After losing my family in the July 4th floods, I was met with an outpouring of kindness and compassion from everyone here. They sent me flowers, froze my membership for six months without hesitation, and consistently showed me care and understanding during the most difficult time in my life. Megan, the director, along with every member of the staff especially Rosy and Maria has been absolutely incredible. Their support has been genuine, thoughtful, and deeply appreciated. It's rare to find a place where people go above and beyond in such a meaningful way. This spa is nice. It's fairly expensive compared to others. You're greeted with champagne as you change into a provided robe. There is a steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi that you have access to you as you wait for your service. I have had multiple facials and massages, all well done. The staff are very kind. However it just seems expensive for what is done. There is also an automatic 23% gratuity on top of a service that is already $200 for an hour, and then you're prompted if you would like to add an additional tip. Horrible!! Wanted to spend a nice day here however, the spa was much more limited in amenities, outdated, and unclean (mold mildew and rust in the spa facilities). Wasn't a nice place to spend relaxing. It's not luxe. They offered complimentary champagne but I had to find attendants in their break room to ask for help. This spa is terrible. I can't believe I just paid $130 for a manicure and a pedicure and they are the worst manicure and medicine I have ever gotten. The polish is uneven, there are bubbles all over my nails. And I didn't even get a pedicure because the guy said it took too long to take off my gel polish I had on before so he didn't even give me a pedicure just cut, filed and painted my toe nails which also look like shit. Second the amenities are terrible, super old and small and there was nasty hair in the steam room. Also the staff talk to eachother in the back room SO loud. I was sitting in the lounge room trying to read my book before my service and couldn't even focus all I could hear was how loud they were talking. The prices they charge are ridiculous for what they offer. They offered me 20% off for how bad my nails and toes looks but honestly it should have been 50% off because I still paid $130 that with 20% off! I could have gone to a whole in the wall nail salon and paid $100 for a well done mani and pedi. Will never be coming back and will never recommend to anyone in Dallas read more

The services themselves were amazing but the women working reception were not helpful at all. I booked a massage, a facial, and lunch service. A friend wanted to pay for my facial. She also had services done on the same day. When checking out, we asked for my facial to be added to her bill. I checked out with my card and my receipt was correct. When I checked my card statement later, I found out that they billed me for ALL of the services between the two of us. An additional $910 was billed incorrectly to my card. Having worked retail before, it is not hard to change a billing method for separate services. When I called the next day to sort out the incorrect billing, the woman on the phone was not helpful either. I'm not expecting the red carpet with these spa prices, but when I'm paying that much for spa treatment, I'd at least expect employees to know how to use a point-of-sale software. read more

Booking this for a day at the spa for the amenities was the worst spa I ever booked. I have even been to nicer spas in Ohio before. Make sure to call and see if the hot tub is working before you go to this "luxury place". As I go in they give me a tour after I checked in only to mention at the very last second the hot tub doesn't work. I booked this place thinking it would be a luxury relaxing day. They basically have a living room with separate tiny rooms that include the hot tub, cold plunge, sauna, and the steam room. Very very small and if there are more than three people in one spa session room at a time it would feel very overwhelming. The steam room is loud and makes a lot of noise, but doesn't get that hot. I booked a day pass and planned to spend at least a few hours there, and ended up leaving after one hour. Definitely don't recommend if you plan to book it just for the amenities. read more

