We just stayed at the Sea Gate Delray Beach from May 4-6.We are a group of 11 woman who take an escape from our daily lives once a year. To make it short , it was one disappointment after another. We were very specific to the suite we required and were confirmed that it wouldn't be a problem. We waited three hours for the special suite for our Majong game and were switched to a suite half the size at the same price!! The doors of the bathrooms were removed!! The front desk staff upon our arrival was very rude!! We all traveled to the Sea gate from Miami and had no choice but to stay. I would definitely not rate this hotel 4 stars!! Two stars maybe.. After checkout every room received extra charges on their credit cards for hundreds of dollars for things they didn't charge!!! We are still waiting to hear back as to why these charges were applied??? I do NOT recommend this hotel... Rude, dishonest and not organized!!! read more

I am very disappointed with the customer service at the hotel. As a previous customer I would have expected better service. The hotel has changed its cancellation policy and I would have had to cancel by October 31 for a New Years reservation. They are definitely going to be able to rebook the room as I was shut out last year when I tried to book on the very busy New Years Eve. I asked for a credit to use since they denied my request for a refund and when I asked to speak to a manager after leaving two messages I was told it wouldn't be necessary since they weren't going to honor my request anyway. Very surprised at the lack of flexibility. It's a shame because its a nice place. read more

Hip, modern and clean-lined hotel in the heart of Delray Beach. A very boutique hotel, with solid, friendly service (including driving you in a Mercedes SUV to local restaurants or the beach). The rooms are quite large; ours had a pull out sofa area, a king bed, a small balcony, a shower and a jacuzzi tub. Everything was modern and cool, perfect for people who enjoy quality and luxury. The hotel itself has a great restaurant, a decent gym, a small but comfy pool, and a terrific spa. The big attraction is the beach club down the street - a relaxing bar, restaurant and pool - not to mention a beautiful beach. The kids loved the pool and beach, and we lunched outside under the umbrellas poolside. This is really the only "nice" place to stay in Delray. My only small issue was that the housekeepers failed to keep us stocked with shampoo and bath gel; but it was a small failure - the rest of the service was top notch. Definitely my choice in Delray. read more

This is a lovely hotel which for many "locals" is a great place for Happy Hour. Staff at the bar area are usually pleasant and courteous and on Friday nights there is a twosome that generally plays music which makes for a wonderful experience. But last night was so strange. We had arrived early to get a good table near the dance floor and band. After an hour, we were asked to move because the table was needed for a larger party. And we accommodated the request. Unfortunately, it felt that the band was only playing music for the bachelorette party, a total of 8 woman, who replaced us at the table. Many of us were there to dance a bit and found it impossible with the YMCA type of music, raunchy women and even kids who were allowed to go on the dance floor. A small dance floor was occupied by people who were jumping around. Was genuinely surprised that small kids were allowed on the dance floor that late. We won't be returning and will need to find a more 'mature' place to enjoy our drinking and dancing! read more

This is very clearly a business trying to put on a front. The prices are high however the food and staff are horrible. This is now the second time my girlfriends and I have received horrible service in this cafe. The young girl at the cash register was very sweet and polite, I believe her name was Maddy. However after my order was placed I went to the area to receive my coffee and came into contact with the most rude young lady I have ever met. Her name was Hasani, I stood in the area for about 5 minutes without being acknowledged. When I finally got tired of waiting without being asked if I had been helped. I stated to Hasani I was waiting on a coffee and a latte. She first spoke to me in a very condescending manner and asked me if I placed my order. I responded that I did and showed her my receipt, at this point she asked me what my order was exactly and i repeated it to her so she could make it. She made my latte wrong and when I addressed it with her she once again was very rude. She proceeded to give me very nasty looks and mutter things under her breath. When she put the coffee up she did not apologize for the wait or the improperly made coffee and instantly turned around and started cursing. I heard things such as F*** this Bi*** among her stating "who does she think she is". This will be the last time come to this cafe with anyone. Absolutely distasteful. -Marcy Sheppard read more

