Great atmosphere for family fun. The pickle pizza is very unique, we really liked it a lot and will definitely be back again.

The kiddos love it, the pizza is some of the best in town, and the beer is cold. We loved it.

So, I'm in town and have time to kill. I hear an ad on the radio about The Sk8 so swing by on a…read moreSunday. It's early, they don't open until 2pm. So I come back later and it turns out to be a stellar decision! What a nice rink! The place is clean and well lit, the skates were pretty good for rentals (I'd left mine at home - dang it!), and the staff was super-friendly. There was a staff member skating at all times, so the kids were watched over. The music was a nice mix of radio hits, both pop and country, with a few throwbacks in there once in a while for the old folks like me. High five to the DJ! The snack bar served regular rink food. Nothing too healthy, so I didn't partake, but they had plenty of choices at reasonable prices. Overall, I had a wonderful afternoon working a blister onto my right foot (my own darn fault)! Wish we had a place like this at home. I'd be a card carrying regular.

Had a bad experience here, but the management team seems to be willing to discuss the shortcoming…read moreand improve. It's worth giving them a chance. Overall, this is what I believe must happen to make this place more inviting and help it thrive: Things the the Sk8 does right 1. The skates are in good shape. They are sanitary and look to be well kept. 2. The floor guard was a good hire; he cares about the kids and adults alike. He wants to help in any way he can. 3. The pricing is reasonable for the most part. I believe admission is a bit high, and their should be another tier for those without skates who are coming in and not renting. This is a business model decision by the owner, though. 4. The arcade is a nice addition to allow those who can not skate for any reason to enjoy themselves still. 5. The floor itself is well kept and smooth. I have been on some very bad concrete skating rinks, this is not one of them. Things that need work: 1. Show a more direct sign with full dress code, no profanities etc. maybe place this on the counter. Have employees always verify before allowing admission. Make sure everyone, the floor guard, etc, are all checking this dress code and address issues as soon as they're seen; our group made it 30 minutes before anything was said. 2. If a large group comes in, and someone is unstable to skate due to the rentals being unavailable in that size, allow them to watch without full admission. Maybe half admission, after verifying they do not have their own skates. 3. Place a rules poster outside of the door to make sure things are seen before even entering the establishment. Not everyone checks the website. 4. Do not get frazzled with customers as easily. Eventually we were apologized to, which helps. We felt attacked and that was not OK. I feel that it was a heat of the moment thing, but still worth mentioning. 5. Possibly change the music. Rockstar by post Malone may be on the radio, but the topics of the songs seem very inappropriate for the environment that is desired. I know kids like this type of music, but even edited, talking about "popping pills" shouldn't be acceptable.

An amazing experience overall! Perfect? Not quite - but worthy of 5 stars anyway…read more The good/great: The games! Holy cow! Most of the video games are free to play during your stay. It's awesome. There's a huge selection of all the old classics (Joust, Dig Dug, Pac Man, all the Donkey Kongs, Paperboy - you name it!). Even if you play them all just once, you'll kill a lot of time. Some of the higher end games cost a token or two - that's fine by me, I get it. All the pinball games require tokens - also fine, as the tokens are fairly priced. I LOVE pinball, so I made the rounds playing all my favorites (notably Fishtails, Funhouse, and the KISS pinballs). I felt like a kid in a candy store on a shopping spree! The not so great: We ordered food and it was kinda "meh". The fried food looked and tasted like it was cooked in old, expired oil. Gross. The chicken tenders were overcooked. I hope this was a one-off. The people working there were super friendly and helpful. It's kind of located in a strange part of town, but don't let that stop you from going! Try to get there when it opens so you can have the run of the floor for a while. It can get busy!

Classic video games like Pac-Man that kind of stuff. There are tons of pinball machines which you have to pay to play. Most of them are one token but there's one special one that's five tokens. One token=$1. There's also a bunch of outside patio games that you can play. We actually came because they were playing bingo, which is also free to play and it was really fun. Started at 7:00 and had actual prizes that you could win. We got a gift card for five dollars that you could use for food or drinks. The french fries at this arcade/bar. We're actually some of the best I've had in a long time you can tell they're definitely fresh cut and cooked when they order them. I had the chipotle burger, and it was really good and one of my party had the mushroom Swiss burger and loved it and we also got the nachos. It's a little bit more expensive than a casual sit down, but the atmosphere was fun. Wheelchair accessibility: everything was really open and there was a nice long steady ramp up to the front door. There was a zero rise entry and the bathroom was pretty good. The soap was a little bit high. There is no seating that is not barstool height in the front where the bingo was and so that would be difficult, but there is some seating on the patio that's accessible. The games are all old-school cabinet style games and so it would be a little bit high for someone in a traditional wheelchair.
