So much fun!! The class offerings were very worth it. I visited for a small galentine's celebration and we chose the string art class. Now, I will say...string art is a loud process. It's a good thing that the string art class is significantly smaller than the terrarium class, because there is A LOT of hammering. The employees are super helpful and supportive and I created a finish or diff that I'm very proud of. I love that the class is BYOB, and my favorite thing was the fact that if you don't finish in time, they send you home with extra string. I definitely needed it. Honestly, this was so much fun! We didn't exactly know what to expect or how this would go but once we got there we were glad that there was enough instruction to walk us through but also not too much that we didn't have time to enjoy and connect. We did a date night here and pre-booked/purchased through Groupon which gives a nice little discount so check that out first. It's BYOB (Wine & Beer) plus snacks so we stopped at Whole Foods (right down the block) to pick up items so we could enjoy ourselves. Make sure you bring any cups, plates, napkins, etc that you will need for your bev & food because they don't have any of that for you. The experience: It's a good offering for the price, you get to have the whole experience which is fun & creative and you get to leave with something. You pick your container from their options when you first walk in (we picked one large container and then 3 small containers) and then you get either 3 small succulents or 1 large and 1 small succulents (which are more than enough to fit in your containers) they had a variety of colored moss, color rocks, and some cute little decor items (or bring your own). It's spooky season so my friend and I decided to drop in and get crafty. You have the option to either make a succulent terrarium or string art. My friend and I chose string art. There are sample designs that are hung on the walls and on the shelves, all around for you to select from. Each design has a number labeled to represent the difficulty level (1 being the easiest). You're allowed to choose whichever color thread your heart desires. My friend and I chose a level 2 design, which was much more difficult and took longer to complete than we expected. Our session was scheduled for two hours, but the staff allowed us to stay a few hours longer to finish up our masterpieces. Jada was very friendly and remarkably helpful. I had so much fun i visited every saturday in the moth of Feb. Sara (sarah) was awesome. She was a helper as well as a leader of the classes. The other workers were great as well. The music they played was awesome and the instructions were easy to follow. They give you so many choices of plants and containers as well as choices of string art design and string color. Each person working there was very energetic and patient and kind. These ladies rock! They made the experience fun and enjoyable. I will be back because I need more artwork in my home. Okay! So my gf decided to include this as part of our Valentine's Day weekend events. Two options for this place: Build a Terrarium or create string art. There were four things that were a fail for me. 1. Do not use Waze to get here, it will take you to the wrong place. Thankfully we were only 10 minutes away from the actual location, but still. That leads me to 2. No one answers the phone, and they are VERY slow to text back. 3. Pricing. Their website says $45, but they also charge an additional $10 for materials and $4.40 for taxes, so essentially $60. Word to the wise, check Groupon, but even then the discount is not the match. So when all is said and done you are looking at around $100 for two people. 4. They don't provide the sips, you have to bring your own and at that amount, I feel they should provide some beverages. Now I know I just listed 4 negatives and you are probably asking yourself why I am giving it 4 stars, well the reason why is because is is fun! The instructor was really kind and informative. She made it a very memorable experience, and even when my gf accidently broke her glass by picking it up from the top, which you are NOT supposed to do, she was very helpful making sure that she was okay before working to clean up. The whole did not take long, maybe an hour if even, but it was really cool to take the plants and create a unique space for it. I've been working to let my internal creativity out, and this definitely was a wonderful was to do that. While I would not be back, really one of those one time hit it and quite it type things, I would definitely recommend doing it at least once, I do not think you will be disappointed! read more

Fun activity for sure! We went for a girls day, there were 6 of us (including my 6 yr old granddaughter who did her own!). The hosts were fun and played great music while we made our creations. They also lead the activity and give helpful tips to make your own design. Parking is decent and there is a cute coffee truck outside where you can grab a nice snack and cuban coffee. Music was booming the whole time, with a mixture of R&B / Soft Rock. You can choose from 1 large, 2 medium & 3 small units. You then get $12 worth of plants,$8 for a large & $4 for small. My party & I choose 3 small units (pics). Our Instructor walked us through everything & came by to check to make sure we were doing everything correctly. So I have visited this place 3 times now and everytime I do I am blown away with how amazing the staff is. They were extremely patient and helpful with the group I was with. Unique experience with great staff in a fun space!! We found this place via Facebook and Groupon. They offered both string art and succulent making classes. Since we had luggage and were traveling string art made more sense for us. It was super easy to book online for our desired class and time. They had lots of design ideas in the binder. Instructions were simple and easy to follow. Hammering out the nails was a great stress reliever!! Take your anger out on some art. This idea is also great for getting two totally different art pieces, which is great for us since we take them into the same home. Staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I have to say that the gal hosting the string art event was SUPERB! She even stayed late to ensure that we all finished our art pieces. I've done an event with The Sipping Plant before, and it was with succulents. This time around, we (a group of 9 girls) were doing string art. Materials are all provided. The class is around $30 per person if you get the group deal via Groupon (?). How it works: There's a booklet of patterns you can choose from. After choosing a pattern, you will be hammering nails onto that pattern atop a block of wood. Yes, it will be loud so bring ear plugs if you wish. Thereafter, choose the string colors you want for your pattern. Examples are along the wall if you need a visual of the finished product and/or colors. Now you start stringing and filling in your pattern. I chose the love birds, and that was easy enough. The class is 2 hours, but it's okay if you're a little over that time frame. If you just can't finish, you can go home with enough string to finish up. Psst. Choose the emoji's if you're wanting something super simple. They were added for the kiddos so you're guaranteed an easy time with that choice. Parking spaces were moderate. We came here at 7 PM so the only thing that seemed open was The Sipping Plant. If you enjoy paint and sips but are running out of wall space to hang your work, come play on the dirt and adopt a brand new plant baby. A great place to celebrate any occasion or a casual spot to meet up with friends. This place was BYOB so we brought in boba but you can bring alcohol too if you like. We booked our spots ahead of time since we wanted to make sure we secured a spot for our specific time that worked for us. Each group had their own table which allowed for ample social distancing. There were plenty of planters to choose from and everyone in our group found one that we liked. The class is step by step which is perfect since we had no idea what to do. The instructor walked us through the entire class and stopped by each table to help and make sure everything was going well. This was a fun outing, we made terrariums-- but majorly over priced. We had 50% off coupons, but after the $10 fee for materials, it came to about $35 a person. That may sound reasonable, but you could get the complete terrarium for $15 at Michaels or Hobby Lobby, dirt and a couple of small cacti from Home Depot. $20 tops. The same thing at the sipping plant is around $50 They have tables to work on and they explain how to do them, but pebbles on bottom, then dirt, then plant the small cacti (they were even stingy on those) and add plastic dinosaurs or small flamingos, doesn't need much instruction So, it was fun because I was in a group and I like my terrarium, but definitely over priced, especially when you pay full price. read more

