We were so excited to try a new restaurant in Newton! This was our second attempt, first time about a month ago we couldn't get near the place! This time we got in! Maybe we shouldn't have... Lovely renovations and lots of interesting things to look at, which is good when you are waiting for an hour for your food. And the wait was not worth it! We tried a chicken empanada , which was ok but had a weird taste. We ordered the Sizzle combo for two- with grilled veggies as an up-charge, because the only other options were bean, rice or fries. I needed some veggies as I follow a mod carb diet and I tried the very dry, unappealing "dried out bread" they brought to the table. Sides came before the main meal. Like way before so I ate my overly greasy grilled veggies while my hubby ate his fries. Then the meat came over an hour later! We love bbq so we were excited but tired of sitting there. It all was underwhelming and over garlicky. Beef ribs were tough, pork ribs were not fall off the bone and we didn't try the sausage. Took forever to get check, second drink, anything. Yes we had leftover meat but I was up all night with a stomach ache and my husband didn't feel good either right after. Needless to say, this is a hard no for the future. I'm still queasy when writing this! Especially at $114 including tip with no alcoholic or specialty drinks and a 2 hour dinner ! read more

I could not wait to try the Argentinian Steak House. I was completely disappointed i wanted a good Argentinian diner and it was not on the menu. Most Sandwiches and Pizza. We ordered Skirt Steak $35.00 and a Salad $20.50 and two Milk Shakes each at $14.50. The food was OK but not worth the money. It is well overpriced and for two people in Newton NJ $90.78 plus tip $110. I will not be back at those prices. read more

It pains me to write this review. I am always excited when a new restaurant opens in Newton. The parking lot is packed every night and I am happy they are attracting customers. The remodel is stellar and the new interior is very inviting. Sadly we will not be back. Our first visit was soon after they opened, so the hiccups in service were to be expected. Food took a long time to come out. We went for lunch. We ordered some empanadas as an appetizer and they were excellent. Unfortunately it was downhill after that. My wife ordered the steak sandwich and I ordered a half portion of beef ribs with one side. My wife's steak sandwich had no more then 6oz of meat. One half of the sandwich was pure gristle and could not even be cut with a knife. My ribs were very chewy and the only seasoning I could taste was a boat load of salt. I also wanted rice and beans as a side and was informed that I could only get one side with my order because they were served family style. You couldn't put two half orders together? So much for having rice and beans. We did let the waitress know about the steak after leaving most of it uneaten and they did take it off the bill. About a month later a friend from out of town wanted to try for dinner. Against my better judgment I agreed. Empanadas again were fantastic. I decided to try the pork ribs which looked good in front of another diner. Same as last time tons of salt and dry. My wife had chicken nachos. I can't prove it but the cheese sauce looked like it came out of a jar and the rest of the nachos looked unappealing. If your queso is homemade, you need a different recipe. My friend had a pasta alfredo dish, which I couldn't understand even being on the menu. He described it as bland. We also had issues with the bar service. They had no type of whiskey at all. Tried to order cachasa but they were out of one of the ingredients. Other than the empanadas there is not much to return for. read more

The place looks nice, they puta lot of work in it. The menu is ambitious, it goes on to many directions, more of a diner menu than a BBQ menu. We started with the Mango Shrimp Salsa, sad small shrimp that had no flavor with chips from a bag. Salsa was ok, but the the chunks were so big it made it hard to dip into. We also ordered Calamari, that came well after we got the salsa. Why is there Calamari at a Argentinian steak house? Why was it the best thing we had? The entrees were huge. My friends chicken ad rib combo looked like 2 lbs of meat. But he said it was tough and flavorless. All of the meat was so tough I have to wonder what the mean by BBQ, nothing was falling off the bone. My skirt steak was also very tough, but had a some flavor. My medium rare was medium and my other friends medium was closer to well done. Very salty black beans, if they were less salty they would have been good. And sad mushy French fries. And my wife's beef ribs came out of the kitchen as Pork Ribs, the same tough flavorless ones my friend had. The table next to us ordered the Fajitas. They looked and smelled good. The Empanada also looks good. Maybe it would be better as a Mexican restaurant. read more

The hours listed online for Fridays are incorrect as they close at 9pm. I went there to eat on Friday and felt extremely rushed-by the waitstaff. They even started vacuuming as I was still eating. The food was bland-I ordered BBQ chicken and fries and everything tasted very bland without any salt. I will definitely not be going back to this restaurant. read more

The place was packed, no place to stand and wait, the entrance should be on the end by the bar, every time the front door opens the entire restaurant gets cold. All that being said the food and service was great, and the servers were very friendly, loved the atmosphere and all the cool antiques. read more

