It was probably more like 4.5. They were very accommodating and got us right into our room which was very nice. The room was comfortable. The Shower good. We had been on a 5 hotel 10 night tour of the East Coast and it was the only hotel with a microwave. The pool and gym were okay. No snacks or water to be found after about 10 except at the hotel bar. Husband went to the hotel across the street to get bottled water and some chips. They have a great service with either a shuttle or private car to the Beach Club and up Atlantic to the hopping part of town. That is a very nice service. The cars are valet parked in a covered and monitored garage. I liked that since we had so many extra items in our car. All in all a great hotel. My only complaint might be that the beach club is was absolutely packed and no way we would get a chair or into the pool. We did however get a seat and had some lunch. I would recommend this hotel and will probably stay there again in the future. read more

Be VERY careful of windy days at the beach club as their metal umbrellas were flying through the air and hit multiple people on our stay (including me). Surprised management does not have a SAFETY measure in place above 15mph winds. Oh, and though I had to leave to go to Urgent Care (head injury) they still charged us for the drinks we never finished....interesting priorities. Otherwise a nice hotel though food service is hit and miss due partly to automatic 20% gratuity added to all bills. read more

This hotel needs a lot of work!!! We are here for our 37th anniversary and must say that this is a huge disappointment! Hotel is way overpriced and a 40 per day resort fee and we couldn't used the beach club due to a private event. Also 40 per day for valet parking. The rooms are old, dirty, and outdated!! Restaurant is so overpriced, my wife had a mai tai for 17.50. The shower and faucets have no pressure. The location is not great as it is a bit of a walk to the real action on Atlantic ave and the beach club is almost a mile away. When they got our car from the valet they left someone's BMW keys in my cup holder and the person couldn't use their car and they were desperate to find them. Refrigerator doesn't work, lamp shade are broken and crooked. Carpet in room is dirty and stained. We were so excited to come and now we are so disappointed. I don't know who they paid for the other reviews unless they are old ones? We will never come back again!!! What a giant ripoff! If it weren't for phony marketing, this place wouldn't exist in my opinion. read more

My husband and I stayed for only 1 night and it was amazing! I'm used to luxury hotels but this was great- the service was perfect when they redirected us to a better steakhouse than we had planned. They privately shuttled us in a Mercedes complimentary to the beach resort (not on location but two blocks away) and dinner. Orchids with turndown service and most amazing bathroom. If you want to pay big money to be treated like a POW, book this hotel. This hotel may appear to have a great list amenities and have the promise of being very accommodating but that's laughable. A paying guest has zero rights and is simply an inconvenience to most. I've travelled all over and have NEVER been treated so poorly. The new management is a joke, consistently placing new rules, daily; what worked for you yesterday won't today and brace yourself for the new rules tomorrow. The only consistency is inconsistency. 1 star simply due to the fact that the hotel itself is fairly nice. However, after a week long stay, my family and I are ready to get out of this place. Problems started the moment we walked in the door. Check in was a nightmare, EVEN WITH CONFIRMATION PAPERS IN OUR HANDS, WE DID NOT GET THE ROOMS WE RESERVED. (Apparently even though they are a hotel, they can't guarantee rooms, "Someone else might want what you have." And let me tell you, that motto carried through the entire week.) By the way, the mini fridge in the rooms are actually an old mini bar that they do not stock and does not work, it's only sitting there to appear as though you have a refrigerator. That was the tip of the iceberg, this review wouldn't end anytime soon if I continued. Some of the staff is incredibly friendly while others are equally as rude. I end this review wishing them all the luck of a newly hatched sea-turtle amidst a flock of seagulls. read more

Came here for a wedding. The wedding party was starting at that hotel and we even had a meet and greet in the suite one night. We had 40 plus in the suite. So, big room. The party had adjoining rooms, so all the doors were open and we had a pretty good time. This is a really upscale hotel that's about 2 blocks from the beach but they have a trolly that takes you to their private beach a few blocks away. From the time you drive up to the lobby entrance, you can feel and see the fanciness. Very nice lobby. Nice bellmen / valet guys. The short walk to the elevator was nice. You pass the people coming and going. Some of the displays, fish, art were all a nice touch. The hotel bar was also very well put together. Everything under the sun. Full service bar. Kinda romantic at night. Seating outside and in. Service was good inside and outside. The hotel itself was pretty big inside. The halls were long. A bunch of rooms on each floor and a few stories tall. In all, this is a great hotel for a stay of any length. Right on the main strip on Atlantic Ave. Many restaurants, stores and sights. I really recommend the Seagate. You won't be disappointed. read more

