Wow... just wow! What a great dining experience. We came in on a quiet night. We were given the heads up that service might be a little slow because of a staffing issue, but we saw no issues at all. Our server did a great job of taking care of our table. We caught the tail end of happy hour and got some old fashioneds. They were smooth and went down way too easy. We snacked on some duck fat fries while we waited for the entrees to arrive. The fried Brie was really that savory goodness you would hope for. The dipping sauce was an unexpected flavor profile, I think it was squash. It absolutely worked! The French Burger was amazing! The beef was super high quality, and it was cooked to perfection! The apple and Brie combination was a first for me on a burger and I'm so glad I tried it. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! The desserts... oh my... another highlight! The bread pudding may be the best I've ever had and the twister meringue was epic happiness in every bite. It was like having a deconstructed lemon meringue pie with toasted marshmallow. So good! Great service, great food, great venue!!!

Beef Cheeks, omg first time and my dish was plentiful and delicious.

If there was a 6 star, I would give. We had a birthday reservation for Feast 316 in Camas. Unfortunately, they had a gas leak and had to close for 24 hrs. The owner contacted me to apologize for our inconvenience. I shared that it was my husband's birthday and was looking forward to a good steak. He said, Oh, well we have a second restaurant in Vancouver and I would be happy to comp your table Cocktails. He also, said he could call and set up reservations. Outstanding service!!!! Sedgwick was such a nice place to dine. Our server was so friendly and made us all feel welcomed. Upscale looking, we did not know about Sedgwicks. We will definitely come back to downtown Vancouver for dinner. Thank you again Tim (Feast 316).

I really wanted to love this place. The service is good, but when you're the only table--you're the only table--but she/they were wonderful. Ambiance couldn't be better and the little touches to the big wow pieces of decor is fantastic, but a build up for, what was unfortunately just an okay meal. We got a little of everything. The baked Brie is a must--but lacking in the chutney and marmalade front. The scallops were inedible (odd flavor and covered in a sugary BBQ-tasting sauce). Kinda same story on the rest (chowder, squash soup, fries, steak skewer, etc), just a miss by being dry, flavorless or just un-salted. But! The pearl onion skewer, can I get 10 to go. I would say, oddly enough, I'd give this place another go, and I urge you too. Maybe just an off night or so. As a big fan of FEAST, I wish this and other places in the same family all the best.

We came here for a birthday dinner and overall had a really nice experience. The ambiance is dark and intimate, which made it feel cozy and perfect for a special night out. The atmosphere definitely sets the tone if you're looking for something a little more upscale and relaxed. The food was good and thoughtfully prepared, though the menu is on the smaller side with limited options. It's more of a small plates concept, so keep that in mind if you're expecting larger portions. But they did have a few entree type items that were bigger portions. Everything we tried tasted great, but it is on the expensive side for the portion sizes. The meat from the skewers were bursting with flavor and so tender that is melted in your mouth! The staff was very nice and welcoming, which added to the positive experience. While I wish there were a few more menu choices, we still enjoyed our evening and would consider coming back for another special occasion.

Pre-Movie Dinner Win! Stopped in on a Saturday in late June around 5PM before catching a movie, and we practically had the place to ourselves -- a total hidden gem at that hour. It started filling up around 6-6:30, so if you like a quieter vibe, aim for that early window. Pro Tip: All-day happy hour on Mondays! I will definitely be back to take advantage of that very soon. The French Burger WOW. No notes, no crumbs. The balance of caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, perfectly cooked steak patty, melty cheese, and bun? Absolute harmony. Would order again without hesitation. Cornmeal-Crusted Trout Solid dish overall. The seasoning on the batter was a little inconsistent, but dipping it into the tangy tom yum sauce really elevated everything. Without the sauce, the fish was a bit bland -- but the summer salad on the side was bright, fresh, and a great contrast. Fingerling Potatoes Get. These. Immediately. Creamy gouda fondue, blue cheese, and little pork belly bites made this insanely flavorful -- and I don't even like blue cheese! Rich, savory, indulgent... everything you want from a side dish. Espresso Martini Strong, smooth, and delicious. Just what I needed -- a cocktail with a kick. Loved it. The Vibe Kinda vintage-chic with some personality. Think velvet couches/seating, a chandelier, fun accent walls -- it felt festive and flirty. They even had themed cocktails for Pride Month. Most folks around us looked like they were on dates, and I get why -- it's got that kind of romantic energy.