Me and my wife stayed here for our 36th anniversary. I try to give my wife nothing but the best when we go on big trips. i was disgusted by the service from the staff. The manager was very rude when we were checking in and our room was not even cleaned yet when we got to our room! How hard is it to promise a clean room from the previous guests to your new guests?! Ok, we came one night for anniversary (32 years) live only 30 minutes away so it was night out, dinner and early morning walk on beach with coffee. The room king suite very comfortable and our balcony face Atlantic Ave. The spa tub my wife could not quite figure out so I cannot say if it was not working correctly or the operator was have problems with the controls. LOL. The bath sink stopper/lift needed mending so I did a little plumbing repair which is no big deal but other than that the room was great. Little too much noise at about 3am guess some of the outdoor party animals were out and about. But that is normal. Had dinner at the Atlantic grille. The dinner was good not exceptional but I am difficult to start with so I will also give 4 stars. The atmosphere was good. Fish tanks interesting. Service was very complimentary. We have the hotel on our "will return list" and enjoyed the stay. read more

My husband and I stayed at the Seagate for business/pleasure over the weekend. I rarely write reviews but feel compelled to write a review due to the outstanding customer service in this hotel. The front desk, valet, and housekeeping staff all go above and beyond to help you with a genuinely positive attitude. We did not use the spa but went to the Beach Club and received excellent service there as well. The beach was private and clean/beautiful. The hotel is clean, rooms are spacious and there is a Keurig in the room (always a nice bonus) although we didn't use it b/c there is coffee in a cafe off the lobby that is so convenient. The lobby has a beautiful aquarium. The only downside were the aquariums outside of the Atlantic restaurant. They've crammed 4 electric eels (two new babies) into a tank. These are such territorial species that one of the baby eels had a 3 inch gash in it's side and looked terrified. It was such a bummer to see such beautiful creatures put on display in a bad environment. I mentioned something to the staff - it seemed like overkill on the eels and they were unhealthy and clearly unhappy as well. All in all a perfect little slice of Delray and worth staying there. You will be close to the beach and close to downtown Delray's shops and restaurants. read more

I stayed here with a friend in late March for a girls' getaway weekend. The rooms were great, with a large bathroom with separate glass shower and soaking tub. The room was nicely furnished with a great flat screen TV and a balcony with table and chairs. We visited the spa for a salt scrub and a massage and very much enjoyed the treatments. The one drawback is that the whirlpool is outside byt the pool and unisex, shared with all hotel guests, so it's not quiet. The hotel is located two easy blocks from the beach but there is also a private beach club with a complimentary shuttle. The beach club provides lounges, towels and umbrellas, which are covered by the $25/day resort fee. If you choose to stay within Delray Beach, you don't really need to rent a car, as you can take a taxi or black car for $55-60 from the West Palm Beach airport. The hotel has cars that will drop you off or pick you up within Delray Beach if you want to shop or experience the local restaurants. I would recommend staying here and would likely return. read more

Terrible experience. Housekeeping was terrible. Everyday something was wrong. No towels, no robes, the list goes on and on. When I complained they said I would get the VIP treatment. At $400. a night you should always get the "VIP" treatment. They also said I would get a credit and I never did. And, the "courtyard" room overlooked a gravel pit. The window was so small you could not even tell what the weather was like. I would not recommend this hotel at All. read more

This place gets it right- across the board- every time! From the decor to the amenities, and the customer service, food and service at their restaurants, and incredible wine list (not to mention very cool wine room at the Atlantic Grille, which is GREAT for intimate private events). The beach club is so chic and I love the service that is available when laying on the beach and I can get food and drinks delivered right to my beach chair! The rooms are clean and comfortable and the bathrooms (see: bathtubs/showers) are my absolute favorite!!!! This is one of my favorite places to vacation at and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life in Miami. The spa is a little piece of heaven on earth, and the tucked away pool right off the spa is very relaxed and comfortable. The staff is very much cut from the same cloth as what you expect from the Ritz/ Four Season school of hospitality. My family has been coming here since the 80's and the renovations/rebuild of the resort and beach club were so perfectly well executed and much needed. I love that it brings such class and adds a bit more of a fancy element to an otherwise very laid-back/low-key Delray beach/Downtown Delray. read more

