Peek a Bowl delivers in abundance of Asian flavors, great quality food, cozy atmosphere & good service. Seems to be quite popular as well because it became ridiculously busy after we arrived. Oh boy were we hungry especially after a 4 hour hike. And oh boy did we eat good. A big thank you to the wonderful staff at Peek A Bowl for a great culinary experience. Looking forward to a return visit. Wanton Nachos Topped with cooked shrimp, a delicious mango salsa, edamame, fried shallots & spicy mayo. Absolutely delicious appetizer to start with. An explosion of Asian flavors coupled with that incredible crunch from the freshly made wanton chips Beef Special Perfectly cooked beef with your choice of sauce. We went with the garlic sauce. Salmon Special A very generous peace of salmon with your choice of sauce. Highly recommend the garlic sauce

I've been here a few times for takeout sushi in the past, and more recently I've eaten at the restaurant itself with my boyfriend. We made a reservation maybe 30 min before going in as our previous dinner plans didn't work out. Very busy restaurant, but we were seated right away. Their dining room is divided in two parts, one with the bar and some tables & chairs; the other side has a long bench along the walls all around. Definitely try to be on the "bar side" if you can; we were seated on the "bench" side and it just wasn't as pleasant. I was sitting on the bench and it was just very dirty, with food and hair on it and food scraps and even utensils on the floor around the tables. The restaurant is very kid-friendly, and I understand the staff is busy but I just think that cleaning around tables is essential, especially when families were seated there, because kids are messy. We shared a couple of appetizers and they were very good. Cocktails are also excellent! Boyfriend had the chicken teriyaki and liked it, but found it a bit dry. We had some sushi - even though I should have known better, because I've had their takeout before and never really liked it. Boyfriend only eats nigiri - he had the smoked salmon one and said it was not good at all. I had a salmon roll served with lemon on top - the lemon was too ripe and soaked the fish which was weird. Also had an eel roll, which was kind of tasteless. All pieces were huge and I couldn't finish - I took the leftovers back to our hotel but ended up tossing it - super unusual for me as I *always* end up eating my sushi leftovers later in the night. Service was excellent, our waitress was super efficient and friendly. Overall we would come back, but I don't think I would ever have sushi here again. I'd go for cocktails and to try a bunch of appetizers.

The quality of sashimi is unparalleled (especially for the area). The tempura is not heavy or greasy. The grilled lamb chop was amazing. Each week it's a new surprise menu! Kitsune is back at Talta Lodge summer 2023! Every Thursday from 5:30pm-8:30pm on the Talta lawn for the Little River Summer Series, an outdoor event featuring Kitsune menu, beer tent, live music, lawn games, fire pits, stream to wade in, and gourmet s'mores by La Shack. Family friendly and even (leashed) dog-friendly event. No tickets or fee to enter! Fridays and Saturdays from 5pm-9pm back in the downstairs lounge space - reservations recommended. For the past winter (Oct2022-Mar2023), Kitsune was located as a pop up on Thu, Fri and Sat at Talta Bluebird with a limited number of tables. Reservations are recommended for the sit down dinner on Thursdays. And your liquor tab will be charged separately - Talta keeps these funds but the tips do go to the Kitsune crew. Fridays and Saturdays are a limited bar menu. There is some take out available.