We were so surprised to arrive just before 1 PM on a Friday and have the place almost all to ourselves. It made me wonder at first if maybe it wasn't that good, but it turns out it was really good. We started off with the focaccia that came with a fantastic dipping sauce. The bread was toasted so perfectly to have that crisp on the outside, but the inside was incredibly tender and flavorful. For seven bucks you can't go wrong with this and recommend it with anything else you're having . We also shared the spaghetti squash which I liked a lot, but my dining companion didn't particularly care for. It's cooked "al dente "and not everybody appreciates squash that is a bit crispy, but I found the flavors to be delightful and would order it again. We wanted to add a protein, so we had the chicken thigh and green onion yakitori, which I was unfamiliar with and learned that it's basically skewered protein. This was incredibly tasty and I'm not sure what kind of sauce it had on it, but it had just the right amount of a salty and sweet taste And we both enjoyed this a lot. Coffee was very good and the service was perfect. Oh, by the way, dishes are served family style, and meant to be shared so this worked perfectly for us! The restaurant is in the bottom floor of a very old building that has fantastic pictures of old time Vancouver all over. I recommend going in just for the history but stick around for the food.

Ok. I've always been a big fan of this place, the vision, the menu, the execution, presentation, wine list, etc. Tonight was the second fail on execution. First time was the octopus. Came out raw. Literally like chewing on a rubber band. Tonight, the Beef Wellington. All good, but the beef came raw. Not figuratively. If I'd have kicked the plate, the entree would have, literally, walked off to pasture to find better grazing land.

Five others and I dined here last evening. First, I want to say that I have lived and died over the previous seven years by Yelp reviews. What I mean in this case is that I live in Portland, Oregon, but we decided to dine in Vancouver, Washington. Well, this time, the people doing reviews on this app must not have eaten at the same restaurant I did. Who are all these people giving this place 4-star reviews? Are they bots? The food was wildly overpriced and very hit-or-miss. We ordered a good deal of items from the menu. The frog legs were very frog-tasting and were burnt. The Brie was good, but they only gave you a tiny piece of cornbread with a massive bowl of cheese. The burger tasted like a homemade burger--not in a good way. The grilled artichoke salad consisted of canned artichokes. How does one grill a jarred artichoke? The salad was swimming in oil. My father had the butternut squash soup and said it was good. The duck fat fries were "meh." I could go on, but you get the drift. The drinks were another strange thing. They were mocktails, but they were all way too strong-tasting. The mixes were all wrong. The restaurant itself was strange. It was cut in half, with one side serving as a lounge and the other as a dining room--completely empty. We sat in the lounge. The service was average. Our waitress put in a ticket for one item, and when we asked her about it when it was time to leave, she stated that the kitchen must not have seen the ticket. I believe I am being very generous with a three-star review. I feel like the reviews come from people who were intoxicated and whose taste buds were off. I will not be returning here. I did appreciate their chandelier.

Not sure, but my expectation for a burger prepared "medium, or medium rare" would not come out "well done" according to this Pic.

Arrived for dinner, staff were friendly but not polished, maybe overwhelmed(?). Food was very underwhelming, especially for the price. We had the "fried chicken" (too fatty), sedgewick salad (simple/fine), French burgers x 3 (all over cooked). Why ask how do I want your burger prepared if you can't execute it's doneness? A focacca bread that is so small, I laugh that it was to be shared. The restaurant is nice. Not sure what the Marilyn Monroe statue is there for? I feel the sedgewick wants to be a Cadillac, but really is a Buick that you paid too much for.

The bartender was amazing, easy to talk to and helped me pick out a drink. My friend and I only got drinks no food, the bar was not busy at all, music was at a good volume too. One thing is the restroom, it's so incredibly dark, needs a light above the mirror, you legit can't even see yourself in it lol