I went to the Spa at the Crescent today and had an 80-minute deep tissue massage which was $270, plus the automatically-included 23% gratuity, bringing my total to $332. In short, the ambiance of the Spa at the Crescent felt like a country club locker room. If you think a $270 massage is going to be life-changing just because it's $270, think again. This massage was pleasant but nothing special. The reason for the exorbitant cost of a luxury spa massage is supposed to be the overall experience of the spa. A luxury spa is supposed to feel luxe. First, I was disappointed by the quality of the amenities. The sauna was tiny, and it looked like it was falling apart with cedar planks coming up. It also maxed out at 159 degrees Fahrenheit. The steam room wasn't functioning when I went, which was a bummer. The hot tub was fine, as was the tiny, single-person-sized cold plunge tub. Second, the lounge area is nice, but they keep the place very cold. Many of the women around me expressed how uncomfortably cold they were. Upon arrival, they offer a complimentary glass of champagne or water. The lounge offers mixed nuts as well as unlimited hot tea and fruited water. I managed to find a relaxation room tucked back in a corner of the facility which is only accessible if you go through the door to the service rooms and was not pointed out to me by my attendant during my initial facility walk-through with her. The relaxation room has 3 lounger beds with low light and soothing music. Each bed has a blanket. My guest and I both used our blankets and I watched the attendant fold our used blankets and return them to the beds for use by another guest, which I found to be kind of gross because that meant my blanket had probably been used before I used it, too. My biggest qualm is due to the country club look of the shower area and bathroom and lack of quality bath products. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower wasn't a luxury brand as one would expect to experience after a costly service. They were unbranded products and felt of the quality you would find at a low budget public gym or a motel 6-style hotel (basic, cheap, economy-quality). Super disappointing. I was expecting at the very least Keihl's or something comparable to shampoo with. Also, from a luxury spa such as the Spa at the Crescent, one expects brand-name post-shower products like body lotion and face moisturizer to be offered. The body lotion was some no-name brand. Zero facial moisturizer or other facial products were offered. You'll see a photo of the pathetic offering in this review. Also, don't miss the black Conair-like hairdryers that could be from 1996 and have the drying speed of a summer breeze. Where are the Dyson hairdryers one would expect to find in one of the most expensive spas in Dallas? Despite all that, the one shining high point was the friendliness of the staff. The staff were lovely. To say I was disappointed by my experience is an understatement. The experience was nowhere what it should have been for the price. I should have walked out of there feeling like I can't wait to do it again the next time I can afford such a splurge, but instead, I just feel stupid because I totally wasted my money. I have received services here as a guest and it's beautiful. The staff is professional and caring. It's a luxurious five star spa.

The Crescent is a nice hotel but this spa was mediocre. It's an older building and the amenities were not updated - the steam room and sauna were small and out dated. The staff did not feel very professional in comparison to other hotel spas in the nearby area. This spa does not offer couples massages or a co-ed waiting area which was a bummer, especially when you're trying to spend the day with your significant other. I got a 80 minute deep tissue massage, they come get you from the locker room after you get settled in so be sure to arrive early to use the amenities. The massage room was a bit small and I felt that it could've been a nicer for the price you are paying. My boyfriend complained that his masseuse was too talkative even when he would just answer with yes/ no. What kind of masseuse asks questions/ talks about their personal life for an entire 80 minute massage? I however fell asleep during mine and I enjoyed it, I think her name was Beverly. The women's locker room isn't very big. I went on a Saturday and there was a pretty big group there and they took up the entire waiting room/ vanity area plus they were very loud. It was difficult to even find a sink to wash my hands. I did however enjoy my pedicure but I probably will not be back to this spa for any other service. read more

