We had breakfast at The Skinny Pancake today, and while the service was excellent--our food arrived in just six minutes--overall, it was an average experience. I was surprised to find that the menu is heavily focused on crepes, which I didn't expect (guess I should have looked at the menu lol). We got on the waitlist online (which we didn't need to do today) and you can place your order right from a QR code at your table. We tried the Noah's Ark, which came with eggs, sausage, and sweet crepes. One egg was over cooked (hard), but the sausage and crepes were good. The Breakfast Burrito, wrapped in a scallion crepe, fell flat flavor-wise. I ordered a side of bacon which was particularly disappointing--hard and tasteless. On the bright side, the coffees were fantastic. We enjoyed both the Cappuccino with a maple shot and the Mocha, which helped elevate the meal. Overall, I'd rate it a 3 out of 5. You are seated with menus but the servers do not take your order. You have online ordering or go to counter for order. Coffee comes with free refills. Coffee was very good. I ordered the lumberjack breakfast while my gf ordered ham and cheddar cheese crepe. The crepes were not as light as I would've expected. The Vermont maple syrup was good. The lumberjack also came with sausage that was very small sausage patties. Not a big fan of the sausage. The ham and cheese crepe was very good and huge! I liked the cheddar cheese on sandwich. I had a Noah's Ark - Scrambled Eggs, homemade maple sausage patty, and a Frumpled Cinnamon Crepe with real Vermont maple syrup. It was my first ever frumpled crepe, but I loved it. And I am a total sucker for real Vermont Maple Syrup. I am pretty fussy with patty sausage (I often don't like when it is too gristly). Not so with the house made maple sausage. They were pretty lean, and had a nice maple flavor. Yum. My wife had the Early Riser - Crepe with eggs and cheddar cheese (maybe Cabot cheese ??). She said both the eggs and crepe were fluffy. Service was horrible. I rarely leave a review unless it's positive but I have never been to a restaurant where none of the tables have been cleaned and they just sit that way. You order at the register first and you need to have chosen a table before sitting down. We explained all the empty tables had plates and food on them at which time she said they would clean them and just pick a number. We picked a number and saw it was busy for them so we cleaned the table off setting all the dirty plates and cups on the counter top. Two employees watched this happen and didn't assist. My husband then asked for a rag to wipe the table down to which a female employee with dark hair and glasses gave the rag to my husband and told him to make sure to give it back when he was done. I get being busy but I thought that was so weird for her to proceed to hand the rag to my husband to wipe the table down and not say let me get that really quick. On vacation and understand busier seasons but if a customer is kind enough to bus their own table don't give them a wet towel after they ask and then proceed to tell them to be sure to give it back when done. Just curious if we will be able to include this in our taxes in the upcoming 2026 year now that we have worked a table. read more

One of the best breakfast crepes and eggs that I have ever had. Eggs tasted as if they were taken from the chickens today. The maple syrup had a very fresh taste and the crepes were right off the grill. The bacon was very crispy as requested and also tasted very fresh. There is also bottomless coffee. I am honestly confused with how I feel about this place. My first impression was that they were great and efficient. I put my name on the waitlist via Google (not sure if you're able to do on Yelp), and they gave us an eta of 20 mins. My party of 8 decided to put two names down for a table of 4 each. We got there just on time and we were all able to get seated right away. Not only that, the host was able to accommodate for us, and she gave us a table for 8 people instead of 2 separate tables (I let the host know that we were happy with whichever was easier for the restaurant). She was super friendly and it made super easy for us. At this restaurant, you scan a QR code where you can order your own food items, pay for it yourself, and then have the food served to us. I love restaurants that do this because it makes the whole dining process more efficient/quicker. However, that is not the case here. At least not from my experience. We placed our orders in, but we ended up waiting 50 minutes for our food with nobody checking up on us. For waters, you have to go up to the water fountain yourself to fill up your own cup of water - they have cups available above the fountain. My friend ordered a cup of coffee, and we were shocked when one of the servers gave her an empty cup and told her to fill it up at the coffee station. I personally didn't care too much about doing those things, but it got to me when I realized how long we had waited for food. Majority of my friends also tipped 20% during the checkout process to place our order, which we thought was unfair, since there was little to no service whatsoever, and at that time, we didn't expect to wait ~50 minutes. And there is where my confusion comes into play - the food is not bad at all. We all really enjoyed the poutine - the ratio of gravy, cheese curds, and french fries was perfect without one overpowering another. The texture of fries were great as well. It is hard to eat poutine when the fries are too crispy. My boyfriend and I shared the chocolate monkey crepe and the Johnny crepe. The chocolate monkey crepe is a sweet crepe with bananas and Nutella. The texture of the crepe was great, and I really enjoyed the filling. But it was nothing special. I can get this anywhere without having to wait 50 minutes. As for the Johnny crepe, it is a savory crepe with maple bbq pulled pork, caramelized onions, and a side of bbq sauce. This one I will wait 50 minutes for. The Johnny has got to be the best savory crepe I've ever had!! I HIGHLY recommend this. Home fries were great as well, and my Arnold Palmer was refreshing. Overall, I don't know if I missed a memo or something, but this brunch experience felt really unorganized and discombobulated in terms of what is expected from the staff and the customer. With all that being said, I would come back whenever I am in Stowe, but it wouldn't be a priority unless I had ample time to spare. read more

