I've dined at the Slider House a few times. It's overall a solid place to be. The employees are all incredibly friendly and helpful. The slider choices are varied and unique. Is $18 + tax and tip a reasonable price for two sliders and a side? To be honest, in this part of town, yes. Due to high operating costs, I think they genuinely can't charge too much less than that. Super casual joint in Midtown that has a neighborhood bar feel to it. Their Slider options are vast, unique & really yummy! They let you mix & match so you can sample a variety. Bonus! Service is good too. It was a quiet Monday night when we stopped in & our server Kaylee was super sweet & personable. As you would suspect, they serve sliders of all different types from beef, chicken, pork and even fish. You can get an individual slider for $7, or make a meal out of it with 2 sliders with a side. The Slider House is a sports bar, so TV's are on all the walls, so not a bad seat in the house when a game is on. Note that this spot is the local Detroit Lions bar, so plan accordingly on game days! We went with the meal option and got two sliders and a side. I got a beef slider, The Old Hickory, a chicken slider, Southern Comfort and a side of onion pedals. Meal total was $17. The sliders were decent with the Southern Comfort being my fav. The Sriracha Honey glaze made the sandwich! I was disappointed in the onion pedals, as while I can appreciate a light dredge/batter, these pedals were barely coated and some pieces were not coated at all. Before our sliders, we started with the buffalo chicken dip. The dip was tasty, just enough heat and thick. The chips are the house made potato chips, and while good on their own, not my favorite vessel for the dip. Drink wise, they have a full bar with several specials, beers on tap, cocktails, etc...we got a beer and I ordered a Gin and Tonic. My first G&T was solid, but my second was rough. I cannot pinpoint what it was, but it did not taste like a G&T. I confirmed it was what was made, and was assured, which just made me a question it a tad more. Service was a bit hit and miss as well. Our server was friendly, but not super attentive with drinks/refills. Overall, the experience, food and service was just "ok". Nothing terribly wrong or really outstanding. By far the best food we have had since we arrived 3 days ago! We had the Buffalo chicken dip and 2 slider plates (with 2 sliders each) and Parmesan fries. Everything was delicious! The service was great as well. Taking a star off due to the price of my one tiny drink (grey goose lemonade), which was $12.50 and mostly lemonade. I was looking for an affordable lunch spot to meet up with my friend who lives on Division and I settled on The Slider House on Friday. Who doesn't love a good burger and when they are sliders, you get to sample a little bit of everything! We arrived at The Slider House at 10:50 AM but they weren't open yet. So we sat on the patio and saw someone else walk up at 10:59 AM and be let in, only to be turned away because they weren't officially open yet. They didn't unlock the doors until about 11:05, but whatever... Upon being seated, our order was taken promptly and our drinks were refilled. I have no complaints about the service. The menu had ample choices of beef, chicken, pork, and fish sliders. It was actually a little overwhelming and reminded me of various taco shops around Nashville. Everything sounded so good, I didn't know what to get. I eventually settled on 3 sliders because I was really hungry. I ordered the All American (grilled beef, cheddar, red onion, tomato, pickle, lettuce & garlic aioli on a white bun), The Italian Job (grilled beef, salami, provolone, arugula, tomato, banana pepper, balsamic glaze & garlic aoili on a white bun), and Black & Bleu (grilled beef, bleu cheese crumbles, grilled onion, tomato, bacon and blackened sauce on a white bun) with a side of Parmesan fries. My favorite was The Italian Job. The All American was a close second. My least favorite was the Black & Bleu. The Italian Job really had a nice blend of all the flavors for that theme. Across all of them, the patties were a little overcooked and dry but the toppings are what saved the burgers. The All American is exactly a miniaturized version of the classic burger. The only thing missing was ketchup but a quick squeeze of the ketchup bottle on the table remedied that issue. The Italian job was a nice blend of everything that made it "Italian". I really like arugula, as it provides a nice earthy flavor on top of the tang from the salami, banana pepper, and balsamic glaze. The Black & Bleu is a burger with flavors I normally like but the bleu cheese was really overpowering. There was way too much bleu cheese crumbles on it and that's all I could taste. The Parmesan fries had a nice sprinkling of Parmesan flavoring but the fries themselves seemed a to be on the "lower quality" spectrum. I'm used to fresh cut fries and these were anything but. These were more like cafeteria fries. It's not bad and definitely edible, but a lot of restaurants serve better fries than these. Overall The Slider House is a decent lunch spot. It's kind of pricey given what I ordered and it filled me up pretty quick. Next time I'll order 2 sliders instead because 3 is too much for lunch. read more

Also, I looked at the menu and saw they had fried green tomatoes and needed some in my life. I went with the full southwest chicken salad. I should have probably gone with the half, because the full was incredibly large and my boyfriend ate about half of it. He got a 2 slider plate and enjoyed it. Slider house is a very fun and straightforward concept, they've got lots of options for beef, chicken, pork, fish and veggie sliders which can be paired with fries or a salad. Their truffle parm fries are sooo good, they come out hot and crispy with just enough decadent truffle and cheese flavor. For me, every slider I've tried has been just okay, never outstanding. The beef tends to be dry and unflavored, the grilled chicken was so dry I could hardly chew it. My biggest gripe is with the service though. Every time I come here our server is absent, and we can never find anyone to ask for refills or condiments or anything outside of just placing our order and getting the check. Been here at least 8 times in the last year, usually to watch live U of Michigan sports with other Michigan alumni. Always super cool bartenders and staff who make you feel like a local, even if you're not. I love their quality twin dart board setup with competition style boards, decent house dart sets, and even an elevated stage with a built-in stop for your forward foot. Most of their impressive selection of beers (usually 100+ choices) are in cans, and they all come with complimentary (and often commemorative) koozies - a nice touch. They usually have one or two local beers on draft, but the vast majority are local craft brews in refrigerated cans, which is totally fine with me. If they have Chili ($5), try it - it's actually quite good for restaurant chili. Their Pub Style Nachos ($10) come on homemade potato chips instead of corn tortilla chips - a little odd, but not bad once you know what to expect. I love their Champagne Of Beers Cheese Dip which makes an appearance on their Nachos - I always ask for extra... And I'm a big fan of the Garden And Grain Salad ($11) which is a good size and always well balanced. Their Wings (8 for $12) are solid - just make sure they don't overfry them. And if Fried Green Tomatoes ($8) are your thing, you can find them here. Fries are shoestring and cooked perfectly. There are many condiments you can choose as well. They also have several sauces you can try for the fries. Try the "horny". - really great tasting and has a horseradish bite.