The spa itself is beautiful. I went in with surprise as I knew it had been remodeled, but had not seen it yet. And it meets modern, sophisticated and classy. I checked in to my 10am apt smoothly, and I was immediately given cold water, and shown to the ladies lounge where I could change into a clean robe and store my goods. Everything felt extremely professional, and they also provide you jelly slides to walk to your treatment in. I then went to start my spa treatment, a pedicure, where I was greeted by Kahn. He was absolutely delightful, and accommodating. They do both the hands and nails separate, which I like due to not feeling rushed as I usually do in nail salons. It was nice to truly embrace the spa feeling, and Kahn immediately grabbed me a warm neck wrap that smelt of pumpkin & lavender. Heavenly! They use new, all metal tools which I thought was a cool addition instead of a sterile plastic packet. Then we moved on to my nail treatment. I was a little hesitant on doing just a manicure, as I always use dip powder.. but to my surprise (4 days later) it as held up through all the hell I put my hands through! (Even a hot glue gun lol). Not even a chip! And not to mention, Kahn is hilarious. He is knowledgable, well seasoned and truly cares about his clients! I will be coming back just solely to see him. He believes in natural nails, which I have been trying to move into as the dip is so harsh - and I think he's just the guys to help make my transition. I had a massage here Wednesday morning. The place is great. You walk in and it's just beautiful. The girl at the counter seemed ditzy. I told her the reservation was under my cousin's name. She then asked what my name was. I told her and she said, I don't see you have a reservation. Duh, I just told you, "it's under my cousin." I didn't let her ruin my experience. The bathroom attendant was very helpful. I loved how spacious the area is. My masseuse was very professional and kind. She kept asking how the pressure was and if I was comfortable. At first it felt like she was just rubbing oil on my body but after we discussed pressure it was better. We enjoyed the sauna and hot and cold plunges during our visit. My only complaint, we wanted to start the morning with champagne and we were denied because it was 9am. People are on holiday! People are celebrating! I may just be particular about the spas I go to and I preface this was my first visit here. First off the website touts a no cell phone policy, every single woman in this small spa was on their phone. I've been to many other spas in different states that actually uphold this policy, so very odd that they don't. The employees may have been training but they were constantly talking and it deterred from being in a serene environment as the area is very small and sound travels quite loudly in there. The steam room needs a definite scrub down (mildew/mold near the floor). Didn't catch the masseuse name but she did a good job, no complaints there. Bathroom and showers were clean, stocked with toiletries in case you forgot yours. They automatically add a gratuity fyi. So if you read about this spa in one of the local Dallas guides, it's lackluster and easily one to pass over. read more

It is REALLY tough to find a spa like the Crescent offers, unless you're okay spending your day naked with strangers (King Spa). A spa where you get a robe, a locker, can hang out and relax before and after your service. A sauna and maybe a pool or hot tub. After speaking to a fellow Elite-Yelper she and her single friends recommended the Crescent, so we made a reservation. We arrived early to enjoy our robes and relax before our massages. From the hotel valet to the spa check-in desk and the spa attendant, everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. Pros: The robes were soft and the lockers spacious. The bathroom had a flat iron, blow dryer, curling iron, lotions, mouth wash, and there was plenty of space to get ready. The showers had lots of hot water, razors, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There was plenty of privacy and space to move around in the showers as well. My massage was wonderful, and as always, never long enough :) The pressure was superb and the attendant left me in silence to fully relax. I was fortunate enough to have been in a room opposite of the parking garage so it was silent. My friends were not as fortunate. All three of them heard the noise of the parking garage and although their massages were good, the noise definitely interfered with their relaxation. Cons: One of the other main reasons we chose the Crescent was because they boast a "cuisine" you can enjoy in your spa robes. I don't think I'd use "cuisine" to define the food we had. The wraps, salads, and sandwiches we ordered were what you'd make at home. Literally, it looked like the person behind the bar had assembled our food at the bar, not in a kitchen. It was simple, super basic and yet it cost a whole lot more! They only have one salad dressing, no ranch dressing for salads or fries. We were extremely disappointed with the food and cost for what we received. The photos online must have been taken at the grand opening, because things have greatly deteriorated. The hot tub is extremely worn and you probably don't want to see the bottom when the bubbles stop. The ceiling paint is all bubbled and faded. As other reviews stated, there were store-bought fans in the waiting area. The whole place could use some fresh paint, new carpet and some tender love and care. BOTTOM LINE: I would NOT call this a "world-class spa", BUT I also won't write this place off. If there were dozens of day spas like this I would say "see ya later" to the Crescent, but there aren't. The staff were all friendly, the massage was excellent and the ability to relax in a robe before and after is really nice. If I were to return I would make sure I was confirmed in a room NOT under the parking garage, and I would avoid the Spa Cafe and enjoy a nearby dining establishment instead. read more

