This place was on our list of spots to try, so we finally made a trip out to Solvang to check it out. The line wasn't too long, which got us even more excited to try it. The presentation is definitely cute and it's a very photo-friendly stop, perfect for a quick visit and to experience the area. That said, the pastries felt a bit too dense for my personal taste. While it's a nice one-time stop for the experience, it didn't quite stand out enough in flavor or texture to make me want to return regularly. Overall, more of a tourist-friendly, aesthetic stop than a place I'd go back to often for the food.
While in Solvang with my cousins from Sydney we wanted to try aebleskiver. We stopped here cause the place we normally get it from was closed already. This place was small and cute and also they sell ice cream. Customer service was not welcoming and unfriendly. The cashier was very unhappy to be there. Didn't even want to answer our questions. Anyways we bought three aebleskivers with raspberry and sugar. The balls were dense and large and cold. It was sitting there I don't know for how long cause when we placed our order she went to the back are and came out within a minute. I knew immediately that it was going to be bad. Sure enough it was, after we all took one bite it went straight to trash. What a waste of money.
We wanted dessert so we walked around Solvang after dinner to find a place. Danish aebleskivers is something I wanted to try so I came to Aebleskivehuset and ordered 3 with raspberry jam and whipped cream and a scoop of coffee icecream and lemon marionberry. First, it took a long time because the person behind the counter was tinkering with the expresso machine without success only to be rescued by her co-worker. The donuts were dense and the jam was so thick it was gelatinous. It was ok but wouldn't order it again... The icecream was McConnell's...you can't go wrong with them.
Aebleskivehuset is located next to the Copenhagen Sausage Garden in Solvang! I had heard nothing but good things about Aebleskivers so I knew we had to check them out. I ordered 3 with raspberry sauce and powdered sugar for our daughter and I to share. I honestly found them to be a bit too dense for my liking - not sure if it was just the location or how they normally are. I liked the taste, but thought they were a bit too heavy. I know there were other places in town that sold Aebleskivers, but unfortunately, we ran out of time to try more! They also offered ice cream, frozen yogurt and other baked goods. There are no tables inside of Aebleskivehuset, but they do offer picnic tables outside with nice umbrellas for shade. Staff were friendly, but brief. Not sure if we would visit again, but I'm glad I got to try Aebleskivers nonetheless! Check them out!
These are fantastic and filling. Love how they carefully packaged the to go orders. With a side of jams so when you do eat it, it's not soggy. There was a little bit of a wait in line but it's well worth it. Everything is made fresh. It's a nice little store that you can go in. Not huge. But even if you are waiting outside, there's beautiful flowers and scenery to look at.
After all our shopping, the husband was ready for a snack! The promise of aebleskivers and ice cream kept him going up to this point. :) There was a short line when we arrived, and it moved fast. The young lady who helped us was very nice. Each order comes with 3 freshly made aebleskivers topped with powder sugar. We chose to have ours with the classic raspberry jam and sugar. We added two scoops of Cookies n' Cream in a cone. Just like a regular pancake, you can make it as sweet or simple as you like. I prefer to coat each bite with the tart jam and a side swipe of the sugar. The inside is warm, comforting and so good! The ice cream was perfectly creamy and yummy with the freshly made waffle cone. The store is small -- in just a couple steps you're in one door then out the other. Right outside are three tables and some benches. The tables turnover pretty quickly but get sticky/dirty throughout the day. Napkins are easily available at the inside counter.

We had lunch next door to here and decided to get some aebleskivers at the end of the day before we headed home. This is a tiny little place, very bright and clean, with a small counter to order at, eat outside. Three aebleskivers for $6.50 isn't bad at all, and it was plenty for the four of us to share. They were not the best though. Pretty dry, with a slight lemon flavor, the raspberry jam on the side was tart and runny, not thick at all. If we had paid more for these, it would be 2 stars, but for the price point, they were OK. My niece and her boyfriend had never had them before, they liked them, but I told them don't judge based on these. There are better ones out there, some just down the street from this place.
Cute spot, and it was a long-ish 10-15 min wait on a Saturday afternoon in Sept. Raspberry Jam and sugar Pancake balls ($6.50) - basic. Would not get again. Left a funny aftertaste in my mouth. Jam was sweeter than I'd hope. Still glad I got to experience it tho bc it's unique in the sense that it's denser than your average everyday pancake lol
Great spot to pickup after having the sausages next door. We got the original without ice cream. Yummy. It's just a pancake ball that's not too sweet and perfect to dip with the jam. I loved it. They have another location if you turn right from the wurst shop and walked for a little bit. That one don't have seats though, just the 1 bench.
Ice cream is always a must even on a rainy day, and this place got it going. There was no line unlike what others been saying, but maybe that was because it was raining. Inside is small. Put in your order and eat outside.
Nice, soft, and chewy. At first bite, I wasn't sure if I liked it, but by the second bite, I was warming up to it. Sweet with a hint of savory it really grew on me

