Stayed here two nights to attend a wedding that was happening down the street on NYE. The lobby was amazingly beautiful- loved it. However, the room was incredibly dark - just two end table lamps in the main area, only one of which worked and the bed was very uncomfortable with some noisy plastic under the sheet (we didn't want to look). The bathroom shower was nice, but most of the room seemed like it hadn't been updated in a while. Since it was winter we didn't get to enjoy the pool or pool bar but I'd bet in the summer that part is nice. It's a little on the small side and there's no hot tub but there's also not many rooms. I'd consider going back.

One of the worst hotels I've stayed in. The pictures of the room on the website were not even close to what it actually was. The ceiling was just painted cinder blocks. The customer service was also not great. I went to the front desk to ask for a first aid kit and the worker was asleep. Once he woke up, he dug through some boxes and was able to find 2 bandaids and a disinfectant wipe that expired in 2021. You can tell that this used to be a nice hotel and I'm sure it was but it has severely gone downhill and I wish I could have stayed at a motel that's the same quality and a third of the pric

This hotel is not just a poor representation of the services it advertises, but an actual outright lie. Not only does this not qualify as a 'Resort' (other hotels would not attempt that award given the equivalent amenities, or lack thereof), nor as a Spa as it actually does not even have a Spa (wishing/hoping/planning to have one does not count). The Shore Club Resort & Spa is without a doubt the lowest grade basic motel I have ever stayed in, albeit with an attached restaurant, and the worst accomodation I have ever stayed in of my 57 years on this planet. Hotels do not have motel design where your room is accessed entirely externally, like a chalet room. Where should I start? Perhaps with the bathroom ceiling which was bowed and stained under the weight of the water that was leaking from the room/floor above and was causing the light fitting to fall out. Or perhaps with the shower with a floor/base that is so poorly designed/fitted (incl. screen) that it leaks onto the bathroom floor, flooding it. Perhaps as a result of the water leaks throughout, the electric outlet(s) in the bathroom also didn't work (no electricity), and the light bulbs over the sink were each grade of state for all 3 bulbs; one out, one almost dead and the third bright. The floors was dirty and sand covered when we arrived, with no towels available in the room with the excuse that there had been a delay with delivery on check-in; I had to go explicitly ask/demand those later which were tired/worn and had both holes and had lost any soft texture/plushness. There were holes in the walls, the appearance of someone having chiseled/forced the door, significant chipped paint and a loose window within it's frame. There was only one light serving the bed area/room despite all photos suggesting 2 bedside lights as would be standard in any motel/hotel room. There was 1 insignificant seat and no table providing minimal counter top space to use; there was a rusty fixed (screwed) attachment on one of the bedside tables that I can only assume was supposed to once hold a prior tv remote perhaps. There was no in-room safe to provide secure storage, as is standard in all motel/hotel accomodations these days. There was no WiFi in the room or facility other than the lobby space. There was no full length mirror nor adequate mirror (one tiny port-hole style attempt mounted high on wall) to use for dressing or make-up, for my wife, which was a missing necessity considering the lighting was out in the bathroom. Did I mention the failing bathroom extractor fan that was loud vibrating as it attempted to continue to function? Don't take my word for any of this; review the photos I uploaded on other sites (such as tripadvisor, since apparently not an option here) to see for yourself and compare against the glossy fictitious representation on the facility's website. Finally, to complete the setting, the occupant of the (chalet) room below was a marijuana / weed addict who clearly couldn't stop using for more than 10 minutes and so our 'room' smelt of skunk the entire time we stayed there. This facility should actually be reported to a trading standards authority. Stay here at your peril; you have been warned.

If I could give this hotel zero stars I would. We were here for a wedding this past weekend. We checked into the "newly renovated hotel" for $200 a night. When I say this is one of the most disgusting places I have ever seen, it is a low end cheap motel. The first room they gave us, which was "cleaned" had hair all over the bathroom floor and in the sink. There was dirt/dust being blown from the AC unit onto the "cleaned" bed. The toilet did not work and would not flush. I went down and told the people at the front desk, they told me they would send someone down to the room to clean the bathroom again and fix the toilet. I figured I would give them some time so I looked up that there was target 5 minutes away so I went to go get lysol and disinfectant wipes because I was so grossed out at this point. I came back an hour later and no one had been to the room to clean or fix the toilet. I had to get ready for the wedding I was supposed to be attending in 2 hours. I went back down to the front desk and told them again I needed a different room. They finally put me in a different room and again this room was just as bad. Disgustingly dirty, awfully renovated and I honestly just did not feel safe. I was crying at this point. My family works in hotels and I told the front desk that this is not ok, not up to code and how can you advertise the pictures of the renovated rooms and then put me in the past 2 rooms I was in and charge me $200 for one night. They did end up comping my room for the night and I told them it did not matter, I was not sleeping here anyway. I would drive home at 2 AM after the wedding. I was so entirely grossed out by the place. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Well if you are considering staying here think again overpriced for a moldy dirty room. No towels or toilet paper had to go to front desk to get . Did not sleep the entire night due to being itchy felt like there was sand in the sheets . Save your money . A hot weekend and hardly any air in the common areas

