Great dinner at Butchertown Hall! We had called for a reservation and there was a mix-up upon arrival but the host flexed and made it work for our party - we were super appreciative! Our server was excellent, too, so appreciated the great service throughout. Between three of us, we split the Brisket Nachos (THE BEST), the Bavette "Arrachera" (fantastic - and the house-made tortillas are SO good), and the Roasted & Shaved Street Corn (very good). Everything was packed with flavor, great portion sizes, and it was enough that we left very satisfied. We were seated in the courtyard area - the heaters were very nice. There were several families with young children and a girls night out that was quite loud, so it was not the most laid back vibe out in that area, but we were glad to be seated despite the reservation hiccup. There was a good amount of outdoor seating, as well. We'll be back next time we're in town!

Corn, Baked Potato, 22 OZ PORTERHOUSE

Last night a friend visiting from New York and I stopped into Butchertown Hall craving some serious meat, and this place delivered. We ordered the Porterhouse and the Bavette, and both were seasoned beautifully with their house chili-and-coffee style rub. The wood-fired sear was perfect, the flavor was on point, and both steaks came out cooked exactly as ordered. For sides, we tried the Mexican street corn elote, brussels sprouts, and a baked potato. The sides were solid overall -- nothing bad, nothing amazing -- though the baked potato was pretty forgettable. My only real call-out is that the Porterhouse was a bit thinner than I prefer, especially at an $80 price tag. Also, my friend mentioned the wooden chairs weren't the most comfortable. All that said, the steaks themselves were fantastic, and I'd come back just for that seasoning and grill char alone.

So to start off, we made our reservation at 2pm thinking that would be lunch but we were surprised to find that they were still serving brunch. They informed us that lunch didn't start until 4pm, but maybe they meant dinner? Not a big deal but something i'd like to know before visiting. The service was pleasant, and we were glad to have made the reservation as they seemed both busy & understaffed. The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely. I enjoyed the theme & decor. Our guacamole was absolutely delicious. We knew then, we had made that right choice. The barbecue was phenomenal we had chicken, beef, pork tacos, salads and it was all devine! Looking forward to returning for dinner.

Came here for dinner last night and had the best experience. First of all, I loved the dark ambiance inside. It really set a nice, elevated vibe. Our server immediately greeted us and brought us jugs of water. When she came back she took our drink orders and was able to help with recommendations. We also ordered our appetizers at that time. For appetizers we got the oysters and the queso. I wasn't a big fan of the oysters but omg the queso was soooo goood. My friends and I all inhaled it. As for entrees, 3 of us split the tomahawk ribeye (33oz) and got a side of corn, brussel sprouts, and fries. Everything was 10/10. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and the corn and brussel sprouts were seasoned great. The brussel sprouts were slightly spicy but not too much. Drinks were super good too. I definitely recommend this place

Went here on a last-night whim for date night, and what a great find! Pro tip: make a reservation if you want to sit inside. We ended up outside in the heat, but the experience was still so lovely thanks to the amazing service (seriously, they checked on us constantly and were so kind). The food was delicious (that steak + fries were so good), drinks were spot on, and the whole place has super cute decor/vibe. We'll definitely be back, next time with a reservation to enjoy the inside!

Butchertown Hall, an elevated barbecue and new American staple in Germantown, is situated in a beautiful and historic brick building at the corner of Van Buren and 4th Avenue. With a name like Butchertown Hall, you expect a lot of meats and a fairly grandiose dining area, both of which are present here. The menu, which is a mix of Tex-Mex, barbecue and new American features your standard variety of meats from brisket to pulled pork, combined with classic burgers, entrees and sides, offered alongside a small selection of tacos and Tex Mex inspired dishes such as queso and street corn. And all of this is paired with hand crafted cocktails, and local beer/wine. Before diving into the food and drink, I do want to brad on the space itself. The walk up is uneventful and doesn't do the full space justice, but once you come up those stairs, it's over! The patio is excellent with a combination of standard and casual seating, additionally there is a gorgeous covered dining room with six tops and picnic tables. If outside isn't your thing, the dining room inside is gorgeous from floor to vaulted ceiling! Now that I lived on the space, on to the food...which if I am being honest, was just okay. The vibes, decor and service outshined the food and drink sadly. While there was nothing wrong per se, there was also nothing amazing with what we had for dinner or drinks. Everything we had, from cocktails to queso to the burger seemed to be missing something. Everything was slightly bland and again, just okay. To start our night, we had the queso, which featured chorizo. The queso was good, but the homemade chips were the highlight. Next we both went with the burger, he got fries and I opted for the street corn. Both burgers were cooked as ordered, but both lacked seasoning, so the meat was one note. In stead of mayo, a spiced or seasoned sauce or aioli may accompany the burger better. The fries were shoestring and fried well, and the corn was honestly our favorite dish of the night. To wash it all down we grabbed a couple of cocktails, the Pancho & Lefty and Foxglove. Both were underwhelming and one-note in flavor. Our server, Allie (sp?) was excellent. She was upbeat, friendly and helpful from the time we were sat to tone time we left! Overall, we were not blown away by the food/cocktails, but we really enjoyed the atmosphere, vibes and service...so we will certainly be back. There were several other things on the menu that caught our attention, so we are hopeful for a better culinary experience next visit, whether it be brunch or dinner!

The team at Butchertown redid their menu about a week and a half ago, and now have a few more Asian inspired items and vegetarian options on the menu! The birria dumplings were really good and my group also really enjoyed the new rice pudding!