We went a few months ago at 8PM, the restaurant does not close until 10PM. We were greeted and sat very quickly. Our server took our drink order and delivered them pretty quickly. We ordered our meals, I got chicken fajitas, and my boyfriend got their pulled pork sandwich. The food came out, my food was fine, my boyfriends pulled pork was more like mush, or like the pork was put through a food processor. The ketchup was served in packets, no bottle. He was not offered bbq sauce or anything for his sandwich. Our server NEVER left his table where he was playing on his phone to check on us. I finished my drink 1/2 way through my meal and would have loved a second, but unfortunately I never got the chance to ask for a second one as our waiter was more concerned over his phone. We finished our meals and I had to ask a server to get our check. It came and when I asked for my change I was treated like I was expected to leave a 80% tip! I was really excited for this place to open since there are not a lot of bars in Newton. We will not be back due to the poor quality of the food, and the horrid service. read more

Food was decent - nothing special. The service however was horrible and why I will not be back. The server was about as unfriendly as as she could be- she is apparently unable or maybe just unwilling to smile. She barely came to our table- we would have ordered another drink if she had made the effort to come over and see if we wanted one-or anything else really. She disappeared after she brought our food and we had to get to go containers and our check from another server. We arrived at 6 and food was brought out an hour later! My husband and I came here in early January, on a Saturday around 4 pm, a bit early to beat the crowd, and we did. It was NOT busy when we arrived. After a while, someone came to take our order. It appeared to be the head waitress. She took our full order and then we never saw her again. Well, we *saw* her again, walking around, but she never came to our table again. Kinda weird to take an order and then completely forget the table exists. After about 1/2 hour - 45 minutes, I told my husband I'D go up to the bar to get our drinks.... but then I noticed the bartender walking through the restaurant, with what looked like our drinks, asking each waitress which table ordered the drinks. Of course, nobody knew but I waved him down and he was friendly and mentioned they were sitting there for a while, so he figured he'd deliver them. The drinks were very good. We would have ordered another round.... but you know....we didn't have a waitress. At this point I tell my husband we need to leave and they can eat the cost of the drink. He's nicer than me, so we didn't. I start noticing that NONE of the tables around us have had all their meals delivered at the same time. At least one or two people at each table are sitting around watching the rest of their party eat. That's a failure of the kitchen. Finally, one of the male waiters, who seemed to be waiting on EVERY table in our section asked us if we ordered a certain appetizer (which we did), HE brought it out to us, and then our dinner came out quickly afterward. The food was fine but at this point we just wanted to this extremely unprofessional and drawn-out experience to end. The table in front of us, and on both sides of us had ONE person still waiting for their food while the rest of their table was eating. We started to talk amongst ourselves about it. That's not good. Because it took close to 2 hours for our dinner to wrap up the restaurant was starting to get REALLY busy at this point and my husband and I wondered if we should warn these folks that they'd be sitting there for about 2 hours watching half their table eat while they still waited for their food. Before we left, I noticed the 'waitress' who took our order only to never return was waiting on one of the tables. So it appears she *can* return to a table, she just chose not to return to ours. Our waitress took forever to get us a drink, then ignored us for another half hour before coming to take our food order. I cant comment on the food. Didnt stay for it. my husband and I were so excited to try this place. we went on a Wednesday. We were seated quickly and were served bread and dip. The food smelled good unfortunately we never got to try it. We sat and waited for over 30 minutes for service. The wait staff walked past us and actively avoided eye contact with us. We watched as they went to all the tables around us asking them if they were okay or if they needed anything else. meanwhile we didn't even have water. it was the most uncomfortable experience and we will never be back. read more

OMG. Please read this review first before entering that establishment. My buddy and I were looking for a good steak tonight and we decided to give this place a try. BIG MISTAKE. Our server spoke almost no English at all. Just basic key words. When we were seated our server went over the beer list in a language we did not understand, we finally ordered and received our Miller Lite beers and we both ordered the 45.00 T-Bone steak MEDIUM RARE. We finished our beer and a strange woman with a pink Tiara took our bottles and never asked if we wanted another round. Our waiter brought out a basket of stale bread without butter. Our steaks finally arrived, now we know we're not at Peter Lugers but what we got was more like Waffle House T-Bone steak. No kidding the steak was 1/2" thick. Be careful you might just get a paper cut. I cut into the steak and it was WELL DONE. My buddy had just a hint of pink but certainly not MEDIUM RARE. That's all we needed to see. We paid for our drinks without ever eating a bite. Nobody seemed to care. Really. I feel this place will end up like so many before it. OUT OF BUSINESS. Don't waste your time or money. Stopped in on a rainy day, had a great steak steak, chimichuri and a delicious spicy mango margarita.

The joint was hoppin'. Atmosphere, service, food, drinks, all were really good. Enormous serving of delicious pork ribs. Generous sides of rice and beans. I had the Sandra's salad which was loaded with delicious roast chicken, avocado, bacon, tomato, shredded carrots, hard boiled egg all on a large bed of very fresh spinach. Enough for 2 meals! Tried a yummy mango-sugar cane liquor cocktail. Will definitely go back! read more