The only bummer was the umbrella. Pro tip: Do not pay $15 to rent an umbrella for a day. The umbrella was poor quality with plastic ribs that collapsed in the wind. We couldn't use it - had to take it down. But the manager refused a refund. The response was, "It was a windy day." Yes, it was a windy day. There are a lot of windy days at the beach. I had seen the Chateau Inn and Suites but since it was about ten more minutes away, I hadn't stayed there yet. When I looked into booking, Sundays were available for one night stays, so I booked a standard queen room. About a week or so before my stay I was reading reviews to get a feel for the place, coffee situation (very important!!) parking etc. and someone mentioned that they do not have elevators. I have a lot of medical issues so this was a big red flag for me and I had not seen it mentioned anywhere. I gave them a call and asked if they could give me a room on the first floor and they told me they'd be happy to, which eased my worries. The parking was described in the reviews as difficult to say the least - it's a very small lot and first come first served. They do have additional parking across the street as well at the station but if you are anything like me and pack for a week even though it's only a night, you definitely want a close spot to carry all of your thirty bags inside. (That being said, and also now that I know their staff is so helpful, as you'll see in my photos I do have a rather gigantic vehicle so I think when I stay here next I will take them up on the additional parking lot offer!!) But this time, I did back my gigantic van into one of the spots and everything worked out just fine so please know it can be done. Walking over to the main entrance I was surrounded by lush hostas, classic beach bicycles and that lovely gray shaker siding that just screams "the shore" and made me super happy. I was greeted inside by Jeff who made me feel very welcome. He then told me that since I had requested the ground floor but they hadn't any more of my specific room on this floor, they upgraded me to a double queen suite with a kitchenette and patio. (I was completely floored by this and thanked him since I needed the ground floor due to a medical issue. It was really important to me and they took it so seriously, it really meant so much.) Jeff gave me a tour of the main reception area and informed me of all of the complimentary refreshments, amenities, beach information and rentals. He offered suggestions on local food and any other businesses should I need them. He seemed very well-informed and experienced on both the area and his work in general. He helped carry my bags to my room and pointed some cool things out along the way. Jeff definitely elevated my experience from the second I walked in that beautiful door and is a perfect first and lasting impression for the Chateau. The incredible room, I imagine, will also be in my memory for a pretty long while. Entering on your very own red brick patio with a real heavy brass key is a kind of charming you cannot buy at a big hotel chain. It just feels a certain way, very North East and classic. The beds are big, fluffy, and the best part is that there is no itchy cover on top - they have giant white (I think down??) quilts and huge pillows, four on each bed. I noticed that there were also a variety of pillows - each bed had two soft and two firm (I'm crazy about my pillows and bring a tiny neck pillow with me but I didn't even need it.) Great mattress, extremely comfortable, like sleeping in a nest of clouds. Impeccably clean. Perfection. The kitchen looked brand new. And spotless. (I even recognized the Kitchen Aid oven as a very high end oven, the Café series maybe??) Beautifully done and a Keurig machine! What more could you want? The bathroom - The room itself of course (does it even need to be said at this point) BEAUTIFUL. One of the things in particular I I enjoyed about this Inn was that everything was so solid and of impressive quality, from the countertops to the bar stools. Nothing felt cheap, or breakable. And I loved that we're not just expected to use a smaller towel as a bath mat - it's an actual real fluffy bath mat!! This is so rare and such a minor detail but to me it made a difference. And the bathroom was probably the cleanest I've ever seen at any hotel I've ever been to (not exaggerating- the entire room was completely spotless.) I highly recommend staying here. Yes, during peak season it can be a little more expensive than some other Inns/hotels but I've stayed at a lot of places in the area and nothing has compared to this level of service, cleanliness, beauty and amenities. And off-season, I have seen the rates being much less than other places. I'd love to come back and stay for longer than one night to be able to explore the beach. I'd probably upgrade myself this time because now that I've had that kitchen and patio I don't think I'd be able to NOT have that kitchen and patio. What have they done to me!

She explained where the keys would be, the parking situation and just was very friendly and accommodating. BF and I arrived at 645 pm on Friday evening, had no problems getting into our room. There are only a few parking spots for a few guest rooms, but we were able to park on premises. There is parking less than 1/8 mile away near the beach which we would have been more than fine with. There's no street parking in Spring Lake. We loved our room, it was clean (although a little chilly) and the bathroom was perfectly sized for two people. We went to Belmar for dinner (we walked as we had just sat in the car for a few hours) and then sat outside on the huge porch before heading up to bed. We got a later start in the morning Saturday (we wanted to go apple picking in Freehold, about 30 minutes away) but I stopped at the front desk to "check in" and the waitress from the restaurant wanted to know if we wanted to eat, even though she was almost done with her shift and breakfast ended at 10 (it was 950am). We thanked her profusely, but wanted to get on the road. She even offered to give us coffee and muffins to go, which was super sweet. We had a full day and came back for bed around 830pm and there was a night manager around, which we didn't see on Friday. We decided to sit on the porch again and drink the wine we didn't finish from dinner. BF ran upstairs to get a phone charger and the night manager came out to check on me, offering tea, blankets, and was just as friendly as could be. We had breakfast there on Sunday, I was really impressed with the selection of food. I've been to BnBs that only have one or two options or they put out whatever they want to serve and call it a day. You can choose from a bunch of different options. I had an omelette and BF had the pancakes. Both were delicious and the service was excellent. Was able to check out with no problems, very quick and easy. Overall, we had an excellent stay at the inn. It is old but it's quaint and charming. BF and I were the youngest people there, but we didn't mind. The other guests we interacted with briefly were friendly. I had read some negative reviews after I had booked our stay, so I was slightly apprehensive, but we had such a different experience there. I highly recommend this charming B and B. I would definitely come back.

It was the size of a teacup, if you were to close yourself into the shower you wouldn't be able to walk in it you would only be able to turn in circles. The toilet was clogged when we got there and the staff didn't fix it so I had to do it myself. Finally for the room the towels smelled like bacon, I am pretty sure that they are the same towels that they use to clean the dishes from the breakfast. Speaking of the breakfast it was god awful. I got the scrambled eggs and they overcooked half of my plate while the other half was undercooked. How do you manage to do that?! Let's just say I am never coming back after this experience.