Spent 1 night at the hotel for our anniversary and everything was amazing. They service and the staff was fantastic. Everyone was helpful and accommodating. The room was large and spacious. Great amenities in the room such as bath salts and loofah for the deep soaking tub. We also liked the robe and slippers for two. The balcony is large and our room overlooked the pool. The pool area had a small bar where you could order drinks and food. The trolley was great. We used it to go out to dinner at night and you just call the hotel and the send the trolley back to pick you up. Definitely would love to come back since we didn't have time to experience the beach club. I have nothing but good things to say about this place!! read more

Nice suite but very expensive for what it was, we have stayed a other 5 star hotels for half the price in much bigger venues and bigger rooms. This place is nicely located near the beach. The gym is very god with nice equipment and the staff is very polite and helpful. The beach club they have is a great idea and although the food in the buffet was very lame , the price per person was very inexpensive. We stay there for New Years 2016. read more

My wife and I love this hotel! We arrived planning to stay one night as we passed through on our way further South and decided to stay for two. The rooms are big and comfortable with high tech lighting control and awesome showers. Staff was so nice, each and every one, from the moment we arrive through departure. Very nice hotel. Front desk staff pleasant and efficient. We had a king deluxe room which was spacious with pleasing decor. Valet service was always prompt. Room attendant service was superior - shout-out to Vance - with turn down in the evening. We appreciated having great housekeeping after a couple of years when most hotels discontinued it due to COVID. We enjoyed the beach club; drove our own car back and forth which was easy with valet at either end. We had a good lunch and dinner there. The spa offered a superior massage - thanks Pearl - but the atmosphere is not really luxe and the spa and massage rooms were very chilly. Our biggest issue was the lack of a sit-down breakfast. Nearby Luna Rosa is packed but the food is so-so. The hotel has a take-out cafe but the lines were insane on the weekend. We ended up going to Whole Foods for stuff to eat in our room, not what I was expecting. Overall, a positive experience, especially the staff. read more

New Year was extremely disappointed. Service was horrible, it took our waiter half an hour to come to our table for our first drink order. The menu online was not the same menu when we arrived in that items online were missing from the actual menu. The appetizer must have been made several hours before because it was sticking to the plate. The Sea Bass was cold, and the crust on one of the desserts was like a brick. A lovely hotel. Centrally located. Very nice facilities. However, the beach club and hotel itself has a slew of rules like "no talking on your cell phone" enforced by the "members." Presumably, these are to ensure a peaceful, civilized, relaxing experience. However, "members" regularly flaunt these rules including bringing their screaming children, drunk relatives, and rude and entitled retired parents (who may actually be the "members") who destroy any semblance of a relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were clean (Deluxe room) Great location The Beach Club was nice Valet/trolley service very convenient Balcony option amazing Sasha was the reason our stay was so great. The absolute best thing about the Seagate is Danielle at the front desk. She made our stay enjoyable . She is the reason for the 3rd star. The Spa itself is very average and frankly I was hoping my massage would end about halfway through it. Way overpriced. Additionally I was not allowed to use the steam room unless I was getting a massage. $600 plus per night and steam room is off limits? ouch! Finally, the requirement to wear the beach club wrist band throughout our stay or pay $100.00 for a new one is ridiculous. Going out to local restaurants with the wrist band clearly visible is idiotic. We will not be returning. read more

My review is on the beach club restaurant Had lunch there ordered the prime rib sandwich on sour dough bread my husband and I were splitting this meal The bread was soggy and it was white bread not sourdough The server never came back until we were done with our meal I took one bite and did not eat my half I did have the side salad and told her how the meal was terrible Etc.... she (Taylor) started you ate 1/2 the meal I can't do anything for you (snappy tone) I stated I don't want anything just letting you know She then said she would let the Mgr know Carlos came over who basically ignored my complain brought us cookies to sweet up my day (that's what he said exactly yo me ) But left the full charge of meal on our tab Will not be eating there when I return to the seagate Poor customer service for a resort like this, I'm glad it was only lunch and not dinner. read more

