Awesome club, dealing with Maylik is a breeze, I highly recommend this place! Great night at the Sol Venue! 0

I'm glad I was able to find this venue at such a convenient location with a great deal. Their package consisted of many things for such a great price. They allowed me to have full creative control from the table layout, the uplighting color, and the cocktail menu. They were easy to talk to, the Shelby venue was spacious, and I had an incredible time celebrating my 21st birthday. I was just curious if I wanted a venue party. During the first meeting, we had a tour and Layton was very informative and helpful. I didn't secure a downpayment yet but I had an idea on the date. A few days later, he told me that someone else was interested in the date, and I didn't want it to get taken so we secured it the next week. I'm glad he knew about my interest and decided to tell me about it. Leading up to the event, our only main form of communications was e-mail and through text with their company's line. Monday evenings were the only times to walk-in and check out the venue for anything/questions. I work every Monday evening so I couldn't make it to any of the walk-in days so I had a friend come there on my behalf to take pictures, submit the rest of the deposit, test out the projection for the birthday signage, and ask any questions/concerns. I think that was my only issue is the availability for me to come in prior to my event. Other than that, there's only one public bathroom for my ~150 guests, but they still enjoyed the night. The bartenders were very sociable with my guests and was quick with their work. I was more captivated by the venue space and the package. The venue had that "upscale nightclub" theme and vibe I was looking for and it wasn't somewhere with heavy traffic like DTLA. It was in the heart of my hometown in Carson and I was able to have my hometown friends, family, and college friends from Orange County to come by. I got the package for the Shelby venue which fits my budget. The team was easy going, they were able to accommodate my ideas with having custom-made cocktails for my event, and the documents with all the FAQs was super helpful. I would definitely recommend this space if you're considering having a venue party that can have a classy, eloquent feel or a trendy nightclub atmosphere.

Came here last friday for the Yelp CMYE and here it is.... -YES YES YES the venue looks nice and yea it's nice for being in Carson, but are clubs not supposed to look nice on the inside? If you saw this club in Hollywood you would not think it anything spectacular....in fact you would probably call it a lounge and not a nightclub. -DRESS CODE is supposed to be upscale/trendy but there was a girl in there with flip flops?? Also later in the evening there some unsavory charactors dressed in ridiculously baggy clothing that were let in.... -The place was virtually empty aside from the yelpers who stuck around and a fairly rowdy bachelorrette (bday?) party. Clearly some work needs to be done on their promoting to get a good crowd in there. I have faith that will happen as a number of people I spoke to after said they recieved a flyer but weren't sure if it was worth going. -The DJ.....there were two of them and nether played a song for longer then 30 seconds (and 30 seconds was if we got lucky). -The table server girls and bartenders were SPECTACULAR and really made my night! I wish I could remember the name of our specific server because she was just awesome. I also heard the servers were randomly giving folks free shots which I think is pretty cool. -I cannot believe THEY CHARGE A COVER! Seriously if I paid a cover for this place I would probably shed a tear. -oh and THERE IS A SIGN EVERYONE!! However, it was definitely not lit up when we first arrived. All that said I would probably still give this place another chance if they had someone I KNEW was a good Dj (i.e. when they had Dj Feli fell their opening weekend). It is atleast a place where if you brought a great group of friends you could still have a good time. I think this place has a lot of potential just hasn't reached it yet.

Purple lighting to match my decor and the image projected on the wall, and DJ booth.

I just had my 50th birthday party at the SOL Venue and I had an excellent experience with the team there. I reserved early because the weekend of my party is quite popular and I was so happy to be able to get this venue on my actual birthday. I have to say they handle their business pretty well, from the contract process, payments, and they have documentation to answer almost all of your questions. When I did have questions the staff was easy to reach and very responsive. The team is also very accommodating. The night of my event everything went so well, people loved the venue, and they especially loved the bartender's. It's the perfect spot for a party, and they have a good air conditioning system. If you're looking for a venue to throw a nice party in a club like atmosphere this is an excellent venue.

My party was booked at the Shelby, but still within the same company I can not really sum up in words how thankful I am for this venue! First and foremost, thank you so much, Mr.Layton, for all your help and work in making sure my husband enjoyed his 35th birthday! Your team was so amazing and made certain things ran smoothly for the night! Thank you so much, Malik, for all your help as well. If you're looking for an excellent venue, work, plentiful parking, great space, and staff, look no further! The Shelby is the place to be and book! Thanks again, and I can't wait to book my next party!

Cool decor they have at the bar!

Came here to celebrate the life of my friend's mom who passed away a few months ago. I thought this place was a great venue to have it at. The place was clean and the people who worked there seemed to be helpful getting everything setup.

Super intimate setting for acoustic set! It was my friend Grecia's first set and it was amazing! Really nice bar, they even had nachos and bomb quesadilla's! Highly recommend coming here to destress after a long week! We came here on a Thursday night after a few meetings and school in Long Beach.. so nice to chill and listen to some good roots music! SOL needs to be put out there more in the scene of venues.

    Happy Birthday Tray!

Looking for the person who is TRULY in charge of this establishment? Particularly the OWNER/PARTNER. Not interested it the general number listed. Any assistance would be great.