I had an awesome Day at the Spa Sunday! I was greeted by a smiling front desk staff (Melissa and Margaret), Relaxed in the Jacuzzi, Sauna and steam. So nice! My massage with Rafael was one of the best I have had, he melted away all my tension. My facial with Azam was also one of the best facials I have had, very relaxing with such great results. It was so loud & the women working in the locker room didn't even bother to ask the party to keep it down for the other guest. The 80 min massage was below par, pretty disappointing. I recently tried the newly renovated spa at The Crescent. The design is pretty and relaxing. Overall, my experience was pleasant. The staff could not have been more accommodating or attentive, so kudos to Chella and the rest of the ladies. Mimi did my massage and was terrific! She worked out any knots but also made it a relaxing experience. There were a few aspects that I think could be improved and make a big difference: -One of the first things I noticed in the spa area was that there was only one common space (the Lounge) to relax in. I was sad to see that there was a big TV mounted on the wall. It was on the whole time I was there. Spas are a wonderful escape from the noise of the outside world. Wish this wasn't a distraction in the one room that is available for relaxing. With some light, spa music and no TV, the lounge room could be a really relaxing location for a book or just for resting. -The lighting throughout much of the spa (except for the massage rooms) used bright, white lighting rather than a soft, warm lighting. It feels a bit jarring and sterile for a spa. -Really enjoyed the Hydrotherapy Room, but the pools look grimy and old. I'm sure it's just that the tiles have aged and are hard to clean. Overall, I would still recommend this facility based on the services I received and the attentiveness of the staff. With a few tweaks to the above areas, this spa could really be special. read more

This is my go-to place for an hour of relaxing or just calming downtime during the day. I can walk from my office and be down the stairs into the Crescent spa in 5 minutes. The lounge area is quiet and comfortable with complimentary snacks and tea provided by courteous attendants. My favorite pre-treatment area is the steam room. My favorite facial is the oxygen option. Annalisa is an expert in skin care and has really helped me find a healthy approach to taking care of my skin. My favorite body treatment is the mineral scrub. It is a wonderful combination of an exfoliating/moisturizing treatment and body massage. Kerra Kinman knows how find my specific stress points and provide relief through massage. The providers at this spa are well-trained professionals who are experienced in working with discerning clients. read more

To be fair, my massage itself was a 5/5. The therapist's skills and technique were absolutely amazing. My back has never felt better -- EVER. I knocked it down 3 stars because although the therapist did an amazing job, the therapist spent the entire time talking. The topic? Mostly politics. Not everyone has the same political views, and not everyone shares the same social ideologies. To top it off, she might have made a few racist comments. For example, she mentioned that my kind is the kind people like because we don't try to bomb the US. She also quoted previous Asian clients by portraying a non-native English accent. Maybe slightly acceptable for a lunch with her own friend (still no), but not so much for what should have been a relaxing time at the spa. I came to the Crescent for a spa day with a friend. This was my first spa experience and I didn't know what to expect. We were greeted by a host that gave us a tour. We used the sauna and steam room which were clean and accommodated both of us comfortably. My massage was the highlight of my spa experience. Adrina did an amazing job. She was very attentive and tended to all of my problem areas. She worked at them (as requested) and by time I left I felt a notable difference. Adrina pampered me from head to toe (literally). To be completely honest, I'm actually at a stand still at what to write *gasp*, I know. I received a gift certificate and was so excited since I'd been DYING to try their services. The Crescent is like the Godfather of ALL salons and spa's (as far as reputation goes)...to say anything bad would be a travesty! GAH! So on the day of my appt (a signature deep massage) I arrive and if you haven't been here, you need to go the LOWEST level of the building....you will go down about 100 stairs. Also, if you valet (the spa will validate!), go in the side door which is the spa's private entrance. Check in was easy and everyone was super nice, however after that I had no idea where to go or what to do?! I was shown to the waiting area and locker room. I put my things in a locker and sat down. It was so loud and crowded! There must have been some big party of people or something....not what I want before a massage. No one told me how long I would be waiting, if I was in the right area or anything. Finally I asked a woman if there was a quieter place for me to wind down before my appt and she took me back to a lovely little waiting area. Why wouldn't you tell all people waiting they should go here?! The masseuse came to get me and took me back, I told her all my problem areas and that I like it really hard and deep (yes, yes that's what she said). Anyways, she left me to get comfy under the covers, etc. First of all, I know I'm not alone in thinking that a massage is supposed to be relaxing, quiet and peaceful. When she came back in the room, she was speaking so loud, gave no mention that she was about to start (she just started) and tried to have a conversation with me. After about 5 minutes, I just stopped responding. On a good note, the massage was fantastic! She really did an amazing job. It's just with the talking, the loudness, the water faucet running at one point...I wasn't as relaxed as I would have liked. When I went to pay (remember, I had a gift card)....the woman checking me out was so confused on how I was suppose to tip. I told her I wanted to pay cash. She looked even more lost. So I handed her the cash and she just set it down on the counter. I asked her if I needed to take it back to the masseuse and she promised she would take care of it. So I hope she got my tip! Not really sure about a return visit as there is another spa I usually go to. But I will say that overall, the massage itself was great...its just so many little factors contributed that im kind of meh. So sad. read more

