Great place! We come here (Save Mart) to buy our groceries and we love to stop into the Tipping Point right inside the doors. They have a bar, tables, and outside seating with TVs. Great service by Luis, the bartender! He's awesome. Love watching the food preparation which I've only ordered the wings, but the menu looks yummy. Shoppers bring their purchased meats and produce and have them grill/cook to take home. You can order a cocktail/beer and walk thru the store with it while you shop. Was nearby and Yelped and found The Tipping Point, didn't realize until we got there that this was a cafe inside SaveMart similar to the cafe at WholeFoods which also with outdoor seating. Order at the counter and find seating either inside or outside. The Tri Tip sandwich and tater tots was a large serving that the Hubbs and I shared. Had ordered the Mac & Cheese for the babes but it is more for adults with strong cheese. The food here is so good! I love their grilled carrots and tri-tip meal. We got a meal with a choice of chicken or tri-tip it came with mashed potatoes and grilled carrots and broccoli. They are located inside the Savemart, we tried this place by chance because it smelled so good walking by. I am going obsessed with there carrots now, the broccoli and tri-tip are really good too. Service was good they were all very nice and we got our food quickly. They always have multiple beers on tap, you can also get food and snacks ready made for you. If you go to the butcher area they will wood fire grill just about anything for you. Then you take your fresh food back to the Tipping Point and get some great drinks to pair with it. Hi I love, Savemart I give the upmost respect. The store is very clean. The cashiers and workers are very professional they greet you. They say hi good morning good afternoon can I help you? They're very polite but I bring my working crew and I bring other people family and friends over to the bar to the tipping point and there's a rude employee over there plus you're cutting hours which is going to eventually cut people from coming the Manager over there at tipping point. June is very rude. I watched her from far but she had three people in a line. She was cutting up lettuce taken care of one order never greeted. No one never said hi never or smile. Or looked up Trust me. I'm watching her from far and I'm not a secret shopper. She went into the back and left those people hanging at the front line. Never said I'll be right back with you or can I offer nothing for the wait time. Can I offer you some nachos or something to hold up there wait and then she said how can I help you with a demand in her voice a couple of my employees and a couple of my friends don't wanna come back when she's there now we hear that she's here permanently cause of the cut of hours Save Mart management team is this what you want I'm just asking the bakery is great. I am mexican american grew up in california and know how to cook. The food, when it comes down to it, is what counts for Yelp. Flavor. The food is not good. Its inside a grocery store, its a cool spot, BUT it just does not taste good. I got the tater tot nachos and everything tasted canned and reheated. So bad. The beans were definitely from a can, the nacho cheese was old, the tater tots were mushed, etc. Pricing is cheap, the margarita was cheap and good, service was great, seating was plenty, place was nice and clean, plenty of parking, etc. But I couldn't even finish the food. The nacho cheese at the movies tastes better than that nacho cheese they put on my plate. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 only because everything else was nice and the margarita was fine. They even have an outdoor patio with giant jenga. read more

First time coming here, I was craving a tri tip sandwich, tri tip was delicious bread was a little hard in the corners and it should come with fries not chips for that price. We also had chips and guacamole but the guacamole had to much onions tomatoes and cilantro not my favorite. I came here tonight to sit and have a glass of wine on their patio. My experience was really top notch. We have been here before for food (which has always been really good) but tonight I was needing some "me time" and came to have a glass of wine and read my book. The woman who helped me (I should have asked for her name) was really excellent, she gave me a sizable pour on the wine because they didn't have the one I originally wanted. Continuously throughout my interactions with her, she was always very personable and kind. They turned on the fire for me outside on the patio. When I came back in after I was finished with my glass, I ordered food to go, they didn't have the broccoli that went with the tri tip plate, so she gave me extra carrots! Very disappointed. Not sure if it's the new corporate ownership of Save Mart or what but they've taken what was once a great family meal and made it into a meal for maybe three people while jacking the price up 50%. They had a wonderful tri tip dinner we bought since it opened that was $40. We could feed all six of my family and have leftovers.on this, so it became our weekend treat. For that $40 you received a full container of flame roasted carrots and broccoli, a full container of mashed potatoes and two pounds of tri tip. Now they charge $60 and you get half as much food. I have a food scale so before we dished up I weighed everything. The mashed potatoes container was less than 12 oz., the tri tip only weighed a little over a pound and our grilled veggies included three pieces of broccoli and about six or seven cut carrots. By the time three of my kids had dished up this time there was barely any mashed potatoes left, none of the vegetables, and my wife and I were left with only a few scraps of tri tip. I'm very disappointed in what was once a great meal at a great price. read more

Amazing tri tip! The salsa bar has an amazing pineapple salsa! & their bbq sauce was delish! Had a great lunch with my daughter. We got hungry & decided to eat before grocery shopping!! We split the 2 tacos (i got one tri tip for me & a chicken for her) we loved them! One taco was plenty for each one of us!! Reg size tortilla not the little ones. The tortillas was yummy & crisp! You wouldn't think a BBQ place inside a Save Mart would deliver anything special and boy would you be wrong! We found this place while in Modesto for a soccer tournament with a few hours between games. The reviews were great and it was close by so we decided to give it a shot. The chicken salad I had was bomb - period. The smoked chicken was super flavorful and the star of the meal. The lettuce is grilled and served warm which is a little different than I'd ever experienced before but somehow it worked. They do make it with cold lettuce if you ask for it as well. My husband had the tri tip sandwich and it looked very filling. He gave it a thumbs up which is rare since he usually finds something to complain about when it comes to BBQ. The menu selection had several other options that I'm looking forward to trying on our next trip to Modesto. read more

Really wanted to enjoy the meal we had 2 orders of chicken quesadillas. The filling was minimal & ended 2" from the edge, neither included guacamole. The pretzel sliders with tri top & chicken, had guacamole in it, who does that? And it said it came with shoestring fries, nope, a pile of tortilla chips, that does not make sense. The chicken nachos are huge and will feed 2 and are pretty good. The strawberry dessert was good, not topped with cream cheese, it is whip cream and could use more strawberries. The Tipping Point is like a really great tri-tip food truck, shoved in the corner of a grocery store and given a liquor license. It's weird, but delicious. I ordered the tacos on salsa tortillas and the churros with caramel sauce. Tacos were absolutely fantastic, incredibly flavorful despite their simplicity. The tri-tip was cooked perfectly and the salsa tortilla brought a lot of flavor in an unexpected place. The side of tortilla chips were rather disappointing, however, and didn't seem very fresh. Churros were fried beautifully, with a nice crisp bite and plenty of cinnamon sugar. Caramel sauce was delicious, but could have been thicker to stay on the churro after dipping. read more