We have been staying at Seagate at least once every winter since they opened. Love the location, atmosphere and feel. In the last couple of years have noticed that the rooms were still clean and inviting, were not kept as preteen as they used to be. The hotel pool was not clean nor inviting. Tall trees block the warm sun. Didn't like to hang there Gym is wonderful, with well kept equipment. Iced water, towels, and fresh apples. Club house on the beach is nice, for their high prices it should be flawless. Pool can get crowded on a nice sunny day. (no cell phone talks allowed at the pool..) We were planning on staying here again this winter. But will not put up with the complete insane increase in prices. Insanity since you have to pay for parking and spa etc.. many added hidden costs. The new Hayatt down the street will be our host this year. Though not on the beach, it is closer to the restaurants and shopping. Will review that after we go. read more

Help me find a place to stay in Del Ray Beach? this hotel is not it. Consistently bad room and housekeeping service. Beautiful rooms, and the Sea Gate private beach is adorable! If they could just get their service together. Great idea with the local shuttle, but not if they pick you up an hour and half late. Room service staff is not trained, and housekeeping is making sure they turn down with a fresh orchid, but then doesn't replace linens or take your dirty room service dishes, really? read more

This place is first class without the self-consciousness of a five-star resort. It's warm and stylish, with excellent amenities, good linens, etc, They have a super coffee/snack shop, really nice restaurant (with pretty rockin' entertainment) and good pool side food. Of course, so much comes down to the service. Chanlar at the pool Is a great treasure, and set the standard for everyone else. We needed some special attention and got it from Nicholas, and Roger(?) , who helped me into the pool each day and fied up the trolley because my electric wheelchair wouldn't fit on their standard shuttle. Went to spa with my daughter we enjoyed our time. Service was good. Went to check in and was told room wasn't ready. They took our number and said they would call. We went to the beach club had lunch and hung out on the beach. The call never came so we headed back to check in. The courtesy drivers and valet were great and super nice. Ate dinner at the Atlantic Grill food was terrible on top of the fact it was really expensive for bad food. Rooms are really big. They have a microwave and mini bar with drinks in it. Bring bottled water. Would think for the price you'd get 1 or 2 courtesy waters. Liked the toiletry products they use in the bathroom. For the price we paid would expect better service and food. The beach is about 1-2 blocks away and the courtesy car can take you to the properties beach club about 5-8 minutes away. The pool was really cloudy and didn't feel clean. Lots of restaurants near the hotel and you can have car take you with a 3 mike radius. You can also walk to the pharmacy or news stands to get snacks for kids since the cafe on site really only has drinks and sandwiches. In the rooms they do have snack options however I don't think ours had been replenished. Consisted only of dark chocolate and potato chips. Has a lot of potential but need to work on customer service at the desk and the food in order to be charging what they do. Just didn't get what I paid for bummer because we are local and love doing staycations at different hotels. read more

My parents stay here frequently when visiting the area. We've spent a lot of money on guest rooms, private events, dining, and in the shop - suffice it to say that we are loyal customers. However, there have been a number of service issues that have come up during that are continuously mishandled, or not handled at all actually. Our menu for a private event was missing items, something that for some reason could not be corrected onsite but was very clearly written on the Event Order. Instead of adjusting the bill as they should have, I had to ask that the hotel try to make amends by providing a discount the next time my Mom booked a guest room. Rather, they said they would do "something special." They did nothing. Additionally, my Mom is a frequent customer at the hotel retail shop adjacent to the lobby (I believe it's called Etc.). She bought an item for herself that I liked, and so she bought me one as well. The item is falling apart after one use - not the shop's fault, but also not ours. I reached out to the store owner Keri a number of times to try to talk through the issue and come up with a solution. She is supposedly at work every day, but has not returned my calls or voicemails. When my Mom went out of her way (we no longer stay at the hotel) to bring the items in and ask for a store credit perhaps, since we are frequent customers, it was a hard no with no interest in helping. I haven't booked an appointment at the spa, but they seemed very pleasant and responsive. read more

