Erin was an exceptional sales representative. She was very patient in showing us all the different designs from the feet style and material to the heights to the fabrics to the pillow dimensions to the filling. She let us take some fabrics to compare at home so we could get the right color and drew everything out for us. We loved working with her to get the perfect couch. Elizabeth on the other hand was a little more difficult. We called afterwards to get some clarification and make some adjustments but she kept talking over us instead of listening to what we wanted. She remained professional, but it was just hard to convey to her what we wanted. We luckily got it sorted out and then Erin confirmed the changes the next day. Deb in customer service is another exceptional person to work with. There were some discrepancies that did not match what we wanted when we got our delivery but she was very easy to work with and quickly resolved our concerns. Overall, we love our sectional. I thought this custom ordered sofa was going to be a quality item after reassurances that the fabric was easy care and spot resistant, and after buying the guardian stain care coverage just to be sure. Within a month after we got the sofa it looked dirty, but guardian only cares for spills, and then only after filling out a claim and submitting pictures. When I contacted the store about my dissatisfaction with the sofa looking dirty and old already, they honestly told me to use a dry paper towel on it! As if That would do anything. We are absolutely obsessed with both couches purchased through this location that were both custom. It Is so velvety and both gorgeous colors. The most comfortable couch that I and guests have ever sat on and even my parents end up sleeping over on it because they prefer it over a bed lol.. we also got a sofa bed couch and everyone who sleeps on it says it is beyond comfortable!!! We've now had our sofa from the Sofa Shop for a month and it is wonderful! A perfect spot to read, watch TV or take a nap. We had just moved from Ohio and were looking for a sofa for our new place here. We visited a number of shops. Some had great sofas but were too pricey. Some had good sofas but mediocre sales people. Some had sofas that you had to buy as is. But the sofa shop has great sofas that are custom made and don't break the bank in price. The sales people (and we went a couple of times) were the right degree of helpful: there to answer questions if we needed them too; they gave us space when we wanted it. They were always gracious and were always sincere in telling us to take our time and come back another time if we wanted too. Buying a sofa is not something you do very often. I adore the Sofa Shop. Three weeks ago I ordered and already received my couch and a beautiful rug. This the second time I bought a couch at the store and the only place I will buy a couch. Love that you can order the exact size you want and so many different fabrics to choose from. Upon my recommendation, both my son and his wife and my good friends bought their couches here and they are so happy with what they bought. Fabiola is so helpful and patient as many times as I went in to decide on the fabric and the style of my couch. I am going to buy some end tables and an ottoman there next and who knows what else! I am So happy that my friends recommended the Sofa Shop in San Juan. I have a condo with a very small living room space and was always difficult to try and find regular sofas and or loveseats to fit. I finally went into the store and had a great conversation with Elizabeth and she was able to help me pick out a sofa that was perfect for my area. I ended up getting a sectional that fit exactly as I wanted it to in the beautiful pattern material and with nice contrasting pillows. I love the fact I was able to pick the arms the back the cushions the pillows and materials for my sectional. It can be a bit overwhelming when you go in there to see so many different selections but the staff there is very knowledgeable and they ask a lot of questions and they are able to determine what you're looking for based on your feedback. I chose to purchase my sofa here because it was close to my house and I knew I could pop in often to take the time I needed to find the right fabrics. That said, I had a really really hard time finding the right fabric. I came in over and over but could not find an oatmeal color. They had near white, or yellowish, but not greige or oatmeal. Finally a sample showed up after my 3rd of 4th visit that had not been in the store before. In the end I could not even find a pillow fabric i liked at all. I could not figure out why the fabrics seemed dated. I was in the industry as an interior designer, and these fabrics were simply not in the here and now. Perhaps they deal in end stock (fabrics no longer produced but still large quantities available). Thats my suspicion. At the end of the day my sofa was beautiful and just the dimensions that I needed. However, after about 18 months, I can see the performance fabric is not all that. It pills and fuzzes and the whole sofa is more 'worn in' than I'd like inspite of the fact I avoided down. But I think the reason I wish I had just gone on up to Room and Board (comparable price, slightly better quality), is that when it came to purchasing my sofa, I didn't get good customer service. I had worked with some other wonderful ladies, but the one who took the order just wasn't professional. I gave myself 30 minutes until my next appointment so we'd have time. I let the person helping me know I was purchasing that day and had to leave in 30 minutes. I had one final thing to work out, but was ready to order a few minutes in. I let the lady know I was ready then proceeded to wait while she shot the breeze with some ladies who came in with their dog, but were not shopping that day (former clients I presume). Finally realizing I only had 10 minutes left I was forced to be insistent and told the lady I needed to get the order going. We were so rushed that no one explained the warranty to me. Previous customer service made it seem the warranty came with the sofa. So when I ran out of time and they wanted to sell me the warranty, I didn't do it because it was poorly communicated that it was an extra purchase not an automatic warranty. Plus by this point I was made 10 minutes late to a dr.s apt. My sofa arrived a day before major surgery and my kid peed on the sofa two weeks later. They were willing to let me retroactively purchase the protection to which I will add a star. But allas, I was in rehab, on pain meds, while homeschooling with three kids and just unable to deal with the whole situation. Wishing I had gone to Room and Board. read more

I bought a custom sectional from the sofa shop about 2 years ago. The staff was helpful and the sofa has held up very well. Our sofa really takes a beating. My two kids use it as a trampoline, climbing up onto the back rest and jumping down almost on a daily basis and the sofa still looks great. The back cushions have become misshapen because my kids always sit on them but the store offers free re-stuffing so I just need to do that. I also thought the pricing was very reasonable. We paid about $2,600 for a large custom sectional. The base price was $2,100 and then we paid additional to make it larger and get a better fabric. I love that you can make so many modifications. Such as piping vs no piping and you can specify how many cushions you want (bench cushions etc). I also paid $100 for a 5 year fabric warranty. Basically if you spill anything or rip the fabric they will clean or replace it. I'm not sure if it is worth it or not. We used it once when a child peed on the couch. They came out and cleaned it but the process was kind of a hassle. You have to fill out a form and submit pictures and then it took about a week I think for them to process the claim and send someone. read more

I had a sample of your new carpet with me and we chose fabric which included 2 pillows. The choices were many, but Jennifer guided us in the right direction and it turned out to be a painless process. The sofa was finished before the due date in just under 6 weeks!