The area has developed quickly and having grown up nearby and moved away years ago, it's amazing to see what's happened along here. Prices - well, everyone has their hand out along here. We were in town somewhat last minute staying at Hotel Indigo. The hotel provides $10 drink coupons so we decided to drop in for an impromptu drink while planning our dinner strategy. It was already 7p so no view but live music and a nice buzzy ambiance. Wait staff were fast and friendly, and before we knew it two delicious cocktails were in front of us. At the same time, I overheard the waitress at the table beside us saying that food could be ordered from El Gaucho downstairs. So we asked for a menu and started perusing. If you don't know El Gaucho it's a classic steak restaurant with lots of cuts and sizes, a sprinkling of seafood, the usual salads, and tableside this and that. A notch above Ruth's Chris, Morton's or The Capital Grille but with Peter Luger Manhattan prices. Yes, that's right, Manhattan prices in Vancouver. WA. The Couv is all grown up. Or at least trying to be, Like Witness Tree, El Gaucho has a mandatory 20% gratuity regardless of party size. Theoretically this shouldn't be an issue if you know restaurant culture and tip appropriately but I think a mandatory fee rubs many wrong to assume service will always be at that level. And on top of very high prices. A $72 6oz filet is $86, so those 8 bites better be damn good. That said, we ordered oysters, a filet, seafood pasta, and wine. The wine list was decent but not as extensive for a premium steak restaurant. Wines had the typical markup which meant $20-35+ per glass. Both the pasta and steak were good but - and this may sound picky - at $72 for 6 ounces of steak (a bar of soap) I expect perfection which means medium rare throughout. The steak was medium in some parts. If I can achieve medium rare throughout at home it should be possible here. So here's the math (rounded) for those interested. Total bill: $295. $225 food and drinks, $45 service fee (mandatory 20%), and $24 tax (8.8%). Interestingly, the 20% service charge is taxed which means we actually paid $49 or 28.8%. Had I been given the choice of my own 20% tip it would be applied to food and drink and a slightly lower bill. Not a huge deal but these are the little details - call it "nickel and diming" patrons - that rub many wrong. One note - another server came to our table before our food arrived and placed a steak in front of me. Before he could place the other dish I told him it wasn't our order. He picked up the steak and delivered to another table. In most restaurants - and certainly in a premium setting - that dish should have been remade. Whether perception or simple hygiene you simply can't do that. All in all, the Witness Tree was a nice spot, with tasty cocktails and ambiance. Prices and service fee will be off putting for some, and not sure this would be my go-to as there are many rooftop / view options nearby.

Intentionally set earlier in the day understanding the significance of the day. (Been together over 20 years.) When we arrived my husband kindly requested a window table with view of the water. The woman taking the reservation info advised that she would try, but "so busy" etc. We were sat at a half circular booth that was facing water but set back from water. I just want to note there were 7 tables open at window seating. 3 of which were 2 tops. We did have 3, so essentially for us, 4 EMPTY tables could have accommodated our request. 2 remained empty the entirety of our meal. So I just can't understand why this request wouldn't be granted. Waitress we were assigned was amazing. On top of things, refills etc. We got the wing appetizer, cheese curds, and the wedge salad as appetizers. They were all good. The wings I would get with no sauce. The sauce on them was very ketchup reminiscent. For the entrees we both did the steak frites. Fries were amazing. The steak was sooooo tough. Medium rare didn't save them. Our child got the half pizza and demolished. For dessert we got the cookie with ice cream and the valentines special cheesecake. Both were delicious. Overall 3.5. Could use some help at front. If you don't realize you have that many free tables and could easily accommodate a paying customer the table they prefer, it just simply doesn't make sense. At the end, I did ask manager why we wouldn't be able to sit where we requested and there really was just no good reason. It was just a shrug like it was a busy day. Like I guess maybe saving for make believe guests?? LOL unreal. It's not often I would question things. But this was just absurd. Again, I need to say, our waitress was amazing. Food was fine. Just a very weird experience as far as seating. Like who are you saving those seats for?? Anywho. Enjoy!

We arrived right at 12 p.m., and many buffet items were already empty or close to empty -- smoked salmon, oysters, salad plates, and several other dishes. We waited thinking the food would be quickly replenished, but restocking was consistently slow throughout the entire meal. Even after multiple reminders, they would only bring out very small amounts at a time despite long lines of guests waiting. To their credit, the ambiance was nice. The Mother's Day decorations, live music, and small bracelet gift were thoughtful touches. However, the food quality and service simply did not justify the cost. At $100 per person plus service fees (close to $600 total excluding tips for our group of four), we expected a much more organized and well-stocked brunch experience. The most surprising part was that a steakhouse buffet didn't even include steak. Sadly, this experience made us question whether we'd return for their regular dining service.
