I wish that I was driven to write this review based upon an outstanding experience but on the contrary, one of the worst customer service experiences I've encountered. Here's my story: My husband and I relocated to Cambria in October '18 not knowing a sole but were excited to embark into a new life experience. One of the first things he, my husband, wanted to do was to give me a gift of relaxation so he ventured over Hwy 46 into Paso Robles and found what he believed to be the ideal spa for me to escape. He is 72 mind you, dealing with major health issues and yet the saleswoman did indeed sell him a Non Refundable gift certificate in the amount of $500... Here's where it goes array, I'm deathly afraid of traveling over that highway (notified the owner of my fear) so even if I were to get there, be relaxed/renewed, I would be faced with having to return via the 46. After several months I accepted that this was a big mistake I decided to contact the manager and explain my problem. I was aware of the "no refund" policy but was hoping that being a spa which promotes meditation, Zen, etc. that this might be an exception. HA! I was told that I could use gift it to someone (who has $500 to just "give" away), or they would break it down into smaller amounts for me to gift or to purchase product. Heavens, had this inconsiderate greed occurred in the Southern Orange County area from which I came, the Spa business or any other business for that matter, would be extinct. Called last minute to get a an appointment and they were able to accommodate me. My grandma's funeral was yesterday and I was feeling very low and sad. Self-care emergency. I was booked with Laura, amazing! She catered and to my well being and I was heard, felt and seen. She took my on amazing journey, her hands were warm like the sun, the fan felt like a summer breeze and her strokes were in harmony with the sea. Most relaxing massage. I was visiting from the LA area & decide to treat myself to a massage for the first time since Covid. Wow!! Did I choose perfectly! This place is amazing! Aly greeted me at the front desk & was so kind & professional. She wisked me away to a tranquil & almost surreal back room for a foot soak before my massage. Everything from the decor to the Zen-like music to the subdued lighting was SO relaxing & peaceful. JD, my masseur was right on time & escorted me to a room. The entire massage - from beginning to end was just perfect. I decided to add the CBD treatment to my massage & I'm convinced it helped tremendously. JD took his time & was very professional & checked in with me to be sure the pressure was not too much or too little. Such a relaxing & therapeutic experience. The Spa Central Coast is such a treat! My husband bought me a gift card for Mother's Day. I thought I'd better use it to show my appreciation even though I rarely pamper myself and didn't feel like I really needed it. I was so surprised and happy with the 50 minute facial I decided to try. Marisa was amazing! I've never been so relaxed or felt so pampered. After the treatment I couldn't help but sign up for a membership so I could have this experience regularly. I've been back for my second facial with Marisa (includes upper back, neck, arms, hands, and scalp massage) and treatment for my face that leaves me feeling and looking younger, refreshed and renewed to face the world! My husband and I moved to Paso about a year ago and I was in search of a good spa which could continue with my monthly microderms. Coming from the Bay Area, I was very particular and my expectations were high. Kitty and her team did not disappoint! In the year I've been going to The Spa Central Coast I've had a few esthetician and all three have been great. Most recently, I've had Marisa and she is excellent! Her technique with the microderm is strong and effective and her neck and shoulder massage is unmatched. The Spa is a a quaint very peaceful place the moment you walk in. The staff are friendly & make you feel comfortable even if it's the first time. Each massage room is decorated differently always very soothing to me. They have a lot of great products from the essential oil blend to skin care. I am horrifically late to giving this spa their props! I attended as a birthday gift to myself last March! It was right on time because a week later COVID shut us all down. I live in Pebble Beach but decided to get away to Paso Robles and found Spa Central Coast! The owner has crafted a real gem and hires gifted, interesting people. Everything at Spa Central Coast was perfection. From the front to the back, everyone was professional, kind, friendly, authentic. The aesthetic (colors, decor, vibe) of the spa were dreamy! I mean, I was straight vibing out in the back waiting room, lol. I had a 90-minute deep tissue massage with Delfina, and a 90-minute facial with Barbara. The massage was AMAZING! My facial was AMAZING! I eventually had to tear myself away so I could stop chatting with everyone there. I left floating! Oh, and no one tried to up-sell me on anything! So when I did buy two Spa Central Coast items (the SPF moisturizer and hydrating cream mask) it was because they were used on me and I really enjoyed them and they let me know, fyi, if you want, we sell them. Some months later, I returned to Paso Robles with my mother I would've taken her there but, at the time, they'd had to close due to COVID. I am so jealous they are back open and I can't go because I have temporarily relocated back to Atlanta to ride out COVID for a bit. But when I head back to California, I am adding Spa CC into my rotation (like I had originally planned before COVID disrupted everything). It is self care and Spa CC is worth it! read more

