    Build Your Own Pita.
    Monica S.

Food: pretty decent carry-out Mediterranean food. My husband and I tried a 'build your own pita'. The pita was warmed up upon ordering and the veggies were fresh. I know that lamb is typically a salty meat, but it seemed a little saltier here. Service: My husband and I experienced limited customer service as we ordered food to go, but the service that we did experience was good. Value: one pita was about $9. Though my husband and I had a coupon for a BOGO offer, I think it's a pretty good value as they give pretty good meat/veggie portions. Location: Located on Wilson Blvd next to a Bistro. Small parking lot/very limited parking.

The family platter is huge!! It can definitely can feed more than 4 people. The green beans, chicken, and gyro meat were the best parts of the meal. The rice and potatoes were ok, I wish there was a little more to them. We got takeout but it was quick, definitely good if you're looking for a quick bite to eat.

This place was completely empty at Lunch. Bad sign. Simple Greek was a simply terrible Cava. What a wasted opportunity. There are zero authentic Greek places in this area and yet they choose to be a bowl place serving plain tasting mediocre food. Signs everywhere say changing things for the better. I find that very hard to believe but I hope so.

The Simple Greek was almost empty while the neighboring restaurants bustled with customers; I should have taken that as a sign that the 4-star Yelp average was misleading. But the menu sounded appealing, so I went in. Even though no one else was dining in when I got there, I had to scout around for a table that had been cleaned of crumbs from previous diners. I ordered a bowl with lentils as the base. The lentils looked like they'd formed a crust on top when he scooped them out of the warming pan; they'd probably been there for a while. I added falafel, some cucumber, olives, tomato, tzatziki and hummus. Overall it was just ok. The falafel didn't have that crispness with the steamy soft inside that a good, fresh one has. Maybe it had also been sitting too long. The taste of my dish wasn't bad, but it just didn't seem fresh or particularly appealing. I also ordered the Greek Fries. They were ready right away, because the fries were already cooked, being kept in a container. Maybe they were being kept warm or maybe thrown in the microwave to reheat? They were oily and limp -- you know, the way fries get when they are overdone and turn translucent and brown. Feta cheese and some barely discernible oregano were sprinkled on top. I ate about a third of the fries before I realized they were giving me no pleasure in exchange for the calories, so the rest went in the bin. Overall, The Simple Greek is not a place I'd come back to.

The food here is fine. The Simple Greek is a franchise, so they can't help the food, which is too bad, because the staff and franchisee were so friendly and nice that I wish the food was better. It's just kinda bland. I had a pita with hummus, gyro, vegetables, and feta and it was OK. I did like the Greek fries as those were crisp and tasty. The prep area was a little messy and the lettuce was browned, so that wasn't great either. I was hoping for better Greek, as there really isn't any in Arlington.

Salad with chicken gyro. The chicken gyro was a bit dry - I say go for the traditional gyro instead.

Fast-casual Greek offering up healthy salads with bold Mediterranean flavors. The Roslyn-Clarendon corridor is awash in salad joints, with new arrival Simple Greek joining Sweet Green, Chop't, Roti, Cava, and Sweet Leaf in an increasingly crowded marketplace. Simple Greek distinguishes itself with bold flavors and some unique ingredients, and has earned a place in my rotation. SG follows the standard fast-casual playbook: pick your form (pita, salad or rice bowl), your protein, then add toppings. But it offers some distinctive protein choices, like the traditional gyro, which you won't find elsewhere. The gyro is juicy and well-seasoned, and offers enough heartiness to make the salads filling. Flavorful toppings include garlic green beans, village salad (cucumber, tomato and red onion, marinated in oil and vinegar), kalamata olives, feta cheese, roasted red peppers, mildly spicy pepperoncini, hummus, tzatziki, etc. Is this the best Greek food you'll ever eat? No, but at this price point you can't expect that. SG offers healthy, natural food that's tasty and boldly flavored, served quickly and at a reasonable price. If places like this continue to displace the burger and pizza joints of yesteryear, it's all to the good, says I.