Hotel is amazing: we came here just for over night for my wife's birthday. Right at the beginning,Josh at the front desk was super polite, upgraded us to a nicer/ bigger room. The room is first class! Everything is updated, well designed. Bed very comfortable. 65" tv, perfect size for me. Fabulous air bubble jacuzzi, super strong and relaxing. Even room service in the morning took no longer than 15 minutes to arrive! Great location and even the hotel provides driving services everywhere! My family and I have stayed at a bunch of hotels in delray and seagate is the best one. The property itself is very nice and clean and the access to the beach club is what makes it all worthwhile. Most important note: everyone who works here is extremely friendly and my little boy was treated like a prince! The staff handed out treats and toys every day and he was mezmerized by the fish tanks. Also large spacious rooms. When staff says they will do something, they do it. Highly recommend! read more

MY EXPENSIVE PROPERTY DISAPPEARED! A $500 pair of shoes went POOF into the air here when I had just worn them and taken them off. Housekeeping knew nothing nor management nor security.How this place gets good reviews in beyond me. The carpets in the room was puke yellow and old, the look total DREARY. There were outside shutters on the windows so you had no view or daylight. In the coffee shop four counter people chatted while a line formed and one harried person tried to fill orders. I walked away without anything. The NEW manager was very nice but seemed overwhelmed with the incompetence already in order there. ** OH, and they charge you for hotel transport service thats on a first come basis even if you do not use it!! Their beach club and pool are blocks away! The town was pleasant and the main activity is eating at marginal outdoor restaurants and watching transplanted arrogant aged female New Yorkers trot about trying to look fashionable. My husband and I got married at a different venue, but we chose a room block at the Seagate Hotel and here is our review: Alison, the Sales Manager, was wonderful to work with. She was always easy to communicate with and very clear in her communication. She was very willing to work with us and be flexible. Alison was very helpful in booking our room block, assisting our guests, selecting our bridal and groom suites, booking a trolley, etc. She ensured our wedding weekend would be a stress-minimizing stay! The valet staff and drivers were exceptional. They were extremely courteous and went over the top to ensure safe and prompt rides. We are extremely grateful. Christoph was beyond helpful and made our wedding day special. The spa staff spoiled me and indulged me feeling like a beautiful bride. ALL of other staff was fabulous!! Fabulous!! We were treated like family and everyone hustled. We will never stay at another hotel in Delray. We will be back to re-live our amazing experience. It was unforgettable. The beach club- top notch. Great service. Quiet. Additionally, the rooms and grounds were beautiful. Well kept. We will be back as often as we can to celebrate our anniversary!!! read more

This definitely gets 5 stars for Delray Beach. You can only really judge a place by where it is and what it is surrounded with, and in Delray, this is the nicest place to stay. I enjoyed my stay fully and everyone on the staff was very nice. They have their own car service that will take you anywhere within I think 5 miles (there is a lot of choices within 5 miles), and they also have a private beach club which is a nice touch. I will stay there again the next time I am in Delray. read more

Where do I start? Great location situated by the beach. We came for a family time vacation and the hotel provided exactly what we needed. We did not use the spa services which I priced and are pricey for spa. But you are at a wonderful hotel w excellent service so you will pay for it. In and out valet and friendly staff at every turn to help you. They are good at recognizing you and knowing your needs. Front cafe with breakfast and quick lunch options, convenient but there are many more options up and down Atlantic Ave that will work as well. There is also a bar with live music that the locals seem to like. Two gift shops/boutiques style stores with some quick buys and some very pricey items too. The hotel has a pool that is shaded and quiet. A fitness room with several pieces of equipment. With your hotel stay, you also have beach club privileges. They have a trolley for high days plus the valet can run you over to it since its two blocks away. You can use their pool or sit on the beautiful beach. With your room key, you can start a tab for drinks and food items. They provide chairs, water, and towels towel towels! Again the service is outstanding The food prices at the club are competitive. Not over priced but you get what you pay for. All the lunches and snack were tasty and did not break the bank. All in all, a great place to relax for 2-5 days. We will return. read more