Almost gave this place 3 stars but gave 4 because of how good the ice cream was! My mom got the coffee flavor and we got vanilla on top of our aebleskivers! Both were delightful! The aebleskivers were good but a bit too sweet with the jam and sugar and ice cream. I think without the sugar it would be perfect. The girl serving us was friendly and gave us suggestions as to what to pair with our aebleskivers. The place is small without seating but it was cute read more
It was fine? I guess? The place was clean and cute, though the animatronic old Danish Aebleskiver dude was a little unsettling. The server was helpful and prompt. Ordered the classic aebleskiver with raspberry jam and sugar. They were just kind of bland and chewy, not bad but not memorable. Maybe I'm just not an aebleskiver person. I thought I remembered them being pretty good, like maybe even crisp in the outside? But these were not that. Oh well. Not that much money wasted. Ordered the aebleskiver with raspberry jam and sugar and it was okay. The dough was bland so the flavor really only came from the jam and sugar. I thought it would be a donut type taste but it didn't taste like anything. The service was off, as some of our group was sitting outside and a gentleman with blonde hair had told them that the seating was for their customers which we had ordered food already. He continued to watch us as if we didn't belong there. There was no sign that said the seating was specific to their business but we had purchased from there anyways. The inside was nice and supposedly they don't accept cash which wasn't an issue as we had cards. Not sure why we were treated differently, but won't be going back. read more
Yum! I've been to Solvang several times but never tried pancakes balls. I decided to try the one with raspberry jam. Service was quick. We got to eat it immediately. It was warm, fluffy and just delicious with my morning iced coffee. There were seats outside to enjoy some sun and breeze. read more
For a quick (well, semi quick) sweet treat, I guess this could do the job. It's a cute, tiny little shop. I say "semi quick" because it was just the one lady working who helped us and there was quite a line before and after us. She was nice, but could've been friendlier. Maybe she was just overwhelmed from working the shift alone? Anywho, we got the basic Cinnamon and Cream cheese balls to share. It was good but not good enough for me to feel the need to want to go back. Also, anything with cinnamon could be quite messy so it's a good thing we were already outside, it just all fell to the ground. Would I recommend? Sure. Would I go again? Maybe... but probably not. read more

This was a must-try for us since we've seen it on so many people's list for things not to miss in SOLVANG. Place was clean and service was super friendly. Located right in the heart of their downtown area. We got the plain ones since we are new to it. It came with 3 pancake balls with a side of jam. The balls were large and dense, not like a beignet but more of a large donut hole. They were so dense that we ended up sharing one ball only. read more
Convenient located in the cute little main area of Solvang and perfect quick bite to try this danish pastry as you're walking around. One order of 3 bites of cinnamon with cream cheese was enough to try among us friends. It wasn't overly sweet but just enough. It was good but not like wow kinda feel. But definitely nice to try in this mini danish town. We came at a good time but we saw how it can be a wait as the line builds up during busy time. read more
Tasty german pancake balls like. Love with jelly and powdered sugar. It's so simple and yet filling snack or dessert. When we're there it's only cash because they had problems with the their machine. This is a good spot in Solvang. read more

