Pulled chicken, chicken wings, jalapeno/cheddar sausage b Mac n cheese, cornbread, Cole slaw, cucumber salad
Eric C.

As said by one of the people in our party, its pretty mid. Had a chance to try most of the sides and the meat because of the size of our party. The good to very good: Pulled chicken - good flavor! Jalapeño cheddar sausage - very good flavor! Cole slaw Mac n cheese Cucumber salad was good Kids meal gluten free bar was very good The medium: Nashville hot chicken sandwich and fries. Fries were seasoned well. Where was the Nashville hot sauce Tried regular wings and hot wings. Both average. The bad: Ribs were dry and lacking flavor Brisket was very fatty. Burnt ends were doused in sauce and didnt have enough meat. Flavor was overpowering and not in a good way with all the sauce/seasoning. Cornbread was dry and a bit hard. Cool that they offer kids meals with BBQ but the ribs chosen were dry and the fries came out under done and room temp. Not as crispy or flavorful as the adult meal fries. All in all, a very "mid experience".

Customer service was meh. We were seated and waited. No one came by to at least tell us that they'd be with us or will come take our order soon or anything like that. We saw a sign on the table about ordering on the app so we figured maybe we are supposed to order on the app. Not too busy, normal chatter for a bbq joint, a few office workers and small families were dining. During our weekday lunch, we got chicken with 2 sides, Texas toast and Mac n cheese. Chicken and Mac n cheese were good.

This continues to be the best location of the bunch. The drinks are never perfect, but they are well done. We always start with the wings. The ranch is like nothing I have tasted. For entrees with go with the pulled pork, brisket, and the ribs. They are all outstanding. The hot streak is my favorite bbq, and the sweet victory is my wife's fav. I've never made it to dessert but I'm sure they're excellent. The service is OK, I'm not sure on the 3% kitchen fee. I feel like that should be an option, not a necessity. For that reason, and that reason alone, I've changed this rating to 4/5.

Good wings and friendly service. Relaxed and family friendly atmosphere. The fries had something like a hot cheeto dust sprinkled on them, which was different for me. Service was a bit slow, but good food.

Pulled pork sandwich and baked beans

We ordered BBQ delivery from this establishment. I wish I could give a good report about the pulled pork sandwich but cannot. While the sauces were interesting, and I requested 3 which arrived in thimble sized portions to taste the variety, the basic problem was dried out meat. The first bite was ok, but the interior of the sandwich was dry--and I did not finish it. The base for good BBQ is moist, tender meat, and what I received had lived under a heat lamp until it expired. I've been to dozens of bbq joints, big and small, New England to Texas, so I know of what I speak (check my earlier reviews). The bun was fluffy, the baked beans quite tasty, but the main event was disappointing.

Located in Boston's nice Seaport neighborhood, I enjoyed the ambiance of this decently-sized restaurant. Service was really friendly as well. Ordered the Pit Boss - 3 meats (brisket, burnt ends, hot links) and 3 sides (mac & cheese, fries, texas toast). I wanted to get Brussel sprouts but they were out at the time. Although, I do wish I got cornbread instead of the toast since it looked like the brisket already came with a slice. Loved the brisket and hot links. I think it's my first time trying burnt ends and I thought they were just alright. Out of the three sauces they had, my preference would be that I would go Sweet Victory (1st). Hot Streak (2nd), Gold Medal (3rd ironically).

Wow! What a great surprise for our first night in Boston. We walked over to the restaurant after signing in to our hotel early on a Sunday night, so It was not very crowded. Friendly staff made us feel welcome and the restaurant itself is casual and comfortable. Then came the food! Another wow! We loved the hot chicken sliders, the barbecued chicken sandwich, the fries - crisp and good; the cole slaw very tasty; the smoked chicken - "outstanding"; the cornbread "over the top'' the full slab or ribs - "amazing" and the beans - "excellent". A flight of local ryes was also a hit. Clearly we enjoyed ourselves.