I've been going to the Crescent Spa for massages for about 5 years. I always ask for a gift certificate for my birthday or Christmas, and since I have a huge family, I usually get a couple! I end up going to the spa around 4 times a year. You pull up to the hotel entrance valet (the spa will validate your ticket), and instead of going to the lobby and down the elevator, if you walk up a little bit, there's a door to the spa. You go down some stairs, but this way you don't have to go in the hotel, and you can smell the spa on your way down, which always gets me excited! You get a locker to store your things, and a big comfy robe to slip on. Then, you can wait in the waiting room, head to the tranquility room (i love these) or enjoy the amenities- steam room, sauna, spa tub/hot tub, and cold dip pool. The staff will come get you when it's time for your appointment. They also have hot tea, ice water with lemons or oranges and complimentary fruit cups. You have all day access to these amenities if you have any appointment booked there. So, if you just get your eyebrows waxed, you can enjoy the steam room, sauna, etc. The place is very clean and soothing. Some steam rooms are gross, but you can tell they keep it clean here. I've had several different massage therapists and have enjoyed all my massages. The only thing that bothers me sometimes, which is why I didn't give 5 stars is that some of the therapists are so concerned about not being inappropriate (I guess that's what it is) that they don't massage my whole body! If I'm paying for a massage, I want my butt massaged too!! And I like when they massage around your chest and neck. I think some of them are trying to avoid getting near any private area so much that they don't get some of the good spots! This hasn't been every therapist, but a few of them. I am tempted to say something sometimes, but I don't want them to think I'm a pervert. Anyway, overall the massages are wonderful. After your massage, you can enjoy more amenities and take a shower. They have refreshing soaps and shampoos. The bathroom also has a nice vanity area where you can freshen up with hairspray, hair gel, mouthwash, etc. Again, everything is clean and fresh. The staff is always very helpful, extremely polite and friendly! They also have a nice gift area where you can buy comfy robes, bath products, pajamas, etc. Of course, you might not want to spend any more money by the time you leave! My heart is broken....what was once my "go to" spa and home of the "gift that always works for my husband" is now a "not ever again" place for me. The real deal breaker is that after a horrible experience neither Jennifer Haack, the Spa Director or Linda Wan, The Managing Director, have taken the time to return my calls. On November 11th (yes, almost a month ago) I went in with a gift certificate from my husband for the Ocean Body Contour package post child birth. Regina was my technician. She was great. She had healing hands and was very good at what she does. The package included a scrub, wrap, bath, and massage. The problem was that the room had cold air blowing down on my back the entire time. It's hard enough to stay warm during any wrap or scrub. However, with cold air blasting, it really takes away from the "relax" part of why we go to the spa. Regina was gracious and continually put hot towels on me and was very apologetic. After the scrub, wrap, and bath, I asked Regina if we could find a warmer room for the massage. She was able to do so and that helped. However, I was still shivering and never was able to relax and have the experience I expected. Upon checking out, I shared my negative experience with the cashier. She immediately gave me 20% off and said she'd share my experience with the spa director. I then got a phone call 20 minutes later to tell me that she spoke to Jennifer Haack and to "make it up to me" they were inviting me back to have the Ocean Body Contour package for 50% off. My mouth dropped. On top of the fact that my husband already spent $320 for the gift certificate, and we paid a baby sitter for 4 hours, you want me to "come back" and spend MORE money so that you can "fix" it? This is the craziest thing I ever heard, "come spend more money and time so we can make you happy" I shared my frustration with my husband he suggested I call and give them a chance. I left a message for the spa director. A week later, I left a message for her boss, the Managing Director. Neither have bothered to call me back. I will not spend another dime there EVER again. They've lost a customer who understands that they aren't the only gig in town. I value my time and my money more than showing up to spend more after a horrible experience. The good news is, since then...I had a fabulous massage from Eric at Hiatus Spa and a great scrub and wrap from Charlotte at The VSpa. The money left over on my Rosewood Giftcard will be used for sushi at Nobu. Luckily, my heart is mending and their is light at the end of the Crescent (stick up their butt) tunnel. read more