While waiting for food we ask employee if there is tomato in the SP sauce on burger, he never asked kitchen - we get food and it has ketchup on it, GF gets violently ill from tomato's, we ask for a remake, they screw up remake and we sit for 10 minutes waiting for pickles and onion jam that they left off because, honestly kitchen was pissed , but said pickles could have tomato... seriously. The food here is really good. I highly recommend dropping by for breakfast or lunch before hitting the ski slopes. I had both the Veggie Monster and the Apple and Brie on different days and my husband had the Breakfast Monster and Breakfast Burrito and all 4 dishes were delicious. Their bottomless brewed coffee is great too. Service can be a bit slow during rush hour so be prepared (maybe not great if you're in a rush). The food was delicious, however we had to wait 40 minutes to get our drinks (two lattes) and 90 minutes for food after sitting down at our table. There was only 1 employee working the entire bar/coffee area for the whole restaurant, 1 front of house employee who acted as hostess, food runner, dishwasher, and took orders at the bar, and only 2 employees in the kitchen. Either their manager has no idea how to staff a restaurant or a bunch of people called out sick that day. I felt bad for the employees who were clearly doing the job of at least 2 people each. We got very lucky and scored a reservation at this nice little creperie in Stowe on short notice as they were turning walk-ins away the day we went. Place has a "fast-casual style" of order at the counter or by phone at your table and then the food is delivered to your table. In other words, they don't have traditional waitstaff. If you want more coffee, you get up and go refill your cup. Crepes were decent, coffee was great, whipped cream was delightful and my kids really enjoyed the hot cocoa. Our friends tried Skinny Pancake in Burlington so we wanted to try it while in Stowe! We came on a Saturday afternoon and founds lots of seating inside and out, and chose to sit on the patio as we had our dog with us! The service was wonderful and embodied that Stowe hospitality we found everywhere we went. Their menu is quite vast with lots of options for everyone, including our friend who was vegetarian. We tried the poutine and vegan poutine, both extremely delicious. The savory crepes were amazing - we had the Johnny crepe and the cheesy chicken pesto crepe. Both were extremely large and definitely leaves you super full! I even took part of mine to go! Our friend had the smash burger which came with fries - he only wished the burger was a little bigger, as it isn't as filling. While the food was perfect overall, it is a tad pricey (hence the 4 stars). However, overall, this was a wonderful spot and we would definitely come back here again! read more

The ramble: the bread was hard to take a bite (maybe over cooked), the ham was thick cut and unevenly distributed so I ended up taking it apart and trying to put it back together. I thought the atmosphere was really nice, and there was a nice hustle and bustle from people picking up to-go orders. I dined in and sat at a table, and had to get up from the table to order at the register. The COVID protocols seemed well followed and everything was really clean! The staff were awesome and very attentive. One thing that always makes me want to return somewhere is when it feels like a nice friendly hometown atmosphere. The manager here was having a nice conversation with one of the younger servers and checked in about how his basketball game went the night before. This seems like a really awesome local small business where the employees and customers are really cared about. The staff absolutely seemed on the younger side but I love that this place is hiring young kids for their part time jobs Our heartbreaker crepe was delicious, and we also had a chocolate chip orange muffin which was warm and fresh. The COFFEE WAS SO GOOD. I would have taken some of the beans home if I thought of it before I left. We tried the Skinny Pancake while visiting Stowe and we were glad we gave it a try. We ordered a standard breakfast with the Noah's Ark and then tried three different crepes. We ordered two savory options (Lumberjack and Crepe Monsieur) and one sweet (Heartbreaker). If you love crepes, this is the place for you! We are not huge fans, but it was a fun brunch. We especially liked the Crepe Monsieur made even better with their house salsa which was spicy. We really wanted to love the Heartbreaker, but there was not enough fruit to make the hazelnut spread balanced. If you are vegan or need gluten free options, they have items on the menu or easy substitutions. The service left something to be desired. It was great to be able to review the menu and order and pay from the app, but the tip was given in advance and the staff certainly didn't earn it. This place is running more like a fast food counter with very little support from team members. We had to ask for missing items a couple of times. We are giving grace with our rating because we are in midst of a pandemic, but outside pandemic, this might be 3 stars since we were basically ignored from entry to exit. read more