The Sipping Plant is a fun way to try your hand at planting, and a great way to spend some time with friends/family. It is located in front of Bury the Hatchet, and they're actually joined together from within. Bury the Hatchet folks use the bathroom inside The Sipping Plant, and those in the Plant can open the doors and check out another great activity to do!! A girls day it was for us. We bought groupons and began our adventure. Our host was kind and thorough. There are many options for each step of the process, and I loved this! First you pick your terranium planting pot/vase. Options between large, small, etc. My choices are in the pictures . You then have options for succulents. Finally, you begin planting. The host guides you with the placement order, and once your plant is in, it's your time to decorate however your artistic calling desires. Many options, many tools, even some options for adding kindness or artistic rocks. Ample parking. Located in the same plaza as the Sherwin Williams. We had a great time taking our kids to make their own succulent gardens. Boys ages 10 and 11 and they really enjoyed getting to be in charge of their own gardens. Lots of choices to make with plants and containers and how you decorate it. Every step was easy to followed and there was always someone there to help if we had a question. I purchased admission for Two to the Social Terrarium Making Event via Groupon for ~$49.00; however when making the reservation on their website, they also charge a supply fee (I think that was $10). I cannot remember the name of the woman that lead the event but she was very friendly and helpful. When starting, you can choose from 1 large container, 2 medium containers or 3 small containers. Keep in mind, there is only either 1 large & 1 small plant OR 3 small plants included. If you would like more plants, it is $8 for a large plant and $4 for a small plant. The woman did a great job of explaining the steps of how to set up your terrarium. They also supply a bunch of different colored rocks and moss to help with decor. In the end, she also did a great job of explaining how to care for the succulents. I loved everything about it and I will definitely be back for the string art class they have available. read more

I don't have much of a green thumb so succulents are pretty much the only plant I have any chance of keeping alive so we figured why not build our own terrarium. Price. We purchased a groupon which was pretty cheap, but it was coupled with a registration free totaling to $35. Not a bad price. Once we arrived we were given the break down of what it included: dirt, Moss, pebbles, your choice of "vase" and plants. You can either get 1 large succulent with 1 small succulent or 3 small succulents for your terrarium. If you happened to chose a large casing, you can purchase extra. Their single plant pricing is a little pricey so I would recommend picking up another from your local Home Depot and adding it to your terrarium at a later date. Parking and location. Easy to find, located in the Sherwin Williams shopping center, and plenty of parking. Staff. Super friendly and super helpful. The ladies at the sipping plant took the time to check on every body in between every instruction to make sure everyone was building a healthy environment for their plants to live in. Tip. Bring your own snacks and beverages! You can purchase soda and water, but what's more fun then planting and wine? My friend and I had been trying to go to a make your own Terrarium thing since we found out it was a thing. We initially failed at trying to plan it with a different company, and then found the Sipping Plant on Groupon for a very good deal (especially when also using groupon coupons). The Sipping Plant's website was VERY easy to navigate and there are plenty of available date/time options. Annoyingly, in addition to the groupon cost, there is a $10 additional 'supplies charge' when booking. I really wish it were all bundled into the groupon cost or booking fee. We arrived (got a bit lost and did not arrive 15 min prior to start time as the instructions we were emailed said to do) about 5 minutes late and missed part of the introduction. We were shown where we would pick either a glass bowl, two pots, or three small glass containers. Once we got our containers we picked a seat and proceeded to eat/drink (whatever we brought, alcohol is totes fine to bring) while we got instructions on how to make said terrarium. All the supplies we needed were on the table in front of us, and we were able to walk around to see what was at the other tables for a wider selection. We were able to pick three small plants, or one small plant and one larger plant, or buy additional small or large plants (cash or card) for our creations. We were then given help/suggestions/instructions and tips throughout the process. Really cute group activity - the tables do accommodate larger groups as well. I had a few issues .. each table was six feet apart which was understandable due to covid but we where not allowed to remove our mask at our "designated tables" with our "designated family and friends".. this is also a BYOB which we did but was puzzled about how to enjoy our drinks since we had to keep mask on at all times.. but was then instructed to drink out of a straw as in "sip then cover your mouth back up" also some of the plants looked like they were dying. We were told it was due to covid and the supply of new plants was hard to get in a timely manner.