Disappointing would be a serious understatement. I booked this 5.5 hour spa package 2-months in advance for my brother's fiancé and I since I could not attend her bachelorette weekend. I spent over $740 on the day (20% gratuity was included of course). I booked both of our packages together and paid for them while she was getting her facial so that she wouldnt have to see the cost of the day. When we got to the manicure and pedicure part the staff didn't even put us in the same room. I was in another room in a corner and she was so far away I couldn't even see her let alone hear her. When I told them that wouldnt work and we needed to be next to each other, since I had booked the spa packages together, the people working in the mani/pedi section and the lady downstairs told me they couldn't. Which is funny because there was a private nail room open with two chairs available at that same time.The staff told us to sit down and choose our color. I said that I had spent a lot of money and that was the only part where we could be together to talk, so it was very important to me to be in the same room NEXT TO EACH OTHER. The staff told me they couldn't do anything about it and if I wanted to I could talk with the person at the upstairs. I asked if they could call the people upstairs, so I wouldn't have to go upstairs in my robe, but the people downstairs told me no - I would have to walk. So, I got to walk upstairs in my robe to "talk to the people upstairs" (no name given of who exactly to even talk to). This was another fun experience because there were men going in and out of the exercise room, as was the general public, while I was standing in a robe with nothing on underneath trying to get the staff to change our sears. Next, we figured out that they didn't have the right supplies to take off my brother's fiancé's gel nails, so I was informed they wouldn't be able to do any type of manicure on her, which is understandable if they don't have the supplies, but the problem was I paid a significant amount of money for her to have a 50 minute spa manicure and for me to have a 30 minute spa manicure beside her. I asked them if I could be refunded for that part or how they could fix it since that took away a significant amount of time from our spa day and the package I already paid for along with the 20% gratuity for that service. At this point if i hadnt already paid we would have just left. It was incredibly awkward and the staff downstairs was giving us the worst looks ever and whispering about us (right in front of us) in a language we could not understand - which is not exactly you want someone who is going to be doing your nails to be doing... When I walked upstairs the staff upstairs said instead of giving us the 50 minute spa pedicures that we had paid for they would give us 80 minutes spa pedicures. We were wondering how the pedicure would last so much longer and even got our hopes up that maybe they would do a wax wrap on our feet or some sort of leg massage during it like they do at nail salons, but it never ended up happening and the pedicures ended up being only 50 minutes not 80 minutes. Also, I pre-paid for our lunch and $30 of mimosas, so my brother's fiancé wouldn't have to worry about the cost of anything, but when we got to the part of our itinerary (that the staff created) for lunch there was no one anywhere to be seen. When someone finally came they asked if we were planning to eat and we said yes we already turned in our order from the menu we were given earlier that morning. While she was trying to figure out the situation I asked if we could have the mimosas I had ordered. The server told me it would be extra - I told her I had already paid for it. She eventually called the front and found out it was already paid for. During lunch, no one ever asked us if we needed anything else while were eating, no one ever asked us if we wanted something else to drink, no one refilled our waters, the lights were even off in the main dining area so you couldn't even see anything, so we sat at the bar area. We had both said that after looking at the juice menus next to the bar counter that we wanted to order some, but we were never given the opportunity to order or pay for it. Another really fun part of the day was when brother's fiancé was getting her facial. I had asked the front desk if I could go ahead and pay then, so she would not have to hear how much the spa day would cost. I gave the staff a gift certificate to go towards part