I found myself in Solvang, so of course I had to get some aebleskivers! This place is a tiny dessert shop right next-door to the Copenhagen Sausage Garden. I came here after lunch looking for the tasty Danish desserts. I was greeted by a very friendly person, and I asked what was the most popular item. The person told me the most traditional or popular item here was the aebleskivers with raspberry jam and powdered sugar, so that's what I ordered. I thought they were good. Inside of the desert was a little thicker than I expected, but they were tasty with the raspberry jam and powdered sugar. read more
Small shop in Solvang for a quick dessert! Popped into this shop after enjoying lunch at the sausage garden, as it sits right outside the entrance. They serve Danish Æbleskiver, pancake puffs that are similar to hush puppies, which are soft, sweet, and with your choice of toppings. These are made to order and served hot. They also serve a few other pastries, espresso, and ice cream. They have a few tables and benches in their patio area. read more
Undecided where to go to grab aebleskiver but this place looks really fancy and inviting. Ordered aebleskiver with raspberry the reviews were on point they are not good after just a bite did not even try again they are like old or made earlier that morning I'm not sure why their ice cream is so soft kinda melting I got a scoop on a cup but it looks like melted already the weather not even hot flavor is ok but not a must try. The guy on the counter looks not to eager to serve us I did ask him what can he recommend he does not even know he never smiled he basically pointing in the menu oh well not coming back read more
Sadly, these were super mediocre and service was sub-par. I wasn't paying attention, but didn't feel these were cooked to order. They seemed very bland. We all took a bite, but decided they were only okay - so didn't finish them. I've had Abelskiver before and loved them, but can't say what was off with these. I'm going to try to cook some at home to figure it out. read more

Cute looking modern spot. Saw these "beinet" looking things and wanted to try them out cuz it's seemed to be the touristy thing to do. Ordered 3 with the raspberry powered sugar cuz that's the "original". The guy behind the counter was nice and patient with us. They were all right. A bit doughy for my taste. It definitely is not a "must try". Not sure if they all taste like that or if it was just this place. Maybe I'll try it at another store if I'm hankering for a snack. read more
Visitation Rights: Twice! They are soo good that we went before our lunch and after eating our lunch at the sausage garden. That's pure genius to be located next door. Aebleskiver Defintion: Aebleskiver (or ebelskivers) are puffy Danish pancake balls and a traditional Danish dessert most often served during the Christmas season. I wouldn't mind eating this year round! Ambiance/Decor: Not much ambiance and decor. Just order inside and sit/eat outside in their outdoor patio Entertainment: After ordering your aebleskivet, you can watch one of the staffers make them on the cast iron aebleskiver pans! Very fun to watch. Quite riveting! Service: Service was great. The aebleskiver's didn't take long when I got it the first time. The second time it took awhile, because they had to make more. Took about 10 minutes. It's all good in the neighbor. Aebleskiver Of Choice: Decided on the traditional danish style, which includes raspberry jam and powder sugar condiments for dipping. Very fresh, moist and very good! Aebleskiver For Thought: Had such a great experience! Hopefully, next time I visit... the shop will still be there! read more

We got an order of aebleskivers with chocolate this past Sunday. They came with plenty of chocolate sauce, but these danish "pancake" balls were extremely dense and didn't taste freshly made. The flavor was sweeter than typical pancake batter, but again, it was much thicker and quite heavy, so much that we couldn't finish it. Service was quick and easy, and there was outdoor seating available to enjoy our treats. read more
Super mediocre, basic straight out the jar type of toppings, bland close to nothing tasting and had a weird smell to them. Wasn't worth even finishing. Sad I have had aebleskiver in europe before and this is not a great representation read more
Okay I know I posted 3 pictures of the same thing lol but it was my first time trying aebleskivers and they were so yummy!!! *_____* aebleskivers are popular Danish snacks made from fried batter and the ones we got were warm, soft, tasted fresh and had the perfect texture. I recommend ordering them with sugar and jam on the side. I don't even like jam but it went so well with these! I haven't tried anything else from that place so this 5-star review is only for the aebleskivers. read more

This was another location in Solvang that we kept being told we had to go and it was just ok. We wanted to make sure we tried it since it was on so many lists. We got the 3 pack of cinnamon and cream cheese. I am a huge sweet tooth person so I expected to like these. I had one and my husband has one and we tossed the third (which I noticed quite a few others had done the same when I looked at the trash). These are basically giant donut hole without the flavor. Really friendly and fast service. It's a small, quiet shop. There was no line when we went and got our food really fast. The raspberry aebleskivers were really good and we ate it with our meal since it's next to the Copenhagen Sausage Garden. read more
I stopped by here to grab some ice cream and ended up trying a vanilla one with cookies. Wow, the taste was so unique, it was creamy and a bit gummy but so delicious. They don't allow samples so you just have to pick though all the flavors looked good. They didn't have cones on my visit which was a bummer but the cup still hit the spot. read more