True to its name, The Simple Greek serves up straightforward Greek food that you can feel good about. Stopped by for take-out today on opening day. Decided on a bowl (you start off with either a pita or a bowl) with lentils and traditional gyro meat, garlic green beans (loved these) and selected my add-ons (tomato/cucumber mix, butter pepper and kalamata olives). Added a dolma to boot. Given that it was opening day decided to treat myself to the rizogalo (rice pudding) as well for desert which was exceptionally fresh tasting. Wow. The entire meal was great and I look forward to sampling through the rest of the menu. The gyros look and smell amazing. . . The atmosphere is clean and airy; staff is cheery; location has a parking lot; service was efficient, taking me just a couple of minutes to get through my order. Will definitely be adding The Simple Greek to my lunchtime circuit! If you are in search of a healthy whole food meal, look no further.

The customer service her was phenomenal!!! You can't beat it. It can't help that I visited right before the lunch rush which was great as I was in and out with my takeout pretty quickly. The place is spotless and the servers were more than happy to answer all my many questions and let me taste some of the optional sauces before deciding. I also like that they have a loyalty program that works with your phone number and a offer military discount. I got a bowl with mostly greens and sliced lamb which can see turning on the rotisserie. There's also a private lot with parking for patrons which I appreciated. There's also a nice selection of baklava and sweets to soothe your sweet tooth. Unfortunately, it was a full day of Keto eating for me which this totally met. I'll definitely visit again when I'm in the area.

Portions were ideal for two people and we left satisfied but not overly full, which is exactly what you want from tapas. Service was also excellent. My Chicken Kouvetsi, while tasty seemed to have not that much chicken. Many bites were just orzo and tomato sauce. I needed more chicken. The bread is complimentary and very tasty; hilariously, after we asked for more, they just kept bringing our group 2 baskets. This review sounds very negative for 4 stars, but Zaytinya is niceand the food is tasty. Just know all the above going in. It's also very noisy,to the point where it was hard to hear everyone at our table and our server had a hard time hearing us. They probably need to update their soundproofing or just have fewer tables. That actually led to some confusion about the "for the table" lamb dish we ordered, which seemed to come out as sliced lamb, seasoned as described on the menu, on a plate. Frankly, for the price it didnt seem like enough for our group of 6. Also, there were 2-3 flies around our table before we sat down. They eventually left, but that probably should signal there's more mess there than just wiping down the table takes care of.

The restaurant itself is stunning. Walking in, you're immediately greeted by the massive open hearth where much of the cooking happens. Watching the chefs tend the fire throughout the evening adds another layer to the experience and sets the tone before your first bite even arrives. Our server explained the tasting menu ($95 per person) and optional wine pairing ($75 pp), but we decided to order à la carte--and I wouldn't change a thing. We started with the Carrot Havuç spread. It was impossibly light, silky, and beautifully whipped. I'll admit, the bread seemed understated at first, but after the first bite, it became clear that the spread was meant to be the star. Every bite was packed with flavor. The lamb shish kebab was incredibly tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The Omani shrimp arrived with five enormous shrimp that were cooked flawlessly. Then came the whole roasted chicken. Watching it roast over the fire as we entered made us excited, but nothing prepared us for how incredible it would taste. It was, without question, some of the best chicken I've ever eaten. Moist, deeply flavorful, beautifully seasoned, and delicious completely on its own. It came with an accompanying sauce that was excellent, but honestly, use it sparingly--you don't want anything distracting from the chicken itself. When a dish can stand entirely on its own, that's greatness. Since it was a whole chicken, we happily went home with leftovers (which felt like winning the lottery). The cocktails deserve their own standing ovation. A special thank you to Nancy upstairs-- Great bartenders don't just make drinks--they elevate the entire experience, and she certainly did. The Serpent was beautifully balanced with bright citrus and herbal notes, while the Medina Palmer was refreshing, unique, and one of the most memorable cocktails I've had in a long time. Every drink felt carefully crafted rather than simply mixed. In the beginning of our night they asked if we were celebrating anything and I immediately answered, "my friend graduated from nursing school." Little did we know, they came with glasses of bubbly at the end of our dining experience to celebrate! Such a lovely gesture to end our evening. The word that kept coming up throughout dinner was divine. Service was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about guiding us through the menu. A few practical tips: * Reservations book well in advance, so plan ahead. * Street parking is limited. We chose to Uber and were glad we did. This was one of those meals where every course made us look at each other and say, "Wow." I can't wait to return.