A weekend getaway turned into a bit of a hassle after a late night check-in at the Seagate. We checked in, went up to the room and then noticed that someone else had been in there. It looked like we accidentally walked into the wrong room, but really, they had checked us into a room that hadn't been cleaned. Furious, we phoned to the front desk and they apologized, sending someone upstairs to us immediately. The hotel concierge met us in the hallway, apologized again and then placed us in the room directly next to it. This one was clean, but upon inspection, the offered amenities (food and beverages in the room) were all expired. The next morning, we brought this to their attention and they moved us again to a suite on the top floor to make up for the entire fiasco. We knew this time that they had someone inspect the entire room, as they left a little flower on the pillow to almost note the "personal" touch. Room service was quick and friendly - the hummus and brie platters were pretty tasty, so no qualms there. All in all, the Seagate Hotel is a gorgeous place to stay with decent accommodations in the lively Delray Beach area. read more

I have to say, the staff outdid themselves this year. Samantha, Alexa and Hasani were our dream team, upgrading our room to a badass King suite with a sexy tub and amazing pool view. And did I mention, a special occasion complimentary bottle of Prosecco adorned with chocolate covered strawberries? One has no choice but to fall in love with The Seagate experience. Private driver if you want to go anywhere around the area, car service to the amazing Beach Club, the most beautiful rooms, with flawless interior design and an overall deliciousness that is just impossible to resist. My husband and I went here for a stay-cation a couple of weeks ago and it was truly a 5-star stay for us! The rooms were large and well-equipped with anything you may have possibly forgotten. We loved having complimentary newspapers available each morning and turn down service each night. The service was top notch from the front desk to the housekeeping and valet. During our stay, we also had scheduled a couples massage at the spa. We scheduled this a few weeks ahead of time, but they may also accept walk-ins. This was definitely the best massage either of us has ever had and the spa staff treated us like royalty all morning. Lastly, we headed over to the Beachclub for a short while. We would have loved to enjoy the amenities and rest on the beach; however, it was cold (for us Floridians) and rainy so we opted just to eat lunch. Lunch portions were huge and pretty tastey (we had the burger and turkey club). I would definitely recommend the Seagate to anyone looking for a weekend getaway or a luxury stay in Delray! read more

If you are coming to Delray Beach, this is the place to stay...based on location this is a Yelp 5 star all the way. The front desk staff as you come in are very friendly and professional, eager to help you ( We were checked in by Emily? , she was great). The rooms are new , clean and very nice modern motif. Special note - This is light years better than the Marriott across the street, I am a platinum Marriott member ( 100++ nights a year with their hotels) and I would not and will not ever stay there, its horrible. Located only a block away from the ocean, it is practically prime location off Atlantic Ave. Covered valet parking is complimentary, small modern lobby area. The rooms are spacious. Dark wood furnishing and trim, sliding plantation doors between the tub and bedroom area. Adequate-spaced balconies with view of the Avenue. The bedding is luxurious, soft, crisp white linens. The room has a roomy shower, separate door for toilet, roomy tub, plenty of counter space. The room offers complimentary Keurig coffee, sizable flat screen tv. The couch is also a fold out bed so that additional guests can stay, as needed. They have a trolley that takes you to the beach club. Hotel staff is friendly and responsive. Unfortunately, they house the Atlantic Grille restaurant, which is atrocious and lower the hotel's rating for that. I hope they realize the restaurant is not representing them well and hope they make Changes if they have control over the venue. read more

Found this gem on the WSJ weekend edition. Also found/discovered Delray Beach !! This is my new favorite place in Florida after South Beach. Just love the Ann Arbor style vibe of the town, and the Seagate fits right in. Walk to restaurants. Great attentive service. Friendly. And you can tell during the week, it is part of the fabric of the community as people stream in for Doo Wap night on Tuesday. This hotel is super comfortable, not cheap, but you really do get your money's worth. Nice relaxing pool, great outdoor bar, and you get to use the Seagate Beach Club..... and THAT is not to be missed. Just a walk or hotel car to the beach....private... with pool and club dining... young guys working the beach.... ice coffee brought to your lounge chair.... it does not get any better. read more
