During prom dress shopping, the owner made inappropriate comments about my daughter's size and told her she was "too big" to try on a dress, despite wearing a size 2. We paid to try on prom dresses, only to then be told the store "isn't even a prom establishment." The owner was rude, demeaning, and unprofessional. We also paid a $50 deposit for a 90-minute appointment, were not given the full time, and were not refunded. This was one of the worst retail experiences I've ever had, and I would not recommend this store to anyone!! Try Glamor, The White Room or rent the runway. This place was amazing!!!!! My daughter was asked to prom last year as a 10th grader and I wasn't sure on how to go about finding her a dress that no one else was wearing. We I say we had been everywhere, trust me we were about to give up! My daughter decided to call her friend and her friends' older sister hold us about this place. At first I was worried because the prices were more than I could imagine spending, but we I found out that we could rent the dresses, that was a game changer. The service and attention that the staff at the showroom showed my daughter was amazing. they assured her when she tried on that one dress, that it was the one for her! I walked in with a friend and I wish I was exaggerating when I say the blonde lady behind the counter looked us up and down and told us we need a parent with us. I assumed she thought I was a child so I told her I'm a legal adult and she said "doesn't matter. you still need a parent" I knew exactly what she was implying. I didnt look the part, so my friend and I left because why would I waste my time with people like that. Well I wasted some time because I found out her name is Julia. Simply she is immature and rude. I brought my daughter here to rent a dress because we'd heard great things from her friends. I wanted to like it because clothing for teens is so expensive these days and my teenager always wants new stuff. Well first off, the selection is a little cluttered to say the least. I guess that means they have something for everyone, if you know how to navigate the jam-packed racks. The dresses all seem a little worn and dingy. Gowns with beads jammed against satin, lots of pulls on busts and hems. If you're lucky you can find one of the snooty sales girls to help you. The worst of which is the manager/owner.. the tall brunette who is mentioned in other reviews.. she was so rude and treating the customers like we were bothering her! As much as I love this business concept, it needs an overhaul. Some pretty things but we didn't end up renting anything. read more

As much as I would love to say I love the selection of dresses, the owner of this store is rude and unprofessional beyond comprehension. I rented a dress for my 39th birthday and returned it by the return date, noting that there was a piece of feather trim had been pulled off on the train. Fast forward three weeks later, I get a charge for $400 to my card on file, so I called to see if there was a mistake before disputing with my bank. The owner cursed me out saying i "ruined a perfectly good dress beyond repair" and that there were feces and urine on it. There is absolutely no way that is possible, and even if it were, that would have been noticed immediately upon returning it, not weeks later. When I asked why they hadn't contacted me prior, or sent photos or proof, she said because she doesn't have to and how dare I question their "policy". She rudely refused (even though the clerk assisting us said it would be fine), and she refused to return our deposit AND asked us never to return (so that we could not use the deposit). While DRINKING ALCOHOL AT THE REGISTER, she told us that they did not need our business. Pretentious and elitist - awful service. I went twice, looking for a dress for my step daughter's wedding. The first time I went, no one greeted me or asked what I needed - you're on your own with zero help or direction. Unless, of course, you have a reality tv show or are someone the owner knows. The first time, I chalked it up to the store being busy - which is still no excuse. Nevertheless, I went a second time and realized it was not an issue of being short staffed, but selective treatment of clientele. While I was completely ignored, a woman walked in after me, who apparently has a tv show (I don't know who she is) and the owner, Kristen, immediately swarmed to her, asked her about the event she was dressing for, pointed her to various options, etc. something she did not do with me the two times I went. In fact, I had to ask her a question about a dress and she looked at me like I was disturbing her. A complete 180 from how she was treating her "star" clients. Horrible treatment! I finally had enough of being completely ignored and left. No one said goodbye. It's like I didn't even exist. I took my business elsewhere to the Gus Mayer boutique near Green Hills and found a beautiful, elegant gown for my event. The sales agent, Wanda, was so kind and attentive. She helped me pick out the perfect gown and I'll be going back there for my next dress. The only reason I did not give the store a 1 star review is because they did have some nice dresses. I was SO excited to come here for the 1st time from out of town. As a small business owner & someone who has worked in retail & styling, this experience was extremely unprofessional & embarrassing for them. No one bothered to acknowledge me when I walked in..even though 2 workers looked at me. After being there well over 15 min & carrying 3 gowns around while trying to shuffle through the crowded racks, someone finally offered a dressing room. I believe it was the owner who eventually came up to ask if I was finding everything ok but quickly left to talk to someone about their fundraiser. Walking back into the dressing room I was scoffed at & stopped by a blonde who told me to wait my turn & that my waiting number was wrong...it wasn't but she couldn't determine a 6 from a 9. But glad you give your customers attitude like that. It would be a good start to explain the store or dressing room process to new customers, however you have to make the effort to know they're new in the first place. Finally getting into the dressing room the blonde just threw the dresses on the top rack, not even inside, & walked away without a single word. I was there alone & very visibly pregnant. No one asked if I needed help or how the dresses worked. I looked out twice hoping to catch someone to help with a zipper & new size. But were SUPER excited & crowded around whoever was attending the CMA's with a Zac Brown Band member right next to me...and the woman running a fundraiser. Leaving the dressing room I got glared at by the blonde who STILL had NOTHING TO SAY & not a word was spoken as I walked out of the store. I would have left with 2 of the 3 gowns I needed & been a returning client because the dresses were truly unique & beautiful. However, the continued pretentious attitude making me feel unimportant & complete lack of customer service or assistance steered me away completely. But hey, if you're a country singer's wife or Bachelor contestant I'm sure you'll have the best time! I also want to add that the responses from this business on google reviews are honestly appalling. It is INSANELY unprofessional to ever respond to a customer (whether unhappy or not) with rude, manipulative, dismissive remarks & childish emojis. In September, I came in to rent a dress for an event the following week. I found something I liked, and asked to put a hold on it. I made a 50% payment to place the hold, and the next day, I ended up finding something else. I emailed them asking if I could remove the hold and get the deposit back, to which they responded that they did not do refunds. I called the store, explaining that I did not understand that I wasn't just placing a hold on the dress, and requested a refund. The lady said that she was sure that would be fine, but needed to ask the owner first and would call me back. I never got a call back, and I left two voicemails, and emailed them SIX times. I just called back again, and the owner picked up the phone. She sounded frazzled and annoyed, and kept saying she didn't understand what I was asking. I kept trying to explain, and she said she was a "one man show" at that moment and to call her back in thirty minutes. She asked another question, and while I was answering, she interrupts me and said "I'm gonna have to call you back" and HUNG UP ON ME. Didn't ask for my name or phone number. I'm honestly beside myself with the way she treated me. I will not use a store credit since I'm moving out of state, and requested a refund for what I thought was just money to place a hold on a dress I never rented. I literally have no idea what the heck to do, and am still in shock with being hung up on mid-conversation. If you're renting from there, do NOT pay for something you may change your mind about and just ask them to put a hold on it, cause you will not be accommodated for any miscommunication. Really beautiful selection with a lot of different styles and colors. A little bit pricey but probably worth it for very important events. My biggest problem with the Showroom is that it is not size inclusive at all. There were very few dresses above a size 8 or a size large. I don't think I saw a single dress in XL or plus sizes. Also, even the "large" dresses ran small and fit more like a medium. I think it's not worth even going to try stuff on if you typically wear size 10 or above. read more