I've been coming to the Spa Central Coast for many many years. I have always had a great experience every time. Kitty; the owner is amazing. The team they have is seriously incredible. You need to schedule a massage with Jeremy and a facial with Miranda. Jeremy is really incredible and knows exactly what my body needs every time I come in. He's great with sports therapy and stretching too. They have brought so many new things to the spa. I've been doing cryotherapy and have seen amazing results . They offer a monthly membership which is awesome, and you get a substantial discount on your treatment. Since I started my regimen with Miranda I've stoped getting Botox and can't believe how amazing my skin is looking!!! read more

I would give laura 5 stars because she was so sweet and the massage was amazing. The place however I am not happy with. I showed up 20 minutes early and they took me back for a foot soak. My massage was at 10:15 and did not start until 10:30. They made sure it ended at 11:15 so I was shorted 15 minutes when I let them know they said sorry were really busy and can not give you a discount. We can add extra time next time (mind you I am here on vacation). On top of that it was not a peaceful environment, there's no music playing so you can hear everyone talking and laughing while you are getting your services. Would not come back. read more

An absolute oasis in Paso Robles! My cousin and I drove in from L.A for the weekend and booked our sessions online. The process was seamless, we even received a courtesy text regarding potential road closures due to a car show. I cannot say enough about my first time visit- the amenities were gorgeous, the foot bath was a pleasant surprise and the customer service, superb! After the hot stone massage, I literally felt recalibrated. My knots on my shoulders were completely gone after my session. We are definitely coming back in the near future. read more

I was experiencing really bad neck pain and i called and booked an appointment and the receptionist was able to get me an appointment within 30 minutes, awesome! I had John G as my therapist and he was AMAZING!!!!! So strong and I felt better instantly, my headache went away. lI really can't say enough about the outstanding quality of this spa. While on a birthday celebration trip, my friend and I had a couple of massage experiences. We found the first spa, recommended by our hotel, lovely but the massages were not quite what we expected. Since The Spa at Central Coast was close to our hotel, and we spoke at length with the owner, we tried another massage at The Spa Central Coast. The atmosphere at Spa Central Coast is very personal and soothing. The staff and owner go out of their way to meet your needs. Immediately you feel at home and relaxed. I had a deep tissue massage which was fantastic, and cost less than the first spa we attended. Not only was it about half the cost, but the masseuse, Cindy, was able to work on a long term problem I have had. And, the massage was the key to unlock my hip/leg issue. Now, I can walk without a limp and pain. For me, this is a minor miracle. I was so elated at the services, that I booked another trip to Paso Robles for a massage next month. After having a tight back, and being on vacation, I wanted to do something to pamper myself so I found this spa and to my surprise, it had same-day availability on a Saturday. I booked an appointment with Kitty online for a hot stone massage to ease my aches. I've booked many massages, and I have found that with online booking, if you do it same day you might run into a risk of the scheduling not working out. Surely enough, about an hour later I received a call about the timing. I called back and a distressed front desk attendant asked me to move my appointment from noon to 3:45p because they were so busy. I said no, as I was visiting from out of town and had other plans that day. The distressed attendant panicked a little then told me my initial time was fine and she'd see me then. I wasn't pleased by this, but carried on. If noon was going to be fine, I shouldn't have been called. When I arrived at the spa, the same girl was addressing another customer, which was fine as I was early. About 8 minutes later I was finally acknowledged. I was told things might be a little late because they were very busy. I'm used to spa appointments starting on time, but I said okay. Kitty greeted me in the waiting room and discussed the massage with me. She seemed like a lady who was running around all day, and slightly anxious. I asked for some tea and she said okay. About ten minutes passed and a girl came by with a foot soak. I asked for the tea again and was given some in a very small paper cup. About five more minutes pass and it's almost ten after my appointment start time, so I ask one of the girls when my appointment will be. She eagerly says she'll find out. Two minutes later Kitty comes in to take me to the room at the top. The room was decorated in a lovely, rustic and modern manner. The bathroom was attached. Since we already discussed the massage, all I had to do was get comfortable. Despite Kitty's anxious undertones, the massage she gave me was ONE OF THE BEST I ever had, and I've had LOTS of massages. She even gave me a small facial at the end, and although we started about 15 after my appointment time, we went the full hour. I was so happy afterward. Check out was as easy as check-in... it took about 8+ minutes, including waiting to be acknowledged as the girl was pre-occupied with something on the computer. I've been a massage therapist for 8 years and particular when I get service. However when someone doesn't have any flow or really doesn't know the muscles that is bothersome. I had an amazing massage (I think by Liz) and my husband loved his massage and body treatment. Facial not bad. Staff were really friendly. Review would have been a 5 but my 80 minute massage started 10-15 minutes late and this didn't get added to the time, so an 80 minute massage was more like 65. Also, there was a 3.5% fee for using the credit card, but the (really nice) front desk lady didn't tell me until the card was in the middle of processing. As we got so many services it added quite a bit and I would have used my debit card had I known upfront. Overall though, highly recommend. read more