of it and then my credit card for the other part. The lady at the front desk said she couldn't "figure out the gift certificate machine" and that I should go downstairs for my spa day and "IF (she) could figure out the machine then (she) would take that out and then put the rest on my card." After the week from hell (and I'm not exaggerating: think severe hives that lasted for 5 days, plus a dead air conditioner in my new home), I decided to book myself a day at the spa in an attempt to relax and rejuvenate. I know you are probably thinking that spending money after a week of paying for an Emergency Room visit and a $7,000 air cond and furnace is not a good idea. But, when you've lost your mind like I did that week, what's another $250 - $300 bucks? Does it really matter at that point? I think not. Anyway... years ago, my sweet husband sent me to the Spa at the Crescent for a full day of treatments. I remember having such a wonderful experience, so I called The Spa and booked an 80 minute massage, eyebrow wax, and signature pedicure. I got there about an hour early so that I had time to relax and use the sauna. Luckily, this spa has both wet and dry saunas, so I proceeded to the dry one for a little sweating and thinking. I did duck into the wet one to try it out, but felt a bit like I was drowning in all the steam and had to leave before I completely panicked. The iced washcloths and stacks of towels right outside the door were very helpful! The first thing you'll notice when there is how hard the sweet ladies who keep things clean and well-stocked work. They are so nice and are constantly checking to see if you need anything. I hope they are paid well - they definitely deserve it! My 80 minute massage was the treatment I looked forward to most. I've never had a massage that long, and I was all ready to to hear angels, and maybe even Jesus himself, singing through such a heavenly experience. It was good, but no angels appeared on this trip. The masseuse did listen to my wants and was very nice, but I didn't leave thinking, "Wow- that was the most amazing massage ever!" Next up was the eyebrow wax. Once again, they listened well to what I wanted and I ended up very pleased with the work. On to the pedicure! And here comes the BEST part of my whole day (no, it wasn't from one of my treatments)...I happened to ask the person at the reservation desk if I might be able to get a mimosa...and she brought me one - God is good! As for the pedicure, it was nice, but not awe inspiring. I'm happier going to my favorite nail place (see Nails Now review). The comfy robe and tshirts and shorts for use in the sauna (unless you'd like to go au naturale) are very fun and add to the experience. Everything else aside, this was by far the best scalp massage of my life. I was delirious and borderline comatose by the end of it - it was that good. I was aware of the valet and basement oddities going into it, so it wasn't hard to put those inconveniences aside. A friend and I were visiting to use our promotional coupons for a body massage, scalp massage/hot oil treatment, mani & pedi. We arrived early to make use of the amenities before our services and found that we had the place mostly to ourselves on a Sunday afternoon. We're both big fans of steam rooms, and while this one isn't scented or able to fit more than 3-4 people, it got the job done. The motif is a bit dated, but the environment is serene, barring too many people in the waiting area yapping about the latest socialite gossip. The massage was excellent, but the scalp massage/oil treatment was beyond comparison. I could barely walk, let alone remember my name, after my masseuse got done. My friend later recounted a similar experience, but it took both of us a solid 20 minutes of sitting, sipping tea, and maintaining silence to regain lucid thought. THAT's the sign of a great massage. We had our mani & pedi in a semi-private room that housed only two spa chairs which was perfect so that we could chat without trying to talk over other conversations. The odd/awkward thing was that I could swear that the lady doing my mani/pedi was fighting back tears and sniffling for the first half of my treatment. I wasn't exactly sure what to do, and didn't want to draw attention to her, but it was quite awkward. Overall, I'd go back for a scalp massage and make sure I had plenty of time to soak in the whirlpool, make a stop in the steam room, and sip tea while reading trashy magazines in the lounge. read more