Truly a horrible experience. My mother and her best friend come to this hotel twice a year on vacation and have always loved it! This year they found that what was once a beautiful, clean, and beautiful hotel was in shambles. The staff was inconsiderate and down right rude. It's unfortunate to see such a staple in the Delray Beach community fall so low. I will never allow any future guests to stay here again. This Is a sweet getaway from PB or for that matter anywhere. Just what Delray needed! Jelly Bar was fun ...my favorite was the beach club for lunch. Hotel's decor is very special and has that island British west indies feel. The pool area was a bit small but was too hot so jumped on a trolley to the beach club :) we found a breeze! The gift shops are nice and found a great new bathing suit for my guy from island Company. Went to Seagate for a Girls Getaway and had the most amazing time. Alex and her staff made sure that our stay was special. The location was spot on- close enough to walk to Downtown Del Ray that is full of interesting shops, restaurants and galleries. Seagate's beach club is on a gorgeous stretch of the Atlantic with a lovely restaurant. The amenities were plentiful. The hotel's rooms were spacious and beautifully appointed. We were thrilled with our stay and hope to return. read more

We had such a great experience at The Seagate and we loved the rooms, the beach club and the location most of all. The hotel is close to the hot area of Delray, where restaurants and bars are filled with people and action. Yet, it's just far enough away so that you can head back to your room and enjoy the peacefulness after a night out. Also, it's right by the beach. They have a private beach club that is so nice, which always has a pool and restaurant on site. The rooms were beautiful, and the decor was light, fresh and soothing. We are excited for our next visit! read more

Beautiful spacious rooms, awesome location and most importantly great customer service. My only complaint is there is a $10 daily wifi fee PER A DEVICE (really!?!) . I will definitely return though maybe by the time I get back they will update their wifi policy. :) read more

The Seagate Hotel is not all it appears to be. Although it offers parking and a private beach with a pool, the fees for these amenities are hidden in the fine print. $20 per day for parking and a $30 daily resort fee can really add up. Of course they boast that the resort fee also includes local calls from the room (like we all don't have cell phones). And they also charge $10 per day for WiFi. Crazy stupid. The mattress was old and saggy and the television didn't work even after the guy "fixed" it. They charged for mini bar items that were not consumed and the chocolate that was opened was discolored and stale. The shower floor was slippery and there wasn't a mat or handrails. I telephoned the manager and left a message asking him to call me but he did not return my call. Maybe he will read this instead. read more

My husband bought me a gift certificate to the Spa at the Seagate Hotel. I recently had the pleasure of using it. I took advantage of the May special which included a manicure, pedicure & rain shower massage. Wow....It was a fantastic experience....from the front desk service to the treatments....everything was first class. Francey was my nail technician & she was the best! She did a great job. Probably the best manicure & pedicure I have ever received. After my nail treatment, I spent some time relaxing by the outdoor pool & had a drink that was offered as part of my package. The best part of the package was the rain shower massage. I have never had this treatment & I was a little apprehensive, but it was wonderful! I was in heaven for 80 minutes. I cannot say enough of my technician Audrey. She was wonderful. I would highly recommend her for any massage treatment. The Seagate Spa is very lucky to have these two very talented technicians on their staff. I will definitely return & I highly recommend the Seagate Spa. The service was superb -- from check-in to check-out. Terrific staff. read more

I just recently stayed at the Seagate Hotel & Spa for the weekend and NEVER wanted to leave. The staff was extremely accommodating and from the moment I arrived I was treated in a 5 star manner, from the front desk to room service to housekeeping everyone was fantastic. The hotel is gorgeous and I particularly enjoyed the numerous aquariums scattered throughout especially the jellyfish tank...The hotel is centrally located in beautiful downtown Delray Beach so it is conveniently located to all the shops, bars and restaurants, most within walking distance. My room was beautiful and it had every convenience I needed. My beautiful oversized bed was turned down every night with a fresh flower placed on my bed and in my bathroom. I was also fortunate enough to be able to book a massage while I was there so I got a chance to utilize the spa and it was FABULOUS as was my massage therapist. All in all I would recommend the Seagate Hotel & Spa to anyone. It was family friendly as well as suited for couple and singles. read more