I had to cry that I had splurged on a prenatal massage for myself and left in pain. There were so many things that were odd about my experience at this spa but the part that made the massage such a disappointment was that it was completely uneven. I am pregnant and have been getting migraines so it was suggested I get a massage if maybe the cause was neck and shoulder tightness. I had expressed this and also that I have chronic inflammation in my glute, but it is not currently flared. On one side of my body, my shoulders and my glute was was massaged... on the other side she massaged my shoulder, glute, neck (for less than a minute), my head, my arm, hand, leg, calf, and foot. I think she realized it, but we were out of time so quickly rubbed the other foot. I ended up be on the second side for much longer, so one side of my neck was not only left un-massaged, but sore from laying on it I that position. I do not know the name of the masseuse as she did not stick around to see how I was feeling after, and I know I had booked it on the online system with Kitty (which I had seen on Yelp had good reviews, hence why I chose that), but it was not her who ended giving me the massage. Another odd thing was that when I booked the reservation it made me put down a cc and then when I went to pay they said they charge a surcharge if you pay with cc... I don't mind that but I just found it unclearly communicated upon booking and a bit hypocritical. If the business needs any more information, feel free to reach out, but I felt this review had to be written for them to know that their customers are paying hard earned money for a service that should be attentive and high quality and this was not. read more

My husband and I got the couples massage yesterday and it was absolutely phenomenal. The moment you walk in, the aromatherapy and decor catch your attention and you start the relaxation process. We started with a foot soak while we completed a few forms. Lisa was my massage therapist and she was so in tune and able to connect with my needs. She is truly a talented therapist and you can tell she really cares about her clients. We will definitely be back and highly recommend. Worth every penny! read more

Updating from my previous review which was a one star. Got a massage as a Christmas present just so happens it was this place, which I had a horrible experience the1st time. Came in not knowing what to expect... the lady at the front desk was the same lady we delt with last time. She still wasn't that friendly nor welcoming. Maybe because of my 1st review she recognized me, (Very unprofessional) if that was the case. But then I was graced by this beautiful soul ROSE. Her energy was so powerful it totally blocked out the bad energy that I received coming in. Amazing massage, probably the best I have ever had. Thank you Rose. So because of Rose I will give you 3 stars, wish I could give more. But as a person that has worked in restaurants her whole life. Doesn't matter how good the food, it's the whole experience. The hostess, server, expediter, bartender, chef, etc.. if everyone is on the same level and wants to deliver same amount of service, this will equal a successful business. I scheduled a deep tissue massage. The therapist was very nice and asked me where I wanted her to focus and what type of pressure I wanted. When she started, the pressure was very light. I asked her twice during the massage to increase the pressure quite a bit. In the end it wasn't a bad Swedish massage, but definitely not a deep tissue massage. read more