Nice place, locker rooms are well attended. The whirpool was just ok, not really warm enough. The guest robes were big and comfortable. I got a deep tissue massage and she did a good job. Knew where to go deeper and get the tension out. It's a little on the pricey side - $90 for 50 minutes. Most massages in town you can get an hour for $75-80 but don't get the spa experience. If you are on a budget, probably not the best place. read more

I visited their newly refreshed and renovated spa expecting an amazing experience. This was back in July 2018. What bothered me the most was that there was NO spa music to be heard in the reception or dressing areas at all. Total dead silence. My relaxation starts at the door when I walk in and hear soothing music. Worse, a loud TV was on in the lounge/waiting area with a fake news program blasting fake news at me, which really raises my blood pressure. Massage was just blah and nothing to write home about. Not worth my money and the distance I travelled. It's ok if you are already staying at the hotel. read more

The Uptown Slowdown package is a great deal. I chose a 50 minute massage along with a mani/pedi instead of the facial. I arrived about 45 minutes early for my appointment in order to spend some time using the spa facilities such as whirlpool/cold dip pool, steam room and dry sauna. The facilities are a bit dated, but they still do the trick! After spending some time in each facility, I ended with a warm shower and 15 minutes of relaxation in their quiet room. By the time of my massage appointment, I was extremely relaxed and ready for my massage. My one complaint is that my massage therapist spoke to me the entire time she was massaging me. She was a very kind and a sweet lady, but massages are meant to be a quiet and relaxing time. I do recommend this spa and will be back but next time I will request for the masseuse to refrain from talking during the massage. read more

I read some of the worse reviews below and am thrilled to say that my experience couldn't have been different or better. This spa day was a Christmas gift from my hubby and by the time I left I felt like overcooked pasta-almost too relaxed. We had some time before our first treatment, so I took sauna and hit the whirlpool. By the time my massage my muscles were as warm and loose as they were going to get, which made the massage even better. We had an 80 minute couples deep tissue massage with Gladys and Mak. Usually my husband notes that deep tissue is never hard enough to get the kinks out, but apparently Gladys was up to the challenge. He said this was among his best massages ever. Mak was great, too. I followed all this up with a pedicure that had all the little amenities, aroma therapy, a paraffin wrap and at the end my talons were converted to perfect toes. The attention to detail was fantastic, even providing a chenille throw during my pedicure so I didn't freeze in my spa robe. Had a great stay, can't wait to go back. read more

So I guess I don't really have a frame of reference since I ain't no baller YET (I definitely felt like a poser during my weekend escapade), but the Spa at the Crescent was an amazing, relaxing experience. I was lucky enough to be treated to a girl's weekend where we indulged in 2 hour treatments and some pampering by the lovely ladies taking care of us. I had the Japanese Blossom treatment, where the lovely Lucia scrubbed, patted, and massaged my body into heavenly bliss. She was friendly and warm, and made me feel very comfortable. All the staff seemed very nice. Facilities seemed clean, from the day lockers to the well-stocked bathroom, and I loved having cucumber water and fruit to enjoy at my leisure. I guess when I win the lottery and become a true baller, I would go back to the Spa at the Crescent all the time. Because that's what ballers do. read more

I am posting this review to let others know how wonderfully accommodating the staff at the Crescent Spa proved to be. One of my best girlfriends moved to Allen, TX for a job promotion. As I wasn't local for her 30th Bday celebration, I requested Freesia florist to send a beautiful bouquet to the Spa as I knew my GF would be having treatments there for the day. "Ashley" was absolutely professional, courteous, and helpful. With her assistance, I was able to take care of my friends bill, add a gift card for a future service, and ensure my flowers were delivered as requested. What a great experience! This was my first serious spa experience (a treat from a friend) and I had a really lovely day. All the employees were very friendly and helpful and all the services (massage, facial, mani and pedi) were very relaxing. Lunch was delicious and I got to squeeze in some whirlpool time. (There is also a wet and dry sauna but I didn't want my hair to get huge.) They get bonus points for being very accommodating to my friend when a problem cropped up and she was unable to join me. They have a 24-hour cancellation policy (48 hours for packages) but it was very obvious that this simply couldn't have been prevented.
