We were shopping in the area and decided to stop in for a bite. We asked to have the salad chopped, with grilled chicken on the side to share - they made everything so good and didn't mind chopping the salad (some places do). I've eaten here a few times and the food was decent. Unfortunately I was there just a few days ago and ended up getting sick from it. My husband also got sick. We both had almost the exact same meal, shawarma, rice, salad, flatbread pita and fried kibbee. Very easily one of the best and casual Mediterranean food places in Canton... we tried some special soup last time and it was delicious... All kabobs and shawarma are always great and portions are huge... their Guava Smoothie (Guava Juice with banana and honey) is too good to resist... service is always good and very fast... definitely recommended for casual Mediterranean outings ! read more

Ordered the Sheikh platter for the four of us. This is a pretty amazing deal. Dinner started off with a nice bowl of hummus, hot baked pitas, and olive oil and lemon juice on the side. The lentil soup was also great. We ordered the platter with rice and this was an excellent choice. The four of us couldn't finish off all the platter and we have lunch for two for tomorrow. I'm always greeted by the sweetest members of staff including the owner. I've came in 30 mins before closing and received excellent service. Chicken shawarma is amazing as well as the veggie grape leaves (although a little pricy). I wish they had more falafel options; they can be a little dry because they don't put that much sauce on them but overall great place. read more

This is the Second time I have Been here. The first was for a school fundraiser, at that time I was not impressed. Hands down the best middle eastern food I have ever eaten. The staff was so friendly and the atmosphere very inviting. As an American I have felt out of place in some middle eastern restaurants, afraid to ask because of my lack of knowledge of the food. Not here, the staff was more than happy to educate us on the different types of food and the ones we might like to try sometime. My wife and I ate at the Sheikh Restaurant for the first time last weekend. Our server (Risam?) was extremely rude. When she brought our food, I thanked her, but she didn't even look at me or acknowledge my thanks. During dinner, she didn't ask us even once how our food was. I had to ask her to refill my coke. Once we had finished eating, we had to wait for five minutes till she came to our booth. She knew we were finished eating, but she was more interested in eating her own dinner all this time (her family/friends were having dinner in the booth next to ours and she was stopping by every few minutes at their booth to eat and talk to them). Her behavior was extremely unprofessional. On top of all this, my wife had food poisoning later that night from the lamb ghallaba she had for dinner at Sheikh. I called the next day to talk to the manager. He wasn't there but the lady who took my contact information promised that he would call the next day. It has been five days and there has been no call from him. We are very disappointed with our experience and will never eat at Sheikh Restaurant in Canton again. read more

First experience with middle-eastern food. They have delicious food, large portions, and a nice atmosphere. Service is hit or miss, I've had good and bad experiences but I'll disregard that due to the absolutely delicious food they serve. First time trying this out, the lady on the phone was very rude and didn't feel like answering some of my questions, no one was wearing masks and they were not professional at all. Tabouli was old from the day before you can tell when parsley is been sitting in the fridge for a while, when asked about what comes on my falafel plate, she said tahini so I asked for veggies on the side and she said ya that comes with it, so she lacked telling me that when I first asked, I did not like her attitude at all. My falafel plate had barely any veggies, they sprinkled some lettuce, 3 pieces of each turnips, tomato's and pickles, the plate has 8 pieces of falafel I'm not sure how can I manage to have poor amount of veggies with 8 pieces of falafel. Tahini had poor flavor, overall It's a waste of meal. Definitely not going back, very poor customer service, I do not recommend, it was a waste of money and a meal for me. read more

Omg this place is sooo good! Portions are generous too. I thought the prices were a wee bit expensive, but when you get your portion it can feed 2. We got the falafel, lamb, and chicken wrap. They are pretty big and taste great. We also got the regular baba and it was a huge side. The fresh pitas with garlic was also really good - the pitas are small pocket size. The things that were negative were the place - not really pleasant. We did carry out. Also the customer service was lacking. The owner kept on talking to his employees on not allowing subs over and over. Not a conversation I want to hear. I'm torn between 3.5 to 4 stars for this place! All halal food, which is great! We tried The mixed Shawerma platter, hommous, and chicken with lemon sauce! I'm middle eastern so I know what I'm talking about, the Shawerma its the american stove cooked version, not the skewer moist meat version but the seasoning was great, and the bread and garlic dip were yummy, so you can still make a yummy sandwich from that! The lemon chicken on the other hand is really moist and flavourful, the sauce is great we dipped everthing in it! Plates are large, small sized hommous is enormous, we didnt even order salad because the 1 that came with entree was large enough for all 3 adults! Oh they had a great chilli too, with an arabic twist! A huge bonus is the great customer service, so friendly and welcoming. So we'll be definitely back! read more

I went there couple days ago & got dinner with my co workers . The place was clean & empty , I ordered shawarma combo & medium hummus . I was surprised when i saw the portion .. It was huge & can feed at least 2 people ... The salad was good but the shawarma was really bad . I love the middle eastern food & i know what does shawarma mean ... Its not a real shawarma i think they made it on a flat grill not on a skewer & also the taste is nasty too .. The worst shawarma i ever tried . Not a great experience at all read more

If you are looking for excellent middle-eastern food, you cannot do better than The Sheikh! The food is to die for, very reasonably priced and great portions. The staff are wonderful, especially Hanadi (the manager).. we are treated like family every time we come in which is at least once a week, sometimes more. Have been eating here for 2 years. 12 months ago I would have given 5 stars.They have always had excellent garlic sauce and fatoush salads. Used to have delicious tender lamb and moist chicken. We usually order take out around 4:30 pm, Well before any busy time they may have. Last three orders have been smaller portions and the quality has plummeted. Just finished my last meal. Lamb was literally dry over cooked crumbs and my wife's chicken was about the same. I am very sad to say that I wont return. R.I.P. Sheik. read more
