First off, The Source started out great. Now, July 2026 and the past 11 month's the nice tots are gone, replaced with horrible stringy, greasy burnt twigs!!! EVERY SINGLE TIME. The burgers, chicken tenders, all dried out and below edible. As an owner in the Lodge, we have eaten here a lot. No longer can you order, pay and pop down for pick-up. Pay more for room service. Twice now, it's been the wrong order delivered, having to go downstairs and wait for a new order, or once just for hamburger buns! The meat was buried in a huge pile of wet lettuce. No sorry, no dessert or comp of ruined meal. Breakfast is the only meal I can in good conscience recommend too our renters. The bar drinks are great though. read more

The resort itself is absolutely stunning. The restaurant offers beautiful views, including a perfect spot to catch the sunset, which made the experience even more special. Before our reservation, we spent some time in the lounge enjoying live music and really great drinks. The bartender was fantastic too! Once we were seated, there was a bit of a wait before our server came by, but we started with a bread basket and a couple of appetizers, which were all delicious. For my main, I ordered the steak and really enjoyed it. The sides weren't my favorite, but overall the meal was very satisfying. We were celebrating a birthday, and the complimentary dessert was a lovely touch. Even more thoughtful was the signed birthday card from the staff! read more

Came here for a friend's birthday and had such high hopes - the vibe is fantastic and the resort is beautiful - however we were quickly (or maybe slowly) disappointed. Our first order of drinks took forever. It wasn't even a busy night yet they just seemed to have forgotten about us. Then we ordered the Savory Source S'mores to share as a starter. This also took forever and when it finally arrived it was the dessert smores (honest and easy mistake). We waited another long while for our savory smores and when it finally arrived the presentation was top notch. It was truly an ambience experience - however - that's where the goodness ended. The gas flavors from the torch immediately over-powered anything you put over it, and sadly, the ingredients weren't that tasty otherwise. Each of us choked down a cold "smore" and agreed that some things were better to just look at than indulge in. We pivoted and opted to go elsewhere for dinner. The truth is we'll be back because this resort is amazing, just hoping next time maybe this spot will offer a better experience aligned with the price. read more

Disappointment. Had high hopes and was really let down. My wife ordered the pork tenderloin that was supposed to come with "corn bacon stuffed gnocchi" per the menu. What it actually came with was corn and bacon tossed in gnocchi that tasted like Delallo premade gnocchi from the box. It also said it came with a cherry pepper sugo sauce but I believe it was actually just Sriracha. I ordered the filet mignon that was supposed to come a blue moon potato cakes. But what it actually came with was more like scalloped potatoes with some blue cheese mixed in and my steak came out lukewarm. I told our waiter about my steak and he apologized and sent it back to get me a new one. It took over 20 minutes to get a new steak. My wife had already finished her meal with a box by the time I got my meal. I was able to flag down the manager that was walking by and she took my concerns seriously. She apologized for the misleading menu and also for the problem I had with my steak, when the bill came they did remove both the pork loin and the beef from the bill. The kids, mac & cheese, and chicken tenders were good lol. Also what I found strange was you can't order the burger that is served in the bar/restaurant area. Usually at restaurants like this, you can order the entire menu in the main restaurant, but the bar area has a limited menu. We weren't the only ones wanting to get the burger, the table next to us had the same issue. Our server was very nice and the restaurant has spectacular views. I think they can do better and be a great Suncadia spot but has some work to do. read more

We came twice. First time was dinner time. They were lacking of servers, so we waited eventhough the restaurant was 60-70% empty. The food was great! From all food that we ordered, our most favorite was the burger entree & bread butter appetizer. However, I was not happy because the bread was only 4 slices. It was good but not satisfying because of too small portion. I wish they gave me more bread. It's just a teased, not worth it. Second visit, we came during lunch time. Perhaps, different chef?? We ordered Fish & Chip again. The taste was pretty off. We also ordered Locomotive Mocco. My comment, if this is meant to be a Loco Moco Hawaiian food, this menu is far from it. You may still like it, it's just not for me. The Tortila Chips appetizer was da bomb!! Gotto have it. I could've gave 5 stars for the first visit, but the second visit within 2 days, is like a 3 stars. So here we go, 4 stars. read more

Have you ever heard of a hotel restaurant that doesn't do take out? Well, you found one! I was informed at 6:30pm that this place doesn't do take out after 2pm because of "policy." A hostess gave me a nice dead Gen Z stare and suggested I maybe sit down and "eat a few bites" before taking the rest to go. Mind you - with two little kids running around and swimming all day, they are tapped. This is a basic hotel convenience. I've never seen anything like it, this place has lost its mind. It's the only restaurant on the hotel lot - to not offer take out is INSANE. The other restaurants are not walkable. Food is also terribly overpriced. read more

When we bought our home in Suncadia a short year and a half ago The Source was my favorite spot. Big, yummy menu with amazing tots and the best grilled cheese ever. Unreal how far it's fallen. I just paid $37 for the small Caesar salad. I added chicken. This photo is what a $16 side of chicken looks like. Furthermore they have completely done away with their full menu in the bar area (where literally everyone wants to sit.) They give you a small and rather lame menu with like 6 items. And the no take out after a certain time in the afternoon is SO unacceptable. This is a resort. Families are coming and going constantly. Take out is not unreasonable and should be a given. Stop saying NO to everything and start understanding what actual hospitality is. This was the last straw today. I will not be back. The Stovehouse at The Inn just across the street is fabulous. And once our 2 new restaurants open at Suncadia Social in the next month or so The Source is cooked. read more