I'll preface this review by first saying that I LOVE the FOOD at the Smoke Shop BBQ. Usually, I get one of their combo plates; either the Pit Boss or the Pit Crew. My favorite meat is easily their brisket or burnt ends. Their BBQ is always so flavorful and the meat is nice and tender. Their wings are really tasty as they're smoked and tossed in a sweet yet spicy sauce. I've never been disappointed by the food, it's always delicious! I've been to this location a handful of times as well. On my most recent visit, I was incredibly disappointed by the service we got. Reading some recent reviews it seems like other Yelp-ers have had some disappointing experiences with the service as well... so perhaps it's something with this location. We went to the Smoke Shop on a Saturday at around 2:30 pm and it wasn't busy. There were only 2 or 3 other tables and they were on their way out. However, once we got seated, it took about 15 minutes for us to be attended to... and it wasn't even from our server. We were seated near the bar so I think it was the bartender or maybe the barback who gave us our water. At that point, we were ready to order and I mentioned it to the person who gave us our water. He originally said that he wasn't our server but he'd take our order which I appreciated because we never got officially greeted by our server. At the end of our meal, we didn't even know who to ask for the bill! We got our food delivered by two different people. Once someone stopped by to ask how our food was, we were almost done eating. It also took a while to get our bill since they got busy once we were about to leave. I understood that since it was busy, it was going to take a minute, but it was impossible to flag down literally anyone. At one point, I was debating on just going up to the host stand and asking to pay there since it was taking so long. Overall, I think the Smoke Shop BBQ has fantastic BBQ that is incredibly flavorful and tasty. However, based on my recent experience, the service doesn't match up to how good the food is. The vibes here are very family-friendly (there are usually a good amount of families here) and can get on the louder end if you're coming for dinner. Parking is tough because it's in Seaport, but that's to be expected.

Great little BBQ at Boston seaport. 15 minutes from Boston Logan Airport, 5 minutes to Chinatown. The food was very flavorable. The service was good. Full bar with all the beverages and mix drinks you want. Plenty of seating for your enjoyment. The restaurant was very clean. Bathroom with only 1 toilet and 1 urinal.

Coming right when they open I was able to see these things that you would likely not see in the evening. But to be fair I came right when they opened since it is first come first serve. A majority of the drinks were more on the savory side which was very interesting like "may all your bacon burn" with bacon bites at the top of the drink. The drinks my friend had were all stunning with the use of egg yolk to elevate the drink. We ended the evening by walking over to Bow Market and trying Viet Citron which was so DANG GOOD my gosh. The to go orders were insane but looks like they are doing very well despite recently opening in. I got the grilled lemongrass pork ribs bowl and youtiao and the side sauce was so good. The ribs were all very meaty. It looks small but I was surprised how full I was after having it. Nice night of drinks and food. Our waitress Bonnie was a gem! She had great recommendations and was very knowledgeable about the menu. The cornbread, I can't say enough about how amazing it was and the cheese on the bottom of the skillet, what a treat! The drinks were amazing. Bonnie helped my husband pick his drinks because he was unsure about the offerings and her picks were great! The chicken wings were cooked perfectly. The macaroni and cheese, don't ask questions about it just get it and don't be surprised that as it starts to cool, it tastes even better than when it first hits the table. Hubs had the pulled pork sandwich which was a big hit. Collard greens had a bit too much vinegar for me it, but I think it just needed some sugar and hot sauce. The mashed potatoes and gravy was fire. Whatever they boil those potatoes in is working!. Overall it was a great meal. The only complaint, if I have to have one is that the playlist in the kitchen was a lot better than it was in the restaurant. We definitely will come back again!! Ps: Hubs woke up telling me he wants his own cornbread next time!

I came here for my birthday brunch with high hopes, especially since this restaurant is known for…read moreits gumbo and has the reputation of beating Bobby Flay in a cooking competition. Unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming overall. I ordered the signature gumbo and was very disappointed. It was extremely watery, heavily herb-flavored, and lacked the rich, traditional New Orleans-style roux I was expecting. For $25, the portion was also disappointing and only 2 shrimp, about 4 pieces of sausage, and one small piece of lump crab. The rice paired with it was actually flavorful and one of the better parts of the dish, but it couldn't save the gumbo itself. The Vermont butter biscuits were one of the highlights, absolutely delicious when served warm. They were soft, buttery, and flavorful. My only complaint is that the portion was too small. The brisket was tender, but it was served extremely cold, and the BBQ sauce that came with it was also ice cold, which really took away from the dish. The mac and cheese tasted exactly like frozen Stouffer's and was honestly the biggest disappointment of the meal. The fried pickles had good flavor, though I ordered them expecting more okra in the mix and there was barely any. The potato salad was surprisingly excellent, well-balanced, creamy, and one of the best things we tried. The cowboy steak bites had potential but were extremely overcooked, oily, and lacked flavor. Definitely not something I would order again. Service was inattentive throughout our visit. No one checked in to ask how the food was, remove menus, or acknowledge that I barely touched my gumbo. I had ordered two bowls, and only after bringing it to the manager's attention was it corrected. The atmosphere was another downside. The music was so loud that it was hard to hear the people at my table. We specifically made a 3:30 reservation because the website stated live music would end at that time until later in the evening, but that wasn't the case. The strawberry guava margarita was very good, but overall this wasn't the birthday brunch experience I had hoped for. Between the inconsistent food, inattentive service, and overall lack of attention to detail, I don't see myself returning.
