After going through 3 plumbers to get a couple of problems fixed in our newly purchased home, we finally got very fortunate in finding Mark from The Service People. Waited weeks for the repairs due to poor work ethic, lack of concern and/or outright refusal to do the work by the previous contracted companies. Mark came in and acessed the problems and also went above and beyond to educate me on what exactly needed to be done and the time frame. Super helpful. Professional and stellar work ethic. He stayed extra time to complete a job in a hard to reach spot. Had to have them back recently for another issue (leaking pipe) and agaun he was prompt, courteous and went above and beyond to explain what needed to be repaired. I highly recommend this company if all their employees are as good as Mark ( the office personel is also friendly and helpful) then this is the company you want to call. We've had Tony and Matt come out a few times to fix various issues with our new house. Their quotes have been lower than the competitors, and each time they've gotten the job done quickly and effectively. I've found them to be upfront and honest about the problems they see - they will offer the right solution, not the solution that would take the longest and earn them the most money. Each time we've needed them, we've managed to schedule appointments within a few days. One time we needed to order a part, and it did take several weeks longer than they estimated, and I had a hard time getting in touch with them to follow up, but once the part came in we quickly scheduled an appointment and got the work done. One of their crew came to take a look at my running toilet on July 28th and determined that a new 3" toilet flapper is needed. After calling to get one and then retrieving and installing it, he told me that the charge was $149. I thought this charge was really expensive for a very minor repair. I spoke with other friends about it, and I was told that I was ripped off. I am not going to use this company again. Make sure to ask for repair cost or an estimate ahead of time. read more

Matt came out to my house for a gas leak. After the repair the gas company came to my house 3 more times and indicated there was still a leak. After asking Matt to come out and meet with the company at my house he was happy to come and make sure everything was okay. Matt took his time to show and explain to me the process to make sure I was understanding what was going on. Turned out there was no leak after the repair! Matt was such a team player and so patient. We had a couple of issues in a two week period and both times, Tony from The Service People came out to help us out of our jam. The first time was when water came gushing out of our recessed lighting fixture over breakfast over a weekend. By later that same Saturday afternoon, Tony came and diagnosed the issue and fixed the likely culprit: the toilet. He replaced the seal and we've had no problems since. Not even a week later, the pilot went out on our water heater and we felt really lucky Tony came out again to diagnose the problem. We got a new replacement water heater in a matter of days and are super happy with the level of service and attention that he gave us. I haven't used Matt for over a year and a half only because I haven't had a plumbing issue. But in the past I used him 3 to 4 times. Some of my problems were minor but I also had him install a tankless hot water tank for me. He came over and gave me a quote and guaranteed me not to go over the amount he quoted. He and a coworker were at my home for what I think was much longer than they had planned, and he stayed true to his word. I'd never paid a penny over what he has ever quoted me. I am always very happy with his work and he has fair prices. You will not be disappointed if you hire Matt. read more

I specifically requested this company after reading the reviews of the original company (The Water Solution,Inc) assigned to my AHS claim. It's not enough to have a home warranty these days but since I am a single female I have to do my due diligence to ensure that I receive that best service and do not get taken advantage of. read more

Our home warranty called The Service People to replace a water heater that was leaking. Tony did a wonderful job, and even cleaned up before leaving. I would give them 5 stars, except for the $175 permit fee that was charged, when the permit fee in Pickerington is only $60. I understand adding a little bit to the permit fee as an administrative costs but near 3 times the fee is outrageous. When I called the office administrator about it, she said it was decided by the technician, when I asked Tony about it, he said it was decided by the office, leaving messages for an explanation of the difference resulted in no-one responding. Finally I asked the home warranty company to find out for me, and they got a similar vague answer. Conclusion, they will do an awesome job for you, BUT if there are any permits needed, take a minute to call your municipal/city office beforehand so they can't pull a quick one on you. read more

Our home warranty company contracted The Service People to fix our water heater. Tony came out and diagnosed that a burner assembly wasn't working, which was causing the heater not to heat. He went on vacation, and we spent a godawful four weeks waiting, contacting The Service People, being told the part wasn't there but would be by X day, waiting, contacting them, being told the part had been delayed or not shipped or no it would be there another day, waiting, rinse, repeat. Over the course of contacting them eight times, I was told seven separate dates that the part would *absolutely* be in, and three different and clashing excuses as to why it hadn't arrived (one was that the manufacturer sent the wrong part, so it had to be returned; another was that the original *correct* part had been sent to the wrong location; and the third was that the manufacturer had never run their credit card so had never shipped the part in the first place). I still have no idea what happened to the part. We would have gone to another company after the first week and a half if our warranty company had allowed it. The only bright spot in this story is that as soon as Tony got back from vacation, he worked with our warranty company to get us an entirely new water heater instead because--you guessed it-- they still didn't have the part. So, after a month of no hot water and a week's worth of lunch breaks wasted trying to figure out why, we finally can shower in comfort again. I would not recommend working with this company. I would recommend Tony as a contractor, but hire him on the side, not through The Service People. read more

The Service People are a joke to me. I had them out on March 28 and April12, 2016. The water heater they installed on March 28th never gave me hot water, lukewarm at best. So a new electronic system to the water heater was ordered to replace the one that came with the tank. It never warmed up either until I went to my basement and turned on the hot water valve and it heated up in 15 minutes. I have had hot water until recently, July 18, 2016 and I called to get a serviceperson to come and check out the water heater. (1) Can never get a person on the phone unless you rotate through the numbers. (2) Since this is a family owned company, the person who answers the phone is not professional at all. The individual always seems to be way to busy to accommodate the customers. I mean it seems like I was bothering the individual and they wanted me off the phone as fast as they could get me off of it. No serviceperson was available to service me when I called on July 22, 2016. I told the individual I would try to lite the pilot myself, since I had instruction to do so and we hung up. (3) I did get the pilot lit, but still no hot water today, July 23, 2016 and this company is closed today. Please, I do not recommend this company. There customer service is horrible and the hot water heater sucks, and that is putting it mildly. I know what the other reviews have stated, but this is my experience and I hope that this situation can be alleviated after they read my review. I hope this helps others as well. I will be going to their establishment when they open on Monday. read more