Hi Melva, I believe we have been in touch already, but the general number is how you’ll be able get ahold of Layton :). You can also schedule a call with him using the same link that you used to initially schedule your tour or the venues. Just text…

Is this venues not opened to the public anymore ? I went once years ago and wanted to visit it in the next couple of weeks but it says on here BY RESERVATION ONLY. Is this not a nightclub anymore?

We are only open for private events, this is correct :D! Birthdays, receptions, fundraisers, any event worth celebrating :D.

    18 and over right?

We are available for private events only, and SOL Venue is 21+ :D.

Here are some additional thoughts: * Yes there is a small adjacent parking lot just for this coffee shop, but somehow the lot is almost always packed whether I come here in morning or afternoon. * This is one of the few coffee shops that offers Overnight Oats and honestly I was not a fan of the flavor profile. * Unlike Offset Coffee where I am able to grab a cup of drip coffee within a minute after placing an order, ordering drip coffee at Corridor Flow requires you to wait for your name to be called like everyone else. * Please note that the coffee shop usually sells out of drip coffee after lunchtime. * When ordering a matcha latte here, I was surprised that the drink was not sweetened. A matcha latte without sweetener just did not taste quite the same. This is still a nice neighborhood coffee shop with a modern interior vibe and good drip coffee, but I personally still prefer Offset Coffee due to its more streamlined service and easier parking. And lastly stick with Yelp's top highlighted drinks like the ube latte.

The indoor and outdoor seating areas are very spacious, which is a plus for me. Even though it was moderately busy the night we went, the outdoor area still felt spacious enough to offer an intimate vibe while we enjoyed our drinks. The service was nice; the staff were attentive and friendly. You pay at the counter for your drinks and take them back to your seat, just like at a standard bar. I'm not sure if I should be relieved that I didn't order any food that day after reading some reviews. I've seen some people complain about sanitary measures and the temperature/quality of the food here. Hmm... next time I stop by, I'll probably just grab drinks and then head over to In-N-Out lol. On another note, the drinks were good! I forgot which IPA I had, but it was nice. My boyfriend went for his usual michelada, which he enjoyed. Overall, SoCal Vibes is a laid-back, industrial-style brewery that offers a spacious, dog-friendly outdoor seating area. For that reason alone, I'll probably be back soon. I'd recommend this spot to anyone in the area looking for a chill place to grab drinks. Cheers!

Tea is supposed to slow you down, not make you feel like you're quietly melting while choosing a gift. (I put in the request via email about people with a good amount of energy, since I noticed a different in two parties I had been to, but none of the requests that I had placed via email mattered. I asked for high energy and mentioned that my daughter loves music, and they had lower energy and had to ask them to turn up the music. I mentioned that we didn't need a cake since she was getting one later, and they brought a cake.) At some point during the birthday party, I had to actually ask one of the ladies there to turn up the music because we could hardly hear it. That was really disappointing since my daughter really loves music (which I had mentioned in my email to them earlier that week). They didn't do any singing or karaoke since we hardly even heard the music. Super disappointing. It's cute in the sense that the kiddos can dress up and get their makeup and hair done and they did a great job at that part. I also liked that they took photos and then airdropped them to your phone after. The way it's set up, the birthday kiddo rings a bell to ask for more food or whatnot for her friends. The whole set up honestly doesn't seem to foster the values I want in my kiddo, but for a one time thing, I suppose it can make the birthday kiddo special. I feel like they could do something more fun like ringing the bell each time someone said birthday or something to that effect. Given my experiences here as the host of a birthday, it's cute but wouldn't do a birthday or event here again just given the overall service. Also, you'll end up tipping the people helping out, and that will be extra (I think we paid almost an extra 100). From a parent perspective, it's a little awkward. You are told to put "drop offs encouraged" but a lot of PV moms end up hanging out or not knowing if they should stay or go. I've paid similar amounts to other types of birthdays and have definitely felt like the value was worth it. This place, not entirely sure, but understand it's an institution and place of tradition in the area. You have to bring your own food, but they don't serve cake. Make sure you bring socks.

I chose shrimp rolls for my appetizer, top sirloin for my entrée and pineapple upside down cake with vanilla ice cream for my dessert, Pat had the pineapple fried rice, and the Keylime pie we shared the brussels sprouts along with the shrimp roll and chips. We were surprised first by the shrimp rolls, smaller version of lobster rolls, but these were served on those buttery Hawaiian bread rolls. A huge heap mound of chips accompanied them and between the brussels sprouts and this tasty starter, we both had plenty to share. My Top Sirloin was top rate, cooked medium, rare to perfection, served with a side of cilantro rice and broccolini. Boomer loved the broccolini (did we mention dog friendly?) Pat's entrée was the surprise, the pineapple shrimp rice served in half a pineapple! (After tasting it, It was an instant choice for my next visit!) Huge juicy shrimp and fried rice with pineapple throughout, seasoned perfectly. It was so delicious! We are almost too full for dessert. (Who am I kidding? I am never too full for dessert) The pineapple upside down cake was an individual cake about 4 inches in diameter and a scoop of generous scoop of vanilla ice cream, it was easily shareable. Pat did not share her Keylime pie, Although it was a sizable portion, and I refuse to beg. We were impressed by the incredible service, they even brought Boomer out a bowl of water, though he preferred the broccolini. If you haven't been in a while, you deserve a visit. It's a ling time Long Beach legend now reopened and I hope you find it happily so.