I was disappointed this evening when I showed up at the Source lounge and was not able to order my usual chicken piccata (used to be the Coal country chicken) Apparently you have to dine in the main restaurant now to order from the restaurant menu. I just want to sit in the lounge and enjoy a nice meal. I won't be back until they change that policy back to being able to order from the full menu in the lounge. read more

Horrible experience. It took over an hour to get our food and it wasn't even busy. Prices are absurd... $18 FOR BREAD, $30 for a burger and $15 kids meal and the drinks are $10-$12 for kids! Obscene. French fries were cold. No one could get service since the server had too many tables. People were sending food back because clams/mussels didn't open when cooked. Worst $100 meal of my life and we didn't even get apps or drinks!!! We will NEVER eat here again. They need to completely redo their entire menu and pricing structure. Hire more staff. Great experience, we had breakfast with kids and it met everyone's expectations. I was pleasantly surprised due to the negative reviews however it was the only reason onsite so we gave it a try. We had eggs beni and the farmers eggs. The boys had the mini pancakes, yogurt and fruit, my daughter had the kids mini breakfast: egg, bacon and potatoes- she loved the potatoes they were very tasty. My youngest ate from kids buffet it was free for him and he enjoyed waffles, fruits and scrambled egg. I must say service was excellent. The views amazing and the mountain coffee with baileys was a hit for my husband. 10/10 would come back. We are very picky and our kids need everything separated and fresh so this was nice read more

We saw three girls standing around a hostess stand while the servers hustled around and tables were filled with dirty plates. We are local peeps with friends in town. We heard conflicting reports on this place but decided to try it instead of our standby "Hoist House" With dogs we are able to sit on both patios. The food was literally amazing! The presentation, the temp, etc... so damn good! And Crystal our server was very good. Our only complaints would be the time it took to get everything. It's remarkable, but somehow they managed to make each and every aspect of this restaurant worse than Portals, which it replaced. Worse design and ambiance (from fine dining vibe to cafeteria-esque), worse wine selection, worse menu (this was the worst part), worse food quality (the clams were like eating a salt lick). The service was about the same. The prices were lower, I think, but at the expense of all the rest of the factors... we won't be back. It's a shame because there aren't a ton of great dining options in the area and Portals was near the top of them. Still giving it an extra star for the view, but that's not really anything they did in the rebrand I'd give them any credit for. read more

We did enjoy our meals at the Source but were left with a bit more to be expected for the price. First of all, I think the remodel and new dining establishment is a great change from Portal's which was a more formal steakhouse vibe. If you aren't wanting to have a formal dining experience it is a nice option to order at the beautifully remodeled bar inside or outside. However, what confused us first is that on a Sunday they stopped serving breakfast at 11. We sat at 11 and just ordered drinks. We had to wait until 11:30 to order from the lunch menu when most of us were anticipating brunch, at leisure on a Sunday at a resort. I enjoyed my grilled cheese but the tomato soup tasted a bit strange. I thought the cute puns on the menu were fun though as it was called the "Grilled Kacheese" after Lake Kachess. My company enjoyed their meals too. We returned for dinner in the bar. I ordered the evergreen salad which was delicious and fresh but it said it would have chopped kale and more veggies, it was lacking the kale and was just mixed greens. I chose to upcharge for 6 oz of steak, at a whopping $24. I don't feel like 6 oz was included, although it was delish and beautifully presented I felt like I was a bit jipped for my $42 salad. The drinks were good though and service fine. I wish they had more options on the menu, and that prices were a bit cheaper, but I guess it is resort pricing. My friends app was cold and looked like it had been sitting awhile because she ordered it as her entree so it was waiting while our dinners cooked. We tried it twice and experienced rude employees who acted as though they'd rather have been doing literally anything else than their job, including one who told my wife, who wanted to place a take out order, that she wasn't going to take my wife's order because their kitchen was backed up. This was around 4:30 pm on a Friday. The person told my wife not that she couldn't take the order but that she wouldn't. That's unacceptable. If a restaurant takes your order and tells you it's going to be a long wait time, that's fine. That's professional. To simply refuse to take an order, especially for people who are not going to be taking up space in the restaurant, seems beyond bad business. read more

We made reservations for the Source, Plates and Pours at Suncadia for Christmas. Kind of a disappointment, thought it was going to be a buffet service and it was not. My wife and I shared the Brussel sprouts with blue cheese. We also ordered the Breadboard. When it arrived we were informed they had run out of one of the seasoned butters the three servings of butter all looked the same , I ordered the Prime Rib and she ordered a dinner salad. I ordered my Prime Rib, medium rare. When the meals arrived, the Prime Rib arrived covered in a dark sauce (not mentioned in the Menu) I think the sauce was to cover up the fact the Prime Rib was not medium Rare but Medium Well done. The steak knife that was provided had a hard time cutting the meat. I had to ask for horseradish for the meat. the meat was very tough and hard to chew. There was no juiciness to the meat and it was only slightly warm. After late lunch we asked about dessert and it took forever to get a menu and then it took forever to ask if we wanted to order. It took so long we passed on dessert. But the bad experience did not end there. When we got home 45 minutes later both my wife's and my dinners did not agree with us. On thursday my wife still had issues. The only thing we shared was the Brussel sprouts.