This is a happening spot in Nashville! Both walking up, and walking in, you are hit with great vibes, music, and that tucked away in a neighborhood feel that just endears a local place to you. I came with a group of colleagues that I was visiting for the weekend for both work and fun, and this was our first dinner stop. Our server stayed on top of things, and we didn't have much in the way of complaints. Comparing the food and drink, I would say this place excels at their apps and small bites as well as their cocktails. We each ordered a drink, and right now I can't remember the name of mine, but definitely remember thoroughly enjoying it. We also got some chips and both queso and guacamole to snack on at the table, as well as their wood-fired oysters. I'm not an oyster person generally, I did try one, and I imagine that an oyster person would have very much enjoyed it, but it just cemented my feelings as far as the texture are concerned... haha. We opted to do our dinner family-style, ordering a few appetizers, a collection of meats, and a couple of sides. Thinking back on the meat-stravaganza, I enjoyed the strip steak the most. It's served with some crispy fries and a side salad - and is plenty of food to share. After that I would say was the sausage and brisket, though neither one would make it onto any top BBQ experiences list for me. The smoked turkey, was unfortunately a total miss. Did not get any real smoke flavor, and it was too dry to enjoy. In fairness to all BBQ places, one of the hardest parts of being in that business is preserving meat and not letting that happen. I understand. Other than the fries, the sides were not super memorable for me. The street corn is something I'll order just about anywhere, but this one didn't pop and make me want more than a couple spoonfuls. Needed more zest, more taijin and lime, maybe more blistered bits of corn. The brussel sprouts were pretty good, but didn't put me in full gobble em up mode. We did finish with some cream filled churros that were excellent! Overall, I think this is a good spot to bring a group. I bet the smoked meats will vary mostly on how good a job the team that day is doing preserving freshness or how often they are being ordered. Anything grilled to order seems like a hit. Thanks for a nice evening!

After a busy day in Nashville, we headed to Butchertown Hall for dinner. We started with the Oysters and Butchertown Queso. The queso was a hit. For my entree, I split the 33 oz Tomahawk Ribeye which was delicious. We split it 3 ways with a couple sides and it was good amount. The Bride had the Texas Wurst and was unfortunately underwhelmed with the size of the portion.

This was my first time dining here and they had me at the queso. It's the perfect appetizer. I had the strawberry daiquiri as a drink and the burger as my entree. The staff was very attentive and friendly. They also have a really good happy hour.

Great place for brunch for sure. Service was very good. All the staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. They have a big inside seating area and they also have a big patio for the summer. They also have heaters they use on the winter. The drink menu has good selection and the cocktails I had were very delicious. The food was really good. I had the huevos rancheros. Overall it's a good place but a little on the pricey side but not bad.

The food here is soooo delicious - it was hard to choose what to get because it all sounded so good, too. Options are also great for gluten free folk (their sauces are gluten free)! Ambiance is cute, stylish, clean (check out the photos of the outside and inside). The service was good - occasionally slow but I attribute that to how busy the restaurant was. If I lived in the area I would absolutely visit for good bbq and sides!

Do they offer happy hour on Fridays?

Last time I was there, they had suspended happy hour and added a fair amount of outdoor seating due to Covid-19. Ordinarily they do.

Is there typically a long wait for dinner on a Friday night? We are a party of 6 and hoping to eat around 7:30-8:30.

This time, we switched things up and hit it for lunch instead. Good call. We grabbed seats at the bar, where Todd was holding down the fort. The guy was outstanding. Drinks never sat empty, food came out smoothly, and he somehow managed to be attentive without hovering over us every five minutes asking if everything was okay. My wife started with the Nashville Margue, which goes down way too easy for something packing moonshine. Light, refreshing, and carrying enough kick to remind you you're in Tennessee. Then Todd introduced us to a Bloody Mary made with a new pickle-infused vodka. Now, that sounds like one of those ideas that should either be amazing or a complete disaster. Turns out it's amazing. My wife loved it so much she's already talking about coming back tomorrow for another one. For food, we started with the pretzels and beer cheese. Simple. Warm. Soft. Salty. Exactly what you want while settling into a Nashville afternoon. Nothing fancy, just done right. Then I went all in on the mac and cheese topped with Nashville hot chicken. Yee Haw. Creamy mac and cheese. Crispy chicken. That signature Nashville heat. Comfort food with a little attitude. Just the way it should be. The best thing about The Stillery is that it knows exactly what it is. Good food. Good drinks. Good people. No gimmicks. No trying too hard. Just a fun place to sit down, relax, and enjoy yourself. Fifteen trips to Nashville (together) and it's still one of our first stops. That's probably the strongest review I can give. Five stars.

Hot honey fried chicken with greens - sweet heat done right, crispy outside, juicy inside... no notes. And shoutout to Taylor, who absolutely carried the experience. These are simply phenomenal and are delicious even without the aioli. I would order these as my main dish and hoard them all to myself, haha But I did not know this at the time so I also ordered the Turkey and brie wrap (pinewood roasted turkey, brie, garlic aioli, arugula, cranberry chutney, flour tortilla, came with salad). This was just OK - there was too much sauce on my wrap (honestly, my fault, I only like the tiniest smear on sandwiches and I forgot to ask for it on the side). The salad was heavy on the vinaigrette, to the point where the lettuce was wilty and droopy. Everything tasted fine though. The ambiance is cool, there is a bowling alley in the back, and the main dining room has tall ceilings and kind of reminded me of an airplane hangar. Our server was friendly, but she was given a huge table of people that had small kids with them and they were taking all of her time with a million questions so for a while I wondered if we were ever going to be able to pay and leave. Normally sitting and chilling out is no problem but we had to be on the road and a storm was coming so I was a little more on edge this time. Oh also lunch here is EXPENSIVE. It was almost $80 for two people and nothing we ordered was the most expensive dish. Just be aware.
