I've had several phone conversations with Ryan, the owner, and he's always been helpful and not pushing to close a deal. But I did use Stanley Shade just yesterday for some repair work on my Hunter Douglas shades - they were installed by the previous owner. And although I'm pretty handy and a big Youtube person, I couldn't quite program my shades correctly. Ryan had Martin come over and he was on time. Well, in just a few minutes Martin got the task done in a matter of minutes. He also gave me more insight on the blackout shades I'm dreaming about for my bedroom. Ryan was also very gracious about letting me and a neighbor (we live in a high rise in DTLB) to share the house call fee; we had made the appointment together. Sooo it's 2024 and we decided to get the 4 1/2"shutters in the rest of the house. We got the first…read more3.5" shutters in the bedroom and bathroom back in 2018. After finally getting "new construction" windows installed, we decided to go with larger 4 1/2" shutters. We were so nervous because not many people get that size, but we decided to go for it and boy do we love them! Everyone that comes over says our home has a "beachy vibe" with the large shutters. They look so nice with our painless windows! We only had one issue with the 2018 shutters in the bathroom rusting. ISD said to order the waterproof replacement would run us $650 for a small window but that seems a bit too much. ISD brought a new rustless magnet and made it look a lot better. Overall we are very happy with the way the new large shutters turned out, and happy with how the older 3 1/2" held up in the bedroom.

We have used them for the past 3 years on various things from automatic shades to door windows to restroom windows. We remodeled in three phases and after each phase we needed a set of blinds. We went through everything thoroughly indicating which windows needed to be motorized, valence types, and color. A week or so later, I had to reach out regarding installation as I was told installation would be within a week and had not heard back. He updated me saying he would check on it and got back to me stating the color I wanted was not available (not sure why this wasn't indicated sooner since installation should have already taken place.) I reluctantly chose another color and waited. Aaron and his staff installed the shades about a week later. Upon completion, I noted that no motorized shades were installed as requested and the options we had chosen were not correct on a few windows. I contacted him and we decided to just forego them as I was pregnant and in a time crunch. A few months later, the shades started fraying, so I contacted Aaron, and it all went downhill from There. Not only did the communication and responsiveness break down after he was paid, but he deliberately ignored me for months at a time and made many false representations. To this day, I still have not heard back from him. I would not recommend Aaron or his team to anyone.