Rented the most beautiful gown for an event and spent less than $100. Such an amazing place, with great options, nice aesthetic, and friendly service. Rentals are slightly more expensive than Rent the Runway but you can actually try the dresses on and know the size and fit so definitely with it. I went in to The Showroom last week to rent a gown. I heard them tell someone that the rentals are usually around $75. There are no tags on the dresses so you don't really know what you are getting into until you are at the counter checking out. I was told the dress I wanted to rent was $275. I was not expecting it to be that high (and before tax) so I told them I would not be renting it. One of the other women that worked there said (to her friend)... "it's couture. She isn't worthy of that dress if she can't afford it." I was completely speechless. I have never been spoken to like that. Later, I looked the dress up and saw to purchase it- brand new was $280. So not only were they ridiculously rude but they are ripping off their customers. I went to their website to see which girl it was that said that so I could call and complain - but I discovered she was actually the owner. Extremely disgusted, insulted, and angry. I ended up buying the dress on the real website that is brand new and I can keep. read more

I was in dire need of an outfit for my holiday party that evening. I went to the showroom on my lunch break and was in and out quickly. The girls were so helpful and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. They were even so generous to not charge me to rent a bralette because they knew I was in a pinch. You can tell that they want every customer to have an amazing experience. They help style you and are honest about what looks good and what doesn't. I honestly just wanted to find something that was flattering and made me feel amazing which is rare for me. I felt really good about my rental and confident in it. The rental prices compare to Rent The Runway yet their clothing items beat Rent The Runway. I HIGHLY recommend. read more

Asked about specific size availability before making the appointment and was assured of a large selection. There was in fact a very small selection and none in the fairly large category of jewel tones. I was told more would be arriving by the owner. Found one that wasn't ideal and went to the counter as we were told we could "bookmark" it. When I asked I was aggressively reprimanded and told I could only book it, then I asked about new items coming in again and was aggressively told "it's early in the prom season" to which I replied what I had been told when booking the appointment. She then got more aggressive and said " we can't cater to everyone". At this point I was shocked at her attitude because I never raised my voice and had simply asked a question. She continued aggressively and raised her voice and told me to never come back. I asked for my deposit back and was told she wasn't giving me a dime and to get out. Within minutes they had over a dozen options pulled for me and they were all perfect and told me the person before me was a 14/16. So dont be worried if you arent a sample size!
