with a ultra pint. Food was good, the chef did outstanding.

Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich with Works $11.99.
    Mark B.

This is a local neighborhood speak-easy that serves up a menu that offers something for everyone. It's a sports bar with emphasis on "bar" serving up all your favorites. The service is quick, friendly and accommodating. I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich with "The Works" $11.99. A generous portion of thin-sliced rib-eye steak with sauteed onions, house seasoning, and provolone cheese. Served on our fresh baked Philly roll. Comes with sauteed mushrooms, cherry peppers, and pepperoncini. Comes with choice of side. Every thing was fresh and tasty. If you're ever in Imperial Beach you'll want to check them out.

Came to watch the Dodger game, the service was great, very welcoming and food was good. Wish we would played the music bingo but was watching the Dodger game couldn't multitask!! Everyone was having fun.

No one cares here. I went to get takeout and no masks anywhere. Bar seats all side by side and bartender drunk. Its a speak easy.

And, only then will I entertain a night out unless I'm with the right group of people. I've been to this bar several times now and it's been nothing but good old fashion fun. You can be yourself and no one bothers you. It's not crazy crowded, at least when I've been there during the weekdays. I can actually find a seat at the bar or just lounge in the back area on a couch. There are also tables and chairs to choose from. There has been a DJ, live band, karaoke or just plain music jammin. The highlight for me: the bar tenders ! They were attentive and friendly. Shout out to Justin and I forgot young looking female bartender's name. Shout out to her too This bar may not be as lit and inviting looking from the outside, don't judge. Step inside, give it a try Oh and see how many frogs you can find around the bar ...I counted about 15 plus.

I mean, people totally still watch sports here of course and so do I, but what I mean is the space is bright and expansive, the location is lovely, and the monitors are ginormous. More importantly, the food and drinks are at least somewhat interesting. Not even sure if I've had hard kombucha before. I probably have, but I don't remember. These are largely light, sour, and fruity, which are the sort of alcohol I've been addicted to lately anyways. And they have cool fruits like dragonfruit and lychee. The bowls and fruit salad were what originally caught my eye. I was not feeling a berry salad, so I got a carne asada bowl, and it was delicious. The steak was soft and peppery, and the ratio of ingredients was well balanced. The hummus, kale, and salsas made for a fun Mediterranean flavor, and the basmati rice was fluffy and consistent. It's sad, but it's hard to find an Asian restaurant in town that makes a rice bowl this good.

Affordable and nice, family-friendly breakfast next to the beach…read more Stopped by to have breakfast with my family of five, including 2 adults and 3 kids who eat like adults. There is parking on-site and on the street. You can enter the parking lot either through Sea Coast Drive or Imperial Beach Boulevard. We arrived at 9:30am on a Saturday and found plenty of open parking. Upon walking in, we were greeted by a friendly staff member and seated ourselves in the patio area. A server came over right away, took our drink order, and brought us menus. She refilled our drinks before they were empty and brought us boxes once she saw we were done. She was attentive and anticipated our needs. She was always friendly whenever she stopped by our table. My Denver omelet came with home fries and toast, for a small fee I substituted the toast for pancakes. The cheese on my Denver omelet was burned. I prefer the cheese to be melted and stretchy, as it adds flavor and texture to the omelet. The burned cheese took away from the overall flavor of the omelet. The home fries are always delicious - slightly crispy, well-seasoned, with sautéed bell peppers topped with queso fresco. The pancake was dry and didn't have much flavor. I've been here many times before, and the pancakes are always delicious. The breakfast sandwich was okay. The tomato was a bit overwhelming and made the sandwich slightly soggy. The breakfast burger was tasty and made just as ordered. The mini chocolate chip pancakes were really good, definitely on the sweet side. The portions are big and you will definitely have leftovers. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Both areas have many TVs showing different sporting events, making it a great place to watch a Padres game. Next time you are in Imperial Beach check this spot out, I will be back soon.

So, my first visit was a cool experience with a few laid back people watching the game. After I left, I decided I would come back again to watch a game sometime. Currently, I visited this place again a few Thursday's ago(I think it was Thanksgiving, lol) to pregame it before I headed to Diamond Jim's. Why? Because Diamond Jim's only accepts cash only and the CV Sports Bar is just a few blocks down and they do take cards. A $10 dollar minimum is not bad at all because I've been to other places where you have to have a $20 minimum. I ordered a pitcher of Fat Tire for $12, which I didn't mind paying at all because its a well reasonable price for the size of their pitcher. The two guy bartenders were OK. They just seamed they didn't give a shit about their customers. I don't expect them to go beyond customer service expectation but show some character and be more helpful, especially if its a small bar with less than twenty people. Surprisingly, there was quit a few good looking girls but most of them had company already. But, its nice to know there's pretty girls that go there, Right? No guy wants a sausage fest. It's a chill bar to pre-game it or go with a few friends and watch a game. Reading these reviews below mine, I will have to watch my next UFC match at CV Sports Bar to see if its cool.

For me, this is the default spot to watch UFC fights when I don't want to go downtown. In this capacity this place is awesome. Not a big selection of beers but what they do have is cheap. Service is somewhat lacking but I think its because they aren't used to the big crowds when a fight/event is going on. While food isn't on the menu, they do have a crock pot with melted cheese and chips to make nachos. They have the usual condiments (jalapeno's, onions) and sometimes chili. There is also a popcorn machine that they charge for (they don't charge for the nachos though???). There is a pool table that looks serviceable and a jukebox (they don't allow it during fights). They also have a stereo system that they can turn on if they want. Parking can be a hassle, as there is a really small lot behind the place. If you get there late you may have to park across the street. Credit Cards are accepted but have a $10 minimum in place.

For what we spent, I could've eaten at Der Wienerschnitzel for three days straight and probably been happier. I ordered the steak and shrimp. The steak was parakeet size , was loaded with fat, had absolutely no flavor, and was so chewy my jaw was considering filing a workers' comp claim. The side of potatoes? Tiny. Calling it a "side" was generous. Then came the onion rings... four little onion rings sitting in a giant takeout container like they were waiting for the rest of the family to arrive. Maybe they're rationing onion rings these days. The shrimp? More like microscopic shrimp. They smelled like they were caught off the Scripps Pier about five minutes before they hit my plate. The rest of the order didn't do any better. It was mediocre at best Needless to say, next time I'll save myself the disappointment and order from Black Angus instead. This meal was all hype, no flavor, and definitely not worth the money.
